Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.
Before the feast of Passover, Jesus knew that his hour had come
to pass from this world to the Father.
He loved his own in the world and he loved them to the end.
The devil had already induced Judas, son of Simon the Iscariot, to hand him over.
So, during supper,
fully aware that the Father had put everything into his power
and that he had come from God and was returning to God,
he rose from supper and took off his outer garments.
He took a towel and tied it around his waist.
Then he poured water into a basin
and began to wash the disciples’ feet
and dry them with the towel around his waist.
He came to Simon Peter, who said to him,
“Master, are you going to wash my feet?”
Jesus answered and said to him,
“What I am doing, you do not understand now,
but you will understand later.”
Peter said to him, “You will never wash my feet.”
Jesus answered him,
“Unless I wash you, you will have no inheritance with me.”
Simon Peter said to him,
“Master, then not only my feet, but my hands and head as well.”
Jesus said to him,
“Whoever has bathed has no need except to have his feet washed,
for he is clean all over;
so you are clean, but not all.”
For he knew who would betray him;
for this reason, he said, “Not all of you are clean.”
So when he had washed their feet
and put his garments back on and reclined at table again,
he said to them, “Do you realize what I have done for you?
You call me ‘teacher’ and ‘master,’ and rightly so, for indeed I am.
If I, therefore, the master and teacher, have washed your feet,
you ought to wash one another’s feet.
I have given you a model to follow,
so that as I have done for you, you should also do.”
Today, Holy Thursday, the Institution of the priesthood and Eucharist, Jesus gives us the first Mass. In John’s Gospel, he does not use the words of institution but rather focuses on the washing of the disciples feet. Jesus provides a model that mirrors the crucifixion. The lowliest Jewish slave did not wash his master’s feet. This symbolizes the crucifixion. Some scripture scholar’s believe the washing of the feet symbolizes baptism. The teaching Christ is handing on to us is to be selfless. “There is no greater love than to lay one’s life down for one’s friends.” JN 15:13 God became a Man to show us how much God loves us, to redeem us by giving His own life up to atone for every sin, and be a model of holiness. This is true love. There is no greater love. This is what our hearts are truly yearning for. We are fulfilled when we are selfless and give up ourselves for the other, when we learn to serve. Enter each room asking how you can help. Get off of our screens and spend time with humans giving and receiving. Sacrifice what you want for the benefit of the other. At the heart of Holy Thursday, Jesus teaches us to be other-centered. It takes a life time, a vocation, and training our mind to wake each day and be other-centered. If you make this choice, the rewards are eternal!
Today’s challenge: Take time to go to the Easter Triduum, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday, the three highest days on all of the Church calendar. How did these events change YOUR life forever and all of human history? If it is all about another long weekend to spend more time on yourself, what are your priorities? Jesus opens wide His heart for you, gives up His life for you, and desires a personal relationship with you. The hardest part, you have to CHANGE! We hate change and we are afraid. Ask God for His grace, it transforms what sin has damaged.
Be a servant, become a saint!
#Christian YOLO
Jesus is telling us to live like he did. We are servants so we need to do the little things for other people. I’m going to apply this to my life by doing things around the house without being asked.
I can reflect on this scripture by being selfless and helping others out and stop being selfish.
I can add this scripture to my life by lowering myself to others so that they may be clean. Jesus has already set a perfect example for us, and I must follow it.
When i think of Holy Thursday I think of Love and giving. Love because Jesus is about to give his life for us , and giving because he gives us Communion.
On Holy Thursday we celebrate the last supper. Priests will wash people’s feet as Jesus did to the apostles. Holy Thursday is a good time to pray and reflect on all Jesus has done for you.
The washing of feet reminds me of how he washes all our sins away thought his death and that he had to sacrifice his life for us. this is also shown in the mass when the priest does the same things as Jesus.
This week Jesus will lay His life down for us. That is an amazing thing. There is no greater honor then to lay your life down for another person. Maybe don’t literally do that, but stand up for your friend or better yet someone who isn’t your friend.
Jesus gives us the mass on this day, he knows his time has come to die and he is still giving to us and still loving us even though he is dying he still gives us a mass that we need to follow because he is our God that we need to get to heaven.
Jesus said to Peter that whoever is not clean needs to be washed, but whoever has bathed doesn’t need to be cleaned. This means that if you are not clean and you come to Jesus he will clean you, but if you are a;ready clean you will have eternal life with God.f
This scripture passage reminds me of all Jesus has shown us. Jesus has lead by example. He shows us everything that we need to do to get to Heaven. It should be easy for us to decipher right from wrong because of all Jesus has shown us, but we manage to sin. This scripture also teaches me that Jesus truly loves us and doesn’t want to hold His power over us.
I can apply this to my life by putting other first. Putting others problems before mine and helping others.
Over the quarantine i have created some bad habits of sleeping but i have been following God closer so he will keep everybody safe.
Today’s Scripture is telling us that we need to get off the phones and pay attention to our friends and our family and explore the world and not our screens. There is so much more than just the internet, being with friends and family is so much fun and exciting compared to just sitting and ruining our brains watching YouTube or Snapchat.
I can apply this to my daily life by realizing what God did for us, and to take time over these next few days to really understand and take more pride in being a Catholic.
This shows that you should treat everybody as a human, no matter who they are or what they have done. Everyone deserves to be treated like like a real person and not something with no worth.
It today’s Scripture Jesus lowered himself. Who is all great and powerful, lowered himself to his disciples and washed their feet. Which takes a real man to do, because you don’t hear of any roman kings that washed their servants’ feet. Then to know that you will die, and not run away, takes a real man. This shows that even though you are better or you think you are better than someone you can still do things for them and help them out.
I think in this Scripture passage Jesus is trying to tell us that pure love comes from your heart and God. Instead of just sitting back and watching someone suffer, we should go up to them and comfort or help them. Today most of society cares about themselves and don’t take the time to care for others. You don’t need to do some big act for them, but you could do a small act and talk to them.
In this scripture, Jesus showed an example of himself being humble so that we may act like him. I think we read this scripture a couple of days before Easter Sunday, so we can be reminded of our baptism before Jesus’ coming.
Holy Thursday is a day in which we should be the most selfless. Jesus, who they called Master, got down and washed the disciples feet. This is a model of holiness for someone so high in power, got down to wash HIS FOLLOWERS feet. When i think about a leader or a great in the time line, I can guarantee you that 9 times out of 10 they would demand service from there followers. This man is different yet everyday we make choices that take us further from this man.
This scripture passage shows us that some of us have been tempted by the devil, and so we are not clean in the eyes of God. Jesus washing the disciples’ feet shows a simple act of service, yet it is the most important service you could do. Simply washing someone’s feet meant that they were clean of the devil and could enter the Kingdom of God. Jesus wants us to follow in this example and help someone else make it to Heaven.
Jesus says in this scripture, that i have given you a model to follow now all you have to do is follow it. i can apply this to my life by following the model Jesus set for us.
He is basically saying that we should follow in the path that He takes.
In this scripture, Jesus is teaching us to be selfless. Rather than being selfish and caring for yourself only you should be humble. God became man just so He could be with us and die for our every single sin we have made. Jesus’ love for us is the greatest and largest. We must appreciate God because He really doesn’t need us, but He gives us many chances for us to praise, worship, and love Him.
I can apply this to my life by realizing we will have to suffer.
Holy Thursday is a day where he doesn’t just talk he shows us how to be. He also loves us so much that he is willing to give up his own body and blood.
This scripture passage tells me that we should try our best to change our ways and follow Christ completely. We hate change but we should try our hardest.
I can apply this to my life by following in Jesus’ footsteps. He is a role model for us. He treats us the way He wants us to treat others.
Even though Jesus is greater than us, he does so many things that we could never pay him back for. All we can do it try and make it to Heaven so we can spend an a eternal life with him.
Holy Thursday is one of the mos tcherrisable times of the year. Today’s message should be spread throughout the world as we get closer and closer to the ressurection of jesus. The passion of Jesus is one great life story. We depend on him, so the least we can do is go to mass and celebrate Easter.
I can apply this to my life by thanking God for all that he has done for me.
We need to make an effort to put others before ourselves. Yes, we might have problems but so do other people and they need help too. This is what Jesus did and our goal is to be more like him, he should be our model in life.
In this passage, Jesus washes his disciple’s feet. In those times when you wash someone’s feet, that was what servent did. Since they did not have the best shoes, and they walked everywhere, their feet were filthy. Simon Peter would not let Jesus wash his feet, he didn’t want Jesus to be his servant, and Peter said that he should wash Jesus’ feet. Since Peter should be his servant.
In today’s scripture Jesus is calling us to either follow him and to be a model in someone else’s life just like Jesus was at the Last Supper.
The people thought that Jesus would come as a king on earth, but he didn’t. He was born into the world like a regular person and grew up with a regular life. Jesus is the Son of God though! The Son of God put others before Himself, so much that He, the Son of God, washed other peoples’ feet. He even died for us. We must do as Jesus did and care about others so we can have eternal life with Him in Heaven.
We must do our activities and chores without complaining. We should follow Christ’s example and help out those in need.
In today’s reading, Jesus washing the feet of his apostles. This shows Jesus humbling himself. If Jesus can humble himself, so can we. We need to put aside our pride, especially during these times. We must serve others before serving ourselves.
Even though Jesus was the leader of His disciples, He did what not even the lowliest in Israel did at the time. He selflessly washed the feet of His disciples whom He was the leader of. Jesus set an example for His disciples to serve others. I can apply this to my life by being selfless and setting good examples for others.
We have to worship Jesus because He has done so much for us. We need to bow down to him and humble ourselves because He is our savior and is the King.
If it were a normal time than this would be the point in the season to recieve reconciliation and be clensed for Jesus, just as he washes the feet of his disciples.
I think this is a beautiful part of the bible. I feel like Jesus is telling us that nobody is completely clean. We all need to be washed of our sins. When all this quarantine is over, go to confession. It will have been a while and we always can be cleansed of our sins.
I can apply this scripture passage to my life by remembering to be selfless. It doesn’t seem like a big deal to us today, but getting down on the ground to wash someone else’s feet after they have been walking in sandals all day is really giving yourself to them in a very humble way. Today we are so caught up in “MY clothes, MY phone, MY shoes, MY book, etc” that we really forget how to be selfless and think of others for once, not just ourselves. Jesus has set a humble, loving and unselfish example and he has told us to follow it. So we should be trying every day to think of the selfish things that we have done and striving with all of our being to not do it again the next day so as to grow closer to God and heaven
Jesus is a great role model for us to follow and he knows what is right for us and that we should always follow is path. When someone needs help we should help them and they will help us as a favor.
Jesus washes His apostles’ feet in today’s gospel. He is setting an example to serve others. We will get to heaven if we humbly serve.
I have been closer to God through this pandemic and it made me realize how much life im missing out on
This is about the Last Supper. It is very significant for all Catholics because it takes place shortly before the passion of Christ, and we get 2 sacraments. We get the Eucharist and Holy Orders. I can apply this to my life by realizing that no matter what I do to hurt Him, He will always be there and will never stop loving me.
I can apply this to my life by knowing that I need to change. I need to follow Christ’s example and ask for His forgiveness. Lastly, I can sacrifice many things so I can be with Him in His Kingdom.
Jesus knew he would be betrayed and he knew that he would die. So he passed his inheritence onto his deciples, but they were dirty so he washed their feet to prepare them for their new inheritance. When we sin we become dirty but when we confess our sins we are feet are washed and we can accept Jesus’ inheritance of grace. When we sin we are like Judas, we hand Jesus over to the high priests but we can repent and confess our sins to Jesus.
Jesus knew his time was coming to die, yet he still was willing to make himself a servant for his disciples, washing their feet for them. HE remained calms, knowing he had to die, and knowing that one of his own would betray him. I think we need to follow his example, to remain calm even if we know that something bad is on the way, and continuing to serve and care for others before ourselves.
Today’s scripture reflection is telling me that I should be humble and not put myself above others. I should be able to bring myself down to help those that need it. And after I have set the example they should be able to also make themselves humble and help the others that need help.
In the scriptures, we can love the world even when it gives us bad places to live. We should still love the world just like Jesus.
Jesus washes the feet is the apostles. He is showing that we should be selfless. This also takes place right before the Crucifixion and Jesus knows it.
Jesus wants us to be humble and help others. That is exactly what he is trying to teach his disciples.
In today’s Gospel we see how Jesus KNEW his fate and he freely gave himself up for US. He was human and he didn’t HAVE to give himself up. But he did it; freely he gave up his LIFE so that we may live. But before this happened he gave us the example he wanted us to follow. He broke bread and made it his body. He gave his body to his disciples so they could EAT it!! They were eating his BODY! He did all of this because he loves us and wants us to join him in Heaven.
I believe that this gospel reading is telling me that we must follow in Jesus’s example. For he, the king of the world washed us, the sinners and we must learn to do the same to others.
I can apply this to my life by surounding myself good roll models
Today Jesus humbles Himself in a great way, as he washes the feet of the apostles. We should humble ourselves before God, because it is exactly what He did for us. Putting himself in a human form and suffering a fate on the cross was the most humbling act ever performed in history.
I think today’s scripture passage is an especially powerful one. As it deals with not only yourself but also others. I feel like those are the hardest challenges we need to overcome. Because ou can always self improve, but what Jesus is telling us to do, is to cleanse each other. Make sure each other are free of sin, get rid of each other’s sinful habits. I think that’s especially powerful and should mean a great deal to us all.
What I think God is trying to tell me in this scripture passage today is that we must serve one another with humility and humbleness. We should serve others as Jesus served his apostles, not washing people’s feet persay, but go out and do something for someone who you know won’t give you something back in return.
open your heart to Jesus and trust in God and he will lead you to heaven.
I think this means that God and Jesus have been good examples to us. They showed us what rules we need to follow and how to live a holy life. They want us to follow in their footsteps, not ignore them. We need to be more careful about choices we make in our lives.
Jesus became a man to show us how much God loves us. Jesus came to redeem us by giving up His own life for our sins. There is no greater love than this. This is what our hearts truly want and this will fulfill us.
When Jesus washes the disciples feet it kind of tells me that Jesus is not self-centered. He cares about others way more than himself. We need to be more other-centered and always ask how we can help someone, just like Jesus did.
In today’s gospel, at the Last Supper between our Lord, and his twelve Apostles, Jesus cleans their feet, but aloud, because he well knew that Judas, the son to Simon the Iscariot was his betrayer, he claims, “Not all of you are clean”. Then following this response, as he positions himself at the table, Jesus explains to the twelve, “Do you realize what I have done for you? You call me ‘teacher’ and ‘master,’ and rightly so, for indeed I am. If I, therefore, the master and teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash one another’s feet. I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do.” The institution of the Eucharist and the priesthood provides us, as individual disciples, the ability to grow among ourselves. Through the practice of this Catholic faith, we are united as one family of brothers and sisters, as true men and women of God, and one kin in the faith.
Today Jesus wants us to serve others as he has served the disciples by washing their feet.We must do to others what he has done to us even in this time of the coronavirus.
In today’s scripture Jesus washes his disciples feet the day before his passion. What I can take away from this is that do what you are told. Your teaches put so much teaching into your knowledge for you not to listen.
Jesus is saying that he has set an example for us and we should set an example for others. We should be humble and kind to others just as Jesus was, and we should follow his teachings.
Jesus was being kind because he new they would light the rest of the way
During these hard times we all need to ask God for his help. This is the time to grow closer to Jesus because you are stuck at home and we really need to start realizing that we will need Christ to get past these hard times.
If our souls aren’t clean then we can’t reach heaven.
This is saying that Jesus knew what He had to do and He knew all of the suffering He would go through, but still did it because He loves us.
Today Jesus is telling me to be kind to others. Jesus is the Son of God and he washed someone’s feet. He is telling me to be kind. Jesus knew that he was going to die tomorrow but he was still kind the day before. He knew he was going to go through a lot of pain but instead of getting angry He was nice and kind to his apostles.
This scripture today is telling me that we should try to make a closer relationship with God because He has done everything for us. We can at least repay him by growing closer to him.
I think the scripture is trying to tell me to follow in Jesus’ footsteps and to be a good model for others. In the scripture, Jesus washes the feet of the disciples. The disciples are confused because of Jesus, their master, shouldn’t be washing their feet. However, later Jesus tells them that by washing their feet he is giving them a model to follow. He wants them to go out and “wash feet” for others even though they might feel above others. Although I probably won’t go out and wash other people’s feet, I can still follow Jesus’ footsteps of being humble.
In today’s scripture, Jesus washes the Disciple’s feet, and when he had finished he said, “I have given you a model to follow so that as I have done for you, you should also do.” Jesus knew that we as humans like to copy one another. When we see something cool like a new soccer move, we try and do it ourselves. When Jesus says, “I have given you a model to follow,” He is not saying that he wants His disciples to go around washing everyone’s feet, but he wants His disciples to go forth not to be served but to serve. He wants the disciples to go and spread the Good News, baptize in Jesus’s name, drive out demons inside of people, cure the sick, feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, and live like He did. When Jesus says “I have given you a model to follow” He is not just talking about the washing of His disciple’s feet He is talking about how He lived his life. In a way, he is telling His disciples you have seen the way that I lived, and now go and follow my example. We will be able to witness the Last Supper tonight at 7 P.M. on YouTube.

Jesus does everything with love and with his full heart. He loved his apostles soo much and he washed their feet. Even tho we turn away from Jesus he still loves us no matter what. We need to learn how to love like jesus.
I need to remember that God loves me even if I don’t always love him. It takes courage to wash our Lords feet even because he knows what we have done. I need to not hide from him and remeber that he died for us.
Like Jesus washed the feet of others, we should help others. He did something that others judged Him for doing. We should be willing to do the right and holy thing in public without being ashamed. What’s right isn’t always popular, and what’s popular isn’t always what’s right.
I can apply this to my daily life by being kind to others and we need to keep our souls clean to get to heaven.
In todays scripture Jesus washes the disciple’s feet. This shows us that we need to be humble and always give our selves to God. Since Jesus gave his whole self to save us we should give him our whole selves.
We need to be humble and remember that Jesus loves and cares for you. We need to try to make Jesus the center of our lives. We push Him away, but He is all we need to be happy.
In this Gospel Jesus shows his love for his apostles by washing their feet. It shows my that he thinks his isn’t better than anyone else, and loves everyone.
What i got from todays scripture is that Jesus is always with you, you may not know the day nor hour, but he does. Always faith and trust in God and he will lead you to Heaven.
This scripture really told me to be selfless and care for others. I can apply this to my daily life by cooking for the family or doing the dishes.
In today’s scripture God is trying to say to us for us to be completely clean we need to believe in him.
I can relate this to my life because it is saying we should treat other people like Jesus treated us, not by literally washing people’s feet but by respecting them and their decisions.
I can apply this to my life by using good examples from my parents to form good spiritual habits.
This can be applied to my life by setting a good example for my siblings.
During this global issue, we need to keep clean. We can’t go out all the time anymore and receive confession. So we need to try extra hard to keep our soul pure and clean.
I can start being selfless and helping others out and stop being selfish.
Even though we turn away from Jesus he still loves us. We have to appreciate and stop being selfish. We need to stay clean with our soul.
He is saying that we should follow his path. Get off our phones and go pray or read the bible.
dIn this passage God is telling me that I should bet off my phone and spend more time with my family. If I spend more time with my family it could create a stronger bond between my family and me. My mom has set up a family game night every night and now I am finally realizing why.
This teaches me I should be grateful for what I have and give my all not just a little.
When I think of holy Thursday I think of love and giving which to me is most important
In this scripture, Jesus realizes that he has to sacrifice himself. want everyone to imagine what you would do if you had to do this. You would probably freak out, That is what makes us human. We see Jesus as not a human even though he felt pain like the rest of us. We don’t necessarily need to sacrifice our bodies but we need to sacrifice small things every day. Pray every day and thank God!
In this scripture reflection Jesus is saying that eventually we will all die and that if we believe in God we will have eternal life but if we don’t we will have eternal death.
We all should change. Sin is not the way to eternal happiness, selflessness and prayer is. Be charitable and forgiving. Pray a Hail Mary every day. Do this so you can be saved. And don’t forget to smile while doing it!
Put others before myself is something that is not only, good, but a way of life I should live by. Jesus puts others (us) and we should follow his example.
