Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.

Jesus came to Capernaum with his followers,
and on the sabbath he entered the synagogue and taught.
The people were astonished at his teaching,
for he taught them as one having authority and not as the scribes.
In their synagogue was a man with an unclean spirit;
he cried out, “What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth?
Have you come to destroy us?
I know who you are–the Holy One of God!”
Jesus rebuked him and said, “Quiet! Come out of him!”
The unclean spirit convulsed him and with a loud cry came out of him.
All were amazed and asked one another,
“What is this?
A new teaching with authority.
He commands even the unclean spirits and they obey him.”
His fame spread everywhere throughout the whole region of Galilee. MK 1:21-28

Jesus is our Savior “for whom and through whom all things exist, in bringing many children to glory.” He is the leader to our salvation which He made perfect through suffering. Therefore, we must suffer to gain eternal life. We all have one origin, Jesus Christ, the mediator between the Father and His children.

In the Gospel, Mark reveals to us who Jesus is. ”The people were astonished at his teaching,
for he taught them as one having authority and not as the scribes” He is set apart from those who were the highest scholars of the Word of God in the Old Testament. He speaks with authority because He is God.

Last, sometimes we doubt who Jesus is which is interesting because the Devil knows exactly who Jesus is when Jesus casts him out of the possessed body, “In their synagogue was a man with an unclean spirit;
he cried out, “What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth?
Have you come to destroy us?
I know who you are–the Holy One of God!” Mk 1:21-28

The Devil knows who Jesus is because Jesus has Power over him. May we recognize who Jesus is and who the Devil is in our lives. Since Jesus died and rose, through Baptism we have this Power to conquer Evil in our lives. Fight the good fight and overcome evil with the Truth: Jesus Christ!

Today’s challenge: As a young person (or adult) be a sponge and learn as much as you can, especially soak up as much knowledge as you can about God every day for the rest of your life.

Be a servant, become a saint!
