Humbly submit your will to God (thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Brothers and sisters:
You are no longer strangers and sojourners,
but you are fellow citizens with the holy ones
and members of the household of God,
built upon the foundation of the Apostles and prophets,
with Christ Jesus himself as the capstone.
Through him the whole structure is held together
and grows into a temple sacred in the Lord;
in him you also are being built together
into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.  EPH 2:19-22

St. Paul reminds us that we have become different at Baptism.  We are “no longer strangers and sojourners but fellow citizens with the holy ones and members of the household of God”.  These holy ones were founded by Christ with the Apostles and prophets.  The Holy Spirit is in us and guiding us, ask for the Spirit’s help.  Today, remember you are anointed=set apart by God for a special mission and nobody else can fill your shoes.  Our purpose on earth is to know, love, and serve God, do His will on earth, and return to Him.  Allow yourself to be you and honor God for making you who you are.

Jesus went up to the mountain to pray,
and he spent the night in prayer to God.
When day came, he called his disciples to himself,
and from them he chose Twelve, whom he also named Apostles:
Simon, whom he named Peter, and his brother Andrew,
James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew,
Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus,
Simon who was called a Zealot,
and Judas the son of James,
and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.  LK 6:12-16

Today, Jesus simply reminds us of the power of prayer.  Peter Kreeft says, “Prayer changes things”.  If God is outside of time and can foresee in our lives that we will pray for someone or something, He can change it before we or that person we are praying for is ever born.  We are always writing the script of our life, but the final copy does not go to the printing press until death.  When we pray, we go to God’s heart which is outside of time and can change anything if it is His will.  Jesus prayed through the night before a big decision.  Then, He chose the 12 that would go throughout the ancient world to their death preaching the resurrection of Jesus Christ and lay the foundation for the 2 billion Christians in the world today (minus Judas including Matthias).

Today’s challenge: Pray

Become a saint!
