“THERE IS SOMETHING GREATER THAN JONAH HERE.” LK 11:29-32
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
While still more people gathered in the crowd, Jesus said to them,
“This generation is an evil generation;
it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it,
except the sign of Jonah.
Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites,
so will the Son of Man be to this generation.
At the judgment
the queen of the south will rise with the men of this generation
and she will condemn them,
because she came from the ends of the earth
to hear the wisdom of Solomon,
and there is something greater than Solomon here.
At the judgment the men of Nineveh will arise with this generation and condemn it, because at the preaching of Jonah they repented, and there is something greater than Jonah here.” LK 11:29-32
Jesus continues to explain to the crowds gathered around him that He must die and rise to save us. The wisdom of Solomon was powerful, the preaching of repentance by Jonah to the Ninevites helped save a huge city, but Jesus teaches us today that He is God and through His death and resurrection He will set us free from our sin, conquer death, and defeat Satan.
Today, Jesus personally asks each one of us to stop searching in other places for peace, joy, happiness. He alone has the answers. He alone is enough. Listen in prayer. Invite Him into your daily struggles, suffering, prayer, and joys. We are a distracted people and we look in all of the wrong places for happiness. God alone is pure joy, much greater than happiness. He alone gives us what our hearts long for, Himself. Love, Truth, purpose, a direction each day we wake. May He see our belief in Him by the way we treat others, in our prayer, and by fasting.
Today’s challenge: Stop searching for happiness in all of the wrong places. Christ alone gives us what we are looking for. Learn to be still and listen to Christ in your heart. “Ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be open to you.” MT 7:7
Be a servant, become a saint!

Even if you feel that God is not listening, He is. Throw yourself towards Him and ask for His mercy and love. God already loves and forgives you and wants you to be with Him. You don’t have to search for every tiny sign, God will reveal Himself to you in His time, which is perfect. Continue praying and asking His forgiveness so that when He is ready, He can call and you will hear His voice.
What reached out to me was when Jesus said, “it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it”. What this means to me is that there won’t always be a firm confirmation that what we’re doing is right. We might be struggling with something and not know what to do, but if we put our faith in God we will know what the right thing to do is.
God will forgive us if we sin. We should go to confession and repent.
In todays reading I see it as Jesus telling us he will die for us and that he has to in order to save us. And by his death we will be free to go to heaven for eternal life without having to struggle daily. But we have to realize that we cant do this by ourselves and Jesus has to accompany us through out our lives.
Today´s scripture passage is very important. The main message I took from today is that there is greater than an idol, phones or sports. We like to think that our phones or other distractions will make us truly happy. That ´ s where we are all wrong. Jesus nailed those to the cross so that we would have Him and Him only. We need to get out of our little world with our phones and social media, and interact with the living Lord. He is great and mercifully, his love is everlasting. We should feel that if we have Him and Him only, we would be fine. We need to speak to the Lord, in our good and bad.
Jesus was telling us that he will die then arise to save us! He told us how He is more powerful than Jonah, how did we underestimate Him? It’s crazy to me that we all were told the signs and ignored them. How could we do that? We are so full of ourselves that we always think we’re right. This lent I want us to realize and remember who the most important is.
I think Jesus is telling us to look for a sign. “It seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah.” I think what he means by that is we will be searching for a sign like a miracle or something huge but for some of us the sign is right there it can be a person thing or something that is happened and we are too caught up waiting for a big sign.
“This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah. Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will the Son of Man be to this generation.” Jesus compared himself to Jonah because he is also trying to save people to get them into heaven. However Jesus is trying to save the entire world and dedicates his life to saving us thanks to the will of his heavenly father. Jesus was willing to die for us and all he asks in return is for us to believe in him.
Jesus is telling us to repent because He is going to save the world. Just like how Jonah was a sign to the Ninevites, Jesus is a sign to us. Lent is about repenting and atoning for our sins before Easter where Jesus will rise from the dead and conquer sin.
The scripture is trying to tell us that Jesus will die and rise again his death and resurrection will save us from sin and will allow us to go to heaven. Jesus asks us to stop and listen to him so he can save us and lead us on the right path. Other things will make us happy but for a short amount of time but when we are with God Jesus will always love us and give joy ever-lasting.
Jesus is the only thing we need in our life. He is the source of all happiness, but most people don’t realize that. We need to look for happiness in the heavens where we could spend the rest of eternity. We need to choose Jesus, not just to make us happy. Jesus has all the answers, he can heal the sick, wake the dead, and can do anything. We just need to pray and we can be saved.
jesus loves us and iam so happy that he apart of my life and hes a amasing prson and gave his lif of us and God geve his olne son to die for us and give away of sin sand to let us be in heven
Things like money, power, and fame doesn’t grant happiness. What gives us happiness is God. Everything that our heart desires comes from God. There is nothing worth more than God. We take God for granted when instead of turning to Him, we turn to temptation. Society wants us to believe that there is more than God when there isn’t. Society tells us not to pray, that we should be ashamed of praying. We have to learn to ignore what society wants us to do. Humble ourselves before God. Talking to him and listen to him. Living holy and loving God is true happiness.
The story of Jonah and the whale has a deep meaning to it. It tells us that Jesus always has a plan for us. If we feel a calling then we should follow it because Jesus only wants what’s best for us. He wants us to follow the most fulfilling path, but only we can decide if we want to take that path or not. If we put our trust in HIm then we can too, live in happiness with him.
Through John the Baptist and Solomon, people were given wisdom and they repented. But only through Jesus Christ’s Death and Resurrection will we truly be saved.
In this scripture it says that God will not send a sign unless you are good and holy he will send a sign that you need to repent and we need to be holy to have God speak to us and listen to him.
Today we learn that it may not seem like Jesus is listening to us but he truly is he doesn’t talk to us physically he talks to us through our soul he talks to us mentally inside of us.
Jesus is saying that there is something greater than the president or the king or queen. There is an eternal reward, that reward is… Heaven. We must do as Jonah told the Ninevites repent. We have to repent on Earth, to get to Heaven. Or else what is the point of living if we don’t put our faith forward and don’t care about getting back to the father. We MUST, MUST do our best on Earth so that we can get back to the father. And there is something greater than Solomon here.
At the judgment the men of Nineveh will arise with this generation and condemn it, because at the preaching of Jonah they repented, and there is something greater than Jonah here
I think that it says that God is going to save the world and that he gave us wisdom and repented. But only when Jesus rises will the world be saved.
We must look for love in Jesus and in prayer. We can’t just sit back and let it come to us. We also need to find love in the right places, we will look for Jesus in all the wrong places and we don’t know why until we actually pay attention to what is happening. Also the same thing goes with happiness and if we can’t find God we can’t find happiness.
our generation is an evil one. there are robberies, theft, and many other bad things. but even through all of this, God is within us. even though we may not always know it, he is with us. so let us listen to Him wheen He calls us to Him.
Jesus will always be there for us no matter how much we sin, but the best communication is when we come to him first. That is when he is truly listening and hearing our problems and what we have to say to him. Jesus will love us and hear us out no matter how much sin we have on our hearts.
Everyone is always looking for happiness in their lives if I get this I’ll be happy or if I get this I’ll be happy but all you need to be happy is the Lord. We all look for happiness in the wrong places 99% of the time in our lives when are we going to realize that we don´t need things or popularity or money to be happy we just need faith and relationships and especially a relationship with God.
In today’s scripture reflection I think it was saying that we are going to the wrong places looking for happiness and not finding the right kind of happiness so we can ask God and go to God to talk to him and that would bring much greater joy.
God is above everybody. We have to realize that whenever we die we will not have our friends or physical things of this world. So why do we care about these things so much? Maybe it is temptation maybe it’s pure pressure maybe it has become an addiction. It is different for everybody because God made us different. We wants us to care for one another and get us and everybody we can back to heaven.
God is there, we don’t need a sign or a signal or proof that he is real. We just need to trust and give it all to him, invite him into our lives, let him take care of things, and trust in him.
Ask God for help “This generation is an evil generation” God will listen. we need to ask him to help. We need help and God will give us it if we ask him
Jesus says that “this generation is evil. They will ask for a sign but it will not be given here” Jesus says that if we say we have faith, but we ask for a sign for faith then it will not be given. We have to have faith. We have to believe. He won’t always give us a miracle. In the gospel Jesus says many times, “Your faith has saved you”, and then the deaf and blind are healed. He won’t always do that for us so we just have to have faith and believe that God saves us from our stress.
“This generation is an evil generation”, these are the words Jesus said, we need to find out what God wants from us, and what we were sent and made to do. When we sin God knows, when we are being bullied God knows, but what does he not know? God knows all! He knows what choice we are going to make before we make it. We need to respect God, for he is the one who created us and gave us life.
Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will the Son of Man be to this generation
this struck me because he is comparing himself to Jonah and they are completely different.
Our generation is falling apart no one is praying or talking to God. We think that the world is revolves around us. We are upset and depressed but if we would talk to God more often we would be happy and full of joy we would be so excited and loving we would be friends with everyone and not joge we would not be jealous. we would be ready for anything.
“This is an evil generation”.yes it is,people are greedy, and believe that they deserve everything, and if God doesn’t give them what they want
then God doesn’t love them, and that what happens to them it is all of his fault, but its not its based on their choices.
Give wisdom to everyone and get rid of the evil spirit
I think Jesus is telling us to look for a sign. “It seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah.” I think what he means by that is we will be searching for a sign like a miracle or something huge but for some of us the sign is right there it can be a person thing or something that is happened and we are too caught up waiting for a big sign.
What stuck out to me was that Jesus personally asks each one of us to stop searching in other places for peace, joy, happiness. He alone has the answers. He alone is enough. Listen in prayer. Invite Him into your daily struggles, suffering, prayer, and joys. We are a distracted people and we look in all of the wrong places for happiness. God alone is pure joy, much greater than happiness. He alone gives us what our hearts long for, Himself. this stuck out to me because we need Jesus to get away from sin and the devil he is what our hearts most long for not money or fame Jesus is what we need.
I think what God is trying to say is that you should be humble and wise in the brain. If your wise and humble God will enlighten your spiritual well being. Always be wise with your decisions in life.
“because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and there is something greater than Solomon here.”
When we die and reach the end of our Earth life we will find God and get to be with him in a new life. The greatest thing we have been given is Jesus and nothing will be greater than him. He is the “something greater” that we will receive.
He alone is enough…
this phrase really sticks out to me because it shows that God is the one and only God, and he is all we need in life to be successful, atleast spiritually.
God is our joy and love. We do not need to find it anywhere because it is always with us. God does not need to give us a miracle because he already did. He gave us his song out of love for us.
this scripture reflection is about how God will save us even if we aren’t there to see it. Just because we cannot see it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. I feel like people don’t take care of themselves and their spiritual soul.
Other things might seem to help us but ultimately Jesus dying on the cross is the biggest helper and it saves us from bad things like sin and death. We don’t need to look at material things to give us joy and peace, but we need to look to God. God is always there and so is Jesus. Look to Jesus and not anything else for help.
Jesus tells us today that He is God and through resurrection He will set us free from our sin conquer death and takeover Satan. He alone has the answers to everything . He by him self is enough to still our heart and listen to us talk and for him to talk to us.
Our generation doesn’t need a sign because we have to either choose to really believe in God and what the Bible, and what God has taught us or we walk the other way and go do our own thing and ignore what God is trying to tell us.
You may think that there is nothing other than our worldly possessions and we idolize them but as it says in today there is “There is something greater than Jonah here.” So don’t become obsessed with the things of this world but with God instead.
I think in this scripture Jesus is saying to the people to stop looking for signs in other things like, in today’s world, money and social media and fame, but look to him because God is everything we possible need. He created us, he knows us and he knows what we need and when. Nobody else knows that kind of stuff. Only God. Jesus also says that he will save everybody. He did save everybody. Jesus predicts that he will save everybody and die. We look to the cross when we are hurt, when we sin, when anything because Jesus is the truth, the way, and the life of every single human being on earth. Even the sinners.
The story of Jonah and the whale has a deep meaning to it. It tells us that Jesus always has a plan for us. If God calls us then we should listen to it because Jesus only wants what’s best for us. He wants us to follow the best path, but only we can decide if we want to take that path or not.
¨This generation is evil” What this is telling me is that we need to get off of our screens and spend time with Jesus. The evil of this generation is our electronics. Phones, TV, computers ect. During lent Jesus is telling us to get rid of this evil by fasting from them, and replacing that time by praying to Him
Jesus is greater. That’s what the scripture is telling us but we still don’t follow him. Why don’t we follow Him like we followed Johanna? Today we need to think about if we are following Jesus or not. If we are truly following Him or just saying we believe but don’t.
Sometimes suffering can bring us closer to Jesus. Ever since this Lent season started, I have felt like I have been getting closer to God. I have started to learn more about why it´s so important to pray and go to Church. I have also gotten a little better at silence and having peace. I feel like God is calling me to something. I get this feeling every time I look at the cross. I also get this feeling every time I look at something spiritual.
What stuck out to me was when Jesus said “This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah. Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will the Son of Man be to this generation.” This part stuck out to me because I felt like Jesus was telling them that people are like “i don’t believe it until i see it.” Jesus told them that you don’t need a visible sign that He saved us. He came down from Heaven as a baby! He grew up and experienced everything we do! He didn’t just come down as a man and told them to believe him. He carried up our sins to cross and died for us!
The prophets are not telling us that we need a sign, they’re telling us that we don’t, because we already have the Eucharist. We’re closer to Jesus when we have communion than they ever were.
It won’t matter in the end if you are successful, have good grades, go to a good school. It will not get you to Heaven alone. We need God to get to Heaven. In our generation, it is hard to find a sign because we are so distracted by everything else. We should try our best to listen to God and talk to Him, hear Him.
I think this scripture is about how all the prophets came to prepare the way for Jesus. Jesus is the person that all the prophets have been speaking of, and now he is here. Jesus is greater than any other prophet.
I think that this is saying that we are filled with so much temptation and evil from the devil. But we must not give into that temptation. Instead we should seek God and look for the signs he is giving us. If we ever feel that we are going to be tempted to do something bad then we need to immediately turn to God and ask for his guidance to guide us back to him.
God doesn’t need to show us that he is truly God. We should trust him and his plans for us. During Lent we should strive to get closer to him, to be able to grow in trust with him.
what the scripture is telling me is that there is always evil inside of us and Jonah is the representation of Jesus and will save us all. He means this by rising from the dead and there is something greater than us here. We need wisdom to go to heaven and God has been trying to teach us that for thousands of years.
Jesus Christ died for us in order to save us from our sins. Instead of focusing on the things that don’t matter and won’t help us get to Heaven or grow in holiness, we need to start focusing on God and being more aware of Him and realizing what He has done for us. Everything Jesus did was all for us. There is more to life than material goods, and once we start leaving those things behind, we can be more aware of God.
Jesus is the sign for a new life in heaven and a renewal in God. he is the sign of salvation which is what is talked about in the gospel today. the Jews we searching for some leader to come in and free them from the Romans and evil kings they believed that the savior would be some military leader or king not someone who came to die for our sins
We are searching for the wrong things in life. We need to seek Jesus in our life. Our phones have taken the spot of Jesus in our daily life. We need to get closer to God so that we may live a joyful life down on Earth and that we may go up to heaven and be happy with God.
“and there is something greater than Jonah here” I think that this means that we are not the ones who do great things, but God is, without God working in us we would not be fully joyful. So we should let God into our hearts this lent and allow Him to show us our weaknesses and our strengths so we can become better people in this world.
The Ninevites are people who don’t make smart decisions. Jonah was sent to help free them from their sins and have them confess. Jonah did not want to go but God found him, and Jonah went. Even if you don’t want to do something sacrifice it for God. He protects you and your family everyday so you can do one little thing for him.
Jesus is telling us that He is enough. Jesus is the way to eternal happiness. We need to follow Him.
we want god to send a sigh to us so that we can believe. in one of the homilies i heard this week father said that seeing is not believing. we not need to see to believe in Christ. give yourself fully and he will work wonders in you and you will believe without seeing.
I think today’s gospel is trying to keep the word of God and not forget it. In the gospel today it tells us about our generation and how it is rotting and changing directions. This new generation needs to discover Jesus. Even though some say were fine and always can just go to church and God will forgive us right away. That can’t always happen we need more people in the faith that we have ever had at this point of time, because of how many people are drifting away from GOD
“This generation is an evil generation.” This stood out to me because it is mostly true. We all do things that the devil has tempted us to do. Some people smoke and they can’t stop because it is addicting for some. We all get tempted by many things and when we know that it is wrong we still do it. We need to learn that when we pray to God that he is there for us. He listens to us. He wants us all to be safe. He made us for a purpose. Sure not for what the devil wants us to do but for what God put us here for. We all come from hard relationships in families. We need to understand that God will never leave us.
This scripture today was really good. It said we seek a sign but the only sign that will be given is the sign of Jonah. One part that really stick out to me was the part that said the queen of the south will rise with the men of this generation and she will condemn them, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and there is something greater than Solomon here.
“This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah. Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites,” I think that this shows that we need to shape up our act. God wants us to succeed but we need to want to succeed. We need to start loving Him with our whole heart.
In the start of this scripture it is said that this generation is an evil generation, whether that’s this generation or the generation from his time, we need a leader to step up to lead the faith whether that’s the pope, Father Mike Schmidt’s or others. We need to stay away from the devil and closer to God.
In todays scripture I think that Jesus is trying to tell us that our generation now is just falling apart and getting further away from Jesus. What we have to do is get closer to God and rising our Generation for Him and keep it clean so that all of us grow closer to God.
“it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it” Jesus will show us many things, but some things we need to just have faith about. He doesn’t need to show us something every time we have trouble believing in him. We just need to trust in him and listen to his word.
When Jesus is saying that He is going to die for our sins, I feel like for me I would get the hint. To the people, He doesn’t just come right out and say it like He did to the Disciples. If I was one of those people in the crowd, I think I would’ve heard what Jesus said but not really get the true meaning.
I think the scripture is saying that we are all equal, neither greater than one. We are all small and so less great as God. God went out of His way to create each and everyone one of us. He takes time to remember each of us, so we must remember Him. The Lord our God wants us to be in Heaven with Him and we must also want that. Fasting helps us be more disciplined therefore helping our journey to Heaven.
This Gospel is a whole lot of confusion. But my take away from it is that the people forgot about God. They looked for more, but there was no more. God is all. Jesus compares himself to Jonah in this situation. He pretty much just says that he will be the one to sacrifice himself for all of us.
“Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will the Son of Man be to this generation.” Was the phrase that stuck out to me. It’s saying that as Jonah was a sign to the people to follow God’s will, Jesus teaches us to follow His will. Jesus is the sign that we asked for, He’s a sign that God will bring us to Him.
It is saying that some of us may not still go to mass and pray to God. We need to try our best to get more people to go to mass and not wander away from God. It might take some time to do, but we will feel better once we have done it.
This Scripture is talking about how evil this generation is and how many bad things are going on today present but the scripture also talks about how the queen will also help them to change and that she will commend them which I think its talking about Mary who will helps us during this time of lent.
God doesn’t need to show us that he is truly God. We should trust him and his plans for us. During Lent we should strive to get closer to him, to be able to grow in trust with him.
I think this is telling us to stop trying to look for happiness, but to realize that God is happiness and love and He is all we need in our life to be truly happy. We don’t need some good material that will only make us happy for a short amount of time. God will keep us happy all through our and He is the only one that has all of the answers. We are so selfish and ignorant that we think we can live this life on our own and find happiness through objects.
One thing that stuck out to me was this line: “This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it,
except the sign of Jonah.” In today’s world everyone needs a sign for everything. They need a sign on simply anything they need. What Jesus is talking about here is having true faith. We all beg for reassurance that God is real but would it be so hard to just believe? To run off the belief that Jesus was God and what he did on earth? Shouldn’t that be enough to convince you that God is real? Think about it, Jesus has done so many things for us yet we still need a sign. How unbelievable is that. Have faith in what you believe in. Don’t let the world try to change you.
Today’s scripture talks about seeking a sign, and that Jesus is the sign for their generation. We are continuously waiting for Jesus’s second coming, and we should always be ready for him to come. Jesus is a greater sign than any other. He is greater than any prophet or saint. Jesus is a great gift that we should be expecting, and He should be the only one we are waiting for.
I think the Scripture is telling us to repent. We have to be truly sorry for our sins. When we sin we hurt Jesus. When Jesus died he felt the weight of everyone’s sins. When we go to confession we have to be serious and truly sorry. We have to have repentance.
We always want to the nicest newest things because we think they are the best. We always want the most durable things so they can’t break as well. What if I told you there was something greater than those things? Would you believe me? Would you rather have the newest rolex with millions of dollars worth of diamonds on it, or an eternity in heaven. A rolex will not get you eternal happiness, but God will. Nothing is better than God, and nothing will ever be better than God. That is a fact.
God is always calling us to be more. To be more fully in Him. To love Him as He loves us. God never abandons us. So we can’t abandon Him. We are made in God’s image and called to become like Him. He alone fulfills us. He alone can make us whole. We are missing God. We need God. Let God be part of you.
I think God is trying to tell us that HE is always watching and there will not be a moment in time where he will not know about us or he would cease to exist. God knows our opinions on everything and when we sin and why
Jesus continues to explain to the crowds gathered around him that He must die and rise to save us.
the only way for us to have lived a better life was for Christ to die for us on the cross. We would have to suffer inner pain even if we wouldn’t have died
“This generation is an evil generation.” This stuck out to me because our generation is based off of the media and electronics. We need to focus more on God and our religion rather than electronics. We all need to pray more often and spend less time on our electronics.
Jesus is alone enough. He is everything and more of what we need. We just get distracted on other things, and we forget that Jesus is what we need.
i think this is trying to say that always pay attention God could be talking to you and you never know it and it could also be a sign. when you ask Jesus something he will always answer you just have to pay attention.
“and there is something greater” this shows us that no matter what that be technolegy, fame, power, whatever, Jesus will always be greater than it all because he is the almighty merciful God that will always help us when we fall.
Today scripture said to me that God has all we need. We do not need fame or fortune to be happy. If we are with God and truly listen to him and his word we will be happy. We could have everything in the world and not be happy because we will always have a spot in our hearts for God. If we pray and give ourselves to help others follow him we will be happier than the richest people alive.
What i got from this reading is that we need to find peace in Jesus because that is where we will be truly peaceful and happy.
I think what the scripture is saying is that if we dont listen to the word of God, on judgment day we wouldn’t go to Heaven.
Jesus is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. He is all loving, all knowing, and everywhere at once. When God granted Solomon wisdom, He only gifted Solomon a fraction of a fraction of God’s knowledge. This means that we get everything from God, and all of the gifts that we get are from God, and the presence of God in us.
What stuck out to me is that God alone is enough. This stuck out to me because it’s showing that we don’t have to find anything else because God is always there to give you what you need to full fill those needs he’s always waiting for you and all you have to do is come to him.
Jesus sends us signs since He died on the cross. Signs like when a loved one dies you still see something to remind you of them. Jesus loves us and wants us to have a happy life but like He said ‘Pick up your cross and follow me’ we all have to struggle a little bit before we win heaven.
“This generation is an evil generation.” does that sound familiar? I think it does, it basically describes our generation. right now, there are some of the worst things in history going on right now. racism, war, poverty. all because of US, not other people, us. we are the cause of the WORST things that have ever happened. we need to start changing, because if we don’t, there won’t be anything left to save.
“He will set us free from our sin, conquer death, and defeat Satan.” God gave us free will and we abused our power. We fell into the temptation of Satan, and we deserve the punishment of death, but Jesus did that punishment for us. We need to reach out to Jesus everyday, and open our hearts to him. God gave us confession, so that we could be forgiven. Every time we go to confession we are cleaning our souls.
God is always listening to our prayers and always gives us an answer even when we don’t think we see it. Never think God is never caring about you because He does and He always listens and answers you.
Jesus personally asks each one of us to stop searching in other places for peace, joy, happiness. He alone has the answers. He answers every question there is and we go off and ask other people and go to different places for answers even though we can just ask Him in prayer. We just need to pray for the answers that are all you need to do and he will answer every question you have.
“This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah.” This stuck out to me because it is like our generation is the evil generation and God won’t give us a sign. Except He probably has given us so many signs but we don’t recognize it as a sign or we just don’t care. We need to look for the signs that God is giving us and we need to recognize and embrace those signs.
Most people look to other things for true happiness but if you want true happiness turn away from distractions and turn to God. God is the only thing that can help you get to true happiness is God.
I think that this passage is trying to tell us that we need to be more Christ-Like. God wants us to succeed but we need to want to succeed. We need to start loving Him with our whole heart.
Just as Jonah is a sign to the Ninevites, Jesus is a sign to us. We need to find our way to Him. We may go off the trail sometimes, but must find our way back.
because at the preaching of Jonah they repented, and there is something greater than Jonah here.” When we repent all of our sins are washed away. Jesus has washed us clean and there is something bigger than that. Like Jesus is with us.
what stuck out to me is the signs God gave us and we ignored. Us as people are so full and greedy of ourselves because God died on the cross for us and he doesn’t ask for much. But we decide to break the ten commandments and sin all the time because the thing we are doing you may think is cool and just doing it for your ego. But that wont matter in the end and we have to understand it doesn’t matter what others think about you its what God thinks about you and his judgment not others people judgment. We just have to be the best person you can be and find people that will help you do better and encourage you to do the right thing.
