Prayer Prompt before reading MT 22:1-14 Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray well, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father is and God the Son so that I may know who I am.
“THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN MAY BE LIKENED TO A KING WHO GAVE A WEDDING FEAST FOR HIS SON.” MT 22:1-14
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Today, Jesus teaches us that we will be judged and sin has serious consequences. Sin is it’s own consequence. We have all suffered the results of bad choices/sin. Who are the servants bringing in the guests? Christian missionaries. We are called to be missionaries in our own homes, schools, businesses, and communities. What is the requirement to enter the Kingdom? Repentance (change) of mind and heart (Greek-metanoia). We then die to self (kill our ego), carry our crosses, put on Christ, love in deeds and if needed use words.
What does the wedding garment represent? Repentance. As John the Baptist preached from the beginning, the criteria to enter the Kingdom is repent and be baptized. We can be holy now which means heaven can be brought to earth through us by doing the Father’s will (Thy Kingdom come Thy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven). He has given us all we need, the bread that is literally Himself, reconciliation, and His Holy Spirit. Go tell everyone in your home the Good News! The world needs saints right now. Be not afraid!
Today’s challenge: If you are baptized, continue to live out your baptismal vows to reject Satan and grow closer to Christ striving for holiness and modeling Christ for others to see. If you know someone who is not baptized, encourage them to sign up for a RCIA class to discover Jesus. Just be friends with someone and they should see how your faith influences all parts of your life and they will want to be like you, Christ is infectious! Holiness is attractive.

todays scripture has told me that Jesus teaches us that we will be judged and sin has serious consequences.sin is its own consequence.the world needs saints right now and we are to be not afraid.
Today’s Gospel tells us how we are supposed to answer gods’daily invitations into our lives. And we should try our best to not decline his invitations.
In today’s gospel Jesus says “Many are invited, but few are chosen.” Just because God invites us to him does not mean that we are anomatically going to get into the kingdom of heaven. We have to work at it to so that we can be chosen by God.
Today Jesus tells us how he will change things and we shall be his people. He wants to transform our hearts but we need to open up to him. He says he will do these things to the nations and people that recognize his holiness.
I think that those who didnt come to the wedding represent satin because they mistreated the servants and refused to go to the wedding so they died and the people who the servants did find both good and bad represent how God will welcome anyone who will come to him.
“everything is ready; come to the feast.” This stuck out to me because Jesus is ready for us in heaven but we are’t ready yet. So we have to believe in Jesus so we can go to heaven.
In today´s gospel, Jesus talks about a parable that there was a feast that was getting ready to be celebrated and that the king sent out his servants to invite them to the wedding if they were worthy. Jesus is trying to tell us that it is like Us trying to go to church and how we should look fancy to meet God. He wants us to spread the word of God to invite people to going to church more often..
“Behold, I have prepared my banquet, my calves and fattened cattle are killed, and everything is ready; come to the feast.”’
Some ignored the invitation and went away, one to his farm, another to his business. The rest laid hold of his servants, mistreated them, and killed them”. Jesus give us everything we need to make it to heaven we just need to take action.
What I took from today’s gospel is that God will judge us and that we should try our best to not sin. Because if we sin there will be consequences.
Today Jesus said that “many are invited, but few are chosen” which to me says that we were all made to go to heaven but you have work to do before you get to go.
“Many are invited, but few are chosen.” This is talking about Heaven everyone is invited to heaven but only those who put effort into their faith are actually chosen to go in. We all need to put effort into trying to form a better relationship with God. We were made to go to Heaven not to just stay at earth forever.
The part of this Gospel that stood out to me the part where the king says,”Go out, therefore, into the main roads
and invite to the feast whomever you find.” This meant to me that we aren’t only supposed to
invite the people we are comfortable talking to or the people we like, but everyone we meet.
in today’s Gospel Jesus is telling us to repent and offer our sins up to God, so we can enter the kingdom of heaven.
Today’s Gospel shows God promising the people to cleanse them, to give them a new spirit, to give them all of these wonderful things and to show the people he is truly our Lord. And some of us take it for granted. This Gospel told me to be more thankful for all that God has given us.
What i got out of this gospel was that at the the king end the king said for them to bind his hands and feet and send him to the wailing and grinding of teeth. Also then said that many are invited but few are chosen. what that means to me is that everyone has the choice to enter Jesus ´ kingdom but not everyone chooses the right path to take and some take a different and bad path.
the part that stood out to me was the verses at the end of the gospel. they confused me because a lot of people were invited, I’m assuming the people on the streets, and some of them may not have wedding garments. so the king threw him out because he didn’t have something. if the wedding garments symbolize repentance does that mean he is a sinner? I think maybe he represented something bad, and that’s why he was bound and thrown out.
In todays Gospel Jesus shows us that the people in his kingdom will not all only be the wealthy but ordinary people. We just need to accept his invitation and come to his banquet.
Jesus is telling me today that even though we can reject him, dislike him, insult him, he’ll always accept us as his family.
think what would jesus do before doing anything
In the gospel that i read i feel like the man that was thrown out represents Jesus and the man that threw him represents the jews that rejected him him.
Jesus is saying that when people get married the woman this most likely to have a white dress, and when we were baptized, we wore white.
I feel like it was a good representation of how all of us can go to heaven. no matter how sinful or holy we are. We are all children of God
Always stick to what Jesus tells you. Don’t let saten or other people tell you other whys.
think what would jesus do before doing anything
I think Jesus is saying that when we sin in order to live forever with him we have to repent our sins. This stuck with me because it reveals us to how much we sin without repenting.

I would think what would Jesus do when i think if I do this what will happen because if you lied you will get in more trouble then if you would tell the truth so think what would Jesus do.

Gospel quote: “Those who were invited were not worthy to come.”. I think means that all are invited to Heaven, but like the man wearing normal garments instead of wedding garments, our own actions decide whether we are worthy to go to Heaven or not.
The part of the parable that stuck with me was that many are invited, but few are chosen. I think that means only the worthiest people (the people who follow Jesus and don’t care about anything else) were chosen to actually come to the wedding.

The part of the parable that stuck in my heart was the man without the wedding garment. I don’t really understand that but maybe it is something about Baptism, Repentance, and getting rid of original sin. Another Phrase I liked was “Many are invited, but few are chosen.” -Matthew 22:14.

I think this was supposed to tell that, at the end of time, those who are not with Christ will be sent to hell.
The part of the gospel that stuck with me was the man in the white garment. I thought it was talking about baptism.
In the parable what stuck out to me was how the man with no wedding garment was bound and was thrown out to the darkness outside. What I think that Jesus is trying to tell us here is that if you choose not to follow him you will not be allowed in heaven.

I don’t exactly know what it means but I think the ones that were invited were the one that didn’t care that much for him but Jesus still invited them cause Jesus still cared for the ones that didn’t care. I really didn’t know that a white garment meant baptism. And also in the gospel who are the troops that got sent out to find people to invatation.

“Many are invited, but few are chosen.” This part stuck out to me because it’s Jesus saying that anyone can go to heaven if they choose. It reminds me of Father Schibi’s homily on Tuesday when he said that if we keep our main focus on God and nothing else, we will get to Heaven.
“Many are invited, but few are chosen.”. The Gospel today said something to me, and the one thing that i grasped is that trust is earned. Yes, God loves us, and he made us. but we are all human… we lie, we don’t listen, we are not trustworthy. We have to show that we are trustworthy, and earn the trust.
The way I interpreted todays Gospel was, everyone is invited to Heaven but only select people will make it into Heaven, just because you were invited doesn’t mean you will be allowed in, like in todays Gospel when the wedding guest was turned away because he was not wearing traditional wedding garments, they then said to bound his hands and feet and throw him into the darkness. The lesson to learn from today is God will love you and invite you into Heaven but just because you were invited doesn’t mean you’ll necesarally make it into Heaven. Have a great day, God bless!
We must become missionaries of Christ so that other people discover the goodness of God. Helping others turn to Christ is one of the best things you could achieve as a Catholic and the best part is that anyone can do it. Some of the saints are great examples of that.
This Gospel shows how God is merciful and accepting. He loves us and has a spot already prepared for us in heaven. The cattle are slaughtered, he is prepared for us to share joy with him in heaven. The one without the wedding garment lacking a clean soul. We must repent and go be our own missionaries to others. This is what we are called to do. Follow Christ with our brothers.
What stood out to me in this scripture reflection was this Then the king said to his attendants, ¨Bind his hands and feet, and cast him into the darkness outside, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.’ Many are invited, but few are chosen.” I think God was saying that even one wrong move can take you away from God. So that is why i picked that part.
Today in the Gospel, it said how many people are invited to things but few are chosen. Just like we are invited to the kingdom of Heaven, few are chosen based on what they have done. If we always put God first over everything, we would be one of those few being chosen. However, if we do not put God above all and we do other bad things in life, we will not be chosen into heaven.
In today´s gospel, it talks about a wedding feast held for a son. “The Kingdom of heaven may be likened to a king
who gave a wedding feast for his son.´´ and during it the king sends out troops to go get people to come to the wedding, but during that some of the people took the servants and killed them. So the king at there city set to fire! Near the end of the end of the Gospel it talks about someone coming to the wedding while not being clothed in a wedding garment, so for some reason the king ties his hands and has him killed.
Honestly today’s Gospel confused me a little bit at first. I didn’t fully understand until I read the whole thing. But to me it sounds like it is saying that some will not make it to heaven. And to get there you have to be good.
In the gospel Jesus is telling a story to the people about a kingdom who has a feast and people refuse to come so the king tell the servants to ask them again but they refuse again the the servants kill them. The king tells his guards to find the servants and kills them for doing what they did.

He could have meant that that is what he will do
with your sin at confeshen so yor sin reterns to hell
but your sperit dose not go with it
In the Gospel today, the king told everyone that he had a feast for his son but not a lot of people came. The people who did come mistreated his servants and killed them. He was very mad and then sent his army to find the murderers so they found them and burned their city. The king said to his servants go out and invite anyone you see to the wedding.
” Many are invited, but few are chosen.” Even if this isn’t what this sentence means, I feel like it means to me that God invites all to heaven but many still refuse to accept him.
Jesus was hosting a first and told his servants to gather people yet they refused to come. Then a second time he gathered other servants and told them to say “Behold, I have prepared my banquet, my calves and fattened are killed, and everything Is ready; come to the feast.” Then the king got enraged and sent his troops. The king told his troops to invite anyone they saw, bad look alike, and good look alike. But the king invited a lot but few were chosen.
Sin is it’s own consequence. this is the sentence that suck to me. We are the one that sinned not god or anyone else. So with that said it is a consequence if we sin.

The man that is not wearing wedding garments symbolizes a man living in sin and when they tell him he can not come to the wedding that’s like sinners being banished from Heaven to hell. When we sin and turn away from Jesus, sin leaves a mark on our soul until confession. We must confess our sins and turn back to Jesus to be saved.
In today’s reading, God talks about the holiness of is name. God is forever powerful as he is merciful. God can cleanse us of our sins and impurities which proves his powerfulness.
Many people will be invited to the Kingdom of God, but few are chosen. You must follow the Lord, live the correct life, and follow the commandments. Although the man still came, he was turned away.
What is the requirement to enter the Kingdom? Repentance (change) of mind and heart (Greek-metanoia). We then die to self (kill our ego), carry our crosses, put on Christ, love in deeds and if needed use words. In my mind this means that to get to Heaven you need and clean heart and mind that is not full of sin and other bad stuff.It also says how you need to uses nice words to other people and not cuss. And to also carry the cross Jesus carried witch mean to help love others and use kind words and just be Christ like.
Many are invited, but few are chosen.” I feel like this sticks out to me because we are all welcomed/called into heaven but from human default we fall short. So many are invited into God’s kingdom but few strive hard enough or get cast into temptation. God’s kingdom is our one true home.
in today’s gospel what i got form it was that if you are invited into heaven and will enter angels/someone will give you something (wedding robes) to signify you are pure and able to enter into the kingdom of heaven. i think the man was thrown out because he did not have a wedding robe which basically meant he did not belong there, so they cast him outside for animals or some other monster to eat him up.

People were treating the king’s servants badly and killed them. They did not deserve to be killed so the king sent his troops to find the murderers. Then the king sent the murderers to the dark side.
Many are invited, but few are chosen.” I chose this quote because Gods calls us all so all are invited but only few do what he has said. We have to remember to always trust in God. I always found it interesting that it’s called a highway to hell but a stairway to heaven. It’s because a lot go on the highway because it’s easy, but the stairway isn’t.
I like this analogy, Audrey. I agree. We have to do hard things to get the greatest of rewards.
When reading the end of the gospel there was a servant that was not wearing a wedding garment I thought about how sometimes we are told not to do things or told to do things and we disobey. God does not want to punish us but if we are disobeying him over and over again we are gonna be separated from god. So we´ll face a place where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.’
Jesus welcomes evertone to come with him. if it is eating or anything even if he still will envite anyone who comes no matter who.
“Some ignored the invitation and went away”. This stook out to me becausse it reminded me about how some people reject the path that God gave them. It reminds me about how I need to listen to God in my life.

The verse that stuck out to me was ”don’t be afraid”.It means to me that I don’t need to not be able to do anything just cause I’m afraid.
