“JESUS TURNED AND SAW THEM FOLLOWING HIM AND SAID TO THEM,”WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?” JN 1:35-42
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
John was standing with two of his disciples,
and as he watched Jesus walk by, he said,
“Behold, the Lamb of God.”
The two disciples heard what he said and followed Jesus.
Jesus turned and saw them following him and said to them,
“What are you looking for?”
They said to him, “Rabbi” (which translated means Teacher),
“where are you staying?”
He said to them, “Come, and you will see.”
So they went and saw where he was staying,
and they stayed with him that day.
It was about four in the afternoon.
Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter,
was one of the two who heard John and followed Jesus.
He first found his own brother Simon and told him,
“We have found the Messiah,” which is translated Christ.
Then he brought him to Jesus.
Jesus looked at him and said,
“You are Simon the son of John;
you will be called Cephas,” which is translated Peter. JN 1:35-42
John the Baptist reveals to us yesterday and today that Jesus truly is the Messiah, the Christ. This has been a long awaited journey for the Jews, the chosen people. What I find most interesting is what Jesus asks once the first people recognize Him for who He is, “What are you looking for?”
There are many times in my life when I asked that question and could not answer it or I came up with a lot of unfulfilling answers. We are about to embark upon the next semester of our studies, “What are you looking for?” or “What do you want out of it?” We are made for purpose and mission so we are called to seek the essence or the purpose of what we are about to do.
Where does our drive, motivation, or desire to wake up and do something come from? Why don’t we have the desire, drive, and motivation to do things? Many people will say they are seeking happiness, but what I have found to be true is that I seek meaningful relationships.
God became Man so we could have a personal relationship with Him. Nobody else believes this except those who follow Christ because that is what He promises. We will continue to fail in seeking and finding happiness if we do not seek and find the Messiah, the Christ, the Lamb of God, the King of the Universe and have a personal relationship with Him.
When we do, we will be so excited to tell others like Andrew, “We have found the Messiah!” I have found that when I put Christ at the center of my life I am happier, holier, and live with purpose each moment of the day. Christ died to be with you in the depths of your heart, your suffering, your joys, your sorrows, your prayer. Let Him have it!
Today’s challenge: “What are you looking for?” Purpose. Joy. Peace. God created you, Jesus saved you, and the Holy Spirit dwells within you. We are never alone. God can help you find what you are looking for. He put the seeking in you to find Him.
Be a servant, be a saint today!

“Come, and you will see.” This stuck out to me because if we follow Jesus and let him lead the way and put all our trust in him, we will see why it was worth giving our life to him. We will get the life we were made to have if we let Jesus take control.
Today in Scripture we learn that God is giving us a call to find our gifts from him before we leave. We need to understand God’s challenge to us and accomplish it. We need to wait and not be in a rush to find our call to God cause he will show us throughout our lives.
“Come, and you will see.” We need to follow God so he can show us the path to holiness and Strive to be more like him. (also the thing I will be striving for is too try and make people laugh or be someone they can talk too because people always have problems.)
Jesus turned and saw them following him and said to them, “What are you looking for?” This phrase stuck out to me because Jesus wasn’t just asking the disciples but he is also asking us. He asks us what we are looking for. Are we looking to grow closer to Him, know Him but not want to grow closer, or not even want to know Him at all? We need to make a decision and stick to it. He will love us no matter what we pick. He will always be there waiting for us to come to Him.
Jesus is always with us no matter what situation we are in, He died so that we could have a relationship with Him. He shows us that He is the Messiah and the way to true happiness through His teachings.
Today’s scripture says to me that we need to trust God to be saved. In today’s gospel Jesus calls his first disciples. Andrew is one of them because he was a follower of John the Baptist and he trusted him when he said that Jesus is the messiah. This trust this faith is what we need to have for God. He loves us and he sent his only son to save us. We need to trust him to get to heaven and also lead others in the faith.
If we put God first before all things we will have all that we need. God will provide for us and teach us the way of life and we will follow his path for us and live the best way possible. But first we need to drop everything and find him.
I am looking for peace, joy and Purpose.
Whenever we have a question, Jesus has an answer for us. He is always there to help us and we must listen for Him. He wants to help us and we must find Him. Jesus never ignores us, we just must look harder to find Him. He is never too busy to help us. Nothing we do will make Him love us less. When you do find Jesus, you might not necessarily get what you want. He gives us what we need. If we ask and He doesn’t give it to us, then we don’t need it.
that for us to find time to make a relationship with God and that we listen when he talks. We have to find that in the silence of our hearts. the love that he gives to us and the joy we have to keep going and to have peace with our-self.
I think today we are getting told to follow Jesus because he is the lamb of God and he will be a great teacher for us. We are given several choices everyday and we have to decide to follow him and make the right choice because he is the Lamb of God and following him will get us to heaven.
In the Gospel today John the Baptist is with 2 of his disciples and Jesus walks past them. John says, “Behold, the Lamb of God,” after he said this since they knew John wise they went after Jesus and asked him where he was staying and Jesus told them to follow him. This shows us that although Jesus is Seeking us out we also have to chase after him he wants us to show his love for him back even if he loves us unconditionally.
Jesus is God’s Word and he became a human being, full of life, light, grace and truth. He relates to ‘all things’ and ‘all people’, is not overcome by evil, gives ‘power to become children of God’, is related to God like an only child to a parent, and is ‘close to the Father’s heart’.
We hear a lot, trust in God, God will help you. But what exactly does that mean? For something we hear so much yet not fully understand, its hard to put your trust in it. You don’t know if things will get better if you pray, or hope. So we run to things that we know will give us easy temporary happiness in things like games, music, and tiktok. But that is exsactly what it is, temporary joy. Some people ask how will things get better with God? Even if things don’t get better or your problems aren’t solved, you have the joy of Christ in you, which will bring you joy and happiness forever. Not temporary.

The two disciples followed John’s word without question. John the Baptist is an amazing example of what a leader should do. To not betray the trust of our followers, to serve as a leader. Jesus renames Peter, showing that he will recreate us in his image, the image of love. Peter also means petra, or rock. When Jesus gives Peter the keys to the kingdom, and calls him the rock of the church, he is telling us to follow and respect the pope. Especially through times of trouble and turmoil. We need to follow the pope’s lead on the path to love and holiness.
i think this is about how we need to follow gad and we will reconize what he does for us and that he loves us.
The Scripture today caused me to think about mass because it said ” Behold the Lamb Of God” and we say that at mass. Also They were talking about the real living body.
This tells me that Jesus is always searching for us and wants us to be with him. Jesus just wanted to be with john and the 2 disciples he was so welcoming. Jesus welcomes us to be with him and his father and he wants us to follow him and sit and talk with him.
Jesus is saying here that he wants us to be like him and not be scared of his power but to love his beauty.
Today the scripture is telling me that Jesus is calling us and we need to listen and follow him. I can use this in daily life to remember that I need to listen to Jesus to go down the right path, instead of going down the wrong path. We have to believe and focus on what Jesus is telling us.
We need to answer when we hear God calling us. He said “Come and you will see”. Once we follow him we will rejoice, saying “We have found the Messiah!”
In telling us to come and see where he is staying he tells us to follow him to heaven.
John was standing with two of his disciples, and as he watched Jesus walk by, he said, “Behold, the Lamb of God.” Jesus has revealed to us that he is really the Messiah, and that he is the son of God.
In today’s scripture John the Baptist reveals to us yesterday and today that Jesus truly is the Messiah, the Christ.God sent his own Son to have a personal relationship with Him.Which is Jesus who is our Savior.
I think the Gospel was telling us that Jesus is the Messiah. We should follow him when we hear his voice. Jesus loves us and he wants to teach us how to love like him.
The thing that stuck out to me was the fact that John’s 2 disciples just left him and started to follow Jesus even with the fact that they didn’t know him, what he was doing or where he was going but they trusted. Sometimes in life we need to do the same thing. We often get sidetracked and stop following God then we lose a relationship with him. So we must follow him blindly like the two men that followed Jesus. If we follow God we will always come out happy in the end.
I think today Jesus is calling us to just be with Him. To realize that Jesus is enough. Just as Simon Peter and Andrew stayed with him. “So they went and saw where he was staying,
and they stayed with him that day.”
Jesus is the true source of happiness, not any worldy thing.
Something that I got out of this is,”What is your reason for something that you are doing.” I think that this is important because we need to zoom out, and look at what we are doing and why we are doing it. We have think “Is this what Jesus wants for us.” Someone that I saw when I was at my Grandmas Church, it wasn’t a Catholic Church, and the pastor said,”You have to think like, is this helping me grow closer to Christ, and that is how I try to live my life today.
Today’s scripture is telling us to find what we are looking for. We need to pray to God to find out that. God wants to hear our prayers and help us with what we are praying for. When you start to pray everyday you become happier and holier.
In this gospel, John and his disciples saw Jesus and followed him. They went to where he stayed and Simon Peter came. Yesterday, John the baptist revealed how Jesus is truly the Messiah, but since this has been such a long journey, we ask ourselves, what are we looking for. Now, people want to live a happy lifestyle and live freely, but what are we actually looking for? Today, we should looking for Him, Jesus and be happy and true to Christ.
God is everything and he will lead us to heaven
What stuck out to me was Jesus saying, ” What are you looking for ” like how we sometimes ask that looking for Jesus in our life. When we look for Jesus we need to pray to talk to him and see that he want us with him.
(The two disciples heard what he said and followed Jesus.Jesus turned and saw them following him and said to them, “What are you looking for?”) This is what stuck out to me in the scripture for today. It tells us that God knows us and he wants to help us by knowing what we are seeking in life.
If you find yourself lost just pray to the Lord for help. The Lord may not do it exactly how you ask but he will exceed your prayer. Find the Lord and pray if you find yourself lost. The Lord will provide if you consistently pray.
What stood out to me was when John said “Behold, the Lamb of God” and the other 2 men instantly followed Jesus. It stood out to me, because it only takes a few words to spread the word of God. nothing more. It really motivates me to tell others and teach people about the Lord.
Today I think Jesus is trying to tell me to follow him. When John saw Jesus right away he knew it was Christ the Messiah. I think Jesus wants us to get to know Him so well that when we die we will recognize the face of Jesus. I think He is also trying to tell us to help other people become followers because John was an example for his disciples and they turned and followed Jesus also.
I think that when John said “Behold, lamb of God” And some others followed, it represents us and how important it is to represent our faith.
Jesus is calling you to be a friend to him. Just think about it! A friend to the Messiah, the Lord Almighty. He wants to be friends with you. We are sinners, but Jesus is giving us a second chance. So don’t let it pass by.
“What are you looking for?” I think that this means that what we are looking for is Jesus not money or anything you don´t need
This passage is about how we need to follow Jesus so we can get to heaven and have a personal relationship with him.
We need to follow Jesus like Simon and Andrew.
This scripture tells me that when we have new life we need to make new decisions and we needed to make changes to how we live so we can become closer to god and not be wondering what it would have been like if we didn’t make changes to how we live to become closer with him
In these verses, I like how at just the words of “behold, the lamb of God,” both of the two disciples followed Jesus. They didn’t have much literal evidence, but they followed Him and believed Him anyway. Andrew believed so much that he found Simon and brought him to meet Jesus.
Jesus is truly there. He is our savior and Messiah. He came down from heaven to teach us the way of God and he wants to help us get into heaven and live a holy life spreading the word of God.
When John said “Behold, the lamb of God” that reminded me of the mass when the priest lifts the Eucharist and says those same words, “Behold, the lamb of God.” Then Jesus turned to the disciples and said “What’re you looking for?” Many of us, I’m sure, can’t answer that question. Or if you can it’s an answer that is temporary. We need to learn that what we truly seek is the love of Jesus Christ. He brought you into this world and calls you by name. In his eyes, you are more precious than the last breath he took on the cross.
I think Jesus is telling me to trust him. the people in this story trusted God and great things came from it.
Jesus calls each of us by name. He wants us. Jesus is not some far off god that watches from afar and just wants worship and praise. Yes, memorized prayers and rituals are good. But to truly know Jesus you have to talk to him. Just like in any other relationship we have to talk regularly. You can’t have a relationship where only one person is putting in the work. He wants to know what is going on in your life, but in order to know him, you have to meet him midway. Go out and meet Jesus!
Jesus is trying to tell us to follow him like Simon. Jesus is the Messiah and he is always with you and all around you.
The part of the script saying what are you looking for has a feeling that makes people think about the thing that they are looking for.
In todays scripure its saying that we cannot worship something we do not know. and that we need it to be a habbit so pray and not be on our electronics and worship God.
I think that God is trying to tell me to stay closer to him and to keep praying and praising him. As we should and as every human should.
It is crazy that Jesus just picked a name for the apostles. Jesus just knows it is the right name for the right person.
What stood out to me is that John baptist reveals to us that Jesus is the true messiah. He loves and takes care of us.
there are many times in my life when i asked that question and could not answer it or i came up with a lot of unfulfilling answers. We are about to embark upon the next semester of our studies, “What are you looking for?” or “What do you want out of it?” We are made for purpose and mission so we are called to seek the essence or the purpose of what we are about to do.
Just like andrew we all can be happy when we have a relationship with God
This is saying that Jesus is the REAL GOD. He is the true messiah.
God is everywhere. He always knows how we are feeling. We are never alone because we have him.
Jesus is the Messiah. It is our job to recognize and follow him just like the Apostles did, and live a life with Christ.
I really liked when it said “Come and you will see” because to me that makes it seem like he wants us to trust him and follow him. And we should trust and follow him because we know he will lead us to the right place.
I really liked when it said “Come and you will see” because to me that makes it seem like he wants us to trust him and follow him. And we should trust and follow him because we know he will lead us to the right place
“We have found the Messiah,” When the earth was created, humans were there. we were created by God, not on accident. The first humans that walked the earth were devoid of sin until the devil tempted them. we may blame anything else for the problems that are happening today. in reality, we are the problem. We need to correct our ways before we stray too far from God’s caring hands.
Jesus is our Messiah. We are looking for him and his love and saving grace. We need to open our eyes to his will and know that he had a plan for us. Nothing bad will come of us so long as we look to him. When we find him, we will know and we can tell the world.
“He said to them, “Come, and you will see.” So they went and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day.” Jesus calls us each by name and we must listen to him. God is always ready to give you love and comfort. We should strive to be examples for others and be a loving son/daughter of God.
What God is saying is that you might not see what your looking for right away but once you start looking faster you’ll find what you were thriving for, as in these verses John was trying to find the rabbi which means “teacher”. When Jesus took John and his two disciples they didn’t know who they were following but soon would know that they well find the “rabbi”.
I think what this scripture is telling us is that when Jesus reveals Himself we need to follow Him and the more we follow Him is the more he will reveal himself to us.
Jesus is calling out to us and wanting to have our own personal relationship with him. The reason God became man was so we could follow him, learn through him, and have a good strong relationship with him. Jesus is seeking to find us every day we need to make that same effort to him also.
in this passage i feel like it’s about how the teacher sees the story. like a narrator’s storytelling. I think this passage was pretty good, i did not fully get the passage but i understood some of it
“We have found the Messiah,” This part stuck out to me because its telling us that they finally realized Jesus was the true Messiah and He came down from Heaven to save us.
What I think Jesus is telling me is to trust Him and surrender to Him. The apostles followed Him and left everything behind they trusted Him. So I think He wants me to put all my trust in Him because He knows the best path of life for me.
“We have found the Messiah,”
This stuck out to me because its what we long for. we long for a relationship with God. we want to be face to face with God. In unity. We have to look to him, call to him to find him.
I think that you have to believe in God to be happy and be led to holiness
I think it’s amazing that Jesus chose the apostles to help put together the Church. Peter is the leader apostle and the fact that Jesus chose him also shows that Jesus saw something in him. Jesus saw something in all the apostles.
God became Man so we could have a personal relationship with Him. Nobody else believes this except those who follow Christ because that is what He promises.
They said to him, “Rabbi” (which translated means Teacher),
“where are you staying?”,
They wanted to stay with Jesus they wanted to follow him. They believed that he was the one who would free them from there sins
God is asking me what I want this year from Him.
Jesus is 100% man and 100% holy. He became a human just like us just so he could experience the pain of death by crucifixion to save us all from sin. He could have left us to fight sin on our own and stayed in heaven but he willingly made the sacrafice.
God became Man so we could have a personal relationship with Him. Nobody else believes this except those who follow Christ because that is what He promises. we have to let go and be selfless and follow god so we can follow his word and spread the gospel. so we can live eternaly in heaven.
I think God is trying to tell us that he will always be there for us. I think that He will always be able to give us answers to our problems
Jesus says what are you looking for. He meant more than where his home was and stuff. Jesus meant and wanted him to figure out that he is home. He asked why are you looking for a home when im right here. Jesus is our home our shelter.
Jesus is not only calling the first apostles in today’s gospel He is also calling us. We must answer His call, if we want to be saved then we must accept His call. When we are called we will know because he makes it apparent by showing us signs. If we respond we are saved.
Jesus called each of his apostles by name and he too calls us by name each and everyday.
what are we looking for? we are looking for God. we are looking for him in others and in ourselves. but God is looking for us. He is calling out to us to be loved and cared by Him. so in the end, not only are we looking for God, he is looking for us so we can be loved by Him.
Something that stuck out tot me was that when Jesus walked by they knew that Jesus was our savior. Which tells me that Jesus could come at anytime and look like a normal human being, but we will just know because there is know one like Jesus.
In the scripture it’s saying that the disciples are asking Jesus for his help and to help them with the things they need. Like when it says this “What are you looking for?” They said to him, “Rabbi” (which translated means Teacher), “where are you staying?” He said to them, “Come, and you will see.”
“We have found the Messiah!” It takes great faith and a moved heart to realize that that is really the Messiah. They just said it straight on and they already knew and they didn’t have to be swayed to think it since they already knew. When you know whose presence is upon you you change moods and they knew He was better than anyone on earth.
God became man so that he could have a personal relationship with us, so what else could we want. Our human nature sends us down this rabbit hole of wanting more, look at someone that’s really rich, they have all of these things that some of us will never have, but they still want more, they still want even more than what they have, that’s what i see in God. He always wants more of us and can never get enough.
God became man to have a closer relationship with us to be an example that you could see in there day to day life and so that they can learn more on the path to holiness.
What really stuck out to me was “John was standing with two of his disciples, and as he watched Jesus walk by, he said,“Behold, the Lamb of God.”The two disciples heard what he said and followed Jesus.” This stuck out to me because i strive to be like those 2 disciples they were so trusting and for me that’s hard i mean putting your trust in some one is always hard i just strive to be able to trust and hope in God the way they did.
What are you looking for? This question can mean many different things like you are literally looking for something or you are looking for something to stir your soul. At my age most kids don’t have an exact plan for the future. Life comes with so many changes that it’s impossible to plan everything that happens and if you like it or not one thing never changes. God. Since the beginning of time He has loved us without any hesitation. We should love him back.
Jesus has so many names, and all of them have meaning. everything that God does has meaning. Even Jesus means God saves. everything that God does has a purpose, from the time you get up to the time you go to bed. he chases you, and nothing is better than him.
“What are you looking for?” This is a question many people search and search for the answer but never find. We will never find the true thing that we are looking for unless we turn to God And Jesus. “We have found the Messiah,” this quotes something that many people today search for but may be unable to find without help from others or the Church. We may need help to find Jesus and eternal life, but it is possible.
I think Jesus is trying to tell us to follow him and that he is right in front of us but we just need to listen
The lord is telling us to come find him in the world over every desire we may have
This scripture is telling me that we need to look for Jesus and Him only. He is revealed in many ways and we need to be able to see that.
The scripture told me that to go spread the word of God and don’t be afraid to do so.
JESUS TURNED AND SAW THEM FOLLOWING HIM AND SAID TO THEM,”WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?. this is a powerful statement that make question what am i really looking for
When we find Christ we need to be happy because He is the Messiah so we need to rejoice when we find Him and we will all be happy and when the time comes we will be even more happy in heaven with Him.
“Behold, the Lamb of God.” These words that john said may be some of the most important
What stuck out to me is when Jesus asked ¨what are you looking for?¨, This stuck out to me because he is asking us what we want in this life
God is telling us what we want and desire. He is telling us to follow him and to trust in him. He is not asking us, he is telling us.
Jesus is saying we are never alone we always have him in are life if we are ever lonely talk to him jesus is waiting in are presence either through prayer or just talking to him.
“Where are you staying?” He said to them, “Come, and you will see.”
This line in the scripture tells me that God is our guidance. We will never be lost if we always have God with us and by our side.
God is never leaving us even if we sin and make bad choices. If we make bad choices we are forgiven for what we have done and God forgives us of that mistake. So if you ever feel alone or like you did something wrong, just remember, God is with us.
God is trying to tell us that he is the Messiah. If we stay right next to him for our whole life, we can live eternally happy in heaven. Like the disciples stayed right next to Jesus physically, we stand next to Jesus in prayer.
Jesus is saying that to come to him and there will be stuff. John is saying that Jesus is the true messiah and i beilve that so i think we should all beilve he is our messiah.
We should be excited about Christ knowing he is the Messiah is a great gift and a greater one to be able to worship him. We must be open to all the He says and be ready for when we are called and what we are called to be.
I think Jesus is telling us that he is the True Messiah. God can help you find what you are looking for if you pray to him. “JESUS TURNED AND SAW THEM FOLLOWING HIM AND SAID TO THEM,”WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?” This struck me because Jesus is always there with us and he will be forever.
Jesus took the disciples to his home trusting them. We need to trust Jesus this way too.
Jesus became man to form a relationship between you and him. He wants to make sure we are safe and loved.
Something that really touched me was when Andrew said to Simon “We have found the Messiah.” To me it feels like he is saying it in a calm and deep voice like Jesus. The way he also just went up to Simon and said that just makes me feel like Andrew knew and was waiting and was releaved he was here.
Jesus said,
“Behold, the Lamb of God.” I think Jesus is saying that he is the son of God
Today God reveals to us that We are meant to follow Jesus, that we should drop everything that we are doing and go and be with him. that no matter what everything else should decrease in importance and he increases in importance. We need to be like Andrew and the other disciple.
“Come and see” means that God wants us to come and see his goodness that has spread throughout the church and is the truth that god is speaking through. we should appreciate the mass and know that God is present at the mass even though we can’t see him he is there and is bringing joy to everyone.
when we put god first we have everything we need
what are you looking for? Is what this scripture asks us. The answer is God but why is he so hard to find??? Hes not though, open your eyes you will see him, open your soul you will feel him, open your ears you will hear him, open your mind you will do great things through him, and open your heart as you will love him.
When we put God first we have everything we need. When Andrew said to Simon “We found the Messiah” it really touched me. God is never leaving us even when we sin
What stuck out to me was Jesus saying, ” What are you looking for ” like how we sometimes ask that looking for Jesus in our life. When we look for Jesus we need to pray to talk to him and see that he want us with him.
Whenever we put God first we have everything we need. We will never be lost when we have God with us. God is never going to leave us even though we sin. God will always guide us and be there for us.
What this tells me is that we need to follow God and his path. And we always need to put him over everything. especially stuff that will lead us away from him
This Gospel is my all time favorite because it says the names of Jesus. They call Jesus “Rabbi” and “Messiah”. They were pulled to call Jesus those names. They didn’t know Jesus at all but they knew that He was the Rabbi and Messiah. Then after they called Him Rabbi and Messiah they followed Him. They didn’t know Him at all but they already trusted Him. We need to follow Him and trust Him even when it is hard like Andrew, John and Peter did.
If we look for peace or joy, there is nothing wrong with that however when we finally seize it, our joy or peace will be short noticed because there is something missing. That something is God. When we seek God, we will receive peace and joy.
This scripture is asking a question: What are you looking for? Not everyone’s answer will be the same. Some may be looking for peace or finding a better way to pray, or maybe even God. And we cant just find him, he’s not something we can just find, we have to believe in him, and he will show us our way to Him, and the Lord
When we have God First we get mostly everything.
Jesus is always gonna be with us even when we choose not to love him. He is always shows us love when we need it the most and other times. He has called others to be with us for a reason. He wants us to have a good relationship with him and to make it to heaven
