Prayer Prompt before reading LK 17:20-25 Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray well, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father is and God the Son so that I may know who I am.

“FOR BEHOLD, THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AMONG YOU.” LK 17:20-25

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

Jesus answers a question today that is always a heavy topic, when will God’s Kingdom come. Jesus answers, “For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.”  He also remarks, “But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” In MT 20:28 Jesus says, “Lo, I am with you always to the end of the age.”

What does this mean?  We can live our lives thinking about God in two ways.  One, He is an old man really far away sitting on a cloud as a boss or manager(not personal or present). Or two, which is what Jesus is teaching us today.  He is present right now (Jesus speaking right to the Pharisees) and he promises He will be with us always.  God is everywhere all of the time.

I teach 100 yards from the “Kingdom of God” on earth in the tabernacle and monstrance in perpetual adoration. Amazing! He continues to offer Himself up for us and stay with us. He is with us in prayer and when we say “Come, Holy Spirit”.

How do I know?  The Eucharist, the Blessed Sacrament, the Holy Spirit in all baptized people guiding the Church and us individually, in the sunrise and sunset, the mountains and oceans, the stars, moon, and sun.  Most importantly, because He said so and I believe and trust Him.  I believe He is who He says He is and is not a liar or a person who is trying to deceive me.

Jesus said He must suffer greatly predicting His passion.  The Catholic Church had the end of the world pegged a long time ago.  The world ended when Jesus died on the cross and resurrected conquering sin and death.  We no longer have to live with Original Sin, the gates of heaven are open, we have the Holy Spirit in us, we have God’s grace in the sacraments that Jesus set up while on earth.

We have the Eucharist and confession, prayer, as we wait for the Second Coming.  We are living in the end times with the power and opportunity to be holy each day.  We do not have to stay bound to our sin. We are free, if we choose it. It lies within us.  Take time to sit in silence and listen!

Today’s challenge: Take time to pray and think about God not far away but right here with us always, it makes a huge difference in the way we view things and live our life!  God is with us, wow!  If you can wrap your mind around God’s true presence at Mass and in the Blessed Sacrament, you will be at peace and never want to leave.

Be a servant, become a saint!

“The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed,
and no one will announce, ‘Look, here it is,’ or, ‘There it is.’
For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.”
This part stuck out to me because it says that we should not predict when the Kingdom of God will be coming. We must wait and watch. Don’t rush the Lord, he has his own plans. God has a plan for us and the world. There is no need to rush him, he has a plan for us. We must follow his plan for us the best we can. You can ask through prayer, and adoration. Do the lords work, not your selfish work.

“FOR BEHOLD, THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AMONG YOU.” LK 17:20-25. This stood out to me because Jesus is saying Behold that the Kingdom of God is among us. The reason why this stood out to me is because no matter what we do in life, no matter what terrible thing that we may or might have done, the Kingdom of God will always be open for us because Jesus will always love us.

God doesn’t want us to run away from Him. He wants us to stay with Him. Even if we don’t believe at the time or don’t want to open the door to God, He will still be there waiting for us! He will never leave like we should never leave.

In today’s scripture Jesus tells us that the kingdom of God is among us. He also says that people will say to you “look there he is” or “look there he is” but do not be deceived by the works of others. People will always try and tell you things to scare you but you should only believe the word of the Lord.

In today’s Gospel Jesus says He must suffer before He will be loved by every nation. The Gospel talks about Jesus’ crucifixion. back then most people wouldn’t say “look there He is” but after His crucifixion and resurrection everyone would say ” look there He is”.

Today in the Gospel, Jesus tells us that the Kingdom of God is among us. Jesus also tells that the Son of Man will come, but He must suffer greatly and be rejected. Jesus is trying to give us a message about Heaven. He wants us to wait for the wonders of Heaven. God’s reign is not a place to be found or a date to await, but we will receive a spiritual sign that it is coming for us. The Kingdom of God is fiction, it is a spiritual, real place for those who believe.

In today’s Gospel it is talking about how God’s kingdom is among us and he owns his kingdom and allows us in it and he loves you so much. He tells his disciples that ” The days will come when they will find you. And he tells them ” Do not run off, in pursuit. This is teaching us that God is telling you that you belong in his kingdom in heaven and he has opened the gates for you because he saved you wants to be with you in heaven. God loves you!!

I really like this Gospel because it is saying we need to be ready all the time and to not be caught in a bad spot. I think we should always strive to be a better person in our faith, and to never stop being ready. We have to always be in a good state and be in the kind of state that God would want us in when He eventually comes again.

The phrase “Holy Spirit in all baptized people guiding the Church and us individually, in the sunrise and sunset, the mountains and oceans etc”. as this scripture says people think of him as a old guy sitting in the clouds but that’s wrong. The Trinity is everywhere all the time and especially in prayer during mass and in the Tabernacle. We need to learn Jesus is always with us and we need to always be with him.

What really stuck with me in today’s scripture was how you can look at God two ways. Either you think of Him as an old man really far away sitting on a cloud in a big kingdom, or that he is present with us right now. We need to know that God is with us everywhere all of the time. We know this because of “the Eucharist, the Blessed Sacrament, the Holy Spirit in all baptized people guiding the Church and us individually, in the sunrise and sunset, the mountains and oceans, the stars, moon, and sun”. We have God’s grace in us so that should bring us a lot of joy.

I think that each small deed that we do allows us to get closer and closer to God, and if the Kingdom of God is, metaphorically, inside of us, then we are also growing closer to ourselves and learning how to figure out who we really are.

There are many things that we might idolize like people or objects, but we need to remember what we are really trying to achieve. Heaven. And you cannot get to Heaven by relying on the world. To achieve Heaven you need many things, but the most important is a relationship with the one who made you and will never stop loving you.

Let us not be blinded in the same way as the Pharisees and not take what the lord has done, is dong, and will continue to do. We don’t know God’s plan and therefore cannot predict when Christ will come again the only thing we can do is wait for his coming and prepare ourselves for it.

In this Gospel God is describing the beauty of wisdom. having lots of wisdom may not just be good on the earth but its even better in heaven. we need the spirit of wisdom in our hearts and life so we can use our wise brains to delve deeper into the life of Jesus and in God we find peace so having just a little amount of wisdom can give you the peace you have never had and it will make you feel uncontrollably in love with God. Amen

What struck me the most was “Jesus said He must suffer greatly predicting His passion” Jesus knew the extent to the suffering and torture he was going to have to got through and he still wanted to save us. he could’ve saved himself from all the suffering and left us here but no. He wanted to save each and everyone of us individually,

In today’s gospel, the message that I got is that I should not wait until the end of time when Jesus comes to become a better person, but rather I should live my life like I know that the end of time is tomorrow. I believe that in the Gospel today, the message was that I should always put in effort to be a good person because you will never know when Jesus will actually come.

“The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed, and no one will announce, ‘Look, here it is,’ or, ‘There it is.’ For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” I think that this means that what we do on Earth will affect what our eternal life is like, whether it’s to suffer in the pits of Hell for your evil doing or to live a life in Heaven without fear. I also got the impression that it meant that you will not get a warning when the world ends or when the Father calls you home and that you should be pure before and not need to be purified in Purgatory.

The day will come what that means is one day we
all will get judged and sorrowed for are sin and we
will long for heaven and hopefully one day we can
get there but before Jesus can save us he must suffer
    greatly because of are sin.

This scripture taught me to realize that no matter what, you will always be denied in some way. Humiliated even if you do the right choice. Which is why it doesnt matter what others think, but what you think. If its right, do it. If wrong, dont. It will be like this until if you have followed the right path and gave into humiliation, you will be awarded with eternal life in heaven with God. But it not, you know what will happen.

Today in the Gospel what stood out to me was ‘Look, there he is,’ or ‘Look, here he is.’. Jesus says to them that it wont be to noticeable. We will have to yearn for Gods Justice on the final day and ask for forgiveness, for we are not all perfect. Strive to get closer to him, whether it be in prayer or going to mass. Lets all make it to heaven

I think this Gospel reminds us that some people won’t believe in Jesus. Towards the end when Jesus said “But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” He knows that not everyone will be able to accept Him. I think that is one of my favorite things about Jesus, He gives people the option. He is so loving and unselfish that He lets people do whatever they want on earth pretty much. He is unselfish and will love us forever.

The gospel today tells us that we should not live for worldly things. To be rejected by this generation we must live for God and him only. We should follow his words and not believe in false prophets or idolize things. We must live for him and prioritize him first. You cannot live for him and the world.

In today’s Gospel God is warning us about the liars in our world. There will be people saying “Hes there'” or “Look He is here” but we should not listen to them. The Kingdom of God is among us. Instead of following them we should try to block them out. We should start trying to do God’s mission for us so that we may enter the Kingdom of God.

“But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” this is telling us that we aren’t just living we are living with purpose. Our purpose is not just to fit and be exactly like someone else, we are meant to be who God created us to be and until we can realize that we have not accepted God.

In today’s Gospel, we are told by Jesus Christ that God is ubiquitous. He is everywhere all around us – in our neighbor, in the trees, in the skies, in the tabernacle, everywhere you can see a creation from God’s splendor. God is always with us, and He will never forsake us because he loves so much that He sent His only Son to die on the cross so that we can live in mercy. He will be with us always, and we should recognize that everyday 24/7.

I think what Jesus and God are trying to tell me in today’s gospel is that in this time right now when the world needs it he is present. He is always present but right now he is trying his hardest to get into everyone heart and tell them that they need to stop going south, away from God and go back in the direction he is trying to lead us to.

Like when supposedly the rapture was going to happen towards the beginning of this school year. This is the quote that comes to my mind every, single, time, we will not know when God will come back but we will come to God someday and it could be tomorrow it could be in 50 years. If you just look around we are already in the kingdom.

What this gospel is telling me is that God wants us to know that he is not just at Mass in the Eucharist but that he is everywhere. When I was a little kid I remember thinking that God was everywhere and that he would spread out like air to fill every nook and cranny so that he could be everywhere. Now I know it’s kinda like that because God and our guardian Angels are always with us and he created the air we breath every day.

In Today’s Gospel, the Pharisees come to Jesus questioning Him about the Kingdom of Heaven, He tells them that people won’t go saying ‘Here it is’ or ‘There it is’ but it is here. Jesus also tells His disciples that they wouldn’t go saying, about the Son of Man, ‘Here He is’ or ‘There He is’ because the would reject Him and make Him suffer.

I feel like today’s gospel wanted me to realize that he truly IS the Eucharist and every Sunday we go to mass we receive the perfect man who sacrificed himself for us by dying on a cross. He is always looking out and watching over us. He is our shepherd and we are his sheep.

the gospel today says that he must suffer greatly and be rejected by his generation. I believe that this applies to us today as well somewhat. being Catholic and loving Jesus is not what is considered cool by our generation. what’s considered cool is cussing and breaking rules. So to be a devout Catholic and love Jesus with all our hearts we must suffer and be cast out by people considered cool and live a life holiness but we will not be lonely because we will have God.

Jesus says that you cannot predict when or where he will come; to the likes of a flash of lightning, which you cannot predict when or where it will come. Jesus emphasizes this when he says that no one will call and say that he is here, because they can in no way know when he is coming.

what I felt the Holy Spirit was saying to me was that, God is always there. it says we can depict Him as someone who is higher than us, or even better than us. He couldn’t care less about any other thing than you. He craves a deep affectionate relationship with you, it hurts His heart when He cant have a relationship with you. He is always there, He’s in the Eucharist, He is in the church, He is by our side, He is in our hearts, He is everywhere all at once. God isn’t everywhere because He just can be; He is there because He wants to see you. He wants to see the beautiful face He gave you, one He recognizes you by, the one He crafted with his hands. That is the one thing He desires and craves more than anything else; so open your eyes, God gives you all the wonders of the world. some hidden so that when you decide to follow and have a relationship with Him, the world will be 10 TIMES more gorgeous than it already is.

Today’s Gospel teaches us to have wisdom and to never doubt God, and heaven.

“He said so and I believe and trust Him. I believe He is who He says He is and is not a liar or a person who is trying to deceive me.”
this really stuck out to me because a lot of people either doubt, or don’t believe in God. and yes i have myself doubted, but that made me believe in God even more than i use to. it also made me dive deeper into the catholic faith and have a better relationship with him.

what i kinda got from this is that God doesnt want us to run away from him and to stay even when things get hard and tough. somtimes it will be hard to keep your faith going and yet through these hard ships God comes through even stronger and bettter. Jesus helps us when we are in tough situations and even tho we think he isnt there or isnt helping us he is doing so many things you cant even imagine.

“The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it.” We have to stay strong in waiting for Jesus’ second coming and stay true to our beliefs. “You do not know the day or the hour.”
