“THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS LIKE…” MT 13:31-35

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

“Jesus proposed a parable to the crowds.
“The Kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed
that a person took and sowed in a field
It is the smallest of all the seeds,
yet when full-grown it is the largest of plants.
It becomes a large bush,
and the birds of the sky come and dwell in its branches.” MT 13:31-35

Today, Jesus teaches us that the Kingdom of heaven had small and humble beginnings (when the blood and water gushed forth from His side), 12 Apostles, Mary, and a small group of followers, but continues to grow and be filled with saints. It also marks the small beginnings of the Church, the mystical Body of Christ in which Christ is the head, we are the body, and the Holy Spirit is the guide.

At Pentecost, 3000 people were baptized at the Jewish festival. The Church continued to grow quickly to the point it began to be persecuted. Now we have a great responsibility to live our baptismal vows each day and pass on the faith to others starting in our homes. It is up to us to continue to allow Christ to work through us to glorify the Father and bring as many people to the Kingdom of heaven as possible. What a great spiritual adventure and challenge!

Today’s challenge: As a small soul, help someone get to heaven today by doing a small act of kindness in your home or at work. Pray for a soul in purgatory, change something in yourself to help you be a better model of Christ for others, be a missionary in your own home!

Be a servant, become a saint!
