“HE SAW THE CITY AND WEPT OVER IT.” LK 19:41-44
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Prayer Prompt before reading LK 19:41-44: Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father and God the Son are so that I may know who I am.
Jesus wept? We all know how we feel when we see someone weeping. We instantly show compassion and reach out to them. Sometimes we forget that Jesus is human. He is weeping over Jerusalem failing to see God in their midst at this moment. The One to save them.
The most important lesson though is, “If this day you only knew what makes for peace.” If you do not make Jesus the center of your life (eat, sleep, and breathe Him), then you will not have peace (to be fulfilled; it doesn’t mean there will be no pain or suffering in your life and you won’t be tempted, if anything, the Devil will come roaring at you more).
God rightly orders us to Himself through the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass after Baptism. Imitating Jesus rightly orders our lives by filling ourselves up with Him (Eucharist/Confession, Prayer, Scriptures). His grace leads us to humility, recognizing our life as a gift and we are created to serve. We are created for love. It is meant to be given away. This brings us to our hearts greatest desire, peace, holiness, heaven (a place of love).
The opposite? Destruction. The beautiful thing is that God gives us a free will to choose. We get to choose our destiny, Christ already paid the bill for our sins. I am sure you have tried a lot of other things to bring you peace, I know I have. Give Jesus a try. You will not be let down. God the Father is chasing after you, he loves you. Take a healthy risk, a spiritual adventure and seek Him in silence, love Him back. Give your whole self to Him.
Today’s challenge: When you weep, remember Jesus wept too. Jesus died to be with you in your weeping. Allow Him in. Give Jesus a chance to bring what your heart desires, peace.
Be a servant, be a saint today!
#Christian YODO (You Only Die Once; We will rise again!)
Jesus wept for the people of the city of Jerusalem. He wept over the fact that peace was hidden from their eyes. He loves us, and by weeping for the city, it shows just how much He cares for us. He loves us even to this day, and he always will. Jesus speaks through the gospel to us, and we should listen to Him. He knows what is best for us, and he wants to help us get to heaven. Listen to Jesus! Follow his word.
In today’s gospel the Lord cried over the city for they do not know he is visiting and they do not no the peace that they may receive but they have been smashed down and filled with stones so they will not recognize the Lord for he always there. Your children will suffer as well because you don’t teach the Lord is coming to save them from their sins so they do not no the Lord is their God and savior.
I think that Jesus is trying to tell us that he will never leave you behind no matter what you do and that he will always be there for you if you ever need anything and also that he loves you
I think that in today’s Gospel Jesus is trying to tell us that because Jerusalem didn’t believe in Him their enemies will take them down. This shows us that God has all power and can do anything so we need to strive to be like Jesus and believe for our salvation.
I think Jesus cries because he is sad. He is sad people don’t love him. So many people turn God away and reject him, but Jesus still loves us he loves us with his whole heart. It’s hard to turn to Jesus but when you do it it is such a great reward. The reward is going to heaven and spending the rest of eternity with our Lord and savior. Why wouldn’t you want to do that? you can have eternal happiness with Jesus or you can have eternal suffering away from Jesus.
Everybody weeps, its something even Jesus did. Its OK to cry. its the natural reaction to physical or emotional pain. its not made to make others feel bad about you. Its a way of showing I’m not, OK I feel bad, or I’m hurt. Everybody weeps and that’s OK
Today’s gospel is about how we have free will to choose God or to choose to run away from him. We can choose to live in Jesus and go to mass on Sundays and worship him run away and make him weep like he did in the Gospel today
When it said that Jesus wept over the city it is saying how Jesus was still human. It is showing God’s humility through Jesus because He didn’t make Jesus this person who feels no feeling because He wanted people to know Him through Jesus. Jesus was weeping over the city of Jerusalem then He said if this day that you only know what makes for peace. Jesus wants us to be close to Him so we have to make a commitment to Him.
“If this day you only knew what makes for peace–
but now it is hidden from your eyes.”
Its sad Jesus wept for us, he knew what our world was going to come to and how we were all going to suffer, all he wants if for us to be happy with him in Heaven. In the line he was saying that we dont see the way to make peace in this world and will damage later. Jesus wept because he doesn’t want us to suffer but we are blinded of way to true peace.
Jesus wept. Those are two words I thought would never be together or in the same sentence why would a man such as him weep .But yet there they are the two words right next to each other.
In today’s gospel it says that Jesus wept, and it says that we all know how it feels when someone is weeping. I know I feel bad when I see someone weeping, and we reach out. We need to reach out to Jesus when He is weeping, because He reaches out to us when we need it and are struggling. Jesus will always be there when we weep but we have to do the same and feel compassion for Him just as He does for us.
“If this day you only knew what makes for peace.” Today God is telling me that people are too busy doing things ,and don’t make time for Jesus. We are so tied up in the internet and all of that, that we don’t focus on God as much as we should. We don’t make time to pray , and we barely make time to go to Church. If we didn’t have the internet to satisfy us then we would probably spend more time on Him. There is always going to be things that distract us from Him, and that’s just how it works now. We should try to make more time for Him whether you like it or not, but what is there not to like about making time for our God. It might take the temporary things away, but if we focus on God then it will help us for something that is going to stick with us for the rest of our lives. So don’t be afraid to make more time for Jesus and spend the time well.
“AS JESUS DREW NEAR JERUSALEM, HE SAW THE CITY AND WEPT OVER IT”
I believe Jesus is trying to tell us, that God, the literal Creator of Heaven and Earth wept for us, and some of us don’t even care about it?!
Like what was the entire point of him coming down in the flesh, just so he can be thrown away like he is nothing!? We need to start to put more faith and time in our Lord because we need Him to bring us love in our hearts.
In Today’s Gospel these words stuck out to me:
“If this day you only knew what makes for peace–
but now it is hidden from your eyes.” I think these words
describe spirtual hunger almost because we are yearning for
peace.
“For the days are coming upon you” this is the phrase that stuck out to me,not because it is the first one I saw but because I felt God speak to me when I read over this phrase. I believe that this phrase can really bring many different meanings but this is the one that is calling to me, every day you grow closer to God and the days you are not close to God are the days you will want back when it comes to judgement day.
In the Bible the story is saying the Jesus is upset at how the world is. Many years have passed and so many killed, so many lost, and so many away. Jesus is the king of kings and he knows that the world is cruel because the faith is so low they drown in the water, their faith is so low they get lost and not found, their faith is so low that the cup is never cleaned nor white again. The truth is standing right in front of the people that can’t open their eyes. Our eyes are filled with the splinters of the world that we only care about what the news has to say, and what people say about you. That you aren’t good enough to be here, your are not perfect, you are not smart. Well we are not perfect, and we will never be a God. Jesus knows who we are, what we do, and how we do things, but we cannot hide from him and the truth that we are his beloved son. Because he is well pleased, we are the lost sheep just waiting to be found by Christ. How many times have we been found and still want to get away from Christ. We are animals that run away from the sound of a concerned father. So let us not worry, let us be loving to the Lord, let us take our faith seriously because the body that we receive is a living King. Do we care or are we cooling out because our friends say that we are not good enough. Don’t listen to what the world has to say. Listen to what God has to say. The world may be cruel in the world, it just needs someone like you to fill in the gaps with the love of Christ
In today’s Gospel, Jesus wept. He wept for the people in the town of Jerusalem. Jesus wept because the people there were unable to see that God was currently with them and they didn’t believe. Jesus felt sorrow for these people because He loved them and deeply wanted to be with them. It isn’t just the people in Jerusalem that Jesus wants to be with, but He also wants to be with us. Jesus loves all of us and He would do anything for us, we just need to accept His and follow Him no matter what. We need to follow the teachings of our faith and always turn to Jesus when we need Him because He is always there for us.
Today’s scripture says that we should always include God in our lives. Remember that he is the most important thing ever, more important than work, school, anything. We always have a way to choose God gave us free will so that we can love a life that we can fulfill.
I wonder who Jesus is talking to in the Gospel today. I wonder if Jesus is weeping because he feels sorrow for the people about the Romans or if it is that he feels sorrow because no one wants to commit to him like Father Garret said today. “They will not leave one stone upon another within you because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.” What is he talking about when it says that we wasted our time of visitation. Is he talking about our time on earth and that we won’t be able to spend eternity with him. Then what is he talking about when he says they will not leave one stone on another stone within you?
Laetyn, your reflections always inspire me!
Something that I got out of this was that some people just have pure hate towards Christians, and we need to protect ourselves, but not fight them physically, but pray for them.
“HE SAW THE CITY AND WEPT OVER IT” Luke 19:41-44.God orders us through the mass through the sacrifice. The opposite of heaven is destruction.God gives us the ability to praise him or draw away from him.The reason Jesus wept was because Jerusalem was seeing the city fail to listen to Gods word.
Jesus had everything but he still wept. You can never have true peace and happiness from material possessions, you can only have true peace and happiness by following Jesus.
Whenever we weep, we should think about Jesus. We wouldn’t be happy without Jesus. He is the reason why all our lives are how they are. Its God’s plan! I mean, he died for us! And we are still pushing him away! We should embrace him. We should embrace the fact that God loves us, and we should admire him as God, because he is God! And he wants a relationship with us! We are just humans, unlike him. And he wants to be friends with us tiny humans. We should really take this chance and make a relationship with him!
in today’s gospel I think Jesus was trying to tell us that If you do not make Jesus the center of your life you will not be fulfilled ” if you do not make Jesus the center of your life.(eat, sleep, and breathe Him), then you will not have peace (to be fulfilled; it doesn’t mean there will be no pain or suffering in your life and you won’t be tempted, if anything, the Devil will come roaring at you more).” Jesus needs to be the center of your life.
Jesus is crying because He is feeling bad for this town and they do not know what is coming for them. They don’t know that they do not know that nothing will stand when their enemies come through. He says this will happen “because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.”
I think this story is telling us about how we dont appreciate Jesus enough. Jesus has given us everything we have our lives, our world, and most importanlty free will and we dont except that enough. We stray away from the one thing that has given us everything. Its telling us we can be closer with Jesus by just beleiving he made us and everything around us and just by beleiving that we can figure out more and more and truly understand what God has done for us.
Jesus was telling me to greatfull for every thing I have and he will always forgive if you just ask him.
It was telling me to eat, breathe and drink the LORD/GOD, let him know everything about me, and let him in me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jesus sees the town that starts weeping and says “it is hidden from your eyes” I think this means Jesus needs us to trust in him and no one can see heaven waiting for us. He wants us to see that He has a plan for us if we like it or not and we have to trust in it, so we can get to heaven.
In today’s Gospel God says that your eyes are covered and you only see your enemies and the hurtful things in life. This all happens because you did not recognize Him at your time.
somthing that stuck with me when I was reading this I that “if you don’t breathe sleep or eat him then your will not have peace” the reason this stuck with me I think is that the devil will keep bothering you because he doesnt want you to get to heaven but Jesus’s goal is for you to be with him and have eternal life and love one another. When were with Jesus its harder for the devil to tempt us but when were away from Jesus we get tempted way easily from the devil. So what I think I got from this is that if we don’t Put Jesus at the top of our things or want to be with him we will get tempted and wont have peace. Because the only way to have peace is to be with JESUS
I think Jesus is trying to tell us here that he is like us too. He is like us in all things but sin. He is fully God and fully man. He understands us more than we think. He has gone through the same things as us. We can turn to him in hard times instead of getting mad at God and turning away from him. Let him help you; accept his help. Give your suffering to Him. He will take it and ease your burden. “For my yoke is easy and my burden light.” Matthew 11:30
I think today’s scripture is trying to tell us that Jesus wept to. Its telling us that its okay to weep but when we do we need to let Jesus in . We can weep with sadness or with JOY. If we let Jesus in we can have Joy. We need to try to breath eat sleep Jesus. We need to do this so we can receive joy here on earth and so we can receive the ultimate joy at the end of our lives, Heaven. If we decide to love God and make him a part of our life, worship him, make sure to love him, We will go to Heaven. But sometimes letting Jesus into our lives can start with letting him in while we weep.
Today’s gospel is about how Jesus wept. But not only that but if we don’t make Jesus the center of our lives then there is no peace in our hearts, that if we don’t find Jesus then the devil will be roaring at us more. But if we do have Jesus in our life then there is peace, love, and desire in our hearts to be closer with God.
what Jesus is telling us is that he died for our sins but that we still get to choose if we sin or not and if we chose his side we will have peace!!!
I did not understand what he meant but that he wept because a citie might die.
he wept because people were turning to sin
I think today’s Gospel is saying that you don’t know what will happen in you future and that you just need to trust in the Lord because tomorrow isn’t here yet so you don’t know what will happen. I can apply this to my life by remembering that the Lord’s time is always right I can rely on him for what happens tomorrow.
I think today’s gospel is trying to tell me that I need to turn to him when I am going through something to find peace.
I think what God is trying to say to me no matter what you do if you go to church every day and go to confession if you don’t mean it your not helping yourself grow any closer to God you have to mean it when you are in prayer speak to God like you speak to your friends
What I thought stuck to me in this Gospel is “If this day you only knew what makes for peace–
but now it is hidden from your eyes. I think this means that you know what peace means but you cannot find peace in your heart. That’s what I thought when it said but now hidden from your eyes talking about peace.
I think what God is trying to tell me is that Jesus was perfect, but he was human. Jesus went through all the emotions we have hes cried, been angry, and was happy. We should welcome Jesus into our sin so he can help us battle against it. Jesus went through the things we did so talking and listening to him can help us in our struggles.
In this gospel God is talking about how your friends might turn away from you. Thats ok God the father is right next to you this your entire life. He will not leave your side. Find catholic friends that will never leave your side
Today, I realized that Jesus is human too. He cried, He was angry, He was laughing at one point. We have to accept Him into our lives. He will await for us. He was crying and weeping today in the Gospel, because the people were not believing! Jesus wants us to believe. We might not believe all the time. But, Jesus is forever!
Today’s Gospel Tells us that Jesus felt betrayed by his own hometown. I think today’s Gospel tells us that you will be betrayed by the least expected, but to still never loose hope. Today’s Gospel took a toil on me because I feel like I am being betrayed all the time and that the people I talk to now are trying to separate my friend group. So today’s Gospel helps me understand that expect to be betrayed even by your friend…
In today’s gospel, the message I got was that we need to follow and be like Christ. We do not know when our time will come, so we need to think of every day like it is our last. If we do not step up today, then when will we? I think that we just need to understand that we have free will and we have the ability to choose whether we want Heaven or Hell, and we need to make that choice today.
Jesus is amazing. He wept for us, He died for us on that one cross and gave up His life for our sins, Jesus is at peace with everyone. what stood out to me in the reflection was “God the Father is chasing after you.” So basically what that’s saying is God will never leave your side even when you’re trying to run away from Him, He will not leave you by yourself. Just trust God.
I think that Jesus is trying to tell us that when Satan tries to overtake you he will not leave any stone un-turned and he will look in the depths of your soul where he will plant the devil in you just as God will overcome Satan with pureness and wash him out.
“Christ already paid the bill for our sins.” This stuck out to me because it made me realize someone loved me so much that they died from me, and so I could be happy but sometimes we take that for granted.
Jesus saw the city and wept over it. This really stuck out to my heart, because he was sad that Jerusalem had not prepared for the coming of Jesus. In the same way, we need to be prepared for when God may come to take us. “Watch, therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming” -Mathew 25:13
I think that Jesus was in true pain that some people did not believe him. He was trying to save people from sin and death (not physical death), and from going to hell. Summarized, he was unaccepted into Jerusalem. He was even unaccepted into him hometown! We need to be the ones who are ready and open for Jesus and God’s coming! Pray daily and ask for His forgiveness!!!
I think in the Gospel today God was telling us to try to be holy to welcome Him when He comes again. Jesus was weeping because He knew that since most of Jerusalem did not believe that He was God, they would be overcome by Satan and all who did not believe would be taken over by sin.
I think what God is trying to tell me today is that today he is using the example of peace when he say “If this day you only knew what makes for peace but now its hidden from your eyes.” Saying that when Jesus calls out for us we cant pass on it and say oh another day he’ll still be there tomorrow. But do we really know that. We must take all the offerings and opportunities that Jesus sends our way. We can’t just procrastinate and tell him another day but to immediately accept him into our lives.
I think that in today’s Gospel Jesus is trying to tell us that because the pharisees take him as their enemy he will take them down. This shows us that God has all power and can do anything so we need to strive to be like Jesus and believe for our salvation.
We need to be peaceful and willingly open to the arms of God to be able to get to heaven for eternal life. He wept for us. He has done everything for us to make it to heaven. Jesus was not perfect. He went through all the emotions that we go through.
He was perfect in the sense that He is holy. He was perfect but still had to go through everything a human goes through, peace, happiness, joy, emotions, physical injuries, bullying, sadness, stress, work, social labels, puberty.
Something that stuck out to me was when it said Jesus wept for the city, what that means is that God id human. God made him this way so that we can relate to him and become closer to him.
I think Jesus is saying that even when you cry and weep he will always be there for you Jesus will lay down his life for us.
In the gospel it says that Jesus wept once he saw Jerusalem. I feel like we was weeping because, he was worried about what holds for all of those people, not because it’s dangerous out there, but because they did not recognize the time of their visitation. To me this means if you deny God, then you will be punished.
Even God the King of the World has gone through tough times. He wept over Jerusalem because they are not seeing Him. We all go through tough times but we can make it through with Him. Our own lousiness to not see God made Him weep. He didn’t weep for Himself but for us.
I think that in today’s Gospel Jesus is trying to tell us that because Jerusalem didn’t believe in Him their enemies will take them down. I realized that Jesus is human too. He cried, He was angry, He was laughing at one point. We have to accept Him into our lives. We think God is perfect but everyone has feelings and everyone goes through tough times.
I think what this means is that Jesus is still human, and we need to know that he spent all this time to get us to believe in God but all the sudden everyone just switches up and stupid things to worship like calves and trees, and Jesus has the most power in the world and as a half human chooses to use it for the stuff.
Jesus is trying to tell us to try to be Holy and not hide your emotions. Even god has emotions and he wept because Jerusalem failing to see God in their midst. He died for them so they can be saved. Try to love God with your whole mind and soul.
What stuck out to me was when it said that Jesus wept too. It is really amusing to think about that Jesus is really a human just like us. He was just called to be God’s Son. It is crazy to think about whenever you cry, you can also think that Jesus also cried. You can be like all of the Saints because they were just human too.
“If this day you only knew what makes for peace– but now it is hidden from your eyes. For the days are coming upon you when your enemies will raise a palisade against you; they will encircle you and hem you in on all sides. They will smash you to the ground and your children within you, and they will not leave one stone upon another within you because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.” I think this means that people will hate us for loving God. We need to be ready and stay with God.
In the scripture when it said Jesus wept. I think that means that he isn’t happy with the amount of hate that people do to the Christians. Even tho people hate on other people he still loves them.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus weeps about how we can see the way of peace within humanity. “If this day you only knew what makes for peace–but now it is hidden from your eyes.” This talks about how we are not perfect.
“If this day you only knew what makes for peace.” If you do not make Jesus the center of your life (eat, sleep, and breathe Him)” This stuck out to me because we humans prioritize so much stuff in our life especially electronics. But we don’t prioritize the number one thing, God.
“If this day you only knew what makes for peace but now it is hidden from your eyes” This is telling us that we humans are not all powerful. If we were all powerful nothing would be hidden from us. God is all powerful and all knowing. God is always in control and he cares for us. With God we can make peace with people.
The line that stuck out to me was “He saw the city and wept over it” this stuck out to me because you don’t often hear about Jesus weeping. It makes you want to know why, and you find out that he was weeping about how a city did not know how to make peace. I think that Sometimes we need to stop and think: what would Jesus do? If we really took the time to think about this, I don’t think there would be such an issue with peace.
“If this day you only knew what makes for peace.” This sentence kind of confuses me. It is saying like If you understand what brings peace then bring peace today. It is a powerful saying. Jesus is peace so bring Him into your day. He is our peace. He is holiness. He is the one that we give up our life for.
in todays gospel Jesus starts to weep at the sight of Jerusalem because of the fact that they will all leave him and betray him in time and he will still die for their sins because Jesus loves us all and cares about all of us
I think Jesus was weeping because he was going to see people who betrayed him. I think the gospel is saying that its ok to cry over things and not be strong all the time and that even Jesus wept. The gospel is also saying that Jesus is human and that its ok to show emotion.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus went to Jerusalem and when he saw it, he wept. Even Jesus is human and not always God. Jesus loves us so much that He died on the cross to save us from sin. I think Jesus wept because he saw that people were turning away from Him and turning to Satan. “HE SAW THE CITY AND WEPT OVER IT.” LK 19:41-44. This struck me because it made me realized that Jesus also human
Jesus is crying because he sees the Love of God is slowly dimming in our world. The people of now are mainly focused on our own ideals, morals, thoughts, and pleasure. The world is losing the Love of God and Jesus, being God, could see that and wept.
In today’s gospel it said the Jesus wept. I think that it is trying to tell us that Jesus is still human. We all turn away from God and ignore him . And he still loves us with his whole heart. Imagine someone turning away from us constantly and ignoring us. That wouldn’t make us feel great and we probably wouldn’t love them anymore. That’s what God deals with everyday and he still loves us.
In today’s Gospel “Because you did not recognize the time of your visitation” stuck out to me. This stuck out to me because a lot of times many go without ever talking to God. We don’t deserve all of God’s graces and if we don’t even look up to him and praise him. He always tries to work through us but can’t if we never recognize God. We need to make a goal everyday to listen and pray to God so we can get all of his graces that he was so willing to give us.
I think he was weeping because the city has so much sin. When we sin it hurts God even more and he was crying because of all of the sin the city was doing and hurting him.
this gospel sounds pretty scary it is kind of like a threat but at the same time it is a warning to be ready for the time of our visitation.
I think Jesus is trying to tell us that we need to give our life completely to Him. If we just sometimes follow him that’s not enough because He gave of His entire life. So we need to give our entire life to Him. He loves us so we need to love Him back.
God is saying that if you don’t let God into your life you will never be fulfilled. You need God, he doesn’t need us but he loves us.
Today is the day that we turn ourselves. Jesus was born so that we may be able to get into heaven and eternally be with Him. We must direct ourselves to God. On judgement day, Jesus will choose whether or not we belong in heaven. We are the only people who can choose our destiny. There are many choices we can make to get ourselves into eternal life, but it all depends on our decisions. Choose good, for God is calling you.
What I thought stuck to me in this Gospel is “If this day you only knew what makes for peace–
but now it is hidden from your eyes ¨. When we think of peace, we probably think of being calm, with no problems. But do we see this in our hearts? can we find this peace in ourselves? Thats whats important. sometimes we have alot going on in our minds and dont realize whats happening around us.
God is telling me today that people care not for peace and love, but for power and money. They don’t want to give up their earthly ways for God, so they choose sin instead.
What I got out of the scripture reflection is that people will hate you and not like you but you can’t let that affect you. You need to defend yourself you can pray for those that do not like you. When people show hatred to you that just means they need to be prayed for and loved so when you get hated on just pray for those who are mean to you and who don’t treat people with the respect and love that everyone deserves.
I think Jesus wept for the people in Jerusalem. I think he wept for them because the people were hiding peace from their own eyes and their eyes of others. In this people don’t listen to what Jesus has to say which makes him sad that they don’t want to listen. In the end Jesus will love us no matter what and will always be there for us.
In the Gospel today, Jesus cries. He cried because He knows what we do not. He knows that what we think is peace will end and be replaced with chaos. This makes Him sad, because He doesn’t want His beloved children to have to suffer, and He wants to share His knowledge and peace. He wants us to remember Him and why we are here, so that we may not fall to the Earthly problems of our world.
I think Jesus wept because he was sad to see how many people choose to stay away from Him. He wants us to be close to Him and to have a relationship with Him, but He loves us so much that He lets us control our destiny because He won’t force something onto us.
Jesus was telling me to be grateful for everything I have got.
God just wants us to end up being with him. he’s not happy with how the beautiful world he created ended up. All the work he did just for it to end up like this.
“If this day you only knew what makes for peace– but now it is hidden from your eyes.” Oftentimes we always ignore Jesus or what he is truly calling us to. He is literally showing us the way to find true peace but we are to hard-hearted to see and hear what he is telling us. This makes him truly sad, which I believe is why he was weeping over the city. He wants to tell us how to protect and keep peace among ourselves but we always turn a blind eye toward him and don’t see through what he is telling us.
We all know how we feel when we see someone weeping. We instantly show compassion and reach out to them. Sometimes we forget that Jesus is human. He is weeping over Jerusalem failing to see God in their midst at this moment. We always keep forgetting because we think The Jesus is God and well he his God but he went so low that he became man.
“Then you will not have peace” This stuck out to me because most of us don’t even care about God, I mean we care but we don’t show it. We make being catholic just a thing, we don’t make it our whole life. We have to bring God to be the center of our lives, he cares so much for us. He wants us to be close with him, he reaches his hand out and we deny it. We have to take his hand because he knows what our life should be, we just have to follow.
“saying, “If this day you only knew what makes for peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes.” To me this line means sometimes we don’t really know what brings us peace. We think we have peace doing some things, but it sometimes it is actually restlessness we just keep coming back to that never really fulfills us.
“If this day you only knew what makes for peace” What I get from this verse is that we need to remember what our peace is. Jesus is our peace and when we live for Jesus our life is fulfilled. Like it said in the reflection we will still struggle but with Jesus as our peace and center of our life we can do anything.
I think Jesus is telling us to not try to find peace in Earthly possessions, but to ” Give Jesus a try.”
I love how in this Gospel it says that Jesus wept. For me, I’ve always hated crying. To me, it’s a sign of weakness and I hate giving into it because then it feels like I’ve lost whatever I was fighting for. But in this Gospel and through Mr. Geortz’s reflection I think He was telling me that it’s okay to cry. Crying is not a weakness. It’s not something we need to fight or refuse to give into because Jesus wept too and His weeping is more of a cry of humility, compassion, and sorrow for those who don’t know who He is. So I think letting myself cry next time I feel like it will be good for me because it’s a way of being humble and showing Christ that I am not the strong one, He is and in Him we have the strength to move mountains. It’s through what we think our weaknesses are that we become strong.
I think that the gospel is trying to tell is that. we need to treat everyone by what there are, a human. We always see people like cashiers as something that gives us our change even when there a person. We need to treat people like a person and not something else. Everyone has feelings even if they don’t show it to us and hide it away. If you don’t like people seeing you as something that you aren’t then why would you make fun of other people like they do to you. Its hypocritical. We need to stop treating people like objects just because of there occupation or where they come from. Jesus was a God and yet people treated him like garbage. He died on the cross because people thought he was just some “thing” running around saying he was a God. So they crucified him. They never once of Jesus as a human or God. People just say stuff that could hurt people mentally even if it doesn’t look like it on the outside. We need to treat everyone like a person because they are a person. Even if you don’t like someone. Think before you say.
“If this day you only knew what makes for peace, but now it is hidden from your eyes.” Today this verse sticks out to me. We do not know when our time is up. We always have to be ready. If we are ready then we will not be scared when the time comes. We need to follow Christ and make him the center of our lives, so that we can be confident we will make it to heaven when the time comes. We can comfort Jesus’ weeping by changing our hearts and start living for him.
I think today’s scripture is trying to tell us that Jesus wept to. Its telling us that its okay to weep but when we do we need to let Jesus in . We can weep with sadness or with joy. If we let Jesus in we can have Joy. We need to try to breath eat sleep Jesus.
“If this day you only knew what makes for peace.” think this means that God has a way bigger plan for us the we know.I think we get ahead of ourselves and forget the importance and reason that we are here.
Something that stood out to me was that the Gospel said that we are forgetting that Jesus is Human.
God is telling me that the things that Jesus describes in the Gospel will happen to us spiritually if we do not recognize God for who He is.
“If this day you only knew what makes for peace– but now it is hidden from your eyes. For the days are coming upon you” What i take from this is Jesus knows your life plan. Everything that happens happens for a reason. Jesus has a plan for u and hopes u stick with him forever.
In today’s Scripture Jesus said”If this day you only knew what makes for peace- but now it is hidden from your eyes.”He is saying that we are blind to him and he is saying that if we do not accept his sacrifice we will we perish. But, not just physically but spiritually and sin will overcome us and engulf us in the flames of hell
The Scripture today is trying to tell us to give Jesus a try and to take a healthy risk, a spiritual adventure and seek Him in silence. What mostly stuck out to me was when it said ” Jesus died to be with you in your weeping. Allow Him in. Give Jesus a chance to bring what your heart desires, peace.” We should all love Jesus back and give our whole self to Him.
Today Jesus tells me that if you do not hear his calling the enemy will surround you and you will leave God. Jesus also shows humility by weeping over something to show he is also human. A scripture says that Jesus is weeping when you are because he feels your pain.
I think he is just trying to tell us to follow his plan he set out for us and even if you make a mistake you can correct it because no one is perfect so its okay if we make a mistake just remember to fix your mistake
Todays Gospel tells us that Jesus wept for the people because they did not see their savior in their midst.Sometimes I think we don’t see God working through us.We need to remember he is always with us and will always be.
In today ´s Gospel i think Jesus is trying to tell us not to be happy about earthly things but something
much greater in the spiritual world , God is also saying that what we turned the world into now was not what he wanted .
I think God is trying to tell me that we should be grateful for what we have. I think in the Gospel Jesus is sad because the people do not know that He is their savior.
“If this day you only knew what makes for peace- but now it is hidden from your eyes.” I feel like what God is trying to say is we can do so many things to try to make our world peaceful, but other unnecessary stuff is distracting us from our prayer and catholic life.
Today’s scripture said Jesus wept and he gave us free will so we can spread the gospel of God he loves us so much and is so proud that we are his daughters and sons Christ is in heaven right now waiting for us so he can be happy with us celebrating in heaven. we ALL have to give Jesus a try we can leave everything here and offer it up to God.
In today’s Gospel it is telling us that Jesus is upset. He is upset by the way that the world is right now. You know Jesus Christ died for you and to not even care about it, is wrong. What’s the point of Jesus dying on the Cross to save us if you don’t even care about it? You should be grateful that you have a lord and savior. Jesus died for you to do his part to preach the Gospels to others and teach other people about it because there are some people that don’t know Jesus. And some people have been going to mass and worshiping their God and Savoir and praying. But in the end they end up leaving the Church. Some realize that they need God in their lives and others don’t Since Jesus died for us and saved us from death, that was his part and now its our turn to do our part to preach. God Loves You!!! Have a Good Rest of You Day. Gob Bless!!!
I think what God is trying to tell us here today is that Jesus has wept for our failure to put God above everything. It’s kind of weird to see God weep, but since he is Man, he can. Jerusalem was blinded by the fact that God is here within them, therefore he wept—kind of like how you are neglected by your best buddies, you weep. When God comes and speaks with you, listen intently. The “peace” that Jesus wanted Jerusalem to notice was himself, the Messiah that the Jews dearly desired. The fact that Jerusalem hasn’t seen the Messiah has made Jesus weep. Such enemies that are mentioned in the Gospel is sin and damnation. If Jerusalem, you, refuses to see or notice Jesus, the Messiah, damnation and sin will creep upon you and you will not have peace.
what I understood was that jesus was once human he was weeping because that people a Jerusalem where like this guy is lieing to us he is not the messiah even thought the people from Jerusalem wanted to hurt him an throw him of the cliff Jesus said it is not my time and forgave them
Humbly Submit your will to God
Jesus died for us on the cross and he gave up his life to save ours, and in the process forgave us of our sins, took out sins up on the cross, and sacrificed himself for us. Jesus is out Lord and Savior and he died to save us from our sins and let us be one with the Lord and enter the Eternal Gates of Heaven.
Jesus told me today that the church is his house and it is only for a place of calm. Like father Jarrod mentioned today in mass. That we shall respect that place because Jesus the angels and God are there it is a holy place to connect with him to feel his presence to receive him!
This gospel reflection is telling me to always trust in gods plan, that sometimes you will want to do whatever you want but its truly not what Jesus wants us to do.
in the scripture it says we have a choice. We can want to be in his life or not, but we should always trust the plan he has for us and never doubt it.
