Prayer Prompt before reading JN 4:43-54: Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father and God the Son are so that I may know who I am.

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

“YOU MAY GO; YOUR SON WILL LIVE.” JN 4:43-54

Today, we learn that Jesus’s Words are life-giving. This story is very similar to the Centurion’s servant in the other Gospels. It is through the belief of the royal official and the Centurion that Jesus can heal with His Words. Today, priests say the words of Jesus to heal, to consecrate the Eucharist, to baptize and bring the Good News to all nations.

Following Jesus’s Words has great benefits. Jesus has the words of everlasting life. His Words are Truth. His Words guide us and give us purpose. His Words are life-giving, when you teach them or share them with others you are giving them God’s life, His grace.

Jesus’s Words are worth waking up early to read, to give us direction for our day, and give us the right perspective (change the way we think; metanoia-repent). They remind us to serve and not to be served. They remind us to be thankful instead of complain. They remind us to praise and worship God for giving us another day to live and bring the Good News to others.

They remind us that if we suffer, Christ is with us in our suffering. They remind us that when we sin, Christ is love and mercy, head bent to kiss us, arms spread open ready to bring us back into God’s grace. They remind us that Mary is the most sure path to her Son, we must devote ourselves to her to draw ourselves closer to Christ.

They remind us that we are to put on the armor of God and fight Satan (sin) and grow closer to Christ in holiness living out our baptismal vows. During Lent especially, but every day they remind us that Jesus gave up His life, so that we could have new life, a life with the Father in heaven, eternal life.

Today’s challenge: Take time to reflect on the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Christ. Never leave the Words of Jesus, they are life-giving. The words on Netflix, social media, in our music, and the Internet do not give life unless they are the words of Jesus. Bring Christ into these media. Download the Laudate app, Hallow app, iPieta app, Rome Reports app, Bible in a Year, Rosary in a Year, Catechism in a Year.

Be a servant, be a saint today!

Jesus was stopped by a centurion in Galilee. This centurion was not a Jew, but rather a Gentile. Despite that, he came to Jesus, and begged him to heal his son, who was very sick. Moved by his faith in HIm, Jesus offered to come with the centurion. The man said that he was not worthy, but believed that if Jesus so wished, he could heal his son from a distance. Jesus then did, and told the centurion that his son was healed. We need to be like this centurion, and trust Jesus completely. If we do this, then calling upon God will never fail. It may not happen in the way you want or expect, but you are never alone.

I think that in today’s Gospel Jesus is trying to say that we should not believe only if we see but we need to have faith and believe that what Jesus says is going to come true regardless of how crazy it sounds because nothing is impossible for God. So we should listen to God and make sure we believe not only If we see but believe his word too.

“Your son will live” this phrase is what we need to listen to. In this phrase he is not just talking about the son of the man in the story he is talking about us. He is talking about how we will live in him forever and even when we die our soul will still live in him.

Jesus can do anything through His words. Everything God says is very important. God could say anything in the world to happen and it would happen. When we go to Mass the priest goes through lots of words that Jesus says which is why Mass is so important because the Priest is working through His words. We hear Jesus’ words through scripture which is why we need to read our Bible. God has a plan for all of us and we need to listen to His words so we can get the most out of life.

The word of God is very important, and many people don’t read it. Even though we might be busy we should always try to listen or read God’s word or at least talk to him. He wants a relationship with us so bad because he loves us so much. He wants us to talk to him like we would talk to our best friend, he just wants to have a conversation. The word of God is also so powerful, it gives us great advice and really helps us through life. Jesus went through all the struggles we go through and he understands us and reading his word can really help you grow closer to him.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus heals a sick child and after that the father and his entire household believed. Jesus performs miracles of healing and He performed a greater miracle when rising from the dead. Jesus knew he was going to have to die on the cross and He knew that he would rise again. Jesus did so much and provided so many miracles for us sinners and he died on the cross for us. We don’t deserve all of this but God continues to pour out His love for us. We need to show how thankful we are by serving God and living our lives that he blessed us with to the full.

Something that I got out of this was that what Jesus said and does matters. Jesus has the power to raise people from the dead, and cure people from their sickness. We should all realize this and take what he says as the truth. Too many of us have too much doubt in what Jesus does, and we don’t really believe in him, and what he can do. We should put more faith into Jesus, and see what amazing things happen.

This starts off like the Gospel of Friday or Thursday. Jesus says that no prophet is welcome in his own home. He is leaving to go to Galilee. I think him saying that no prophet is welcome in the place we are from is like us needing to branch out and meet new people. When he went to Galilee he was instantly welcomed. Again I think this really reflects on us just having to find new people and branch out and you will find people that accept you. Then a man comes up to him and asks for his help in healing his son. Jesus then heals him on the spot. I think this goes to show Jesus’ power in the way that he can see all and can fix all you just have to believe. The man believed and he went home and his slaves told him that his son was healed. His whole family then came to believe. All it takes is one sign from God and your life will be changed. Sometimes these signs aren’t apparent. Sometimes you have to really listen to them. If you follow these signs God will keep you safe and make your life better.

“They remind us that if we suffer, Christ is with us in our suffering. Today God is telling me that we have to turn to God, but even then all of our suffering won’t go away, it means that our boat wont sink even if we do go through a bunch of storms. We won’t know He’s there until we let Him into our life and acknowledge that He’s there and with us. Every single day gets harder, more work, less energy, more weight to carry. That shouldn’t be a problem though as long as we still make time for God and acknowledge that He’s here with us everyday. A simple prayer or even your own prayer to Him will still remind you that He’s there to talk to anytime and He wont share anything with anyone else, just a you and Him conversation, He knows you better than anyone else to ever know you, so act right and talk to Him, its rude to ignore people, and you shouldn’t be ignoring Our God if He’s calling for you to turn to Him. One day hopefully you realize that He is our everything, and not just the key to Heaven, but the key to never ending happiness and love.

This sign that Jesus is shown is saying that whoever comes to him sick, shall be healed. Whoever comes to him broken, gets returned fix. Whoever comes hungry and thirsty, shall be fed and filled. When we are filled with so much sin that brings us down as we are carrying our cross. Jesus will fix your weariness, your brokenness, your sorrow. Everything that you have broken shall be fixed. Let’s say you have a car, you think that is good since it is your own. Your father says drive. So you drive off. You do not pay attention and you crash the car your father has given you. You try to hide it, but you realize that you must tell your father. So you drive it back knowing that you will be punished. He says lets fix it together. He is your father he wants to s[pend time with you, let him into to help you so that you know that you sinned against him. You are not alone in this fight, you have God that is running back to you in this relationship. All you need is to realize you’re a sinner and repent for your actions and you will be healed from your sickness.

In this Gospel, I believe Jesus is trying to show us that he is all powerful and all loving. When this man comes up to Jesus and asks him to heal his son from his sickness. Jesus seems irritated in my opinion because He seems like he is disappointed in the people for not believing who He truly is.
But still, Jesus heals him from who knows how far away. This shows that he can do anything whether that be miracles or even just talking to us in general. He is always there for us. In this Gospel it also refers to the Wedding at Cana where Jesus had made the water wine. This is another miracle of many that shows us that he is the one Lord.

beautiful words they are referring to the story

I think Jesus is trying to say that most people will not believe in Jesus unless we see miracles to make us believe. It’s amazing how much we forget God in our troubles and our sins. It’s amazing that when he does a miracle THEN we go follow him but if he just talks, we’re not gonna follow him because we don’t think he’s cool or awesome and we’re not in the awe of God anymore, we don’t follow him to follow him, no most people follow him because they wanna see more miracles from him. And that’s not right, we should follow him because we believe in what he does, not because we want to see him do miracles, or because you’re trying to get close to him so he will do anything for you. No! We need to follow him because we believe in what he does and we believe in him.

I think that we shouldn’t really have to see a miracle in order to believe in Jesus. Because of the Catholic education that we are given, we take for granted what God has given us. Our education allows for us to be able to go to church and have adoration. Doing that we should be able to get closer to God.

The man believed someone whom he only heard about, he believed Him when he said his son was healed and would live, and he believed Him enough to leave his son to go meet this Man that could have been a liar and couldn’t be able to heal his son, but I think that it was the mans belief that Jesus healed his son for.

I think God is saying that here is nothing He cant do. Though Jesus (The word made flesh) He came on Earth and he healed and helped everyone.

“They remind us to serve and not to be served” this really stuck out to me because we as humans don’t serve God as much as we should, or others. instead we expect God to automatically answer our prayers when we don’t even try. Or we expect others to be kind to us or do things for us when we are not kind ourselves.

In the Gospel today it talks about how God’s words are very important and we need to notice that and that what he says gives us faith and that’s what we believe in. God is the center of our faith and if we don’t believe the things he says than we have no faith in religion.

Today’s gospel is all about Jesus performing miracles. What stuck out to me was the fact that everyone believed that the was the son of God and that he could do these things. In the Bible you hear a lot about people not believing, but this gospel is kind of the opposite. The people in all the cities Jesus went to believed completely and I think that that is really cool.

When he heard that Jesus had arrived in Galilee from Judea, he went to him and asked him to come down and heal his son, who was near death.” This part of the Gospel really stuck out to me today, because it shows the faith of a royal official. The royal official is one who you wouldn’t expect to believe in Jesus and His power. It’s not expected that he would trust Jesus. The man simply asked Jesus, told Him that he truly believed, and was rewarded for his faith. Jesus tested him, but he stayed steadfast. We are called to be just like the official, blindly trusting our loving God to take care of us and answer our prayers.

Jesus just has the power to tell someone that their son will live which is kind of just bizarre. And the man he told that to believed him. What all matters is that we believe and trust that Jesus does what is right for us because he will give us what is good just as long as we have as much faith in him as much love he has for us.

I admire the faith of royal official from today’s Gospel. While Jesus did heal many people with his actions and visible signs, he also did it with mere words. I feel like this is a foreshadowing of how the mass is today because the bread and wine are changed using only the words of Christ, which makes it hard to believe because humans are visual beings. When we can’t physically see or notice a change sometimes we don’t believe it took place. So I think today Jesus was just trying to tell us that even if we don’t “see” the miracle take place or don’t “see” him present in our daily lives, it doesn’t make him any less active or present.

I think that the gospel is trying to tell us is that God is showing us the way. Its not hard to understand what God wants us to do in life, but even when we know what God wants us to do it isn’t going to be easy doing it. Sometimes we have to go through a lot just for a good grade on a test. That is how it is for God. If we listen and follow our hearts, then we will find the right path for heaven. It’s not like were having to do something impossible or anything, but we have to listen to what we truly want. Some people ignore that goal that God wants them to do and just try to leave a mark on this world so they will be remembered and known. But all you need to do is follow the path God sent you and you can make it to heaven. God wants us to make it to heaven but ultimately it our choice because God loves us and he will not hate us for whatever choice we would make.

He knows that we do not have strong enough faith to hear something and believe it. He knows we must see signs to believe. Jesus wants us to believe his words without having to see a sign. We must come to him in prayer, so that we can have faith without seeing. Jesus will show us signs and you will be able to feel him in your life and presence if you just sit and pray. He wants you to believe and have hope in Him without having to prove himself physically.

Today I read about When the Galileans welcomed Jesus, because they remembered him from the miracles he had performed last time he was in Galilee. The reason Jesus was there is because of his teaching that no prophet would be welcomed in their native place. Once he gets there it seems like immediately a man needs his help to heal his son. I think this part is telling us Jesus will always be there to help us, and we will never stop needing him, just like how the people in the cities he went to never were not in need of Jesus’ help.

I also feel that we need to put on the armor of our lord and God and just be loving. The armor of our God is so strong and so powerful which makes it something amazing to have such an amazing relationship with God. There is a man who is asking if God can heel his son from sickness. Jesus seems annoyed because everyone thinks that he is not the true messiah, true savior. But Jesus son of the living God is our Savoir, he saved you from sin he rose from the dead and he could still not believe him after all that he has done? He has shown miracles and has saved, healed, helped and restored others that thought they could not believe in him. But in the end he did we should thank him for all that he has done for us, for our families and even for our daily lives. Let’s look up to him to never give up who we are. I think what God is trying to tell us here today is that we should have faith in him. In today’s Gospel, a royal official comes before Jesus and begs him to heal his ill son. Jesus agrees and heals the official’s son if he believes. The royal official believes Jesus’s words and leaves. Jesus’s words changed reality and healed the official’s son, and the royal official was happy because he believed. Like the royal official, we must believe in Jesus like the royal official. Jesus’s word changes reality, and where can we experience this change? In the Mass, during the Eucharist. When the priest consecrates the Eucharist, he acts in the words of Jesus and changes the substance of the bread and wine to the Body and Blood of Christ. The Real Presence is a genuine phenomenon that we must believe. Then, we can have total faith in God and let his words change our lives.
