Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.

At that time Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon.
And behold, a Canaanite woman of that district came and called out,
“Have pity on me, Lord, Son of David!
My daughter is tormented by a demon.”
But he did not say a word in answer to her.
His disciples came and asked him,
“Send her away, for she keeps calling out after us.”
He said in reply,
“I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
But the woman came and did him homage, saying, “Lord, help me.”
He said in reply,
“It is not right to take the food of the children
and throw it to the dogs.”
She said, “Please, Lord, for even the dogs eat the scraps
that fall from the table of their masters.”
Then Jesus said to her in reply,
“O woman, great is your faith!
Let it be done for you as you wish.”
And her daughter was healed from that hour. MT 15:21-28

“It is not right to take the food of the children (Israelite’s-the chosen people) and throw it to the dogs (Gentiles-non-Jews and not the chosen people).” ”Please, Lord for even the dogs (Gentiles) eat the scraps that fall from the table of their masters (God’s mercy for all).” The woman’s faith in Jesus’s Word just like the centurion who asked Jesus to heal his servant shows the power of faith. We, too, must believe in the power of Jesus. Both people were in need of a miracle of healing for someone close to them. They had such great faith that they did not even ask Jesus to come and touch those that needed healed. They believed He could heal just with His words. The Centurion’s words of faith are honored in our Mass in which we say, “Lord, I am not worthy for you to enter under my roof, but only say the word, and my servant (soul) will be healed, ” before we receive the healing power of the Eucharist at Mass. Do we really take time to think about this powerful experience and what is truly happening?

Today, many miracles continue to happen through God’s word. The difference is in belief or faith. Jesus is always waiting with open arms to all who believe in Him. Whether He is physically present or not His power still reigns and miracles are being performed all over the world. Do you have the courage to believe?

Today’s challenge: Believe that your prayers are being answered God wills it. Increase your faith by reading the Scriptures daily. Sit in silence and be at peace with Jesus. Go to Mass and see the miracle of Christ hidden behind bread and wine with His words of consecration at the Last Supper.

Be a servant, become a saint!
