Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.
Jesus said to his disciples:
“When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies,
know that its desolation is at hand.
Then those in Judea must flee to the mountains.
Let those within the city escape from it,
and let those in the countryside not enter the city,
for these days are the time of punishment
when all the Scriptures are fulfilled.
Woe to pregnant women and nursing mothers in those days,
for a terrible calamity will come upon the earth
and a wrathful judgment upon this people.
They will fall by the edge of the sword
and be taken as captives to all the Gentiles;
and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles
until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
“There will be signs in the sun, the moon, and the stars,
and on earth nations will be in dismay,
perplexed by the roaring of the sea and the waves.
People will die of fright
in anticipation of what is coming upon the world,
for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
And then they will see the Son of Man
coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
But when these signs begin to happen,
stand erect and raise your heads
because your redemption is at hand.” LK 21:20-28
Today, Jesus reveals important spiritual lessons about the end of the world. The Catholic Church defines them in the catechism:
680
Christ the Lord already reigns through the Church, but
all the things of this world are not yet subjected to him.
The triumph of Christ’s kingdom will not come about
without one last assault by the powers of evil.
681
On Judgment Day at the end of the world, Christ will
come in glory to achieve the definitive triumph of
good over evil which, like the wheat and the tares,
have grown up together in the course of history.
682
When he comes at the end of time to judge the living
and the dead, the glorious Christ will reveal the secret
disposition of hearts and will render to each man
according to his works and according to his acceptance
or refusal of grace.
Therefore, “The Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory,” is already here in the life of the Church. God’s grace, His life in us, is here right now. Jesus is here in the Eucharist sacrificing Himself for us right now. He is waiting for us to ask for forgiveness and repent in the confessional right now. We are reborn in Baptism and make vows to fight Satan/sin, follow the Truths of the Creed, and grow in holiness, right now. This grace is working through us to transform us and make us other Christs. We are given a free will to choose grace or reject it. The life of the Church guided by the Holy Spirit in the Mystical Body of Christ is our call to holiness. We accept it or reject it everyday. Peter Kreeft says, “Our physical death is easier than dying to self right here right now.” It’s harder to give up your will for God’s Will while we are alive than to die physically. Very few people have a change of heart on their death bed. We are set in our ways very early in life, but with God’s grace anything is possible. His love is the most powerful thing in the world. God is love and mercy, ready to give it to anyone who asks. Jesus is the light that reveals all things, “the glorious Christ will reveal the secret disposition of hearts and will render to each man according to his works and according to his acceptance or refusal of grace.” God did not send His only Son to condemn us but to save us. JN 3:16 God does not condemn us, we condemn ourselves by rejecting Him. We cannot hide anything from God.
As we prepare for Advent, may we be mindful of the memorial of God pure Spirit “the Word” becoming Man in the flesh, totally and completely vulnerable as a baby in the manger surrounded by animal dung with an animal trough as His bed. He had to be clothed and fed by lowly humans. Is there any single event where God teaches us humility better than this. The cross probably beats it, but God becoming a Man is a close second. It is a season of preparation to look inward deep into our heart and ask for a more resolute and contrite heart. If our hearts are hard, may they be pierced with a single ray of Christ’s light to open up and be vulnerable for Him. If we are holding grudges or have given up on asking for forgiveness because the battle for holiness seems impossible, may a ray of Christ’s light pierce your heart, so that you are ready to make a good confession, get up, dust yourself off, and prepare for the next battle. Jesus can’t lie. He will return today, tomorrow, or at your death and your heart will be judged. He has given all. His love for you is greater than your own love for yourself. God has done everything He needs to to save you and welcome you into the Kingdom. How will you respond to His love and grace? Your eternal future depends on it.
Today’s challenge: Set a timer on your phone to lessen the time you spend on social media, video games, Youtube, etc. Take the extra time that you have and sit with God in silence. God’s voice is a still small voice. Train yourself to be still and silent. Stop your mind from racing and put yourself in the presence of God. Then, ask God to speak, “Speak Lord, your servant is listening.” 1 Samuel 3
As John the Baptist said, “He must increase and I must decrease.” JN 3:30 This Advent, make prayer a habit in the same place at the same time. Train yourself to sit in silence and pray, reflect daily on Scripture where God speaks to your heart and moves it, and find a good spiritual book to help you grow in your faith. We cannot worship something we don’t know. If God gave us an intellect, shouldn’t we use it continue to know Him, our Creator, our Savior, and the Holy Spirit together with Mary and Joseph.
Be a servant, become a saint!

i think judgment should only be used by god and judges on judge shows like americas got talent or if someone wants to be judged. Over all judging is a horrible thing and people shouldnt really do it
He´s telling us to be ready for the judgement day. To make sure we make the right decisions. We never know when he´s coming back, so we better be prepared.
i think that god is trying to get us ready for judgement day and that we should be ready for it
The main point in this passage is that God will come down in what you would think is hell, but when he comes down all will be revealed why he did that.
We need to be ready for Judgement day. We need to always be prepared for when the end of our life comes. We will never know when that day will come so we need to always pray, always go to mass, always receive Jesus and always read scriptures. He is telling us that the devil will try to creep into us but we have to fight against him. By praying to God daily and worshiping him only we grow closer to him.
I think this means that you should not judge anyone no matter how “different” they are, they are still children of God and you should speak with kindness and respect to them. You can think that if Jesus was there watching you say the thing you are saying, he would be happy with what you are saying and not upset with what you are saying to someone. You want to go to Heaven, so be kind and loving to everyone around you.
Jesus shows us in this gospel, that the end of the Earth is coming, and it should not be a scary thing. We may be afraid, but the final day “shows general judgement” will come, and the son of God will come to us in Body and Spirit. Jesus is our savior, and in this gospel he announces the final day for life on earth, and we will all be put fourth before, God and Judged. We all will be united with God forever, or we will suffer in hell eternal. I personally, am worried or concerned about this day. It could come at any time, but it hasn’t in the past 2000 years, and so it will most likely not happen during my life time, but we need to try to bring those who are unfaithful closer to God, so that they may be prepared for Judgement day as well. Jesus is crazy, and this is amazing that he has died, given himself up for us, and his coming back for humanity once again.
When you see someone doing something bad you should know that it is and that you should respond with something good. We know when we see the bad that we should do something about it but instead we leave it to the side. When Jesus comes again we shouldn’t go off to the side and be afraid.
good job
I don’t have a phone and I’m not usually on the computer for fun. This is saying that Jesus can’t triumph until Satan gets in the last word, I think, like when the people wanted to kill Jesus and they did, but then Jesus got the triumph.
People will die because the powers of Heaven will be so strong.
I think Jesus is saying we will die of fright, like a person dies of shock, when they get scared. We will die of fright when he actually does come, because we are just not ready.
i think think that God is trying to tell us to give here on earth for there will be a bigger reward for you in heaven.
Jesus is sacrificing himself right now for us. We all should be grateful for all that Jesus has done for us.
Jesus is saying that we will hide from him in fright because we are scared that we will be punished for not believing in him.
Jesus will be there when tempation is high and will be there untill the final judgement and he will judge if you go to heaven ot got to hell if you did terrible things and fell away from Jesus.
Jesus wants us to be mindful or our actions, words, thoughts, etc. We never know when the world might come to an end. We must make sure that we live our life the right way. We must prepare ourselves for the second coming and make sure that our hearts and mind are ready for Christ. WE need to make the most of our time here on Earth. If we live our lives correctly with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the the help of Jesus and God the almighty. We need to let our hearts be guided by the right path which is Jesus Christ. Only then my we be ready for Jesus.
We need to listen to Jesus right now. He is calling us to be something and we are basically ignoring him. When it comes to being here with Christ, we need to have faith in him. WE also, must be ready for when it comes to judgement day, God isnt asking for much. He died on the cross to save us from our sins thats why we are here. Following Scripture can be very important because we dont know when it come to judgement day. WE must be ready.
we should not judge people no matter what they look like or how you think they will be like. We also need to prepare for the judgement day and Jesus’ second coming because we do not know the day or the hour He will return.
I think Jesus is trying to tell us that if you see someone being rude or disrespectful to another person, be the bigger person and go stand up for up for that person being bullied.
Today´s reading is telling us whats going to happen and what we should do about it.
God is the judge and we will all be judged there is no alternative ending it is either heaven or hell. And we must be ready to be judged if we are not bad things may happen.
We should be ready when Jesus comes back down to Earth to judge us. We should be judged and not judge other people.
We should not judge people because only God should be judging us at the end of time or the second coming
God is telling us to prepare for judgement day. He is telling us to not be afraid, but be prepared and ready for the second coming.
I think God is trying to tell us that when judgement comes we should be prepared. When our time does come we should not be afraid of it but rejoice that we will be reunited withe God. I also think we can help prepare ourselves for God by following his commandments and acting like a good christen.
We must not let ourselves be tempted by material things, but we should allow ourselves to be tempted at the meer thought of getting to Heaven. Judging people based on first appearances with them isn’t right, and we should refrain from judging anyone.
Jesus is trying to tell us that we don’t know the time or the hour that God will come and judge us, nor the day that our death will meet us. Jesus us trying to tell us how to live, this is the END nothing after, just God, Heaven, Purgatory, and Hell. That is all we have left at the time of judgement we don’t have much left but during our life we can prepare and remain Holy to remain with God so that when the hour comes we will be ready and stand firm with God to the end.
I think this is saying that we should be prepared for Judgement Day because we don´t know when it is. To prepare for Judgement Day, we can treat others with kindness.
Jesus is guiding us he is telling us to follow God in every aspect of our lives. He is telling us to constantly be preparing for judgement day. We need to do what he taught us to join him someday in heaven.
Jesus is telling us to always be prepared because we do not know the day or the hour He will return. We must be ready because it will be frightening.
Jesus is telling us to be prepared for Judgement day. God’s grace is always with us. We need to be prepared now and make choices that will bring us to Heaven.
This passage means to me that everyday in our life we have to be prepared for the day ahead of us and try to follow Jesus the best we can. We don´t know what day God will join us back on Earth so we have to be ready. Going to Mass as we are required, saying our daily prayers, going to confession regularly, and also receiving communion so that God´s grace can be with us and our venial sins gone. We also have to make sure that we are following Christ in our daily life and not just pretending to be a Catholic, but actually living a Catholic life.
I think that this passage is telling us that we always need to be prepared for Jesus coming back.
We should always be prepared for judgment day. We should also not judges others because that is not the right thing to do. We should also prepare for the second coming because we don’t know when that will happen.
The main point of this passage is that people will thing that God is coming from hell and they’ll die of fear from it but some will go to Heaven or hell.
I think this means that since we don’t know when judgement day is, we should always be ready for it. We have to watch our actions and live like Christ because we don’t know when the second coming is or when we will die. Since we don’t know when it is, we should always live like it is coming.
We are not sure when Jesus will come again, so we must always be ready. We need to make sure we do not judge anyone, and we need to put all of our faith, trust, and love into God and His plans. We need to get off of our electronics and go and pray to try and grow closer to Jesus Christ our savior. As long as we have our faith in Christ, we should not be scared of Judgement Day. We need to have our trust in him.
Jesus could come back in 5 minutes. BE READY!!!!
Jesus is teaching us that as we prepare for advent and go the confession get everything off your chest and say it all.
He is telling us that we all must be ready for judgement day, because we don’t now when judgement day will come. We need to prepare by being nice to everyone, participating in mass, and help bring others to him. God has done so much for us, including giving us His only son, we will never repay the whole dept, but we can so what we can.
People will be afraid that God is coming from hell on the last day and some will die of fear. Some will go to Heaven, some to Hell.
One thing us as Christians can do to get ready for Judgement Day is to repent. All humans need to realize that when the Master comes, we really need to be ready Another thing we can do to get ready is to go to Holy Mass or Reconciliation. We need to get as prepared as we can for when Jesus comes back to Earth. We can act like we’re ready on the outside, but are we really ready to be judged on the inside. We need to prepare our hearts so that they are ready to receive grace and true love from our Lord. All in all, we need to be ready to be judged so we can get into heaven. I know that what really every human truly wants is peace in heaven with the Trinity.
We shouldn’t judge people no matter what because it’s bad and we judge or gossip because we think it makes us cool. But wait until judgement day then you will say I’m sorry please forgive me but it’s to late we had our chance.
I think that Jesus is trying to tell us that we should not be afraid for when judgement day comes. Also that we should not sin and we should repent, because we don know the day or the hour that He will come.
Something that stuck out to me is that we should be ready for when God come again and rejoice when he does.
what Jesus is trying to tell me today is that I need to be ready for judgement day. You never know when it is coming so you must be ready.
We really need to know when to listen to God in our hearts, he is always there for us even if we ignore him we won’t be able to get to heaven unless we really know God’s love. We shouldn’t gossip or lose our temper he will forgive us if we come to him.
I think that is means that even now we judge others on earth and make fun of them. We will get our due in Heaven. We should fear the Lord because the is all powerful. For we do not want to go to Hell. We want to be in Heaven eternally with the Father.
Jesus is telling us that we don’t know when he is coming back so we always have to be ready for when he does.
The main point in this passage is to repent for your sins. That one day you will be judged for your sins. That in the end the truth will be revealed and you will be judged
God is preparing us for judgement day and we need to be ready.
I think that Jesus is telling us that we need to be ready at all times. Even when when we least expect him he could return.
We need to be prepared to be judged on the day that Jesus comes. When we pass we need to be ready to take our judgement as it is.
There is only one person that should judge. That’s Jesus. We have no right to judge.
This Gospel passage means to me that when Jesus comes again walls will fall, the rich will be poor and the poor rich, empires crumble, kingdoms destroyed.
Jesus is telling me that I need to be ready for him to come again during the second coming. I need to be vigilant and not sin, because we don’t know when Jesus will come back.
What is being said is that God is so powerful that he will shake the heavens and we will never know when he will come back to us .
I think that Jesus is trying to tell us to be ready for the Second Coming. We do not know the day or the hour that He will come, so we must always be ready and prepared for His coming.
Jesus is teaching us that we need to be ready for when He decides to come down. We do not know the day nor the hour in which He is to come.
I believe we should be ready for the end. Be kind and forgive because we don’t the day when He will return.
God is saying that we need to repent and be open to his call. This is basically saying that we need to repent and be ready for the second coming. We need to be ready because we do not know the day or thee hour he will come.
Jesus is telling us that we will be judged no matter what and that we will either go to heaven or hell there is no way to get out of it after you have been judged.
I think this passage is trying to say to us that we should be ready for the second coming and that we should do the sacraments to help us prepare for the second coming.
Jesus is telling us that we always need to be prepared for the second coming by living within him.
Jesus is telling me to be ready for judgement day and to keep my soul clean.
He is saying that we should be ready for judgement day.
We need to be prepared for Advent. I think it’s also talking about Judgement day. Christ is in each and every one of us, so we need to repent. Judgement day is very important because you get judged by God, our savior and king. We need to learn and not judge people. In this world right now, we have a problem with judging people. In this society, everybody thinks it’s okay to judge because other people do it. If that’s the case, then be different! We will not know the day or the hour our savior will come, but we need to prepare for his second coming.
in anticipation of what is coming upon the world,
for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
This stuck out to me because of the power in it.
We need to prepare for judgement, so we need to repent. God wants us to become the best version of ourselves.
God is preparing us for judgement day, we never know when he will come back to us on earth. So we always have to be prepared for when he does come back.
No matter what is happening in your world or in anybody’s world we always need to be ready for the second coming. We need to get as prepared as possible and be ready for anything
I think that Jesus is telling us that he is the one who will judge and he will be very clear when he does and that we need to be ready because that day will come and we will not have time to fix our wrongs, but we need to be respectful no matter what so that we will not be afraid of judgement day.
We need to be prepared for the second coming. Because we don know the hour he will return. We can prepare by following Jesus and following the 10 Commandments. We should always be prepared because we do not know when Jesus will come again.
God is saying that we should be ready for the second coming of Jesus. He says that everything will fall into chaos, but instead of fearing that day we should be ready for it. He says that there will be great signs of his coming and we will know when it is happening.
Jesus is telling me that us as his people shouldn’t judge others . Even though we might not like them doesn’t mean that we should talk about them behind their back . Even if we think it makes us cool it really isn’t it’s just plain rude . But then we have to wait for our judgement day but then its to late .
Christ is telling us that we need to be ready at all times, for we do not know the hour of the second coming. We have to try and remain in a constant state of grace, and we must try to be Christ-like. God humbled himself by becoming a human, so we need to humble ourselves before him in our everyday lives.
We must be ready for judgement day. We must act as if everyday is the day Jesus returns. We have to have out sins forgiven through Reconciliation so we are prepared for Jesus’ second coming. We also have to live our lives with holiness and try our best not to do actions that make us sin. Living your life with the Ten Commandments is also a good way to live in holiness. Since we aren’t sure when Jesus comes we should try our best to spread his word to everyone who doesn’t believe to help them into heaven as well.
I think Jesus is speaking to us by telling us that Jesus will be back anytime. I also think He’s telling us that the devil will try to creep into our lives, but we will have to fight him. He’s saying to not judge others no matter how “different”, or how much money they have. He wants the best for us, and he wants all of us to go to heaven. This message from Jesus is right in front of your eyes everyday! We way feel alone and isolated inside, but you’re not. Jesus is always guiding you. If you let Jesus in to your life, you can receive grace and gifts from God. Let the Holy Spirit in to your life, because it will really make you become more holy.
On Judgement day we should not be afraid thinking we are going to die, we should see that we are going to heaven. We also should be the most joyful that we have ever been. We need to be ready for the second coming by receiving Reconciliation more often.
I believe that this is telling us that we should not be scared of judgement day. Some people might think that Jesus will be harsh when he confronts us and our sins, but he is telling us we shouldn’t be, and that we should be prepared. We all should be prepared even if it doesn’t happen in our life time. Either way, judgement day will come, and we shouldn’t be frightened.
Do not be scared when Jesus comes to judge us be happy, because this is where he decides if we can go to heaven. Also do not judge another person by the way he looks or dresses who are we to judge the poor only jesus can.
Our Lord is saying that we should be happy when this day comes, not scared out of our minds. When all these things begin to happen and people are terrified we will be able to say that we know our God is coming for us. He will come to take us to a better place. So when this happens, don’t cry, don’t be afraid, that is the day the Lord will come. Rejoice instead of crying and becoming scared, Jesus is here for us.
This scripture is telling us that we need to BE READY. We do not know when he will return to save us. We all need to prepare for his return and be good Catholics. We all need to read scripture, spend more time in prayer, and go to mass as much as possible. BE READY he could return tomorrow.
Jesus is saying that we need to be ready for judgment day. We don’t know when judgment day is so try to live out every day like it is you last day on Earth before Jesus’ second coming. We should not be the ones judging others on how they do things we, so not gossiping our talking behind peoples backs. The main thing i think about every morning is to follow the ten commandments God gave them to us to help us get to heaven.
What Jeus is revealing to us today is that we need to be ready for Judgement day, for we know not the day, nor the hour our master will return. We must act constantly in a state of grace. Right now we are acting the way we want because our parents are not around, but if we are not doing something they approve of and they see us doing it we feel our heart drop. Just imagine that infront of the person who created everything for you gave you everything that the world could offer. Then, he comes in the second coming. He is like a coffee filter when you go to heaven he lets not material possessions go through, your body, nor evil go through. If you are full of evil and go through nothing can wake it into the kingdom of heaven. For we know not the day nor the hour the master will return we must be ready.
We have to be ready for Judgement day so we must repent and be careful of our actions because when that day comes there is no going back on our actions
I think that God is telling us that don’t be afraid that Judgement day is coming. If you put time an effort into God you will truly know what he can do. He is ready to forgive whoever will put the time to know him. He is like a friend you will only know them when you seen them when you put time and effort into them.
I think that God is calling me to be the best man I can be. I could not ask for a better life I am so glad that have God in my life. We can be prepared for judgment day by going to confession.
I think he is telling us to be ready for judgement day. We need to not judge anyone because everyone is different. Treat others as you want to be treated and respect others and be kind. Live every day as it is your last, be ready for Jesus be ready for Judgement day.
The way we feed our soul is like how we take care of a dog. You have to feed it, walk it, and clean it. The way we feed our soul is by receiving the Eucharist in Mass. The way we walk our soul is by doing good deeds and actions and helping other people. The way we clean our soul is by going to Confession.
