Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.

Brothers and sisters:
Draw your strength from the Lord and from his mighty power.
Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm
against the tactics of the Devil.
For our struggle is not with flesh and blood
but with the principalities, with the powers,
with the world rulers of this present darkness,
with the evil spirits in the heavens.
Therefore, put on the armor of God,
that you may be able to resist on the evil day
and, having done everything, to hold your ground.
So stand fast with your loins girded in truth,
clothed with righteousness as a breastplate,
and your feet shod in readiness for the Gospel of peace.
In all circumstances, hold faith as a shield,
to quench all the flaming arrows of the Evil One.
And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God.

With all prayer and supplication,
pray at every opportunity in the Spirit.
To that end, be watchful with all perseverance and supplication
for all the holy ones and also for me,
that speech may be given me to open my mouth,
to make known with boldness the mystery of the Gospel
for which I am an ambassador in chains,
so that I may have the courage to speak as I must.  Eph 6:10-20

Yesterday, Jesus taught us to strive to enter through the narrow gate.  Jesus is the narrow gate.  ”No one can come to the Father except through me.”  Today, St. Paul teaches us what effort we must put forth to strive through that narrow gate.  We are not dealing with just our fallen human nature but a powerful fallen angel, the Devil.

1. Put on the armor of God.  ”Draw your strength from the Lord and his mighty power.”  Stop trying to get to heaven on your own, you need God and others. (Humility)
2. Truth.  ”I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.”  Educate yourself about Jesus and His teachings/Divine Revelation
3. Righteousness. “
it’s the result of a grace-created interior transformation in which believers can grow through authentic obedience (1 John 3:7) as true children of God (Matt. 5:45).” Mark Brumley Catholic Answers
4. Gospel of Peace.  All times and all places need the Gospel of peace.  How are we doing in this time and this place?
5. Faith.  A gift from God. According to Pope Francis, “
It’s not a banana smoothie, but a transforming encounter with Jesus Christ, here and now.”  Enough said!
6. The Word of God is, “the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit”.  We must pray in the Spirit, ask the holy ones (saints) to pray for us and never be silent when fighting for the will of God.

Today’s challenge: Reflect and look at areas in your life where the Devil may be deceiving you.  He is an expert at it!

Be a servant, become a saint!
