Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Jesus said to his disciples:
“Stay awake!
For you do not know on which day your Lord will come.
Be sure of this:
if the master of the house
had known the hour of night when the thief was coming,
he would have stayed awake
and not let his house be broken into.
So too, you also must be prepared,
for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come.
“Who, then, is the faithful and prudent servant,
whom the master has put in charge of his household
to distribute to them their food at the proper time?
Blessed is that servant whom his master on his arrival finds doing so.
Amen, I say to you, he will put him in charge of all his property.
But if that wicked servant says to himself, ‘My master is long delayed,’
and begins to beat his fellow servants,
and eat and drink with drunkards,
the servant’s master will come on an unexpected day
and at an unknown hour and will punish him severely
and assign him a place with the hypocrites,
where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.” MT 24:42-51
If we were to describe a faithful servant, what would he or she look like? Jesus says today, “Prepared”. To be prepared, we must first encounter Christ, the living God, in the Word and the Eucharist. We must learn to sit in silence and listen, then we must gain knowledge or be taught/formed (Scripture, catechism, spiritual books). Reflect in silence over these materials.
Next, we must believe in the knowledge gained through faith, be baptized, reject Satan and relentlessly grow closer to Christ. We must grow in a relationship with our Savior, pray. Our grace tanks must be refilled often to live out our baptismal promises, the Eucharist-Jesus Christ, Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity, and reconciliation-repent and change your life, be transformed by Christ.
Our daily rosary must be offered up with the help of the Blessed Virgin Mary meditating on the life of Christ. Walk with Jesus in the Stations of the Cross or do some type of sacrifice/fast every Friday to remind us that Christ died for us, deny yourself/kill your ego. Gain knowledge on what Jesus went through in His Passion. Every saint started at the foot of the cross with Mary. Every difficulty that burdens you throughout the day offer up with the suffering of Jesus Christ, He gives purpose to suffering.
Everyday, ask the Holy Spirit to join your spirit so that you may live with the purpose you were created for and strive for holiness. God is fully alive in us through the Holy Spirit to help us until Christ returns. We must be transformed and live as other Christ’s for the world, always striving for greater holiness for the greater glory of God. Last, sit in silence and listen so you will be, “Prepared” when the Master returns.
Today’s challenge: Be prepared. Pray, hope, and don’t worry! -St. Padre Pio One of my coaches taught me, “Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance”
Be a servant, become a saint!
#Christian YOLO
Heart, Fight, Trust
Please pray for me and my family as I will for you!
I think that is trying to tell you that Jesus can comes to earth and judge us, so keep on fighting sin and talking to God. I think that you are going to fail but we must preserver. When this time comes for any of your family you should not be sad because if he is foloing this he is in heaven.
We need to ask the Holy Spirit to fill our souls with grace, so that we can be holy like we were made to. This way we can get to the eternal life we’re supposed to be.
The gospel tell us that we need to be prepared for when Jesus comes to Earth. We need to be free of sin and to be prepared for when He comes to make sure that we are able to go back up to Heaven with Him.
I think the gospel is saying that we never know when God is coming back. It could be any day any time so we have to be prepared. And to always act like Christ so when the day comes we can be happy in heaven with him.
This shows us that God will come at an unknown time so we need to be ready. you cant just pray right when he’s going to come, you need to be good your entire life not when hes coming.
This gospel taught me that I should always be ready for when God comes. I should always treat people right and treat them how I would want to be treated. We need to resist the temptation of doing bad things to people and treat people how God would want me us to treat people.
The second part of this gospel stuck out to me the most. It tells you to be prepared for your “Masters” coming. This means to be ready for when Jesus’ second coming, but this could really apply to anything. My cross country coach always tells us that people wish they could do what we do. They wish they had the opportunity to go out each day and challenge yourself every day, growing stronger every step. He tells us about his aunt (Dolores) who was the best 12 year old tennis player in her state. On her 13th Birthday she got a new tennis racket. She planned to get up early the next morning to use it, but woke up with polio. You don’t want to wake up in 10 years regretting the amount of time you spent on your couch. All the times you had the opportunity to do something great but stayed in your basement instead. Maybe you won’t even realize all you could have done until you can no longer do it. “Blessed is that servant whom his master on his arrival finds doing so.”
In today’s gospel we hear about how the Lord can come back at anytime so we must be prepared. One good way to be prepared is to pray a rosary or Divine Mercy Chaplet. Another great way to prepare for the coming of the Lord is reading daily readings and applying it to our life. The Gospel is instructions to get to Heaven.
Jesus is saying that if you don’t act right, right now and you put on an act of you care so much then you’ll be judged as a liar. He wants you to act in the right way now so that when judgement day comes you’ll be prepared and ready to be honest with your actions in the future and past. It is important to know what the Trinity, the Holy Spirit is asking of you.
What stood out to me was that the Son of Man can come again whenever, so we must be prepared. “Ff the master of the house had known the hour of night when the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and not let his house be broken into.” We must be prepared and ready for Jesus by going to confession and receiving communion.
This tells me to get closer to God instead of pushing him to the side we need to learn how to put him first instead of other things.
The scripture today is telling me that if Jesus is going to come on any day or any hour, I would want to be OVER-prepared. I want to get to Heaven as quick as possible. And the best way to get to Heaven is to pray. A lot. I need to start setting time aside each day to pray. Just a little bit of silent time. And if he comes at an unexpected hour, then I need to be over prepared all the time. Wow.
We need to live our lives accordingly. We don’t know when Jesus will come again, so we have to be ready for it. Jesus says to stay awake! We cannot fall asleep into sin. We need to be prepared for Judgement day.
In today’s Gospel Jesus it defiantly trying to tell us that we should always be ready for his return. Everyday we should live like it was our last day in earth. Obviously, this will be challenging but just because we believe in Jesus and eternal life, doesn’t mean getting there will be easy. But we can still try everyday to be prepared for what is to come.
I like this quote. It makes sense because Jesus might not even know when he will come again. He’s probably still deciding where to put it on his calendar. It could be tomorrow, or 1,000,000 years from now.
this i feel shows us that some day we will die but we shouldn’t gloat about that we should rejoices
I don’t know which one is worse. Is it saying “I believe” but not believing, or saying “I believe” but not doing? Who can come to the Lord and not believe? How can someone see the Lord and turn away? Every time we sin we turn away from the Lord. But He still loves us. He still believes in us. It doesn’t matter to Him if we fall a million times, but what matters is if we keep following him. How far will we be from him on the last day? Will we be with Him… or without Him? Stay awake. Be ready. For no one knows when the Lord will come.
What I think this gospel is trying to tell us that although we don’t know when or how Jesus Christ is coming again, we should always be ready and prepared. We should do things such as pray, stay away from sin, and be holy.
I think that we need to realize what we are believing and take our part to it. To always be thinking about our faith and our God
What stuck out to me the most was when Jesus said to his dispels stay awake for you never know when the Lord might come.
I feel like this really shows us that He will come again. At any day or hour, He will come. So, we should live our life and be kind to everyone and try not to fall into sin. We should always be ready for Jesus to come again.
Jesus is telling us that we don’t know the hour of our death. We must live our life to our very best. If we don’t, we will be assigned a place with hypocrites and wailing. We must be prepared for Jesus’ second coming.
This gospel is saying that we need to be prepared. For God’s coming by fighting against sin and praying.
This gospel is telling me to be ready for God all the time, because you never know when he will try to talk to you. If you are not prepared He will not speak to you. So we all need to be ready for God!
My favorite part. I can apply this to my life because at school I can be prepared for a fire drill or a tornado dill or something. I can apply this to my life because at home I can prepared if someone breaks in by calling the cops and hiding in the basement closet.
For me it means like you always be ready for the Lord next coming.
This part of the Scripture symbolizes that you can never know when Jesus will return. No one can predict a time when Jesus will come to Earth. So we need to practice our religion daily to be prepared. You can’t change what you did in your life on Earth after you die. We need to keep holy the Sabbath day, and follow the rest of the Ten Commandments. Some day we will need to share the Scripture with at least one person. We need to help people to convert instead of saying “You will go to hell” for every little thing they do wrong because that drives them away. People need to help others prepare. Everyone needs to come together and believe.
The scripture to me is that to always be ready for Jesus to return. What stuck out to me was “for an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come. Saying, to always be ready or stay awake.
The gospel tells us we need to be ready for when Jesus comes. You need to be prepared and treat others like Jesus would.
“Stay awake!” This really spoke to me because always being ready is a big thing for me. Especially when being ready deals with Christ in my life. Always being ready for Him is an important thing that I think is something we should all be ready for. Always try our best to do what is right . Be focused on Him, and always be ready for God!
Todays reading tells us to be prepared. We must be prepared for Jesus to come back at all times because we never know when it will happen. It could be in a few minutes or not be in our lifetime at all.
Today, Jesus is telling us that we will not know the hour he will return, so we should never try and be ready. Like he says, if the master knew at what time his house would have been broken into, he would not have allowed it to be broken into. We shouldn’t prepare for the end times when we don’t know when that is.
What this gospel says to me, is that those who do not work themselves but force other people to work, are not fitted for the kingdom of God, But those who do work themselves or work for the other people, are designed for the kingdom of God.
I think the scripture is telling us that Jesus is coming but we do not know when. He comes at a random time and we need to do good or else we will be thrown into the wailing and grinding of teeth.
I think it means saying you believe but not actually believing is just as bad as just flat out saying you don’t believe.
This gospel tells me that we need to be prepared for when He comes. One way you can prepare for when He comes is praying the rosary or the divine mercy chaplet.
This gospel is telling me that we always need to be aware that God could come back at any time. It doesn’t matter what day it is because he will one day come back when we don’t expect it. So we need to remember to try our very best to stay holy and try our best at school and at home. We also need to go to confession whenever we have the chance to go. We all need to make sure that we will always be the best we can possibly be and to never give up when times get rough. So we all need to be prepared for when God’s 2nd coming does come.
Today’s gospel is telling me that we should always be prepared for God to come back. We should always be acting like the way God wants us to act. God loves us and we should love him to.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus is telling us not to fall asleep in our faith, because we don’t know when he will call for us, or be waiting for us to do something in his name. “Stay Alert”.
I think that through this Gospel, God is trying to tell me that we need to always be close to Him, because he knows when He is going to come for us, but we don’t. We need to be prepared for when He comes back. Trying not to sin anymore, going to Mass on Sundays, praying, talking, and listening to God. He is trying to prepare us the best He can, but it’s our decision if we want to listen to Him or not. We have to decide if we want to have eternal life with God in Heaven, or if we want to turn away from Him, not go with Him, and disobey Him. It’s our responsibility to decide that, not His. So don’t blame Him if you don’t have eternal life with Him in Heaven.
This taught me to always be ready for God. We don’t know when we will face God, so we always have to be ready for Him. We need to trust in God and let him guide us. This also taught me to not be hypocritical. Always treat people how you want to be treated.
I believe that this Gospel is telling all of us to be prepared for His return because the words “Prepared” and “Stay Awake” has stuck out to me the most and that’s why I believe the Gospel is telling all of us to be prepared. We should not be scared but we should be prepared for the Lord to come again.
We should sit in silence and pray everyday so that we will be ready when Jesus comes a second time. We don’t have to pray for long to start just 2 minutes in silence. Recognize that Jesus can speak to you in the silence.
I think this scripture is saying that God is calling out to us and we some times block him out and we need to be ready for the day the Lord comes down to us. We need to put the Lord above all things and not let anything distract us especially our brokenness and our sins, make way fir the Lord to come into our lives so we can be saved from our brokenness.
Jesus is always watching you, and we have to be aware of him. If we don’t stay awake, then we won’t notice Him noticing us. He reveals to us, but we must be awake and aware in order for us to notice. When we are prepared for Jesus, we can ready ourselves for the Lord. We must be made known of all the different ways He can reveal Himself to us. So stay awake and ready yourselves for God’s love. We should not be the wicked servant, the hypocrites who say and not do. Be ready for Jesus to reveal Himself to us.
God wants us to Stay awake and keep on pushing along with him in the path to sainthood in heaven. He wants us to be aware of what he is asking us to do, and we need to start saying “Yes”.
I like this scripture, its telling us that we should always be prepared. I might come tomorrow, one thousand years, or even hundreds of thousands of years but, to always be prepared for his coming. We should always be praying and striving not to sin.
When I hear the words “always be prepared for when Jesus comes,” It seems like a hard thing to do, to always be ready. I think that if I have a devoted prayer life and a faith that I truly believe in, I will be ready for when Jesus will come. I can apply this to my life by striving for a strong prayer life.
Being a servant of God means to follow the path of grace and faith to God. This is the thing that will help us be better prepared for when he comes. The Lord is there and will always be there for us that’s why he died for us. if we learn how to be kind and and Christ like we are a servant of God. We always will be when we reach Heaven.
This tells us that we should use the golden rule.
i can apply this to my life by listening to Jesus
I think that the Gospel is saying that you should be praysing God that when he comes you will know about him and you wont be like ya
I know about him when you never actually know him.
I think what the scriupture is trying to tell us is that God is trying to tell us to stay awake and that we need to pay attention when he is trying to speak to us
He is trying to tell us that we need to fight sin because he can and will come whenever he wants. That’s what he means when he says stay awake he wants to acknowledge the fact that he will come when we least expect it.
This scripture is saying the lord can come back anytime so we must be prepared.
The scripture passage today is saying that be prepared becuase you have no idea when hes coming back it could be tommorow and you would’nt know
i think this gospel is saying that God could come anytime now, so we must be awake for it. We must never forget or stop loving God or we slowly use our grip on him and we will no longer be with him.
This Gospel is saying that we must be prepared for when the Lord comes. It is important that we pray everyday to the Lord so we can get closer with him. Who knows what would happen if we we’re not prepared.
The Gospel is telling us to be a servant of Christ. to follow his path . we never know when the Holy Spirit will resurrect. we should always be in the path of God.
He is trying to tell us that we need to fight sin because he can come back whenever he wants. That is what he means when he says stay awake .
Today’s Scripture is reminding us that life is short. We don’t know when we will have out last laugh, last movie, last time with your family, so we need to always be kind as if our next moment of life is our last. If we keep acting like we’ll always have plenty of time to fix all of our mistakes, we might loose our chance while we still have it.
I think that this reading is great for middle schoolers because it is telling us that we should always be in the state of grace. Confession is one of the most important sacraments and we should go on a regular basis. The more we sin the less it feels like a sin so we have to constantly remind yourself that sin kills love so we should never get comfortable with sin. If you were to take away one thing from this reading is that you should go to confession regularly to make sure that you are always close with God.
In this Gospel Jesus says “Stay awake, for you do not know the hour the Lord will come.” To me this means we cant just live for the world, and then when we are alone just worship God and expect for when the Lord come to go to heaven.
Jesus could be coming anytime and we should be prepared. We can go to confession and pray for forgivness.
In the Scripture passage today, Jesus explains to us to be prepared for the second coming through a parable. The parable is about a servant misusing his master’s property, and being caught. We don’t know when our Master will be coming so we need to be ready. We can’t allow ourselves to be caught up in our sin when He comes. We need to set aside our pride and humble ourselves so that we can be prepared for the King to come again.
In this message God is saying to be prepared! We do not know the time or day of the second coming, to make sure we are prepared for that time we our told to live our lives to are very best.
We need to also make sure we go to mass every Sunday that is a way of being prepared, God says “follow me.” he does not mean just to follow him he means to follow him and be prepared for the second coming.
I feel that this tell us to be prepared for Jesus’s second coming. When that time come we shouldn’t push him away, we should embrace him. We should try to be as close to God as possible because he is the one who can help us no matter what. So we should prepare for Jesus to come and allow God to help us.
I think it means that we need to always be aware of Jesus’s presence, because we never know when he could make himself known to us.
I think this gospel is rather interesting. The way it is written is unlike any other I’ve seen. it has a stylistic message that you must truly understand the gospel to figure out.
I think today’s scripture/gospel reading is basically saying that the Lord Jesus Christ could comedown to Earth at any moment in time and to always be prepared for the next time he visits Earth. Next time he does come down to Earth we will be ready to get judged and hopefully have a better outlook on what is good and what is evil.
I really love the start of this Gospel because it tells you to be ready for the Lord to come, and be prepared like you are for anything else in your life. Another statement that stuck out to me was when it said to not go and sin lots of times, just because you think Jesus won’t come the next day. I think the lesson is to be prepared for God and not get distracted, and do everything you can to get closer to God.
I think it is saying that we should always be prepared. So that when he does come we are rewarded unlike the wicked servant.
Jesus is teaching me that even when we sin we still need to be ready for him to come and save us. Jesus may want us to make good choices but he will still love us enough to take us in to heaven with him.
The lesson Jesus wants to teach us is that we can’t predict when Jesus will come from Heaven to Earth, so we must always be ready to follow Jesus and give ourselves up for Him. We have to “not fall asleep” in the hope of the ressurrection, and be ready do follow Him in His teachings.
I think That Jesus is telling us to be prepared. If we are prepared then we will know when he is in right in front of us. If we are not prepared we will never know when he is right in front of us.
Jesus teach me that we we should never sleep, because we never know when he is going to come. We should always prays him and never stop doing that until it is are last day.
Jesus teach me that we we should never sleep, because we never know when he is going to come. We should always prays him and never stop doing that until it is are last day. We should
What Jesus is telling me is that we don;t know when He is coming again.Which means we need to prepare fro his coming like reading the Gospel, praying the morning and night prayers, and etc. In the reading Jesus was warning the people that the Lord is coming, and this is your reminder that He still is.
In this reading today a line that really stuck out to me was¨for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come.¨ To me this means that we will never know the day that God will come, so we should live everyday not knowing if there will be another day. We need to build our relationship strong to God for the day that he comes.
I learned from this reading that you should always be prepared for God no matter what. I learned that I should not just sin because I think that Jesus won’t come that day. I need to read the bible and go to church every Sunday to start my journey with God and be Prepared.
You must always be prepared for Jesus to come. To sit in silence means to have listen and have faith in God.
Today’s gospel is telling me that we need to be prepared and ready for when God will come back down to Earth. Ways to become prepared is maybe by everyday sitting in silent and letting God speak to us. We should always be treating people the way God will. We don’t know when he will come, so we should always be reading for him. God loves us so we should love him.
I think that this Gospel is about that you need to be prepared, because Jesus can come anytime at any point in the day. I learned that you should start you journey now to become holy.
The lord is calling us to STAY AWAKE. What that means to me is that he is calling us to not sin when others may be committing sin. The whole world around us may be sinning but he wants us to STAY AWAKE or in other words to not sin. Jesus also says when the whole world around us is sinning he will come then and he wants us to be not sinning during those times so we can go to Heaven with him.
What I took from today’s gospel is you never know when the lord is coming. You have to be prepared for that day and the days that follow.
You can’t just have a cheat day and think “oh it doesn’t matter what i do today no one will notice,” because God knows everything you are not being sneaky you can’t hide anything from god.
This reading is telling us to be prepared. what I think when it says be prepared I think its telling me to stop pushing God back because you don’t know when he’s coming. So instead of saying ill pray later you should pray now.
While I was reading this the words “Be sure of this” stuck out to me. I thought about what the words might mean. I think that they mean that we can be sure that he will come back, probably during a time when his return is most unexpected. He might come at a time when all belief in God is gone. He may come as a reminder that he is real and that he deserves worship. In the end, I don’t know when or how he will come, but I know he will.
I think Scripture says we must not turn our backs against God. We must not turn to the devil. However, if we do turn our backs to God, He is forgiving.
The Gospel is saying to be ready for God’s return, and to keep working to be holier and a better follower of God.
I think the gospel is about to grow faith with Jesus. Read his word, reject Satan. And to listen for what he wants us to do
This gospel is telling us to prepared. When it says be prepared I think it means to stop pushing God back, or saying no i’ll pray later because what if there is no later, what are you going to tell God when your standing before him? If you tell God that you forgot, ether way he’ll know the truth because he gives you multiple opportunities to pray to Him.
I like this quote because what i under stood is that you have to stay awake for when the lord come and not fall asleep into sin.
Today we read about how God wants us to be prepared, to stay awake. He wants us to be ready when he comes down so we can live with him forever, so always be ready because he could come down at any time. We need to always live the best we can so we are prepared.
I think that Jesus is trying to teach me to be prepared for Gods second coming which means to go to Sunday Mass, and also to pray to Him and pay attention to God.
Jesus is trying to tell us that we should be prepared. If we are prepared we will see when the Lord comes to us. When we are not prepared he will come unexpectedly and we will never know if he was there or not. But if we sit or lay in silence we are prepared for the Lord to come to us, at any moment. We should always be prepared so that we do not miss the Lord coming to us.
i think the scripture is trying to say like fight your sins and wait for the second coming of Jesus so while were like waiting just keep fighting your sins.
I should always be prepared for judgement day. I will never know when it’s coming. If I am prepared then I’ll go to heaven!
Jesus is saying that anything can happen at anytime so always be prepared
The reading is telling us that we don’t know when Jesus will return. So Stay Awake means that sinning a lot today isnt good due to the fact that Jesus could come anytime.
I think what Jesus is saying is that we must be ready for anything by relying on him. We need to depend on him fully to get to heaven.
This gospel taught me that I should always be ready for when God comes. I should always treat people right and treat them how I would want to be treated.
This gospel taught me that I should always be ready for when God comes. I should always treat people right and treat them how I would want to be treated. It wouldn’t work
I think it is saying to always be ready for Christ. We do not know when he is coming so we should always try to be in the state of grace.
In this Gospel, it’s telling us that we need to be prepared for, when Jesus comes for the second coming, when we all ascend into Heaven body and soul, and for the new earth.
This gospel tells me that we need to be prepared wen Jesus comes down to earth, and that we can’t just put it aside because we’re “doing something else”.
This tells us that we need to be prepared for when Jesus comes, and to pay attention to your faith.
I think that Jesus wants us to help each other prepare for him and also we need to grow our self.
Jesus is trying to help us stay away from the wicked.
“Stay Awake” Is what really reached out to me. It helped me realize that we always need to be prepared for Jesus and have lots of room for him in our lives.
This is telling us to always be prepared for when God comes and to practice your faith, help others, and be ready
This scripture passage made me realise that we do not kniw when the lord will come is even says it in the passage and to always be prepared for when the lord arives again.
“STAY AWAKE” stood ou to me becuase we need to be prpared when the Lord come becuase he will come when we least exspect it.
I think the Gospel is telling us to know that God that he will always be there for us and to always turn to him when he is needed the most.
I think that the scripture is trying to tell us that Jesus could come at any time and we need to start taking that into consideration. So basically faith is important and we need to be prepared for Jesus to come.
Jesus is telling is to keep praying and keep going his way. And also he is telling us to to not slouch in church and always do what you are intendid to do.
Jesus is telling us we dont know the hour of our death and that we need to be in the state of grace all of the time in order to go to heaven.
