Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.
On a certain sabbath Jesus went into the synagogue and taught,
and there was a man there whose right hand was withered.
The scribes and the Pharisees watched him closely
to see if he would cure on the sabbath
so that they might discover a reason to accuse him.
But he realized their intentions
and said to the man with the withered hand,
“Come up and stand before us.”
And he rose and stood there.
Then Jesus said to them,
“I ask you, is it lawful to do good on the sabbath
rather than to do evil,
to save life rather than to destroy it?”
Looking around at them all, he then said to him,
“Stretch out your hand.”
He did so and his hand was restored.
But they became enraged
and discussed together what they might do to Jesus. Lk 6:6-11
Jesus continues to heal. What part of your life do you need healed? We usually go to confession for the same sins and it becomes discouraging. We all have crosses to carry, but many of us have the same ones. You are not suffering alone, trust me. Today, Jesus also teaches us that we do not have to follow the law if it is against the will of God. “I ask you, is it lawful to do good on the sabbath rather than to do evil, to save life rather than to destroy it?” Abortion is the biggest holocaust in our country’s history. Continue to pray for the unborn and all mother’s and father’s expecting. Pray for all of those who have had an abortion. Then, think about ways we destroy our lives physically or spiritually. It may be overindulging in food, drink, or lust. It may be through gossip, back stabbing, rumor spreading, or cyberbullying. We may destroy by not including others or neglecting family members in our own home. Teens, get out of your rooms and off your electronics and spend time with your family. You may not be around those who have taken care of you your whole life for much longer. Most of all, every day Jesus is asking you to “Stretch out your hand.” He wants your salvation more than you want it yourself. Don’t destroy the greatest opportunity for your life and soul, a life with Jesus Christ. If you really decide to come to Jesus, you will be like the man with a withered hand and you will not only have your hand restored but your whole life. Conquer sin and death in your life by allowing Jesus to heal you. Go to confession and daily Mass as often as possible.
Today’s challenge: Tear down the walls of a hard heart. Allow yourself to be healed. Don’t become discouraged by falling to the same sins. Pope Francis says, “Jesus never tires of forgiving, it is us who tire of asking for forgiveness.”
Be a servant, become a saint!
