Pope Francis, Christ Vicar on earth for us spoke in His General Audience about the Church being our mother and never abandoning us. I would like you to think about your own mother and how nurturing she is. How she spent sleepless nights taking care of you (you only know about sleepless nights if you have stayed up to late at a sleepover), feeding you, changing your diaper, taking you to sports/activities, helping with homework, and in many homes is the best Christian example. Even if your earthly mother has abandoned you, Pope Francis explained that our spiritual mother will never orphan us. When we fall in sin she is there, when we need grace she is there, when we need fellowship she is there, most of all she will always be here until Jesus returns. Jesus tells us the Devil will never prevail against the Church doors. He left the Holy Spirit to be with us until He returns. Is it any wonder we are part of the longest standing institution in all history? It gets me excited about my faith, my Savior, and my Church. Put your trust in the Lord, love Him back, and live!!!!
