Humbly submit your will to God (thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

The angel Gabriel was sent from God
to a town of Galilee called Nazareth,
to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph,
of the house of David,
and the virgin’s name was Mary.
And coming to her, he said,
“Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you.”
But she was greatly troubled at what was said
and pondered what sort of greeting this might be.
Then the angel said to her,
“Do not be afraid, Mary,
for you have found favor with God.
Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son,
and you shall name him Jesus.
He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High,
and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father,
and he will rule over the house of Jacob forever,
and of his Kingdom there will be no end.”
But Mary said to the angel,
“How can this be,
since I have no relations with a man?”
And the angel said to her in reply,
“The Holy Spirit will come upon you,
and the power of the Most High will overshadow you.
Therefore the child to be born
will be called holy, the Son of God.
And behold, Elizabeth, your relative,
has also conceived a son in her old age,
and this is the sixth month for her who was called barren;
for nothing will be impossible for God.”
Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord.
May it be done to me according to your word.”

Then the angel departed from her.  LK 1: 39-47

Mary’s Fiat: “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord.  May it be done to me according to your word.”  What is the story that leads up to this blind and total trust in God at a young of 13?  She was consecrated to God by her mother and father who were barren most of their life, Anne and Joachim.  They promised God they would consecrate their child to God if He would allow them to have a child.  They kept their promise and sent her to live in the Temple from a young age where she learned all that God had done and how He had promised a Savior.  Mary had no idea what was going to happen by saying “yes”, but she trusted God with her whole heart, soul, body, and strength.
Most of us have been prepared by a Catholic education, we have been going to Mass for years and received the Sacraments faithfully, are you ready to say “yes” to God.  Are you ready to give God your complete self?  Are you ready to die to yourself and put on Christ each day?  Are you ready to give God your whole heart, soul, body, and strength no matter what vocation God prepares for you?  Let your “yes mean yes” and “your no mean no”, then get off the fence and believe. Have faith and live with a purpose, stop going through the motions and love with your whole heart.

Today’s challenge: Look to Mary’s Fiat as complete trust in God.  She had many sufferings and joys with Jesus in her life.  In the end, she was crowned Queen of Heaven and Earth and all the Angels and Saints.  Believe.  Trust in God.  Go through the trials and sufferings with Christ carrying you.  Experience the greatest joy God can possibly give you as your reward.
