Humbly submit your will to God and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

When the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees,
they gathered together, and one of them,
a scholar of the law, tested him by asking,
“Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?”
He said to him,
“You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart,
with all your soul, and with all your mind.
This is the greatest and the first commandment.
The second is like it:
You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments
.” MT 22:34-40

Commands sounds negative.  God loves us more than we love ourselves and He knows what is best for us.  He is the most intelligent.  Thus, we must learn to be obedient to Him and His Will.  It will bring us the greatest happiness in this life and the next.  Think of commandments as I want to protect you from getting hurt or sinning because I love you and I want you to be happy, safe, and with me forever.  Jesus is actually quoting Deuteronomy, “4d Hear, O Israel!* The LORD is our God, the LORD alone! Therefore, you shall love the LORD, your God, with your whole heart, and with your whole being, and with your whole strength.e 6f Take to heart these words which I command you today.g Keep repeating them to your children. Recite them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you get up.h Bind them on your arm as a sign* and let them be as a pendant on your forehead.i Write them on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates.j

This is the Greatest Commandment and sums up all of the law and prophets.  Repeat it to your children, write it all over you house, take it with you when you go.  Love God above all, be selfless! Amen.

Today’s challenge: Put the Great Commandment in your home or in the garage before you walk into the house.  Use it as a bookmark.  Put it as the background on your phone or computer.  Put it as the quote under the signature in your emails. Then, most importantly, live it!

Become a saint!
