Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.

Brothers and sisters:
Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the Gospel,
and not with the wisdom of human eloquence,
so that the cross of Christ might not be emptied of its meaning.

The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing,
but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
For it is written:

I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
and the learning of the learned I will set aside.

Where is the wise one?
Where is the scribe?
Where is the debater of this age?
Has not God made the wisdom of the world foolish?
For since in the wisdom of God
the world did not come to know God through wisdom,
it was the will of God through the foolishness of the proclamation
to save those who have faith.
For Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom,
but we proclaim Christ crucified,
a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles,
but to those who are called, Jews and Greeks alike,
Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom,
and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.  1 Cor 1:17-25

Paul makes it clear that we are made to preach the Good News, Jesus died, rose, and gave us new life through baptism. Faith is a gift from God and necessary for us to be saved.  Do you believe this happened and what are you doing to proclaim it?  Anything we are not doing to proclaim it takes away the power of the cross.  We all go through times of doubt, worry, dryness in prayer life, but the cross of Christ and the teachings He established must be passed on by us.  This is our time and our place to make sure the power of the cross does not die with us.  We are given everything we need to become holy through Christ and the power of the cross.  What are we doing, “so that the cross of Christ might not be emptied of its meaning.”?  We do not need signs or wisdom just Christ and the power of the cross.

Today’s challenge: It’s Friday, read something about crucifixion specifically Jesus’s crucifixion.  Read something about the Physical Death of Jesus.  Suffer with Christ by giving something up or fasting today.  Take the crucifix down and hold it in your hand and talk to Christ thanking Him for His love for you.  Share it!
