Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.

Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan
to be baptized by him.
John tried to prevent him, saying,
“I need to be baptized by you,
and yet you are coming to me?”
Jesus said to him in reply,
“Allow it now, for thus it is fitting for us
to fulfill all righteousness.”
Then he allowed him.
After Jesus was baptized,
he came up from the water and behold,
the heavens were opened for him,
and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove
and coming upon him.
And a voice came from the heavens, saying,
“This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” MT 3:13-17

“Allow it now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness”.  John the Baptist, the last great prophet ushers Christ into the world and Christ today “fulfills all righteousness”.  Jesus submits to the Father’s plan to save the human race.  John baptized with water, Jesus Christ baptizes with water and the Spirit.  John’s mission is complete and Christ’s mission is beginning.

How awesome it is that we too are a part of this plan. We, too, are called to be baptized with water and the Spirit. We were made for a purpose and have been given a mission.  This is why God sent Jesus.  This is why Jesus died.  We must recognize the beautiful gifts we have received from our Creator and Savior.  We must go forth living with purpose, fighting Satan and growing in holiness living out our baptismal promises so that we too can fulfill God’s will for our lives.

Today’s challenge: Recognize that you were made with a purpose and for a purpose.  Seek out Christ in your heart to find it. Thank your parents for having you baptized and thank God for your ancestors who kept the faith and passed it down to you.

Be a servant, become a saint!
