“LORD, EVEN THE DOGS UNDER THE TABLE EAT THE CHILDREN’S SCRAPS.”

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

Prayer Prompt before reading MK 7:24-30: Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father and God the Son are so that I may know who I am.

The Syrophoenician woman is a non-Jew and a foreigner. She is unclean according to Jewish law. She has not been raised in Jewish ways and does not understand or know about the story of God and His chosen people of Israel. This is why Jesus says, “Let the children be fed first (Jews).” She perseveres, “Lord, even the dogs under the table eat the children’s scraps.” She understands that she is not worthy but she believes Jesus has the power to heal her daughter whom she loves.

Faith consists of complete trust in God, vulnerability, and total surrender to His will. It’s hard. In the most difficult times in your life, the worst addictions, the hardest sin, do you believe God has the power to help you through it? Do you believe Jesus is right there with you in that suffering, that temptation? If not, what do you put your faith in? What do you believe?

As we are about to embark on another 40 days in the desert, we will be fasting, praying, and giving alms. This is a great checkpoint to see how strong your faith is. What parts of your life or sin is leading you away from Christ? Is your faith lukewarm? Do you desire holiness? Ask Jesus to increase your faith this Lenten season!

Today’s challenge: Faith begins with hope. Pope Francis said that Christian hope is born in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is a belief that begins in your heart. When we realize we cannot do life on our own, we fall to our knees and ask God for help. We then start a journey of faith by seeking Jesus Christ and we sit and begin to learn about Him in the Scriptures. Once we have discovered the joy that Christ brings, we want to share it, which is love.
God, please increase in me faith, hope, and love.

Be a servant, be a saint today!

This is saying that even the people whom others put down the most have just as much of a chance at becoming great in the eyes of God.

The woman whose daughter had a demon in her was a Greek and this shows that people from all the way across the Mediterranean came to Jerusalem just because they heard about Jesus. The faith in this lady is incredible because she walked over 1,000 miles with someone to get to Jerusalem and that is an incredible amount of faith.

Today in the Gospel, it shows us that God’s mercy is not limited by race, ethnicity, or background. Jesus loves us no matter what and who we are. This idea resembles the Gospel today. A woman comes and lays at Jesus’s feet. She is a Greek, and a Jew. Jesus loved her so much that he healed her daughter. The woman believed and was so hopeful of Christ, that she believed that even the tiniest crumb could heal her daughter. That is how we need to believe in Christ. We need to trust in his plans and what He has in store for us.

“She replied and said to him,
“Lord, even the dogs under the table eat the children’s scraps.”
Then he said to her, “For saying this, you may go.
The demon has gone out of your daughter.”
When the woman went home, she found the child lying in bed
    and the demon gone.”
This part stuck out to me due to it saying that God can send out demons, he can help us. We just need to believe that he can and will help us. If we do not believe why would he drove out demons? There is no point if you wont believe. The Lord is capable of many incredible things, we just need to believe.

in today’s Gospel, Jesus healed a woman’s child from a demon. Jesus saw that the woman knew that she is unworthy and still asked Him to heal her child. Just as the woman we are unworthy for God’s love because it is so great, and He knows that. But He still gives us His love.

In today’s gospel, Jesus tells us to trust in His plans for us and ways. The woman and her daughter believed in Jesus so much! We need to trust in Him like they did. Having trust in God is the most important thing in life even if we don’t believe it or think so!

In the Gospel the Syrophoenician woman believed in Jesus, enough that she fell at his feet and begged him to drive the evil spirit out of her daughter. That woman believed and that’s our problem, we don’t. We need Jesus, if we don’t we might have the same problems and we’re need Jesus’ help to clean her. We need love and Jesus places that right in front of our faces and we take it for granted. Sometimes we don’t even take it. We have Jesus and Mary and Joseph and God and all the angels and saints that love us and care for us yet we don’t take that love. A lot of the time we don’t take the love from our neighbors. And THATS what’s wrong with us. We need to take his love. Yet we don’t, so fix it.

Today’s gospel talks about a woman who wants to drive a demo out of her daughter. Jesus talks about how it would not be right to give the children’s food to the dog. She responds that the dogs eat only the table scraps. I think when she said this it was a symbol that they are humble. Doing this she showed her following of God’s beatitudes and laws so he cleansed the daughter.

She replied with this “Lord, even the dogs under the table eat the children’s scraps.” Jesus praised her response and the demon left her daughter. Jesus seemed to not want to heal her daughter at first. He questions her and she answers correctly. This is like our life when we pray to God and ask him for something we do not receive it instantly. He tests our faith and if it still stands strong he fulfills our prayers.

Faith consists of complete trust in God, vulnerability, and total surrender to His will. It’s hard. In the most difficult times in your life, the worst addictions, the hardest sin, do you believe God has the power to help you through it? Sometimes it’s really hard to remember that God can help us through the hard times, and sometimes when we pray our prayers aren’t answered in the way we want them to be. That can lead us to thinking that if God is so powerful and almighty then why would he give me this pain, or why wont he take this pain away from me. We as Catholics have to just trust in Gods plan of salvation, because in reality Jesus dying on the cross wasn’t the end. It was just the beginning of God’s great plan of salvation to permanently save us from sin and death so we can be with him and in him forever in heaven.

Just like when you go to the doctor they will most of the time give you something to get rid of your sickness and we trust that they know. We have to have that same trust with God that we can present anything to him and he will know where to go next and that may be an answer or no answer. God is our doctor we have to have trust and know when we go to him he will most of the time give us something to heal our spiritual sickness.

What I got out of this today is that Jesus is a strong God because he can drive out any demons out of anyone because in the Gospel it says that the women is syrophoenician at birth so this just shows that Jesus can cure anyone you just have to love him for him to do it.

In today’s Gospel Jesus heals a Greek Woman’s daughter from unclean spirits. God tells her to do something and she completely trusts him, because of this she was healed. This tells us that we need to trust God and completely surrender ourselves to him.

In today’s Gospel, a Greek woman begs Jesus to cast out a demon out of her daughter. Now, back in Moses’s time, the Israelites were freed from slavery because of God, as they were the chosen race. But Jesus. Jesus came down to save everybody. Not just the Jews, but everybody in the world. He wanted everybody, whether it be Gentile or Jew, to know God’s plan to save everyone. Imagine a doctor who is world famous for healing just about any disease, and your mother has a sickness that no ordinary doctor could cure. You’d want to see this doctor to see if he could heal your mother. But, say that the doctor lives on the other side of the world, would you go? Yes, of course, anything to save your mother! Likewise, Jesus is our doctor who saves us and heals us through our hearts. Except, he’s not far away, but close to us in our souls. Many around the world worship him and Christianity is constantly getting new followers from many places. These followers have great faith and would travel the world on pilgrimages to see God and worship him. Likewise, we need to have great faith, faith so powerful that it could take us anywhere, whether it be Santiago in Spain, St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican, or the adoration chapel in your local church.

Today in the Gospel a Greek woman asks Jesus to drive a demon out of her daughter, and because she believed that Jesus came to save her as well as the Isrealites, he drove the demon out of the woman’s daughter. Jesus came to save everyone from their sins, not just a specific group of people. If we believe in that, God can do great things through us and many amazing things can happen.

In today’s gospel, Jesus heals a Greek’s daughter. It is showing Jesus does not discriminate in mercy. He didn’t care that she was not a Jew. She showed great faith and was rewarded. Because of her faith her daughter was healed. Jesus can do the same for us. If we truly believe he can, God will answer our prayers. He might not always do it in the way we would like, but he does it in the best way possible. Jesus can deliver us from any daily struggles we might have, he shows us mercy. At our worst, and at our best, he is there for us. We should never be anxious about anything because we have God on our side.

I belive that faith consists of complete trust and surrender to God’s will, even in the most difficult times. The story of the Syrophoenician woman illustrates this: despite being a non-Jew and considered unclean by Jewish law, her perseverance and belief in Jesus’s power led to her daughter’s healing. we should always trust in God know matter what we shall be THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD!!!

Todays gospel shows us that God can do great things if we have faith. It may not be driving out demons, but he can certainly help us in our needs if we have faith and ask him.

I think in today’s gospel Jesus heals a Greek woman’s daughter of an unclean spirit.because of the woman’s faith her daughter was saved. this shows us that we must be like this woman and have faith so strong even with many other things going on in our lives we must always be strong in our faith because it not only affects us but the people around us as well.

today in the Gospel Jesus casts a demon out of a woman. this shows that if you put your faith and love in Jesus he will save you. you CANNOT save Yourself, that is something that only God can do. She believed he was her savior coming to save her and in return he casted out the wickedness inside of her daughter. This Gospel shows that if we put our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ we truly can be saved from the wickedness and snares of the devil.

In today’s Gospel Jesus casted out a demon from a young girl. Jesus can do great things. Jesus is like a doctor he can heal the sick and he can cast out demons. No other doctor can do that. Only Jesus can.

The Gospel today taught me that Jesus is always looking out for you. Even though the girl wasn’t with her mother, Jesus still healed her. We may not notice that Jesus is always with us and healing us. We should be like him. We should pray for others.

what stood out to me today was ” Lord, Even the dogs under the table eat the children’s scraps.”

this stood out to me because it shows that even when we don’t believe, God will still love us and protect us, no matter who we are.

“Lord, even the dogs under the table eat the children’s scraps.”
Then he said to her, “For saying this, you may go.
The demon has gone out of your daughter.”
When the woman went home, she found the child lying in bed
and the demon gone.” Jesus is so powerful, and i think that this gospel helps people see that. He made the demons go away, and helped the girl out. Whenever you are hurt and suffering, go to Jesus.

Jesus grants the woman’s wish because she persisted. It is just like the parable where the friend needs bread at midnight. “Knock, and the door shall be opened unto you, seek and you shall find.

The Lord is willing to forgive us if we want to be forgiven and if we are truly sorry. We need to try to do what’s right, when we know what is wrong. We should always trust in the Lord.

The part of this passage that stuck out to me the most was when Jesus said, “Let the children be fed first.” This meant to me that we should help others first and help ourselves later because God is already giving us all the care that we need.

It really stuck out to me that Jesus is kind and able to help us when we are unclean. A woman that was pissed by demons fell down to the feet of God and cleaned his feet with her hair and her tears. Jesus forgave her. This shows how Jesus is so forgivable and is able to help you when you fall down into sin. Always look at Jesus when you need his help and have trust in him that everything will be okay with God on your side.

I like how it said feed the children first, like how others are children. This is probably to show that we should help others in time of need and God will help us! We should always trust in him and follow him.

God doesn’t care what race, ethnicity, or background we have, he just wants us to be happy and be good with God. he also wants us to be happy and good with other people not just him. even if we are going through a tough time and we have addictions he is still gonna love us no matter what. just believe in him and he will always help you

“As we are about to embark on another 40 days in the desert, we will be fasting, praying, and giving alms. This is a great checkpoint to see how strong your faith is. What parts of your life or sin is leading you away from Christ? Is your faith lukewarm? Do you desire holiness? Ask Jesus to increase your faith this Lenten season!”
lent is around the corner. you can give up anything. your phone, Tiktok, social media, etc. but you can also give up unhealthy foods and junk and pop. but to increase your faith you can read the bible every night, go to sleep saying a prayer, at least say one prayer during the day. etc. give up one thing
for lent and start doing something else

I think the phrase “As we are about to embark on another 40 days in the desert, we will be fasting, praying, and giving alms.” Sort of gives us a good representation of what we are doing. Jesus fasted in the desert for 40 days and for us to just slightly feel what he did this is a good time for us to do that and get closer to him.

In this scripture reflection, what really stood out to me was how it talks about how you have to have a serious faith during hard times. Even though you will face issues, you MUST remember that Jesus it not punishing you, its just the way life will go.

“LORD, EVEN THE DOGS UNDER THE TABLE EAT THE CHILDREN’S SCRAPS.” Something that stood out to me about this was that someone is saying that even the animals that people own are waiting for food. Its like us waiting to get to heaven because we have been waiting to get their sense the day we were born.
