Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
“MOREOVER, BETWEEN US AND YOU A GREAT CHASM IS ESTABLISHED TO PREVENT ANYONE FROM CROSSING WHO MIGHT WISH TO GO FROM OUR SIDE TO YOURS OR FROM YOUR SIDE TO OURS.” LK 16:19-31
Jesus teaches us today what happens if we don’t bring the Gospel to people. We have one shot to get this right (#Christian YOLO). This is why God gives us time, He likes to see things grow. We may not get it right the first time and we may need more time to get it right. We are living in the end times, the times after Jesus’ resurrection. Jesus can come back at any time for the Second Coming. “If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded if someone should rise from the dead.” We have the Word of God in the Bible, God’s breath, to teach us how to gain salvation (God’s will for us: He has one great desire, that you and I are with Him in heaven, our salvation-Pope Francis) and lead others to Christ. We have the Holy Spirit to guide us and lead us to virtue.
Today’s Gospel teaches us there are no second chances when it comes to eternal life. The time we have here is a gift. Since Jesus rose from the dead, this life is not the final horizon. We are made for a spiritual homeland. It is time to start rearranging our priorities and live putting our full trust in God. Today is a great time to rearrange priorities and dust away the cobwebs of a hardened heart. It is a time to love our soul more than our body. We cannot take THINGS, power, money, pleasure or honor (4 things we must despise that we think will make us happy-St. Thomas Aquinas). All we can take is the times we were unselfish and put others before self, the times we loved as Jesus loves us.
Today’s challenge: Live like today is your last day on earth. What would you do differently? What legacy do you want to leave behind. Most regrets on death beds are not loving as much as they should have; love of spouse, love of parents, love of children, or spending more time with God and family. Put down your electronics and spend time loving God and family. There are no second chances after we die. We don’t know the day or the hour the Master will return. We don’t know when God is going to call our number. Most importantly, He just wants to be your best friend!
Be a servant, be a saint today!
#Christian YOLO
God is telling us that we have time to spread the gospel. When we spread the gospel we get to heaven and whenever we say we dont have time or we are busy we will allways have time.
“Today’s Gospel teaches us there are no second chances when it comes to eternal life. The time we have here is a gift. Since Jesus rose from the dead, this life is not the final horizon.” This part stuck out to me because I like the message it conveys. It tells us that we should take things for granted because someday you will not have them and then you will be angry that you took them for granted. Spend your time on earth wisely so you don’t regret it.
God is always there for you;if you woke up this morning you’re not done.We have the Word of God in the Bible.Everything we need is in the Bible.Jesus gave up so much so we could be here today. So we should always put Him first because he is the most important.
Today’s Gospel is about A poor man that has a bunch of sores and when he dies he asks God to have pity on him because he must of been a sinner during his life and now he is in puragtory. “And lying at his door was a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores,”. “And he cried out, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me.”
This gospel tells us that God likes to see things on earth grow. He wants to see our faith and our trust in Him grow. If people had ignored Moses and the Prophets, how will they know that Jesus can save us? If it were to be our last day on earth, what would we be doing? We should be asking God for his love and mercy so that when the time has come, we may see each other in heaven with Jesus Christ.
A thing that stuck out to me today was that the man said that Lazarus was not tormented or suffering after his sadness and loneliness in life while the rich man dressed in purple garment wouldn’t give Lazarus nothing. So when the rich man in the purple robes came to the end of his life the man said you shall suffer in eternity because you lived great in this life. I just can’t see this happening I feel like God would not punish someone for eternity because he was not nice to one man.
God did not punish him. The Rich Man knew the Scriptures and chose not to follow them. The Rich Man chose freely his destiny in heaven or hell.
“We may not get it right the first time and we may need more time to get it right.“ That stuck out to me because what I get from that is even when we do something wrong like sinning we need time to get ourselves back up. When we sin God is always open arms and always forgiving. He does not care how long it takes, He is always rooting you on and waiting for the right time.
What I got from this Reflection was that you only have one chance to live right. You have to show God that you are worthy. You don’t get any second chances because neither did Jesus when humanity killed Him. We have to live according to the Scripture and we can’t let anybody get in the way of our beliefs.
“Jesus teaches us today what happens if we don’t bring the Gospel to people. We have one shot to get this right” today Jesus is telling me that if we don’t spread the word of God then people in the future people might not ever hear of him because people didn’t spread the word of God and more and more people won’t believe that God is real which would be bad. We want all of the people in this world to know that God is real so they can have a better chance to getting to heaven and so they don’t miss out on fun stuff. That is why it is important to share and spread the word of God.
I think what God is trying to say today is that you have more in common with god than you do with the devil and that is why you should believe in God.
Jesus teaches us to spread the gospel so more people can get closer to God. As a steward we are called to spread the gospel. “This is why God gives us time, He likes to see things grow. We may not get it right the first time and we may need more time to get it right.” Jesus wants us to grow in Holiness and get better at preaching the gospel.
The point of today’s gospel is it doesn’t matter how wealthy you are it only matters how much you love God. If you are wealthy and still love God over anything even your money it is fine. It is a lot easier to go away from God when more money than you can handle. No amount of money in the world is better than God.
”My child, remember that you received what was good during your lifetime while Lazarus likewise received what was bad; but now he is comforted here, whereas you are tormented” That part stuck out at me. I think it means that if we have everything, yet refuse to share we are no better than the rich man in the story. We need to share and not always think about ourselves.
Today’s scripture reflection reminded me of what lent is all about. It reminded me that we need to repent till it comes time for Jesus to die and resurrect. At the end of lent Jesus is gonna rise up to heaven and open up the gates of heaven for us. So we need to get ourselves prepared for our everlasting life for when it does come time in Heaven.
Jesus is telling us what to do and how to go to heaven but if we don’t spread the gospel then the faith will die and christianity will die.
Something that I got out of this was that we can not enter into heaven if the only thing that we care about is money, and materialistic things, and I know that everybody says it, and you probably don’t even pay attention to it when somebody talks about, but the reason why people say this so much is because it’s true. If we worship our money, our job, or our phones, than how our we going to worship God, so we need to put aside the things of this world, and go follow Jesus.
Then Abraham said, ‘If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded if someone should rise from the dead.’” This stuck out to me today, I think it means that they have as much of a chance at going to heaven as the rest of us. If we don’t believe in God’s word then what good would it do if we got this great sign telling us to believe and repent? The bible is that sign.
Today Jesus is telling me there is only one shot at life. When we die that is when we either spend time with God for eternity or spend time with the devil forever. There is no second chance. We need to give up all material things and find a relationship with God if we want to spend eternity with Him. We never know when our time is up. So, be ready every minute of every day.
“Moreover, between us and you a great chasm is established to prevent anyone from crossing who might wish to go from our side to yours or from your side to ours.” The devil might try to take us away from God in various different ways. Just like this says there might be a chasm between heaven and hell that separates them. We should try to make a chasm/wall in our brain to try to keep bad thoughts the devil might put in our brain away from us.
If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded if someone should rise from the dead. Jesus is telling us that if we do not follow the scripture we don’t follow Him. He is who scriptures are about. He is the Savior. He is the Messiah. He is God.
We have to bring people to Jesus. We don’t have a second chance to get to heaven. We have to get it right. God is the right answer. We need God.
The saying “MOREOVER, BETWEEN US AND YOU A GREAT CHASM IS ESTABLISHED TO PREVENT ANYONE FROM CROSSING WHO MIGHT WISH TO GO FROM OUR SIDE TO YOURS OR FROM YOUR SIDE TO OURS.” is so powerful that it pulls me to get closer to God.
What God I think he is trying to tell us is that God gives us a chance to grow and become more faithful and to grow closer to christ he gives us time so we can grow and live see what right and wrong so we can come to the kingdom of God
We should submit our will to God. We must submit ourselves to God so we can get closer to God. He loves all of us and we can always come back to him.
What i like about this gospel is that Lazarus suffered during life but is rewarded in heaven. This is why we need to follow God because life is limited God is eternal.
” Be a servant, be a saint today” to me this means that you have to try to become a saint every day that you wake up. God taught us that we need to be saints, to me, to be a saint means to be the best you can be, but you have to be yourself. WE NEED TO BECOME SAINTS.
Jesus is trying to tell us there are no second chances when it comes to eternal life. So pretend its your last day on Earth. Love your parents, love your brothers and sisters, or spend more time with Jesus or your family.
Today, I felt like the gospel was telling us that if we live our lives without any attachment to worldly things then you will probably be better off. And while it is still okay to enjoy things of this world we have to keep in mind that we are not of this world and therefore those things will not satisfy us. Things of God are the only things who can truly satisfy us so we should seek those instead of those things that will once again leave us empty.
Jesus tells us in the bible to spread the gospel and to not be ashamed. more people need to spread the gospel and they need to follow God. people are drifting from Jesus and going to the devil. for our community this could be terrible.
Today’s gospel tells us that If we live a rich, greedy, life we will have eternal torment in hell but if we live a poor, humble life, we will have eternal joy in heaven. We need to be aware of what we are doing and we need to be kind. Jesus guides our choices but we have a free will and it is up to us to decide. In the end, God will make the final decision so we need to be careful of our actions because they will be shown again on judgement day.
Today’s gospel is about how we need to live like its our last because we don’t know when God will call us home
MOREOVER, BETWEEN US AND YOU A GREAT CHASM IS ESTABLISHED TO PREVENT ANYONE FROM CROSSING WHO MIGHT WISH TO GO FROM OUR SIDE TO YOURS OR FROM YOUR SIDE TO OURS. Now that has to be a tongue twister!
God is calling us to him come to me be on my side change your ways be forever separated from evil.
We need to listen to the calling.
This is why God gives us time, He likes to see things grow. He wants it to take time he doesn’t want it to be rushed. Like when you are making someone into a saint. That takes a long time. When a plant is growing it doesn’t just pop up like nothing. It takes days, weeks, months, etc. Our love for God is a slow process. That is why we have to pray daily.
“remember that you received what was good during your lifetime while Lazarus likewise received what was bad; but now he is comforted here, whereas you are tormented.” I think that while reading this you may think that Abraham says that if you are rich you go to Hell and if you are poor you go to Heaven, but this isn’t true. For if the rich man had given Lazarus anything to eat or drink, he may have gone to Heaven. This verse is not telling us to be poor, but to give to others some of what you have.
Mary is always going to be there for us. She is the Sacred Mother Mary and she’ll be there for us.
This verse is not telling us to be poor, but to give to others at least some of what you have.
This scriptures is telling us that whoever crosses from ours to yours or from yours to ours tells us that God won’t make others cross heaven to earth or earth to heaven. This is judgement because God judges us at the end of our life based on what we have done as sin and we get put into Heaven or Hell. This is our challenge for us in life. Whether we do we will have consequences in life as our actions. The way we can get closer to God is to have a relationship with God. If we don’t have a relationship with God. Then there is no love. We won’t have eternal life without that. God won’t let us or others cross from yours to ours or ours to yours. We have a secret place with God and that’s our place of peace, quiet, and prayer. This is our place to get a relationship if we have other love in between which is fine but this is greater love than the love on earth. We shall wait for the father in eternal life.
eternal life is the best thing to happen to you
“Jesus teaches us today what happens if we don’t bring the Gospel to people” if we don’t speak about Jesus to others he wont open heaven for us. Be a saint today.
Jesus teaches us today what happens if we don’t bring the Gospel to people. We have one shot to get this right This is why God gives us time, He likes to see things grow. We may not get it right the first time and we may need more time to get it right.
Jesus teaches us to love everyone. And help people.
“The time we have here is a gift” That really stuck out to me because this is just us preparing for eternal life we him. If we follow Jesus and be good Christ-like people we will always get to be with Jesus. We have to use our time on earth to worship the Lord and praise him.
Throughout our lives, God gives us chances to follow him. Throughout our lives we have turned away from him and distracted ourselves with worldly desires. No matter what we do, God will not stop loving us. He won’t just give us one chance, he gives us as many chances as we need. He encourages us to do as much good as we can do in our short lives on earth. We have blinded ourselves with impure images and our phones. We have ignored God.
we shouldn’t depend on material things to make us happy, We should depend on god who loves us to make us happy.
Things on Earth will mean nothing when we die. We need to focus on what really matter and help people who are in need of help instead of just walking past them or ignoring them like they don’t exist. We need to stop caring about what’s on earth and more about what we really need. God in our lives. For this life is only temporary but Heaven in forever.
we are mortal, that means once we pass away we will never come back but Jesus died and rose again from the dead. Pure and divine. If we were immortal this world would commit -side. our world can’t handle all the people thats why we have the disease of death. Sometimes that stops our mind and shuts off everything else.
This is saying that if we want to get to heaven, we must help the sick, or homeless, instead of just ignoring them.
Our time here is limited and when we leave we can not take material goods with us. We should be living our lives right by following God’s will and listening to him. We only get one chance to live our lives and we have to do it correctly. Getting it wrong the first time is okay and totally understandable but you should learn to grow from your past mistakes.
We mainly focus on this life and dont think about the afterlife, but we need to be constantly thinking about that life to. We need to not just do what is good for us here in this life, but also do thins here in this life that will get us to heaven in the afterlife.
Jesus isn’t telling us that if we are rich in life that we will go to hell. He is using the comparison to rich snobby and mean and poor being nice and kind. So if you are nice and kind and gentile towards all kind of people you will get to Heaven. If you curse people and look down on people and act like you are better then someone you will go to Hell. Now if you are going to Confession when you do act like the rich which everyone does they you will also be saved
in todays Gospel Jesus tells us that no matter how praised or blessed you are in earth it will not matter in Heaven. No matter how many followers or likes you get it will not matter
In this passage Lazarus is sent to Heaven and the rich man is sent to hell. Lazarus is grateful towards Abraham for letting him in but the rich man is furious. He should always help the lowly and be a servant of God. God is our example and we should follow that example. His love for us is unconditionally large and we should learn to love like Him.
What stuck out to me was “If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded if someone should rise from the dead.” We have so many things telling us that God is the truth and yet we become the rich man so many times. Are we helping out others, are we truly living out the faith, are we believing God is real? Are we the rich man or Lazarus. I challenge you to become more like Lazarus instead of the rich man.
“My child, remember that you received what was good during your lifetime while Lazarus likewise received what was bad.” The thing that we must remember is to always strive to be kind and help those around us. Even if we may not know someone we also don’t know their story. We should strive to choose the path that benefits others, not ourselves. If we are kind and forgiving on Earth then we will have a place in Heaven waiting for us.
There was a certain part of the scripture that stuck out to me. It was a line in the daily Gospel reading that said “For I am suffering torment in these flames”. I feel like that line in the scripture describes all of us. We are trying to get back to God and are burning in a place where people try to pull us away from God. We have to always remember that the devil can’t put out our light that lives inside of us. That light reflects all of us and who we are in God.
Jesus is trying to tell us that when we withhold from others, we will never be satisfied, we will only want more and more and will never share. Like the rich man he didn’t give to the poor and even let his dogs lick at Lazarus’s sores. The rich man went to hell because he had all of his pleasures on earth. Lazarus on the other hand was a poor beggar, he would feed on what little scraps the dogs left, and since he went through great suffering on earth he went to heaven.
In this scripture reflection I was reminded how much God likes to watch things grow and happen slowly and how patient I should be.
I think God is trying to tell us that we need to always be ready for His second coming. Lazarus was a humble and good man but the rich man was a bad man who did not deserve to go to Heaven.
The biggest thing we can do in our lives is being humble. No matter how wealthy and succesful we are, we are no better than someone sitting on the streets with nothing to their name. We are all human and all sinners
we always feel the need to ask for more wich is not a bad thing unless you take it to far you could have a multi million company but be nothing without jesus.
“We have the Holy Spirit to guide us and lead us to virtue.” we will always have the Holy Spirit to guide us to Holiness. The Holy Spirit will never leave our side. We can always count on it to lead us back to Christ
Jesus talks about spreading the gospel. Spreading the word is an important thing that helps bring others in to the church. When Jesus told Peter he will be a fisher of men, he was really talking to all of us. We are all called to bring people to God with the truth from the bible.
We may not get it right the first time and we may need more time to get it right. It takes time is my favorite. Everything takes time if you want it to or not. It is important to take the time of what god gives you so you can do it right. It is also fine if you fail if you fail that means that you were close to right and you need to keep trying till you get it right.
I think what Jesus is saying to us is that we will never be satisfied with what we have in our lives. That we will always want more than what we actually have. But we need to learn that that’s not what life is about, we have gotten so much in our lives and we don’t even realize it. We need to be happy with what we have and not keep wanting more.
We don’t have any second chances, this is the only one. Right here right now you have to be Holy be going to confession going to Sunday mass everything. We could die at any moment or Christ could make his second coming at any point in any day, we must be prepared for that to the fullest extent.
We should strive to be helpful and good to others so that we may make it into heaven because God wants us to love each other and be in harmony and peace with one another even if you don’t like someone and you say you hate someone they are still a child of God and made in Gods image and to say we hate God even though all he does is give us love means we shouldn’t be with him for the rest of eternity.
He said, ‘Oh no, father Abraham, but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’ Then Abraham said, ‘If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded if someone should rise from the dead.'” We are like this sometimes we always want something to prove to us that God is real but that isn’t true faith we have to wholly believe that Jesus loves us and He will save us. We only get one chance to be up there with Him. Only one life to live before heaven.
There are no second chances when it comes to eternal life. The time we have here is a gift.
I think Jesus is trying to tell us to stand with him not matter what and he will be there for us.
our life had two parts. one on earth and one in the spiritual realm. if we are holy on earth, we holy in heaven. if we are evil to others, we are evily treated in hell. our actions all have effects. it’s the good ones that get us into heaven.
Something that stuck out to me today was that “This is why God gives us time, He likes to see things grow.” this stuck out to me because God knows i keep making mistakes and sinning but he doesn’t jut leave me behind he waits for me and goes on with me instead of without.
In today’s Gospel Jesus is telling us that when we receive bad things in our life or we have a bad or struggling life, when we die it will be better than living on earth. Abraham replied, ‘My child,
remember that you received what was good during your lifetime
while Lazarus likewise received what was bad;
but now he is comforted here, whereas you are tormented.
What Abraham was saying is that we can always rely on God to do good and comfort us in our life. We can’t just rely on ourselves.
God does not wish for us to go to hell, but he still lets us make our own decisions. Lazarus and the Rich man is an exemplary tale of this. he does wrong, and so Jesus must allow him to and let him go to hell. God asks us to do good and to try to follow his way.
The scripture is telling us to put all our trust in the Lord and have Him strengthen us because we never know when our time is going to come.
This scripture reflection told me that Mary is always going to be here for us and that we need to put all of are trust in the Lord.
Today Jesus is telling me there is only one shot at life. When we die that is when we either spend time with God for eternity or spend time with the devil forever. This is why God gives us time, He likes to see things grow. We may not get it right the first time
Jesus is telling us its okay to have bad days sometimes and its completely normal to have bad things happen in life, but most importantly that does not mean god wished for us to suffer or be sad.
Mary is the Sacred Mother of Christ. She will never fail us. She is always there for us and will never stop doing that.
This is saying that if we want to get to Heaven we must help the sick or homeless instead of just ignoring them.
God gives us free will but with free will we may make bad actions but God still wants us to get to heaven so we have to follow God and listen to Him even though we have free will.
Jesus tells us that there is no 2nd chance to life we need to be ready for God at any moment.
He is like a barren bush in the desert
that enjoys no change of season,
But stands in a lava waste,
a salt and empty earth.
I think Jesus is trying to tell us that he is strong and that we should have faith in him.
Jesus teaches us to spread the gospel so more people can get closer to God. As a steward we are called to spread the gospel.
“We may not get it right the first time and we may need more time to get it right.“ This stood out to me because we sometime fall and give up, but God when he fell while carrying the cross but he always got back up.
Today’s Gospel teaches me to live like today is your last day on earth. We never know when we will die and we have to live to the fullest. Make today count and follow Jesus’ footsteps.
God is teaching us to be saints and to spread the Gospel. We need to help others get to Heaven by spreading the Gospel.
God is telling us that we should trust in Him so we can get to Heaven. God gave all of us free will so we can decide our life and path. “MOREOVER, BETWEEN US AND YOU A GREAT CHASM IS ESTABLISHED TO PREVENT ANYONE FROM CROSSING WHO MIGHT WISH TO GO FROM OUR SIDE TO YOURS OR FROM YOUR SIDE TO OURS.” This struck me because God trusts us to be good.
Now if you are going to Confession when you do act like the rich which everyone does then you will also be saved. Are we helping out others, are we truly living out the faith, are we believing God is real? God will not stop loving us, ever. The Holy Spirit is so powerful that it pulls me to get closer to God.
Jesus teaches to treat others how we want to be treated. He also tells us to love all our neighbors even neighbors and enemies
Today in the scripture reflection the Lord was talking threw Abraham to the rich man how if your brothers do not repent with Mses and the profits then they won’t repent with someone comming back to life.
If we are poor in life, we will be fulfilled in heaven. If we are uncomfortable and in pain in life, we will be comfortable and without pain in heaven.
If we give up material possessions, and live a life pf poverty, and faithfulness in Christ, we will be fulfilled and happy forever under Gods wing.
We have the Word of God in the Bible, God’s breath, to teach us how to gain salvation (God’s will for us: He has one great desire, that you and I are with Him in heaven.
All God wants is for all of us to go to Heaven. The Bible teaches us how to go to Heaven and praying helps us gain salvation.
I learned in the scripture reflection that we must all be prepared for the end of time. If we want to get to Heaven we must have our priorities straight so we can reach Him at the end of our days.
Jesus is saying that there are no second chances when it comes to eternal life. He does help us and we all make mistakes. What Jesus is trying to say though is that when we make something so bad that just can’t be undone is something that he doesn’t give second chances for.
Jesus wants us to spread the god so we can get to heaven with him he wants us to be with him forever.
In the Gospel, there is a rich man and a poor man. The rich man wouldn’t let the poor man even eat the scraps that fell from his table. When the rich man and the poor man died, the rich man went to hell and the poor man went to heaven. In hell, the rich man begged Abraham to save him and to warn his family and friends about what would happen to them if they treated others and God the way they did. But Abraham told him that his family and friends had the prophets to show them how they should act. I think this Gospel is telling us that if we listen to what the prophets and Jesus taught us we will be saved.

“there are no second chances when it comes to eternal life.” There is no second chances to get into heaven. We never no when our last day is going to be. Every day when we wake up we need to have the intention of trying to be the best person we could possibly be.
We may not always get things right the first time. That’s okay! We are human, and it’s human to make mistakes. But Jesus never makes mistakes. That’s why we must listen to him. So follow Jesus! Listen to his commands!
God is always there for us, he does not wish us to go to hell. God will not stop loving us, ever. The Holy Spirit is so powerful that it pulls me to get closer to God. and that we need to put all of are trust in the Lord. God asks us to do good and to try to follow his way.
The scripture is telling us to put all of our trust in the Lord and have him strengthen us because we never know when our time is going to come.
The things on earth we have right now will not mean anything once we die. we need to focus on the Lord and work to make it to live eternally with him and not our objects
We don’t get second chances and also we will not be in pain in heaven
