Prayer Prompt before reading LK 11:14-23 Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray well, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father and God the Son are so that I may know who I am.

“WHOEVER IS NOT WITH ME IS AGAINST ME,AND WHOEVER DOES NOT GATHER WITH ME SCATTERS.” LK 11:14-23

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

The crowd assumes many things about Jesus’s powers and even asked for “a sign from heaven”. Jesus responds with a very clear answer, “If it is by the finger of God that I drive out demons, then the Kingdom of God has come upon you”. Jesus is God casting out demons. It is by the same finger of God through the power of the Holy Spirit that priests cast out demons today.

What point does Jesus make today? Love always wins. God is love and mercy. He is the most powerful through love, Christ the King of the Universe. This love and mercy bring peace and joy. God’s grace is bigger than any sin or any number of sins. He conquered Satan and sin on the cross.

How? He took on humanities sin and literally sweat blood in the Agony in the Garden. He took on close to 120 lashes by two Roman soldiers with flagrums that had lead balls and sheep bones losing a considerable amount of blood at the Scourging at the Pillar. He had thorns crushed into His skull, carried a heavy cross and fell many times due to the severe nature of the scourging, and had nails driven through His wrists and feet. He hung on the cross for 3 hours then gave up His Spirit.

His love and mercy for us are unmatched by anyone. Jesus always wins because He was unselfish. Most importantly, He did the Father’s will. He stayed obedient even unto death on a cross. We must fight every day to become other centered instead of self-centered. Jesus is the perfect model of total self-sacrifice. In very clear language, Jesus sets Himself apart from everyone including other religious leaders, “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters”.

There is no fence in Christianity to straddle. It is hard to be a follower of Christ. We have to be unselfish, suffer, and forgive. Most of all we need to rely on God and His grace instead of trying to always be right and believe we can do everything ourselves. Stop trying to tough it out. Let Jesus into your boat, swallow your pride and get rid of your ego.

The grace won through Jesus Christ’s love and willingness to die gives us new life. Jesus doesn’t leave us other options, we are either with Him or against Him. He forces us to make a choice. Choose wisely, your souls future depends on it. You can’t take any of your material possessions, trophies or money with you to heaven. Now is a great time to change.

Today’s challenge: Make a decision to ask God for His help realizing you need Him to help you change. Change is hard but possible with God’s grace. If you want peace, joy, a fulfilled heart, and eternal life filled with love, Jesus is the Way! The coolest thing about today’s Gospel is that God hid inside a human to defeat Satan. Satan believed that there is no way a human could defeat him!

Be a servant, become a saint!

Today’s Gospel talks about how Jesus was casting out the devil and how helpful he was for everyone. I find it weird how even when Jesus was heeling everyone out, doing what a true Messiah should and would do. No one believed he was the messiah (except for some). It just blows my mind every time they don’t believe he is the true Messiah Son Of God, even though he just made a man walk, see, hear, touch, even breathe again. Its insane.

I really like the last 2 lines of this Gospel because it really goes to show that you have to either be all for God or all against God. You can’t be in the middle by the time judgement day comes around because you won’t get to heaven very easily. You can’t be on the fence; Satan owns the fence.

I think today’s Gospel really showed me that if I want to follow God and have a good relationship with Him, I have to trust in Him and have faith in Him. Today’s Gospel said, “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.”
I think that means that if we do not believe in Jesus and don’t follow Him, we are saying that we don’t want to have anything to do with Jesus. If we don’t go to Mass every Sunday, or go to confession, or just pray to God, we are growing away from Him. Jesus has a plan for every single one of us. We just have to trust in Jesus and He will help us get to Heaven!

This is very meaningful because if you don’t have a relationship with God, you will scatter and be lost. But if you are close to Him and spread the faith you will live eternal life.

This is saying that there are people who will not listen to God no matter what religion they have; their only main difference from those who listen is their unwillingness to do things for others.

You can’t see God. Most people choose to not hear him. So then how do they believe. That is where faith is very important. You don’t know what your best friend is saying behind your back but you have faith and trust in her. Do not try and test Jesus because he does not need to be tested.

what I took away from this gospel is that we need to love our brothers and sisters in Christ like we love him. It says if Satan is divided against himself his kingdom cannot stand. in today’s day and age we will not stand if we are a known enemy. We need not have a divide and remember what we stand for, Jesus. when Satan divided against himself, his kingdom did not stand, so we also have to keep ourselves together, because the more we lose ourselves the more we lose those around us.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus is basically making known the sides which people can choose, either you can be with Jesus and follow him, or you won’t be with him which makes you against him. And because you’re against him you will not have a single place in the world for God is the one that condemns you and cares for you and loves you. The devil does not care, nor love, nor should he condemn you. For if he does, then you are on the wrong path. You can either be on the path to Jesus and Heaven or you can be on the path to the devil and suffer most greatly in the devils home instead of on Earth.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus drove out a demon from a mute man and the man was able to speak again. We are the man, we have demons that try to hurt our relationship with God. We become mute with God because of those demons. Jesus said “When a strong man fully armed guards his palace, his possessions are safe. But when one is stronger than he attacks and overcomes him, he takes away the armor on which he relied and distributes the spoils. Whoever is not with me is against me,
and whoever does not gather with me scatters.” We are the strong man when we are against Him, but God is stronger and will overcome our sin.

Jesus is telling the crowd that if they can’t see God’s hand in this miracle, they are missing the fact that the Kingdom of Heaven is standing right in front of them. This passage is telling us Jesus is the one who has come to dismantle the kingdom of Satan and establish the Kingdom of God on earth. He is trying to save us from the fire of hell. When a strong man fully armed guards his palace,
his possessions are safe. This refers to Satan his palace as humanity and his possessions as us. Satan tries to temp us everyday and bring us into his palace to try and trap us, but the stronger one (Jesus) Comes to save us from that and beat Satan and takes away the armor he had on that trapped us.

In today’s scripture, it really stuck out to me when it says that loves is always going to win and that God is pure love and mercy in us and in everyone else. He is the most powerful through love, Christ the King of the Universe. This love and mercy bring peace and joy. God’s grace is bigger than any sin or any number of sins. He conquered Satan and sin on the cross. This line really hit me in heart because Jesus loves you so much, that ended up dying on a cross for you, he seated blood for you, and he was crucified to save you from evil and save you from your sin. He had a crown of thrones that went through his scalp all they into his skull, they jammed nails into his wrist and feet, he feel many times and he hung on a cross for 3 hours, yet he did not give up because he loved you before you were created into his image and likeness, he loved you like your parents when you were sewed into your Mother’s womb. Jesus always wins because He was unselfish. Most importantly, He did the Father’s will. He stayed obedient even unto death on a cross. We must fight every day to become other centered instead of self-centered. Jesus is the perfect model of total self-sacrifice. He will catch you anytime that you fall into sin and he will save your soul and the souls of others. Let Jesus be in your boat when you are suffering from anything, The grace won through Jesus Christ’s love and willingness to die gives us new life. I think the phrase ¨Love always wins. God is love and mercy. He is the most powerful through love, Christ the King of the Universe.¨Is important because the easiest way to get close to God is through love. And to love God is to recognize all he has done for us and all he have given to us, he gave us his own son out of love and the least we can do is love him back, especially through hard times

“Love always wins” This stood out to me because love will always be stronger than hate. When you say hateful things to innocent people with different beliefs, you are no different than the people who taunted and cursed at Jesus even when they knew he was innocent. Yet, Jesus continued to love the people who had different beliefs. So, why should we be hateful to people with different beliefs, when our whole goal is to imitate Jesus?

Jesus says, “Whoever is not with me is against me”. In middle school, it’s easy to try and stay in the middle or just “go with the flow.” This scripture reminds us that we have to make a choice. We are either helping Jesus “gather” people by being kind and doing the right thing, or we are “scattering” them by being negative or hurtful.

Jesus argues that it would be illogical for Satan to fight against himself, as a divided kingdom cannot survive. He suggests that his ability to drive out demons is actually proof that the power of God has arrived to overcome evil. By comparing himself to a “stronger man,” he shows that he is disarming the “strong man” (Satan) to reclaim what was held captive. Ultimately, he presents a clear choice: there is no middle ground, and one must either stand with him or be against him.

Even after witnessing a profound miracle a mute man speaking to some observers remained closed hearted. Rather than recognizing the finger of God, they attributed the healing to Beelzebub. This serves as a warning: if our hearts are hardened by cynicism or preconceived notions, we can stand directly in front of a miracle and only see a threat.

“Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste and the house will fall against the house. And if Satan is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand?” This means that if we are divided from God, we will fall into hell. We need to be one with God and follow his will. Jesus not dying before being crucified is a miracle itself. He had to suffer through so much pain that most people wouldn’t even feel in their lifetime. He is the opposite of selfish. He died for our sins knowing people would keep sinning yet he still did it. We didn’t deserve such a kind savior but we desperately needed him. He could’ve easily left us to suffer because we are sinners but he didn’t because of how much God loves us.

But if you put that money in a savings account then you will have money for the future. So I say if you do not think of the future you stay in the past but if you think of the future God will hold your hand the whole way.

On today’s Gospel, I believe God is trying to tell me there can’t be division between us. If we are divided in our friend groups or family we will never figure things out. We have to stop being divided and everyone should come together and be kind and loving. We should invite those who are not always invited, and talk to people we don’t usually talk to. We should inclusive and make sure that there is no division between us.

What i think the lord is trying to tell me today is that love always wins even when we are stugging he will help us even though sometime we don´t think he really is and deep down we know it.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus drives a demon out of a mute man, and he spoke after. The people watching said that Jesus was given the power to drive out demons by the Devil. In return Jesus said, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste and house will fall against house. And if Satan is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that it is by Beelzebul that I drive out demons. If I, then, drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your own people drive them out? Therefore they will be your judges.” I think that this is an important Gospel because it shows that Jesus knows our thoughts. He knows how much we trust in him, or not. It is important to always trust in God.

the Lord is trying to tell us that we have to sacrifice things to fix ourselves. we cant sacrifice things for God to fix.
“We have to be unselfish, suffer, and forgive. Most of all we need to rely on God and His grace instead of trying to always be right and believe we can do everything ourselves”

I think what the scripture is trying to tell me is that we need to have less fear because God is always there and he is always ready to save us no matter what were going through whether its sin or an addiction. I think I need to do this especially with confession.

Somhting that stuck with me whne i read this is that Love conquers all. Who wants to be in a wordl with terror, fear, doom, destruction, and fear. Love is peace, harmony, and also joy. instead of mamking enemies make freinds who will treat you with love and do the same for them.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus drives out a demon and the crowd, in awe, says that he might be driving it out because of the prince of demons. But Jesus says in reply that it is by the finger of God that he does this.

God is powerful. We should put him above all things and be with him. We should always be nice to others and behave and try not to sin so we can be with him in Heaven. We should always make our religion our priority.

“Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters “. This Line right here is a key example of the life we are living in now. Most people have scattered because they don’t want to be made fun of, or they think its just something that you can save for later. As Catholics we should stand proud of our religion and share to others that Jesus is King.

Love unites people and the best part is that it never withers away. We must love each other and stop hating. Hate is a terrible curse that eats us alive and makes us blind to others, turning them away. Love is the cure to hate. If we love others, we unite them and both you and them will be filled with immense joy. That is what marriage is about. Loving each other no matter the circumstance. Hate will only get you so far. Love will bring you through the end times. Always love others and especially your Heavenly Father.

In today’s gospel today Jesus tells us anything divided against itself cannot stand. This includes humanity; we must try to unite with our fellow Christians (Ecumenism) and bring God’s word to those who have not known him (Evangelization). If this were to happen today it would be a great and wonderful thing.

“WHOEVER IS NOT WITH ME IS AGAINST ME,AND WHOEVER DOES NOT GATHER WITH ME SCATTERS.” What I got out of this verse is that the lord wants his people to be one together with him and the ones that dont follow him to scatter and not try to tempt the holy ones.

“Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.” This does not directly mean that you will physically scatter or physically gather, but it means that you will be united with God in death of you will be cast away from Him into hell.

“Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.” This I feel is very important because today Jesus literally drives out demons and makes a mute talk. Yet everyone still doubts him these people are not with him and have scattered for they know not of God’s power. You should never doubt God/Jesus because he is true he is right.

What stuck out most to me in this gospel is how no one trusts Jesus. They asked for a sign from heaven to test Him. We shouldnt do this, we should doubt Jesus. We know Jesus is God’s son so we should treat him like it.

“Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters” Jesus says this after proving he wasn’t driving out demons in the name of “the prince of demons” Beelzebub. he also says that the kingdom of God is upon them, if it is upon them before Jesus gave up his life then it is even more upon us today.

Jesus is saying that we can not have a divided house. the people surrounding him thought that he was demonic for driving out demons. but really he was driving by demons by his own power.

what i got from todays gospel was that no matter how many good miracles jesus did in his life that showed he truly was the Son of God people turned away and didnt believe saying he was a demon from hell. They asked for a sign but Jesus always knows our hearts and he said “Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste
and house will fall against house.
And if Satan is divided against himself,
    how will his kingdom stand?
For you say that it is by Beelzebul that I drive out demons.
If I, then, drive out demons by Beelzebul,
by whom do your own people drive them out?
Therefore they will be your judges.
But if it is by the finger of God that I drive out demons,
then the Kingdom of God has come upon you.
When a strong man fully armed guards his palace,
    his possessions are safe.
But when one stronger than he attacks and overcomes him,
he takes away the armor on which he relied
    and distributes the spoils.
Whoever is not with me is against me,
and whoever does not gather with me scatters.”
this shows who Jesus truly is that he is the Son of God

“you are either with me or against me” are the words of Jesus in this gospel. We can’t be Catholic and not agree with the teachings we don’t like. This is what protestants sometimes ignore or twist to make it sound like they’re right in their views. Everything Jesus says is true. He is the way, the TRUTH, and the life.
