“WHEN JESUS FINISHED THESE WORDS, THE CROWDS WERE ASTONISHED AT HIS TEACHING.” MT 7:21-29

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

Jesus finishes His great Sermon on the Mount that began with the beatitudes, then outlined the characteristics of a disciple and how to live a Christian moral life, and now ends with listen and act.  Once we read and understand the Word of God, we must be doers.  Jesus speaks with authority because He does not take something already taught and pass it down, He teaches something new, the Father’s Will.

God has given us everything we need to build our lives on this foundation He lays before us and become rocks in this “valley of tears”.  If we listen to the Word, but do not act on it, we will collapse, which has its own consequences.  Allow the Holy Spirit to fill your heart and set it on fire, understand the Scriptures, and move us to renew the face of the earth.

It takes training, fasting, prayer (lots of prayer), trust, love (lots of love), mercy (every day mercy), facing our fears, coming to Jesus when we are lost and broken, learning from our mistakes, and most importantly making a decision to believe that Jesus is who He says He is and being 100% totally faithful to Him.  This is what He did for you, don’t miss out on the opportunity He gives you to be with Him forever where your hearts greatest longing is fulfilled.

Today’s challenge: Revisit Matthew chapters 5,6,7 often, especially when you find your life a train wreck.  Make a decision to believe in the God Man, Jesus. Stay faithful to reading the Scriptures daily, reflecting on them, and asking yourself “How can I apply this to my life?” or “What is Jesus trying to teach me today?”

Be a servant, be a saint today!
