FROM NOW ON YOU WILL BE CATCHING MEN.” LK 5:1-11
Humbly submit your will to God (thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
“While the crowd was pressing in on Jesus and listening to the word of God,
he was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret.
He saw two boats there alongside the lake;
the fishermen had disembarked and were washing their nets. Getting into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, he asked him to put out a short distance from the shore. Then he sat down and taught the crowds from the boat. After he had finished speaking, he said to Simon,
“Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch.”
Simon said in reply,
“Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets.”
When they had done this, they caught a great number of fish
and their nets were tearing.
They signaled to their partners in the other boat
to come to help them.
They came and filled both boats
so that the boats were in danger of sinking.
When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at the knees of Jesus and said, “Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man.”
For astonishment at the catch of fish they had made seized him and all those with him,
and likewise James and John, the sons of Zebedee,
who were partners of Simon.
Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid;
from now on you will be catching men.”
When they brought their boats to the shore,
they left everything and followed him.” Lk 5:1-11
Today, Jesus calls his disciples to follow Him. This will require change in their lives. Peter was married. They had a full time job as fisherman and the others had other trades. Today, in this Scripture passage, Jesus is calling you to follow Him. If you have any thoughts of becoming a priest or religious brother or sister, start praying daily asking God if this is your vocation. Ask Him if you are to be married and start praying for your future spouse.
We are all called to be followers of Jesus, disciples. You have a choice to make; God’s grace is waiting to be given to you everyday. He is chasing after you to bring you back to Him. How will you respond?
Today, Jesus may be asking you to give some things up to follow Him, but they are nothing compared to the joy and peace you will receive by giving your heart to Jesus. There will be sorrow and sacrifice, too. Just ask Mary, His mother. Love requires sacrifice and unselfishness. It requires swallowing one’s pride. Jesus does not care where you are at in your spiritual life, today He is calling you to follow Him. “Be not afraid!”
Today’s challenge: Don’t worry about how much of a sinner you are, allow Jesus into your heart. He will slowly transform you. Scary, you bet! Worth it, more than we will ever be able to imagine. It is one awesome ride! ”Be not afraid!”
Be a servant, become a saint!

“Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets.” Peter is a great example of what we need to do, Be faithful, patient, and trusting. it may take weeks or years but he will speak to us and tell us what he wants us to do, we just need to be patient.
“Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets.” This stuck out to me because some people do give up on trying to hear from God and then die never getting a call from him but if you never give up on him and keep trying no matter what, you will end up hearing from him and getting a call so you can live the rest of your life with God. So no matter if you hear from God or not, never stop praying.
“Be not afraid.” This enigmatic phrase is repeated 365 times in the Bible. One for every day of the year. Sometimes God tells us to do something that makes absolutely no sense. We just need to trust Him, even if that means blind faith! Be not afraid. When God reaches out to you, Be not Afraid!
“Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch.”
Simon said in reply,
“Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets.” Hes says this so we need to believe in him because he will always be right and he will be there for us. When they believed they got tons of fish and all they did was listen to Jesus.
Jesus is calling us all to follow him. He has a plan for each one of us we can go to him in pray asking for his guidance. He is calling each one of us to follow his plan and stay tuned in our faith.
I think Jesus is trying to tell us he is always there for us and we are never alone. The reading says
““Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets.” When they had done this, they caught a great number of fish”
Jesus then tells them not to be afraid and from now on they will be catching men. I think Jesus did this to show them that even though they hadn’t caught many fish with God nothing is impossible and that he will be there to help them.
“Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men.” This phrase stuck out to me because Jesus is making Simon Peter a disciple at that moment. He is also calling us to be disciples and “fishers of men”. He is telling us that we should come and be a disciple and learn what we are meant to do in this world.
Jesus is calling for us to listen to him to find ourselves, our hope, and him. Jesus tells the fishermen to cast their nets in deep water, the tell him they have been trying all night, but they put the nets in the water. They caught a lot of fish. I think this represents that even when it seems like all hope is lost, just pray, ask Jesus for a miracle and he can do it.
Today we see Jesus teaching to such a large crowd that he had to go out to sea to teach to them all. Afterwards he told Simon to lower his nets, but he tells him we haven’t caught anything all day but he does it anyway and the nets are so filled that they start to break. Simon says “depart from me, Lord, I am a sinful man.” but Jesus says to him do not be afraid because from now on you will be catching men. All Simon had to do was open his eyes and realize that our savior is right in front of him.
“Do not be afraid from now on you will be catching men.” It really stood out to me because I think it means that they will be calling in everyone to be disciples and follow Jesus. Jesus is calling you to follow Him and to be his disciple. Jesus might call you in different ways and it is our job to recognize these signs and to follow Him. There is evidence that He is real and things that are impossible are now possible through God.
Jesus calls us to be fishers of men. We can do this by evangelizing. He wants us to “catch” people, or convert them to Christianity or, even better, Catholicism. He wants us to convince them that He is real, and He is God.
Today’s gospel says to me that we must trust God and not be afraid. Today Simon was out fishing but they have not caught anything yet. then Jesus tells them to lower his net one more time but Simon kinda hesitates for a second then he lowers the nets. after this they fill both boats from the fish they caught. This tells me that we should always trust God because he knows what is going to happen and he can do anything for us because he loves us.
When the fishermen failed to catch fish, it was Jesus who helped them. Jesus is our Lord and Savior. “For God so loved the world he gave his only Son.” Jesus saved us from our sins, and he saved the fishermen. He is our Savior, and would do anything for us
What stuck out to me is when Jesus said: “Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch.” And St. Peter replied saying they caught nothing that night but he listened to Jesus. What I think the Gospel is saying is if we listen to the Word and Follow God, Many great things will happen.
This is one of my favorite readings this is one of the ones I will always remember and we can be fishers of men we can spread our faith and try to draw more people closer to God he can do miricals for you and you just have to ask, ask and you shall receive.
Jesus is calling us to follow Him. He wants us to follow Him no matter how many times we have sinned. He is calling us today.
When Jesus said “Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch.”
and Simon said in reply,
“Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets.”
When they had done this, they caught a great number of fish
and their nets were tearing. I think that means that we have to have faith, even though it sometimes takes faith. Simon had been trying to catch fish all night, but when Jesus said to do it, they did it and got lots of fish.
When Jesus said, “Do not be afraid, from now on, you will be catching men,” this stuck out to me and to me it meant that Jesus really wants us to serve him.
By doing this, we will be closer to Christ and will get into Heaven with our lord and savior Jesus Christ.
“Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets.” Simon is a great example for the mindset that we should have, faith, loyalty, and trust. We need to listen to God when he speaks to us and never doubt him.
The part that really stuck out to me is when Jesus told Simon and Peter to lower the nets they did and caught a bunch of fish. This reminds me when we listen and follow God he will help us in return but we will have nothing if we follow Satin.
“Be not afraid”, is said 365 times in the bible so it is for every day of the year. This stuck out to me because he is saying don’t be afraid of following him even if there is something in the way. “Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets.” This said to me even if it is hard and doesn’t make sense we need to listen to him.
Some stuff that I payed attention to was how much faith that Simon Peter had for it said “Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets, and he had so much fish that the nets were about to break and after he said that he started to bow down to Jesus and the Jesus said ” you will now be fishers of men”.
Jesus wants us to trust and believe in him, like when the fishermen put out their nets one more time and they got so many fish.So that tells me that we should always trust Jesus and he will always love us even if we sin.
When Jesus told Simon to lower his net it stuck out to me because when he lowered his net he caught more fish. I think that when Simon lowered the net and caught more fish it’s like if we go in a deeper relationship with God we can become more holy. And when Jesus said “Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men“ I think what Jesus means is he wants us to try to bring others to be more holy.
Jesus is calling us to follow him. He is telling us that even though we are sinners we can still let Him transform our lives. We should also submit ourselves to Jesus’ plan because He knows what’s best for us. This may require change or sacrifice in our lives, but it is worth it in the end.
I think Jesus is telling us to come and follow him in scripture and in our daily life.
Jesus could be telling us that he is always with us. the scripture says”master we have worked all night we have caught nothing ” then Jesus came and they caught lots of fish. that tells us that he is here for us.
Jesus wants us to follow him no matter how much of a sinner we are. He wants us to trust him and when we do our life will change! We need to always follow and believe in God.
The Lord told them to cast down their nets, even though they hadn’t caught anything the whole night they did what was told. If we listen to Jesus we will be the nets breaking at the seams. Jesus can make anything possible and many great things can happen.
What God is saying “do not be afraid”. God filled two boats full with fish after they couldn’t catch anything the whole night. Why be afraid when we have a God who can do that and also love us more than anything. God does amazing things for us we need to have faith in him like the fishers did.
Jesus is trying to tell us that even if we don’t love him he will always love us or if we have sinned over and over again ,he will always loves us. In the daily scripture it said“Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man.”,but Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid;
from now on you will be catching men.”
To me this means that we have to trust. It means that to me because the disciples were telling Jesus they couldn’t catch anything and when he said go out there into the ocean again and they were like we were out there all day why should we go out there again if we haven’t caught anything. When they finally went and they came back they had all the fish Jesus was like do not be afraid and that tells me like he is telling us to always trust in him.
Today Jesus is calling us to follow him. He is telling us to follow him no matter what. He is telling su to pray for him so we have guidance.
I think Jesus is telling us to always trust him. He told Simon to cast out his net. Simon did not know why because he has not caught anything all day. Simon did what Jesus told him to do and since he listened Jesus gave him fish to the point the nets were ripping. We can use Simon as an example in this story to follow Christ.
When Jesus had told Simon to lower their nets and catch fish, Simon said back, “Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets.” It means that we must always listen to the will of God even though we might not agree or like what he says.
Something that stuck out to me was “Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men”. I think that Jesus was telling them that they will be telling Jesus’ word and bringing people into Christianity.
I think Jesus is telling us to do for something that will only work once but if you teach someone something will work life.
we must follow jesus for we are not perfect but he is
I think that Jesus is telling us that to not be afraid but to worship him and that he will always be by our side and to never dought him
I think Jesus is telling us to trust him, follow him, and pray for him so we have guidance.
Don’t be afraid and from now on you will be catching men. I had to stop and reread it to understand what it meant. It is a strong sentence that will be with me today and more.
Do not be afraid if you be afraid you will not get God’s glory and if your afraid you will be blessed and you will go to heaven.By doing this you will be more holy.
Something that stuck out to me was when Jesus said “Do not be afraid;
from now on you will be catching men.” I Jesus was saying don’t be afraid of Him and that they can trust him and follow him.
Jesus is telling us to follow him and not look back. Jesus loves us all even if we are sinners his love for us is unlimited.
I think that Jesus is telling us that even if he asks something that seems crazy, silly, or ridiculous, he wants us to listen. When Jesus told Peter to throw the net over the boat, Peter thought it was crazy. But he did it anyway, and things turned out great. So even if Jesus asks something of you that sounds like it’s impossible, trust him, and everything will turn out okay.
What stood out to me was “Master we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your commands we will lower the nets.”
This stood out to me because it shows the faith that Peter had in Jesus. Even though he thought they were going to catch nothing, This has taught me that even the hardest of times, God is always there.
Something that stood out to me is that peter said Jesus we have caught nothing but at your command I will lower the net. It stood out to me because even though he had no hope he trusted God with his whole heart. This also teaches that if you are ever in doubt look to God and ask him for help. No matter what happens it happens for a reason and that’s what I think the passage was trying to tell us.
From now on you will be caching men which means that he will be saving people and bring them to worship god.
Jesus is telling us that we have to trust him blindly and he will do good in our lives. He also said that we will be fishers of men. So we have to tell others about Christ and pull them towards the church like a fisherman would pull fish into his boat.
“Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets.” This verse stuck out to me today as I read the passage. Despite his doubt, Simon Peter still chose to listen to Jesus’ command. He trusted in Him. Jesus alone knows what’s best for us. He is all knowing and all powerful and in times of doubt we need to trust in Him because His love will always prevail and everything will turn out okay when you’re by His side.
I think Jesus was telling them to trust him and beleive in him as we should always trust and beleive in him for he is all knowing and he can’t be wrong as we know. We need to trust Jesus so much more because he is everything.
Jesus is saying that we are called to be followers or disciples. You have a choice to make Gods grace is waiting to be given to you everyday. He is chasing after you to bring you back to him.
when Jesus says do not be afraid to peter he is saying do not be afraid to follow me, trust me. It may be scary to do the right thing and follow his path but you just have trust in him and have faith in him.
the fish are the people. Nobody comes but once the lord starts speaking and filling us with love and knowledge we overflow the boat. More and more of us coming into the faith of the Lord. Like what Papa G said in the cat in the hat “Be not afraid.”
It is worth it to follow and listen to Jesus. If we trust in him he will provide for us and take care of us. Jesus loves us with his whole heart so it doesn’t matter if we are a sinner. We should pray to him about our lives and put our trust in him.
Jesus is telling us “Do not be afraid” because whatever troubles, pain, or suffering we’re going through, He will help us get through it.
I think God is trying to communicate with us that he wants us to have trust in him, and that we know that he will always forgive us and always be by our side no matter what. He knows what we will do in life and he knows how where going to end up, I think he just wants us to trust in his decision and love for us.
This passage shows us that no matter what we do, what sin we commit, God will be by our side. He will always be there, like a parent when their child is riding a bike, pushing us along the right path. We could never earn this love, but the least we could do is to pay attention to the signs.
“Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets.” We may have worked hard and feel like it did nothing. We may think about giving up, but we should always remember that God has a plan. God knows what is going to happen and he knows why. We should always put trust in our Lord for he knows everything. It can be easy to get mad at God when things don’t go how we want it to, but God knows everything will become right.
In this Scripture Jesus is not only calling Simon Peter to be a Christ Follower but us. He tells us to be a missionary by bringing (fishing) men that are not in the faith and ‘reel’ them towards God.
I think Jesus has a way of communicating with us that is not just talking to us but giving us directions and when they went out to the water even though they have not caught anything all day, but still listened to Jesus is how we should when Jesus is communicating with us even though times could be tough but all we need to do is look for Jesus and He will come through for us.
“Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man.”
How many people do you know who would willingly admit to doing wrong things. Not very many most likely. So this shows that Simon Peter was truly astonished and was thinking that there is no way Jesus could be friends with me for I am a sinful man, But do you know what Jesus said? He said,¨Do not be afraid: from now on you will be fishers of men.¨
This is a very powerful message. It shows that Jesus cares for us and is willing to give us a second chance. He died on the cross for our sins. Think of how painful that would be. He was okay with it. He was dying for us but also for all of the people that were mocking him and spitting on him. As far as I know most of us would not be any where near able to do anything like that. Jesus has been willing to forgive is again and again and let us continue to follow him.
today Jesus tell’s us to follow Him. To “Be Not Afraid”. What has that to do with us? He tells us not to worry not be afraid. He is supposed to give us a sense of security but how do we get to that? We do that by doing what Peter did and fall on our knees and pray. Pray for our worry, anxiety, and all the other things to go away but most importantly we pray for the sense of security.
What I think Jesus is telling me is that I shouldn’t be afraid. He has a plan for me and it will take sacrifices but it will all be worth it in the end cause I’ll have peace and joy.
“When they brought their boats to the shore, they left everything and followed him”. Jesus told them to lower their nets because He knew that there would be fish for them, they knew that He is the Messiah so they listened to him . When they caught all the fish they were so astonished by all the fish that they didn’t even deal with the fish when they got to shore. They left EVERYTHING and followed him! They could have been selfish and taken the fish, leaving Jesus, but instead they decided to follow Him because they believed in Him. Simon Peter went straight to Jesus and knelt in front of Him saying, “Depart from me lord, for I am a sinful man.” Simon Peter realized that he was not worthy for what Jesus had just given him.
“Be not afraid” Those specific words are repeated so many times in the Bible but they mean so much. Jesus reaches out to us so many times in life and every time he is right and we still sometimes don’t listen to him and for what? In the scripture Simon is getting not fish, then Jesus tells them to fish again and this time the nets come up with tons of fish and that all happend just by listening to Jesus.
Jesus knows everything about us. We need to trust in him because He only knows whats best for us. He knows when its time to not and to do things. so we need to always trust in him and put our hearts into him.
Today’s Gospel has two meanings.1 that even when you doubt it you should always do what the lord is telling you like when peter was going to quit Jesus said to do it and he did and he caught so much fish the nets were tearing. 2 that you are never too sinful for God. you are never not good enough for God, even when we think God doesn’t love us anymore. God always loves us because if he didn’t we wouldn’t exist. We are all loved by God and we should never under any circumstances fear that we aren’t because God doesn’t care about what you have done, He just wants us to be with him
I think that this phrase has a way of saying that its our job as Christians to pull others toward God. That´s exactly what Jesus and the disciples did. Jesus performed miracles, preached the Gospel, and did many powerful things to turn people to God. Then the Apostles eventually followed in his footsteps.
Be not afraid. Trust in me. God told the apostles to cast the net back in the water. But they said to him Master we have been trying all day and we have not caught anything. God says trust me. So the aposltles do and they catch so many fish that the boats were in danger of sinking.
God wants us to trust him. God wants us to put our faith in him. He will not fail.
Be not afraid. Dont be afraid to go all in for God. Dont feel embarassed to love God
Trust in him. Put your faith in God and he will help you. Be not afraid is in the Bible 365 times. One for every day.
I think he’s trying to tell us to not be afraid to follow him.
From Peter’s point of view Jesus sounded like a crazy optimistic man, Peter decided to listen to him and then he caught 2 boats worth of fish. If we all just listen to Jesus and follow in his footsteps we will get a lot more than some fish, we will get eternal life.
BE NOT AFRAID. This repeats 365 times in the bible for, well, all the days of the year. I think that Jesus wants us to be not afraid. Even if that means that we do not know what he wants us to do until later or if he wants us to do something crazy. So whenever something like this happens to us then, be not afraid.
In today´s scripture I learned that we need to be like peter and realize what God has given us. He is our creator and savior and that when he calls us we must be ready to drop everything and follow.
“Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets.”
When they had done this, they caught a great number of fish
and their nets were tearing.
They listened to their master and they did what they were told, when they went back out they lowered their nets and they had so many there nets started to tear, our love for God is so much that if we were the fish it would have torn into pieces
Jesus says to trust him, and he will give us all good things in time. but some of us are not satisfied and decide that they can give themselves everything they need. they go to Satan instead of Jesus and they become empty, void of what they could be.
Jesus says be not afraid in this scripture, and although its repeated so many times throughout the bible, it cant be repeated enough for us to understand how much God cares for us. Many things happen in life that may make us turn to God and ask him why we have to go through such things. But, as he says, we should not be afraid, for aslong as we stay in our faith and do not turn away from God, we will have eternal life in heaven.
“Do not be afraid;
from now on you will be catching men.”
This phrase has been told to us so many times I think that we forget what it truly means. When Jesus said this He was telling us that we need to bring people into the Faith. When we bring more people to the faith more people will then turn to Jesus. And that is a good thing.
When we become “Fishers of Men” we will know because people will turn to God because of us. Listen for God is still a quiet voice. We need to accept His call.
I think Jesus is trying to tell us that we are all called to be fishers of men but in different ways. We are called different that Peter, but that does not mean we cant be as good/holy as Peter. Jesus shows us and teaches us exactly hoe to get back to him. We need to be fishers of men and teach others about those things to get to heaven to grow the kingdom of our Lord.
“Then he sat down and taught the crowds from the boat. After he had finished speaking, he said to Simon,“Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch.”Simon said in reply,“Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets.”When they had done this, they caught a great number of fish” This tells us that we must always do what God and Jesus say because it will always end in a good way and never in bad. We must also learn to trust God and all that he does.
“Be not afraid” is something that stuck out to me because it’s saying that we need to trust God and listen to him. Just like the fishermen did and then they got fish after trying to get it all day. And that God knows when everything will happen and when it should happen.
Jesus tells Simon, “Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch.” Simon said in reply, “Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets.” when Jesus askes something of us should we obey even if it doesn’t seem posible, yes. when simon obeyed and tossed his net another time he got so many fish his net started to tear. when we obey Jesus, we get the knowledge of knowing we listened to God himself. when we do what is nececary it helps everyone. when we follow Him and His teachings we know that we can get to Heaven and be with our savior Jesus Christ.
Jesus is calling us to follow him. He has a plan for all of us and we shouldn’t be afraid. He wants us to be happy and live internally with him in heaven but we have to trust in him because he has a plan. Nobody said it was going to be easy but Heaven is all worth it.
be not afraid. we need to start living for God and loving like he would and change for him how peter did and listen to his calls so we can live out gods calling. we need to start to be more mindfull of jesus love for everyone and be more kind like he would
We all know what fear is. We all have probably felt it at some point too. Today Jesus tells us a significant
thing, ‘Be not Afraid’. It sounds hard and it is, but another major factor in not being afraid is trusting that Jesus will take care of you. Trust needs to be built upon something also. Building a relationship with God is the best way to know and trust Him.
he said to Simon,“Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch.”
Simon said in reply,“Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets.” It takes a long time to trust someone and when Jesus showed up he preached and then told them to go back to where they already where to catch fish is crazy. Then something must have gone through their mind maybe it was the Holy Spirit making them have a feeling that they should do it or maybe God whispered in their ears. They must have been tired all day but they went and then Jesus said lower your nets like what is going through His mind but they lowered their nets ANYWAY! It takes a long time to trust people but they trusted Jesus right off the bat and that is what we should do for Him.
Most of the time it is hard to trust in God. It’s hard to trust in something that you cant physically feel. You cant feel the hands that are going to catch you and help you up again. God is even better then that. Not only will God help you up. He will heal you from the inside out. He will loves all of us no matter what. No matter how many times we turn our back. He is right there waiting for us. Each and everyone of us. He loves us all.
Do not be afraid is one of the best lines in the bible it is said 365 times once every day of the year and every day i think that every person on earth needs to hear that because everyone is a little afraid that there going to mess up or do something stupid each day but Jesus says not to be afraid because even if we mess up he still loves us with all his heart.
I think Jesus was telling them to trust him. Believe in him as we should always trust him. Believe in him for he is all knowing and he can’t be wrong as we know. We need to trust Jesus so much more because he is everything.
Jesus is trying to tell us to trust in him like the fisherman did when they went back to go fishing again. I think that Jesus is also telling us to trust in him and that he will always love us
jesus is telling me to go pray
Jesus calls us to be Fisher of men. I think he means that we are meant to catch people and rule them into the catholic faith. The scripture also helps us to understand that we should always trust God. Trust in God, put faith in him, and believe in him.
“Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets” this stuck out to me because we should always trust in god what he wants us to do and say.
Jesus is telling us to not be afraid he wants us to believe in him no matter what he does because he knows what is going to happen in the end so we have to give our hearts to him and trust in him to guide us in life because he knows what is best for us so we need to let him lead us in life.
To me this says that no matter what you think Jesus will always help you.
I think Jesus is trying to tell us to follow him and to never doubt him because he guides us through everything.
Today the thing was that Jesus told people to go out to be fisherman and there will be a lot of fish and they will catch a lot but they just went out there and they caught nothing but they went back out there and they could barely even pole the net up.Then they started following him and they become his apostles.
I think God is telling us to be a follower of him. Also, you would be saving other peoples souls from the devil and keeping them from any harm or bad decisions. Also, to lead other people to Jesus bye encouraging them not to make the decisions they are trying to make right now.
“Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men.” He means you will now be preaching the word of god and collecting followers and guiding others to the way of god and Jesus Christ.
I think that Jesus is telling us that we should trust him.“Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets.” After that they caught a lot of fish and the net was tearing.
“Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man.” sticks out to me a lot because a lot of us need this now. i can change the way i am seeing things by seeing it through the lord.
I think Jesus is saying to put our trust in him at all times. I think Jesus is trying to tell us to pray.
Jesus is telling us to spread his word and bring more people in the world to be Christians, just like the Apostles spread God’s word to large crowds. People loved hearing about God, and they told people about him, and so on and so on. Now there are blillions of Christians!
to follow the lord no matter the situation always listen to him respect him embrace him and always stay true to your faith and let no one decive you. Let the lord lead you to heaven today.
Jesus is telling us to follow him and hes also saying do not be afraid.
This scripture shows us to belive in Jesus for he has done so many great things. The words “do not be afraid” is said so many times in the Bible. its so important for us to beleive these words because even if we dont notice Jesus is there to help us just like he did with the fishermen.
He is telling us to not be afraid of catching men. Also it is urging us to go to confession.
The thing that most caught my attention was when simon and peter were fishing and they didn´t catch anything so they came back to shore and jesus was there he told them to go back to cast one more time but simon peter said there are no fish in the water but jesus still said go back so they did the very next cast they caught alot of fish so peter got down on the ground and started praising him by saying you are the king and the Holy one.
It stuck out to me when they caught fish because of jesus and they caught fish. because it shows when we trust god good things happen.
God is trying to call me like he called the fishermen to follow him and to always love him and preach about the Gospel.
I heard in the first line of the scripture that everyone was pressing against Jesus but Jesus saw that there were boats and he saw that they were getting discouraged. So he went over to them just like we should help someone who is in need! So Jesus went to them to tell them to cast out their nets one more time to try to capture some more fish. But Simon says we have not caught anything so he is doubting Jesus just like we doubt Jesus sometimes. So Simon is doubtful but he does it anyway. So even when we are doubtful we should listen to God! When they listen to Jesus good things will happen to them.
Jesus wants us to spread his word around the world. He also wants us to act like him.
I feel that God is calling me to follow him through prayer.
God is trying to tell us to trust and believe in him no matter what
I think Jesus wants us to follow him no matter what. He also has a path for all of us to get to heaven and if we fall off that path we might not get to heaven.
Jesus is telling us not to dought him because he will always be with me and you.
I think Jesus was trying to tell them to trust them. And that we should always trust God and belive in him. And he will alwyas love us and no matter what he will forgive us.
