“THEY WERE CUT TO THE HEART.” ACTS 2: 36-41
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
“Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”-St. Peter
Jesus breathed the same Holy Spirit on Peter and the Apostles in that upper room on Pentecost as He breathed on you and me at our baptism and confirmation. We are to do all things in the name of Jesus Christ, repent (change our lives), and allow the Holy Spirit to work in our lives. What does that mean? Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you, study the fruits and gifts of the Spirit that you have been given at Baptism, look at what gaping holes you have in your life, and ask the Holy Spirit to help you in those areas as part of your daily prayer life.
The fruits of the Holy Spirit are what we should see in our lives if we are doing the will of God: joy, peace, love, kindness, gentleness, long-suffering, self control, modesty, chastity, generosity, patience, and faithfulness. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you at the beginning of each day and throughout the day. The Holy Spirit is the Advocate that Jesus gave us until His return.
Jesus says at the Last Supper in John’s Gospel, “15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. j16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate* to be with you always ,k17 the Spirit of truth,* which the world cannot accept, because it neither sees nor knows it. But you know it, because it remains with you, and will be in you.l”
Are you weeping because they have taken the Lord from you? Mary Magdalene is blessed to be the first to recognize that the resurrected Jesus is no longer in the tomb. She weeps. Let us rejoice and be glad by spending time with Him each day so that one day we may not be weeping in eternal life without our Lord. The Resurrection of Jesus is not one single day on the calendar but everyday of the year! -Matt Maher
Today’s challenge: Educate yourself in the YouCat or look up in the Catechism of the Catholic Church the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit. Start praying for the areas you need the most help in, Jesus sends us the Holy Spirit to help us know the Truths which He revealed to be passed on to each new generation. Spend time in prayer each day with our Lord remembering what He did for us.
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created and you shall renew the face of the earth.
Holy Spirit, please bring forth the gifts of your Spirit within me so I may do the Father’s Will and see the fruits of your Spirit in my life so that I may glorify Him.

Be a servant, be a saint today!
“Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” This stuck out to me because we all need to give ourselves to God because the devil is working through all of the objects we value the most. We need to be careful on what we give our attention to and dont forget to make time for God
“Woman, why are you weeping?” Why do we cry? Probably because of the bad things of this world, like death, or hunger, when these things happen we need to bring it to the Lord so he can help us. He has already helped us in many ways and is right now, so why not ask for more help?
Mary Magdalene is at the tomb but Jesus isn’t there because he has already risen from the dead. Then when shes weeping he apears to her and says “stop holding onto me” and he also tells her to tell his brothers meaning the disciples and tell them I’ve risen because before this they didn’t know he was going to rise from the dead he’d told them in indirect ways but they didn’t understand the meaning until this day. Mary also didn’t recognize Jesus at first until he revealed himself just like often times blessing in our lives have Jesus hidden in them until he reveals his hand on your shoulder.
Today Mary Magdalene finds Jesus as a gardener before he ascends to the father. At first she does not recognize him but when she pays closer attention she recognizes him. This can show us that amazing things are in this world but we wont see them if we are always on our phones or video games. We need to take breaks to look around at our world and admire what God gave us.
Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to him in Hebrew, “Rabbouni,” which means Teacher. This stuck out to me because she didn’t realize who Jesus was until He said her name. Jesus called Mary by name and then she knew who He was. Jesus calls us all by name too. He wants us to recognize who He is and who we are through Him. It takes longer for some to recognize who they are through Christ than others. It is ok to not know who you are yet. You just need to keep praying to Jesus and keep asking Him who you are through Him. Jesus loves us so much. He wants us to love Him just as much as He loves us.
A part that stuck out to me was “Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?” She thought it was the gardener and said to him, “Sir, if you carried him away, tell me where you laid him, and I will take him.” Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to him in Hebrew, “Rabbouni,” which means Teacher.”
Jesus tells Mary Magdalene not to weep. As she notices he is not in the tomb she starts weeping and then she sees him and realizes he resurrected from the dead. Then Jesus tells her his plan to ascend to the father. He kept his promise that he would defeat death with the resurrection and come back before his ascension.
¨If we dont believe that Jesus Christ has risen from the dead then our religion is not worth it¨ The same power that rose Jesus from the dead is living inside of us. Romans 8:11. Think about that, the same power that Jesus rose from the dead is living inside of us, we can do anything through Jesus. We are disciples of God, Are you weeping because they have taken the Lord from you? Mary Magdalene is blessed to be the first to recognize that the resurrected Jesus is no longer in the tomb. People say men dont cry, but Jesus wept and suffered all because he loved us, he sweat blood because he loves us, and saying that there is no God, or this didnt happen 2000 years ago is pitiful when there is living truth,
4/2/24 Mary Magdalene was weeping outside the tomb for Jesus because she loved Him so much. She didn’t know that the gardener was Him, but He said her name and she knew immediately it was Jesus. All we have to do is have faith and listen for God’s voice.
Today’s scripture we learn, We shouldn’t be afraid without Jesus because he is with us always. People think cause he’s “dead” he can’t help or save us, that’s false Jesus is always with us wherever and whenever we need him. Jesus asks his apostles to keep thee faith and truth alive for more to come, and to keep his commandments and laws onto forever and ever.
to spend more time with Jesus because the resurrection showed us that everyday should be a day we are with Jesus. To pray to Jesus for their we will meet him in heaven so we should become familiar with God.
Jesus gave us the same Holy Spirit as the apostles, it just depends on how much we open our hearts to Him and allow Him to work through us. Because it’s not our will but His and if we don’t let Him in our hearts He can’t work though us.
Mary Magdalene was so devoted to Jesus, she wept at his tomb for hours. The Apostles, however, ran away, and hid in a room. Who would be the better disciple? Neither! Neither is better, because they all have sinned. The only thing that would differentiate them is if one did not repent. The true mark of a contrite sinner, is that they are seeking to be forgiven. They don’t only ask for forgiveness when it is convenient for them, but they actively pursue it. They devote their waking moments to finding the one that can forgive them. This is what we need, we need to recognize the severity of our sin and search for Jesus in the confessional. We need to get out of the rut of monotonous sin, and remind ourselves of the true wickedness of sinning!so many times we don’t recognize the atrocity of our sin, that through this ‘little’ thing, death enters the world! We have to realize what our sin does, so we can be truly contrite and sorry.
I liked how it talked about the Holy Spirit because I think it’s important that we realize the Holy Spirit is everywhere. We need to let the Holy Spirit help us, It will guide us on the right path. If we don’t let the Holy Spirit work in us, we will never be led on the right path, we will drift further from God. So we need to do our best to allow the Holy Spirit in our lives.
‘I am going to my Father and your Father,
to my God and your God.’”
This part really stood out to me because he is saying that he is his Father my Father and your Father same with the next part that he is his God my God and your God but I mostly liked this part because it made really me think about it we all have the same Father and God but why are we mean to each other if we are all spiritually related why do we feel the need to body shame or call names or just plane bully people this is something that I feel really strongly about but I will admit that I probably made someone feel bad about themselves at one point or another we all have but its time we all start over and be nice to everyone no matter how they look act or speak it is important that everyone has someone to talk to
When Mary Magdalene weeps because the tomb is empty she believes that they have taken the Lord from them but Jesus is with us always we just have to open up our hearts and let Jesus in to find him and ourselves the path that we have to take that he has made unique for each one of us, and grow a relationship with God.
Mary Magdalene arrived at the Tomb, only to learn that Jesus wasn’t there. When Jesus appeared behind Mary Magdalene and at first she didn’t realize that she was looking at Jesus.
Jesus doesn’t want us to cry about him but instead to rejoice and be happy. When she arrived at his tomb she saw that Jesus was not there. She didn’t know but Jesus was where she was looking and the He had Risen.
In the scripture I liked when it said “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” I like this statement because it means with all the objects we take pride in we are becoming farther and farther away from God and all that he has done for us. We think too much about all the objects we have and we need to focus more of our time on God and what he did for us.
Mary Magdalene weeps and cries not because she is sad. But because she is overwhelmed with so much joy. We should always remember that it is never a will of our own, but a will of God. We must listen to His words and what he wants for us.
Jesus will always help you when you need Him. We must have more faith in Him. He is amazing and He is always there for us. Even if we cannot see the Lord, He is always with us. Trust in the Lord
“Jesus breathed the same Holy Spirit on Peter and the Apostles in that upper room on Pentecost as He breathed on you and me at our baptism and confirmation.” I really liked this part of this scripture, because it tells us that we are as important to God as Peter and the Apostles were. Sometimes we think that we are worth nothing, but God doesn’t think that. He loves you as much as he loved Peter and the Apostles; the people that gave up their lives to him.
Three days after Jesus’ death, Mary Magdalene arrives into the tomb to pray to Jesus. As she enters, she realizes that He’s not there. She turns around to tell the apostles, but runs into a man in a white robe. He tells her that Jesus is risen. Mary Magdalene runs to tell the apostles. Jesus rose from the dead. We can be like Jesus and take up our crosses. We may fail, but we must try again and again like Jesus’ falls. When Jesus died, He finished Satan and defeated the grave.
Today’s Gospel is about us truly beleiveing that he rose from the dead and
Mary Magdalene thought that someone had taken Jesus when she should
have been joyful because he is risen. The two angels told her that he is risen.
Something that I found interesting was that Mary Magdalene didn’t recognize Jesus. This is weird to me because how did she not recognize him. Jesus then said that she shouldn’t be weeping. Tell everyone that I have come back tell them that I will return to the father eventually but not right now. This is cool because Jesus wanted to tell everyone that he was back and had risen.
Jesus has come back and is going to work on saving our souls. Mary Magdalene saw him and was like “Hold up a minute I thought you were dead” and Jesus was like “My work is not yet finished, go tell people about me”. So that is what Mary did and how we know about our guy Jesus.
In the Gospel today Jesus rolls away the stone but Mary Magdalene did not see Jesus in the empty tomb so she started to weep. Jesus then came to her but she did not know that it was Jesus so she asked him where Jesus was laid. Then Jesus said her name and she immediately recognized him. Then Jesus told her to tell his disciples that he had risen from the dead.
Mary not recognizing Jesus at first is just like how we might not see Jesus in our everyday lives through others or small miracles. We just see it as another person or getting lucky, but we need to see it for what it truly is, Jesus living in our lives, friends, and family, not just in the tabernacle or in church but always.
“Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you at the beginning of each day and throughout the day“ I chose this because I think it is important that everyday we have the Holy Spirit by our side. When we have the Holy Spirit we are reminded of God and we can take the right path and ignore all worldly things. We can like stuff that we life but always remember to put God first.
Something that I got out of this was that we need to have hope. We believe in the one true savior, so why should we have any doubt that he is the fake one, when there is so much evidence for us to believe in.
Jesus was the heart of the apostles so when he died the apostles lost their leader and they are lost they are in a bad spot because they gave up their lives for this man you can’t just go back into society after doing all of that stuff everyone thinks the are crazy.
At first Mary Magdalene was weeping because she thought they took away Jesus her teacher. She did not know Jesus had rose and was right behind her. She did not recognize him because he was clean and beautiful. God healed him. Once she found out it was Jesus she rejoiced and went to go tell everyone. Jesus won’t leave our sides is what sort of stuck out to me. This stuck out to me because like Mary thought they had taken the Lord from her he came to her and everyone and rose again. He would never leave us and has never left us. He is always by our sides when we need him most.
I think the gospel is trying to say is that Mary Magdalene thought that Jesus went to heaven so she weeped of joy because she knew Jesus didn’t leave her because Jesus is always with us even in the darkest times and the brightest times when we think we don’t need him but we do.
“Whom are you looking for?” Today this quote caught my attention, Mary Magdalene was looking for Jesus and she found Him. She turned her life to Jesus and she was one of His closest friends. She used to be possessed by demons, but now Our Lord brought her home. We too can be like Mary Magdalene and turn to God. We can turn from sin and turn to Our Lord. We can be His closest friend and spend eternity with Him if we decide to do what is right.
Today we hear about a great repentance. Throughout the history of the church, we have heard of many who sought out Jesus. However to do this, many times it often required repentance first. These people who had just realized who Jesus truly was needed to repent, before they were baptized. In this same way we should repent.
Jesus was the heart of the apostles so when he died the apostles lost their leader and they are lost they are in a bad spot because they gave up their lives for this man you can’t just go back into society after doing all of that stuff everyone thinks the are crazy and that hard to make people not believe that anymore.
I think an important part was – Peter [said] to them, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.” Even though Peter was mentioning baptism I think this would also make sense for confession/reconciliation. The moment we confess our sins Jesus forgives us. Sometimes I forget that, so I try to remind myself of that.
Jesus says, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” Even though we don’t keep his commandments all the time, Jesus still loves us! He knew that we would fall when he was on the cross, but even though he saw that, he kept going, and sacrificed himself. He knew that as humans we would fall to temptations, but he gave us a second chance to get up again. Jesus loves us, and his death on the cross was proof of that.
When Mary went to Jesus’s tomb and found nothing she wept for hours. That shows how devoted she was to Jesus. Only when Jesus starts talking to her she doesn’t know who he is. It takes her a moment to recognize him and when she does she knows he has risen from the dead.
I think this Gospel is telling me that sometimes we despair when we don’t think Jesus is there. Sometimes we overlook him or his help and we don’t realize how he is working in our lives. Kind of like how Mary didn’t recognize Jesus at first and actually accused him of taking the body. Everything good in our lives comes from Jesus. Every single blessing. And we just need to learn to see him in our lives. Because every single good thing he bestows upon us is kind of like a mini resurrection. A little miracle God gave to you.
Jesus is trying to tell us to repent and allow the Holy Spirit to work in our lives. The fruits of the Holy Spirit are what we should see in our lives if we are doing the will of God. Jesus says at the Last Supper in John’s Gospel, “15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate* to be with you always ,the Spirit of truth,* which the world cannot accept, because it neither sees nor knows it. But you know it, because it remains with you, and will be in you.”
Jesus died on the cross for our sins. But then he rose in all his glory to show us that even death has no power over the son of God. We have to trust in him and never give up hope of his second coming. When we really need it, he will come.
“Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you at the beginning of each day and throughout the day. The Holy Spirit is the Advocate that Jesus gave us until His return.” what I am getting from this is that we need guidance. every single one of us needs Jesus in our life. Without him who are we? No one, we need to have Jesus Christ in our life. And if we don’t acknowledge him on earth he will not acknowledge us on judgement day.
Woman why are you weeping is it because of the death and sin in this world. That stuck out to me because it shows Jesus’ telling them that their are bad things in this world but if you follow me you will have eternal peace and life with give you its fruits of happiness.
“Repent and be baptized” when we do this so we can be loved by God and be with him in heaven
Jesus said, If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate* to be with you always the Spirit of truth,* which the world cannot accept, because it neither sees nor knows it. But you know it, because it remains with you, and will be in you.l”You need to be the best as you can be so that you might be with God.
Today’s gospel is about how Mary Magdalene discovered that Jesus had risen and how she was crying by the tomb when Jesus appeared to her and said “Woman, why are you weeping?” then after she tell him she realizes that it is Jesus.
Mary Magdalene saw the stone rolled away and ran to the tomb. She did not know that Jesus had risen and she thought that Jesus had been taken away. She then saw Jesus, but she did not know it was Jesus and thought he was a gardener. When Jesus said her name, “Mary” she knew who it was. Jesus calls our names like he did with Mary Magdalene. It is up to us whether we answer or not.
“If you love me you will keep my commandments” we need to keep Jesus’ commandments they are there for a reason. We need to follow his commandments if we want to get to heaven. They aren’t there to keep us from having fun they are there to keep us on the right path to get to heaven and to meet Jesus.
Gods will is to have you grow in joy, peace, love, kindness, gentleness, long-suffering, self control, modesty, chastity, generosity, patience, and faithfulness than what kind of challenge is gaining heaven, God what’s us to be with him but we have to repent and ask for forgiveness to grow in those gifts.
I think that Jesus is trying to tell me to not feel bad and be sad that he was killed but to rejoice and be happy that he ha d one what was right and that was what God wanted him to do. God has a plan for all of us but not all of us have the same path to be great, we all don’t have to be crucified to be Catholic all we have to do is follow his will and listen to him when he calls your name.
“Jesus said to her, “Mary!”
She turned and said to him in Hebrew, “Rabbouni,”
which means Teacher.”
This part of the scripture stuck out to me, because Mary Magdalene was sad that Jesus was gone, and was trying to find His body, thinking that they had taken Him away. She didn’t recognize Jesus right in front of her until He said her name. So, too, are we called by name to come, follow Him, and believe in what He says.
What stood out to me was “whom are you looking for.” This stood out to me because Mary Magdalene look Jesus in his eyes and said “sir, if you carry him away tell me where you lay him.” To me that is so crazy to think about. She was staring Jesus Christ in his face and asked where he was. I think this also teaches us not to be blind to what’s around us. When we are connected with Jesus on a crazy level we see things that the regular human eye can’t see.
Repent and be baptized is what was important because we should be longing for Christ. Non Catholics do believe in a God, but not the true God. God still loves them and forgives them but they don’t see that. Most of us should realize that we have a burden and we should see that in others. There is power in the saying of in the name of Jesus, it can heal, it can cast out demons, and it will change your life. So why don’t we see it. It’s because we think the way we think of the High priests. We think that no one can do that not man, and they didn’t BELIEVE in that. That’s the problem we are too ashamed of in ourselves and yet we don’t believe the power that he has, when will we have faith in something that exists. for the forgiveness of our sins, and you will receive the gifts of the Holy spirit. When will we realize that if we believe in God that our sins will be forgiven and that we will be closer to him than ever. We will receive the Gifts of the Holy spirit, once we believe care for love that God gave us. We need to have more faith in God and less in things that won’t matter and won’t lead us to him.
In todays scripture reflection Mary Magdelene finds Jesus Christ as a gardener. She waits at the tomb but her son isnt there because he has already rose. And when Jesus said her name she immediately knew it was Jesus, she was filled with so much joy to see that her son is alove. Jesus does not want us to be sad he wants us b=to be filled with joy and be happy.
Something I found interesting was when Mary Magdalene didn’t recognize Jesus. I found it interesting because you would assume that she would have recognized Jesus. Jesus told her that she should be sad and weeping and to tell everyone he was risen and came back.
Let us rejoice and be glad by spending time with Him each day so that one day we may not be weeping in eternal life without our Lord. This is saying we will weep in portraiture. Once we are out of portraiture we do not have to weep anymore because we are with the Lord. God wants us with Him. The Holy Spirit is within us. He wants us to believe and follow in Jesus’ footsteps. Once we believe then the Holy Spirit will help guide us closer to Heaven.
When I look at most younger kids these days, I see complete disregard for themselves and other people. They are constantly cursing and screaming profanities at each other. I see a complete lack of respect. Respect is the foundation of a relationship with God. You can not have a good relationship with someone unless you treat them with respect. We have strayed from God, the man that only wants to give us the best possible things. We only stray from him because it requires even the slightest amount of effort.
Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?
Whom are you looking for?”
Mary Magdalin was a very devout catholic and very connected with Jesus and God. She went out looking for Jesus and was even begging Jesus without knowing who he was to tell her where he went. We need to be like her and use her as example. Always be looking for God.
“Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” This really stuck out to me becuause its like the devil is working through objects and we need to give our life to GOd an be carefull what were are doing.
no matter what, pray and keep believing in the Lord, keep your hope in him.
‘I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” This stuck out to me because it sounds so powerful and wise from our Lord. He rose from the dead to prove that he was God and all of the people who wanted Him to be crucified to be in shame. We should never doubt Jesus and should always listen to Him whenever.
What stuck out to me was “I am going to my Father and your Father”. This stuck out to me because it shows that God truly is our Father and Jesus’ father. I love that it shows that God is truly our father and I love that because whenever anyone doubts it they go back to their bible and find this verse to truly show that God is truly our father.
If you love me, you will keep my commandments. That really stuck out to me because we keep disobeying God forgetting what is right. We have to repent if we make mistakes and show God that we are truly sorry.
Mary Magdalene is overjoyed that Jesus rose from the dead. Most of us today arent, we keep asking ourselves where is he? He is in Heaven waiting for the second coming. We have all the proof we need though, we know he rose from the dead, we know he died on the cross for us so we should be overjoyed too.
The Holy Spirit was sent down to help guide us in our quest to find Jesus. It is there to help us understand the Bible and what Jesus is teaching us.
It shocks me to see a lot of people on Easter Day go to Mass, packed with people that don’t even go to our parish or are catholic. Itś cool to see people attend mass even if you don’t know them. I just love staring at what people are wearing to mass, if they have different eye colour or different hair colour. Its just cool to see so many people in one room like at a wedding or gathering. Itś just great to have people around
When Mary goes to find Jesus, He is not there. She started weeping in front of the tomb because she did not know who took Jesus. She saw the “gardener” and asked where Jesus was because she did not recognize who Jesus was. This symbolizes us with our fallen nature. Jesus is here waiting for us but instead of realizing its Him we assume its a normal person.
It shocks me to see a lot of people on Easter Day go to Mass, packed with people that don’t even go to our parish or are catholic. Itś cool to see people attend mass even if you don’t know them. I just love staring at what people are wearing to mass, if they have different eye colour or different hair colour.

I feel like God is trying to say that He is right in front of us and sometimes we don’t even know it. Like sometimes we are mad at Jesus for something bad that happen in our life and in reality its going to lead to something much greater and you don’t even see it.
When Jesus was talking to Mary Magdalene she didn’t recognize Him. She thought He was a gardener. So when Jesus comes the 2nd time and bodies are resurrected into Heaven with us we too will be unrecognizable. All of the blemishes that lay on our bodies now will be gone but why does that matter. Why should how we look matter. Jesus came to you for how you are. He doesn’t care about how you look. He still died for you. So don’t worry about the way you look and any blemishes you think you have because the only opinion you should care about is Jesus and He will love you for just being you.
If Jesus did not raise from the dead we would be the most Pitiable of People, but we believe he did because he was a real person, we have evidence of that, like we have evidence George Washington was a person. Jesus did raise from the dead, the first evidence is the shroud of Turin, the second is the bible because we have eye witness accounts of Jesus’s life death and Resurrection.
“I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.” Jesus is fully Human and fully Divine, and he shared the same Heavenly Father that we do. He is our brother and we are all brothers and sisters under the same Father. Jesus is one of the three persons but he was also a human who felt pain and sorrow. Jesus was an example to us of how we treat each other and how to pray to God.
It was interesting to me that Mary didn’t recognize Jesus. Surely, if you spend your whole life with someone, you would recognize them, but no. Jesus blinded her of seeing that it was him.
Why did Jesus roll away the stone? The stone was blocking the doorway to the tomb. There was also guards. The guards were sent there to keep people from stealing the body of Jesus. The stone by the way was HUGE. It would’ve took a ton of people to move it and they would have made a lot of noise, even if the guards were asleep they would’ve woke up. This was not planned by the apostles or Jesus’s disiples, none of the apostles thought that he would rise you can see in the Gospel that Mary didn’t even recognize Jesus. The stone was rolled away because the stone was keeping him in the tomb. The stone was the one thing in his way of coming back to life and he rolled it away. Our sins are the one thing that keep us from God. We need to roll away our sins, the stone, and live a true life, a pure life, in Heaven with the Son of man, Jesus Christ.
Lent always seems to have a gradual build up to Holy week. Once you get to Holy week it’s like entering a dark cave without a flashlight and only faith and hope. You end up walking through the last seven days of the Lenten season by walking through the story of Jesus’ Passion. Of course, the whole season of Lent we meditate on the Passion with the Stations of the Cross. It does somehow get more intense though, especially in the last few days of Lent. After Lent is over, it’s like walking out of the other side of the cave. Easter is like hope and sunshine pouring down on us along with Jesus’ love. It’s a beautiful feeling to walk into, and that feeling stays with us in the season of Easter.
Jesus doesn’t want us to cry about him but instead to rejoice and be happy. When she arrived at his tomb she saw that Jesus was not there. She didn’t know but Jesus. Where she was looking and he had Risen.
“We are to do all things in the name of Jesus Christ”
Even if it is something that isn’t a Christian thing, you should still do it in the name of Christ. Because he knows that everything you do, you do for him. And he will always want you to do it in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I think God is trying to tell us that He is God and we need to believe in Him, trust Him.I think we need to try and carry on what we did during Lent into Easter
In this scripture reflection I was reminded that being baptized is another sign that you believe in God and everything that He has done, and how strong baptism is.
today Peter says repents and get baptized in the name of the Lord. They figured out Jesus was who we said he was and believed. They wanted a relationship with him. That’s the first step of getting into heaven, wanting a relationship with Jesus. If we don’t want a relationship with Jesus nothing else matters. Getting right with Jesus is the most important step.
Although we do not see jesus’ physical body with us, he is still with us everyday to guide us to heaven. When Mary Magdalen was talking to Jesus after he rose but she didn’t realize it was him is very similar. Jesus uses people or things on the physical earth as vessels to guide us, we just don’t realize that its him
We all need to repent and change are ways of sin so that the holy spirit can breathe new life into us we need to look to the holy spirit for guidance because that is who Jesus left us to get through this world and make it to the next one we need to expand upon what we got in confirmation to be true soldiers of God and to defend this world from sin and above all the devil.
Mary loved Jesus. She loved his so much that when she came to the tomb and found it open and empty, she started weeping. But then Jesus talked to her, but she didn’t recognize him. How many of us probably have talked to Jesus without even recognizing we are talking to him. Jesus is in all of us. Jesus is there with us always. we just have to realize that.
“Woman, why are you weeping” is a part that stuck out to me because Jesus is asking why she is upset and crying. And he doesn’t want that for anyone, he just wants us to all be happy. Also that we need to be closer with God so he can help us.
Jesus has truly given us a gift of being able to basically contact him whenever and wherever, you don’t need a phone, you don’t need a computer, all you need is to just be able to talk to him. Skipping prayer does the exact opposite of strengthening a bond between you and Jesus, which is really not good, so don’t skip praying and always have him in your mind when you’re doing things
Jesus rose from the dead to save us from our sins. He reaches out to us. He wants a relationship with us. The part that stuck out to me was, Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit”. This sticks out to me because this is Jesus showing us that we need to be baptized.
“He breathed on you and me at our baptism and confirmation.” He breathed on us to show us that we do have the Holy Spirit inside us. We don’t see the fire upon our heads but it is always there. We release the most heat from our heads. We may not know that the Holy Spirit moves us to show us that Jesus loves us but it does everyday.
What stuck out to me in today’s scripture is ‘I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” This stuck out to me i don’t even really know why but it brings me comfort to read this line over and over again knowing that God will always forgive me and love me as if i was his own daughter.
“Jesus said to her, “Mary!”
She turned and said to him in Hebrew, “Rabbouni,”
which means Teacher.”
This stuck out to me because it tells me that Jesus will always call us by name but sometimes we don’t hear and that why we need to be prepared for the second coming because we will never know when it will happen.
Jesus died on the cross for our sins. But then he rose in all his glory to show us that even death has no power over the son of God.
Mary Magdalene is very sad at the beginning of the Gospel reading today. But her sadness is then turned into an overwhelming joy when she is told that Jesus has risen. 2 angels ask Mary Magdalene why she is sad, she tells them that her Lord has been taken by the government and she doesn’t know where they have taken Him. But the angels tell her that He is Risen. The words He is Risen, have given us so much hope for another life with Jesus after this. If we have faith and believe in Jesus, and do good works (remember whatsoever you do to the least of my people you have done unto me) we will have eternal life. There is nothing that we should fear except for God Himself. Jesus has defeated sin and death so that we can too.
“Mary Magdalene stayed outside the tomb weeping.” when Mary saw that the stone had been rolled away and someone had taken the body of Jesus she stayed there and wept. She is so heartbroken and filled with grief that someone had taken the body that she didn’t care that someone could see her and associate her with Jesus like the Apostles. When we place ourselves in this scenario would we be the disciple weeping or hiding?
we need to give ourselves to God and stop giving our selves to random objects like our phone and social mediaand focus on the one who actually matters, Jesus.
Jesus asks Mary who she is looking for, as if she should know that he has risen. she knows that he is the Lord, and yet she did not expect him to rise from the dead, like it says in the scriptures. even though she listens to him, she did not truly believe that he would do what he said he would. we should all try to believe in the resurrection and Jesus with all our hearts.
“But go to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” When we die we should not be sad but rejoice! When our bodies die our soul is truly alive and is brought up to God. I feel like this scripture is telling us that death isn’t the end of us, just our body, but our soul will rise. When we rise we will be united with our true father, in a place of true, beautiful rejoicing.
Something I found interesting was when Mary Magdalene didn’t recognize Jesus. You would think she would recognize him if he is our Lord and Savior. But she didn’t recognize Jesus at all which is very surprising.
Whom are you looking for?” Today this quote caught my attention, Mary Magdalene was looking for Jesus and she found Him. She turned her life to Jesus and she was one of His closest friends. She used to be possessed by demons, but now Our Lord brought her home. We too can be like Mary Magdalene and turn to God. We can turn from sin and turn to Our Lord. We think too much about all the objects we have and we need to focus more of our time on God and what he did for us.
Jesus died on the cross the most painful way to die but then He rose from the dead and this shows that there really is no amount of pain or death that can stop Him
Jesus is saying that he will come down again and he will tell us and show us that he is the god of all gods and he is the way to follow.
When Mary Magdalene Was weeping outside the tomb,
then when she was with great joy. It shows us that we
could be from the bottom of our days to the happiest
when we choose to believe in God.
The Gospel tells us that Jesus is risen and is stronger than death. cause Jesus is life
When mary magdeline was weeping because she saw the stone has been rolled away and she was afraid because she wanted to protect god. We should care for god because of how much he does.
In today’s gospel the Lord comes back and finds a women there at his tomb weeping for she thought someone had taken the Lord from his tomb and laid him somewhere else. Jesus in today’s gospel is fully healed after the beatings, the scouring, and crufixtion that is why the women didn’t recognize him.
They were cut to the heart. To me this means that someone either did get cut to the heart or what I think it is is that someone experienced some traumatic thing or they got cut away from Jesus. We don’t want to be cut from Jesus and also cut to the heart so we need to do our best to get to Jesus.
‘I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
This really stood out to me because its saying that his Father is our Father and his God is our God
The same power from Jesus is living inside of us. When Mary saw that the stone had been rolled away and someone took away the body of Jesus she stayed there and wept. She is heartbroken and filled with sadness.
In today’s scripture Mary Magdalene is found weeping about Jesus’death. Jesus doesn’t want us to cry, but to rejoice instead. Think about it. Jesus just saved the world and even gave up his life in doing so. I understand when one leaves this earth and can be very tough, but we must stay strong and be grateful for what he has done for us.
The same power from Jesus is living inside of us. When Mary saw that the stone had been rolled away and someone took away the body of Jesus she stayed there and wept. She is heartbroken and filled with sadness
“whom are you looking for?” This quote says a lot because as people we look away from God because we don’t choose or want to follow his rules. He is right in front of us with open arms yet we are shaking it off, not caring or choosing to ignore him.
Mary Magdalene didn’t recognize Jesus until He said her name. We are called by Jesus to come and follow Him as well.
We should be rejoicing for Jesus has risen, not weep because he was dead. Jesus wants us to be happy that is why he rolled the stone away. If he left and the stone was still there no one will know that he has risen, so to prove to us that he is alive and to make us rejoice once more.
In today’s scripture reflection Mary Magdalene didn’t recognize Jesus. This stuck out to me because you would think that she would recognize Jesus but she did not. You would think that Mary Magdalene would be happy and crying but she was not.
Mary Magdalene did not know that Jesus has risen. She was weeping because she thought someone had took Jesus’s body out of the tomb and put it someplace else. “Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you at the beginning of each day and throughout the day.” This stuck out to me because, God is telling us to ask the Holy Spirit to guide us to make the right choices everyday.
“Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” It means with all the objects we take pride in we are becoming farther and farther away from God and all that he has done for us.
Mary was weeping outside of Jesus tomb because of her love for Him. He called her by name like how he calls us by name and Mary knew it was Jesus. We need to recognize when Jesus is calling to us.
3 days after Jesus’ died, Mary Magdalene went to Jesus’ tomb and saw that he wasn’t there, She wept because Jesus wasn’t there and someone might’ve taken Jesus’ body. She didn’t realize that the Gardener she was talking to was Jesus. In this scripture Jesus rose from the dead and came back to see us. Jesus loves us very much and we should love Him back like Mary Magdalene.
Jesus is the candle he spreads to his aposels and they spread the holy spirit to us the siners and we are healed and we then spread the word of jesus and the holy spirit to others.
I think we get to normal with Jesus’s resurrection. We often seem to celebrate Easter by doing what we gave up and being happy that we don’t have to go to school. In today’s Gospel, Mary shows us how she didn’t even think that He resurrected. She thought that the gardener or someone had taken Him. If someone else in our life resurrected we would probably react the same way. We would just think that it wasn’t real or that someone was trying to trick us. We need to realize that people don’t normally just get raised from the dead. Other than Jesus, no person has ever been able to cure death or be able to rise from the dead.
In today’s Gospel, the disciples’ eyes really struck me. It is interesting to think about the pathway between our eyes and our brain. To this day, scientists cannot replicate the complex array of neurons that are needed for an eye transplant, and yet it obviously can be fooled by many things. For instance, light, love, hate, or other things. Today, it was the disciples’ worry. They were so nervous, that they didn’t even see what was in front of them. It was only when Jesus broke the bread that they came to know, and that makes you wonder. How many people in our lives were angels in disguise? Or maybe a saint/ Jesus who was testing you? This is why the parable of the sheep and goats are important. Everybody is made in the image of God, and therefore has a right to dignity and other necessities. Whatever we do to the least of all people, is done unto God. We must remember to be patient, and mindful of other people and their situations. They may have had a bad morning, an unfortunate accident, or other misfortune, and we cannot punish them for something they couldn’t control! Jesus teaches us to forgive, and this we must do. To forgive mistakes in the past, while learning a lesson for the future.
the two unnamed disciples were walking to a place called Emmaus. While walking, they saw Jesus following them but didn’t recognize them. Then after seeing Jesus breaking bread at their house, they recognized them but then Jesus disappeared. We are the unnamed disciples. We didn’t recognize Jesus at first because we were distracted by the things in our life. Then we recognized Jesus through prayer.
“Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”-St. Peter. As long as you ask Jesus for forgiveness then He will forgive you, no matter what. Even if you think that you shouldn’t be able to be forgave He still will forgive you because He loves you.
Jesus breathed the same holy spirit on the apostles that he breathed on us. We have the same graces the apostles did. We are supposed to do all things sin the name of Jesus Christ.
Jesus doesnt want us to cry or weep about him. He wants us to keep trying to get closer to him and love him.
In today’s scripture I think Jesus is trying to tell me to grow in my faith and truly try to be with him. People normally say they are Christian but don’t do things to show it and I think Jesus is telling me to really believe and love him with my whole heart. Jesus said “For whom are you looking for” and the apostles said Jesus without knowing that he is standing right in front of them.
Mary Magdalene knew that Jesus had already been resurrected. She was weeping outside of the tomb because she knew that Jesus was the messiah. And then Jesus came to visit Mary Magdalene one last time. And she went to tell the disciples. We need to spread the word of Jesus.
Once again, the disciples had their blinders on and they couldn’t see the that man was Jesus. Jesus finally revealed it to them and by the time they realized, they were ashamed that they had not realized it was Jesus earlier.
We shouldn’t be afraid just because we feel like Jesus isn’t with us, Jesus is always with us. Jesus is always with us whenever we need him, even if it doesn’t feel like it all the time. He is with us through the pain, not to drag us out of it whenever we ask.
“Repent and be baptized” we do this so we can be loved by God and be with him in heaven.Amen
