“DO YOU NOT YET UNDERSTAND OR COMPREHEND? ARE YOUR HEARTS HARDENED? DO YOU HAVE EYES AND NOT SEE, EARS AND NOT HEAR? MK 8:14-21

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

It’s interesting how Jesus introduces the Eucharist to us by feeding the 4,000. They ate and were satisfied. This miracle teaches us that God can’t be outdone in generosity. It shows that God satisfies the hungry heart. Those who seek will find.

Most importantly, the closest friends of Jesus who witness the miracle still do not understand, trust, or believe. Jesus is present with us today in the Eucharist just like He was with His Apostles thousands of years ago. Amazing! Do you understand, trust, and believe it?

If not, don’t give up, SEEK! Find a book on the Eucharist so you can gain knowledge and understand. If you need miracles, there are plenty Eucharistic miracles (http://www.therealpresence.org/eucharst/mir/a3.html). Most importantly, pray for an increase in faith, hope, and love free gifts from God that help us in our journey to holiness.

Today’s challenge: Faith is a gift from God, ask for it. It is strengthened by praying, studying the Scriptures, God’s grace given to us through the sacraments, and inviting Jesus into your life. It is shown through our actions with love. Be Christ for others.

Be a servant, be a saint today!

Today we learned we need to grow in faith today by giving up meat and giving up something. Today we learn our true Identity, “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” That phrase is a big part of our faith showing that we will return to God.

What stood out to me in the Gospel is Jesus saying not to pray like the hypocrites, praying to be seen. Instead He said to pray in their houses

Lent is a time of fasting, prayer, and almsgiving. Most of us however don’t take time to let that fully sink in. We just pick a random thing to give up, and don’t think about if it gets us closer to God or not. Lent is a time to cut the toxic habits controlling you out of your life and to stop and be still and pay attention to the things around you and grow closer to God in these 40 days. You don’t want to miss this opportunity. But as today’s gospel said, you don’t want to be like the hypocrites who say everything that they do out loud for praise. You need to do it in silence and in secret, that is what gets you closer to God. Cut something toxic out from your life for the next 40 days, and start to pray every single day, or at least on days that you can pray. See what happens, see what changes occur, see if it made your life better or not. Don’t give something up and not learn from it and just go right back to it like things never changed. These next 40 days can be some of the greatest you’ll in your life if you let them.
