“NOTHING THAT ENTERS ONE FROM OUTSIDE CAN DEFILE THAT PERSON; BUT THE THINGS THAT COME OUT FROM WITHIN ARE WHAT DEFILE.” MK 7:14-23
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Jesus summoned the crowd again and said to them,
“Hear me, all of you, and understand.
Nothing that enters one from outside can defile that person; but the things that come out from within are what defile.”
When he got home away from the crowd
his disciples questioned him about the parable.
He said to them,
“Are even you likewise without understanding?
Do you not realize that everything
that goes into a person from outside cannot defile,
since it enters not the heart but the stomach
and passes out into the latrine?”
(Thus he declared all foods clean.)
“But what comes out of the man, that is what defiles him.
From within the man, from his heart,
come evil thoughts, unchastity, theft, murder,
adultery, greed, malice, deceit,
licentiousness, envy, blasphemy, arrogance, folly.
All these evils come from within and they defile.” Mk 7:14-23
Today, Jesus teaches us that heaven and hell begin within our heart and mind. God gave us spiritual powers greater than any of the superheroes. We have an intellect and a free will. We have the capacity to love. Once we have gained knowledge (it is crucial to keep gaining knowledge or rereading the Truth in the Scriptures, catechism, spiritual books) we can choose God or the devil. We grow in the gifts of the Spirit (knowledge, wisdom, understanding, fear of the Lord, piety, fortitude, and counsel)
Training our minds and believing in our hearts is a constant battle. This is why prayer and reading the Scriptures early in the morning when we rise helps us put on the armor of God and fight. The devil is cunning and deceitful. If we don’t have our mind right from the beginning, the day can be a disaster.
The three Scripture based prayers that have the greatest power against the devil are the Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be. This is why the rosary consists of these prayers and is a great devotion that helps us defeat sin in our lives. Mary always leads us to her Son and gives us strength to fight the Devil.
St. Louis de Montfort wrote the consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary saying that it is the quickest way to holiness. When Mary appears to people she tells them to say the rosary.
“No one can live continually in sin and continue to say the Rosary: either they will give up sin or they will give up the Rosary”~Bishop Hugh Doyle
Our eyes are the window to our souls. Whatever we watch, read, or listen to forms us everyday. Each time we turn on the TV or Internet we are being lied to unless it is the Truth, divinely revealed by Christ and inspired by the Holy Spirit. Jesus forces us to make a decision, there is no fence or such thing as a lukewarm Christian.
We either cooperate with God’s will and grow in holiness with His grace or we fall away. Come to Him in the sacraments, pray, drink deeply from the Scriptures, say a rosary a day to keep Satan away and serve others offering up all of your crosses throughout the day. Then, holiness is within reach. May God bless us on our journey!
Today’s challenge: What is the intention of your heart? Do you really desire heaven/a meaningful relationship? What else is there? Isn’t your greatest desire to be happy/have meaningful relationships? Make the most important decision of your life and begin the greatest battle of your life for holiness. This is what you are made for!
Be a servant, be a saint today!

Nothing that enters one from outside can defile that person; but the things that come out from within are what defile.”
This stuck out to be because when we meet someone and they dont act like the best person so we judge them but if we really spend the time to get to know them and see the real them from the inside, you might realize they wernt the way you thought they were. So we need to spend the time to go to know people and dont judge.
We gotta do holy things if we want to get to heaven. We all will sin and make mistakes but the most important thing is what we do after we make that mistake. Its good if we take that opertunity to learn from it and try not to do it again.
today’s scripture is mainly about you either fall away from God or you join him in Heaven with eternal rest, my favorite part of scripture is,”Nothing that enters one from outside can defile that person; but the things that come out from within are what defile.” It really shows a person’s reality and it’s the truth.
Something I took from today’s scripture reflection was just be kind. We are not made to fight and bicker with each other but to love. God loves us so much and He always has hope that we take that love he has for us and share it with others, give it to others, and love other people. The way He loves us and just be kind like Jesus.
what you do to the people around you show what type of person you are and it defines you.You have a choce on what type of personality you have.
Our hearts and minds have a great impact of heaven and hell it starts there cause what we think about is how we will talk and act and that will eventually become a life style so we have to control our minds and do what God made us to do and love everyone and follow him.
“But what comes out of the man, that is what defiles him.
I thought that this was really important because it doesn’t matter what you look like but how you act and think so as long as you are acting in a holy way with holy thoughts is all that matters.
What is done to us should not change our opinions, but how we respond to what is done to us is what defines us. Jesus does not care about what people have done to you, but what you have done to them in response. When others hurt us, did we forgive them? Or did we just ignore them and never talk to them. It is also important that we apologize when we do something wrong because it gives others the opportunity to forgive you and go back to being cool with each other. We all sin so we all need to apologize. One way we do this is by going to Confession and we apologize to God for our sins. He is there for us and will always forgive us. Nothing we do can make God love us less.
2/8/24 Today Jesus is teaching us about how sin comes from the heart and it can spoil other people. Things that come from outside you, like demons, can’t spoil things. He tells us not to sin.
“NOTHING THAT ENTERS ONE FROM OUTSIDE CAN DEFILE THAT PERSON; BUT THE THINGS THAT COME OUT FROM WITHIN ARE WHAT DEFILE”.What I get from this scripture reflection is rumors or what people say about you does not mean it’s true and right only you know the answer to that. The gifts and the fruits help us be a better person as well.God knows the most out of everyone he knows everything even before you know what will happen. We need to trust in God and let the timing be right.
“Hear me, all of you, and understand. Nothing that enters one from outside can defile that person; but the things that come out from within are what defile.” This stuck out to me because it tells us that whatever comes from the outside cannot defile us, that means that whatever comes from the outside to the inside goes to our stomach. But, whatever comes from the inside to the outside turns into, evil thoughts, unchastity, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, licentiousness, envy, blasphemy, arrogance, folly.
Today, Jesus teaches us that heaven and hell begin within our heart and mind. God gave us spiritual powers greater than any of the superheroes. We have an intellect and a free will. We have the capacity to love. What God is telling me today is that it is our choice if we want to believe or not, since we have free will then it is OUR choice no one else’s choice. God wants to lead us to Heaven and everything is for a reason in life.
Something that I got out of this was that our material goods do not matter. The only thing that matters is what is inside of us, how we think, and how we feel. Jesus said,”For it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to get into heaven.¨ That is so important, since we always get stuck into our physical things here on Earth, but don´t think about our spiritual things.
I think the passage means that we get to choose where we go. If you are good and give our life to the Lord, we will go to heaven. If we do things that don’t reflect God, then we aren’t going to heaven and we aren’t helping other people go to heaven.
We go to Heaven or Hell depending on other people’s Indulgences and your Indulgences and if you act loving or hating. We Have the Ability to love God and Neighbors yet some people just don’t love. We need to give many Indulgences to those people even if they are mean to you.”Do you not realize that everything
that goes into a person from outside cannot defile”.
The scripture said God gave us freewill. That means that he gave us a choice on what we want to do and so we have a conscience to pick from right and wrong. Whether we pick the right things and go to heaven and do the wrong things and go to hell. This could help me in everyday life because I need to choose the right thing to be able to spend the rest of my life living in the Jesus way.
For this gospel, it talks about clean and unclean things like Heaven and hell. Now, these are both in our body and mind, but if we are striving for something, what should we strive for? Striving for Heaven is the best choice because God created and opened the gates of Heaven. John 3:16 states, “For god so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” This is how much God loves us. When we realize it, we will start to follow God above anything else.
Something that stuck out to me today was “Nothing that enters one from outside can defile that person; but the things that come out from within are what defile.” I thought that Jesus was trying to tell us that what someone says to us does not defile us, but what we say to others can defile us.
Today we hear about where sin comes from, which is when we are not focused on Jesus and we let evil things get in our hearts and minds. This is why we should be ready to follow God in the beginning of the day, so throughout the day we can fight evil. It’s like if we are not ready for a sports game at the beginning, then we won’t be focused on doing our best, and most likely we will lose.
Today something that stuck out to me was that his disciples didn’t know what he was talking about. Which is kind of strange to me because how do Jesus’ own followers not have any idea what he is talking about. This actually makes a lot of sense to me because he explains it in further depth to the apostles. What it means to me is something like no matter how nasty or clean the things you digest from the outside are not your true feelings but the ones that come from your own original thinking are your real feelings. But today some people do not show their true or real feelings on the matter being discussed.
I think what God is telling us in this scripture is that we need to have more things come from the heart we are all so worried at the little things like not having the latest and greatest thing and that we are not cool any more because of it but really all we need is to focus on getting to heaven.
We have to watch our words, thoughts, and actions to make sure they are thinking, saying and doing the right thing. The way we act sets an example for others around us. We have to always do what is right and never be lukewarm. We are either all in or all out.
The Intention of your heart should be to love God. God made, God died on the Cross for your sins. You should love Him with all of your heart. You should desire heaven because it is the happiest place ever. If you don’t desire Heaven then what is the point of life. Heaven is what we are all trying to work for.
Jesus said, “THINGS THAT COME OUT FROM WITHIN ARE WHAT DEFILE.” Our thoughts become our actions, and actions can become our hobbies. If our thoughts are wrong our actions will most likely be wrong. Our thoughts come from within so we need to try to control our thoughts and use our free will wisely.
What I got from the Scripture, was that God built everyone with special powers basically. I think what Jesus was saying was all evil comes from somewhere and that ‘somewhere’ is our heart, soul, and mind. I believe that God truly built us so that we have the ultimate choice of right and wrong. God not only gave us the choice of evil, but also good. I believe God wants us to use the goodness He gave us, but He doesn’t force us to. That’s why we were given free will. To love God and our neighbors.
What stuck out to me was Jesus saying “But what comes out of the man, that is what defiles him. From within the man, from his heart.“ That stuck out to me because it is saying that the outside does not define someone but the truth from their heart truly defines who they are. This teaches us to not judge others based off how they look and rather teaches us to base people off who they truly are.
“Hear me, all of you, and understand.
Nothing that enters one from outside can defile that person; but the things that come out from within are what defile.” This is what stood out to me because defile means you are becoming unclean. This tells me that even if we see or hear something maybe unclean we can always recover from the bad thing we may have seen/heard but when we do it ourselves we become unclean and have sinned. This helps me know what path to go on and know what is right from wrong.
I think that when Jesus says that what comes from within some defiles them I think He means that when we do evil or sin, it defiles our soul. We should only make sure that we do good that way our soul won’t defile. If we have a good soul then we can go to heaven and we can go to confession to heal our soul. We make ourselves sin not the people around us.
“Hear me” I think this means that you need to listen to God and love him no matter what he is your father in heaven and he is waiting for you to come to him and see him love him and to pray to him!
Jesus is telling us that it is not who we are on the outside, but who we are on the inside. We cannot try to act like someone or something else. When we talk to God, the message has to come from the inside. We cannot live a fake faith. God knows what is really going on inside of you so there is no point in trying to hide it. We cannot have a happy life if we don’t mean what we say so do not “try” to act holy .
We are given free will. We have free will to love and be kind and to share and spread the Word of God. We grow our spiritual strength by praying, following the commandments, going to confession, and receiving the Eucharist.
“…everything
that goes into a person from outside cannot defile,
since it enters not the heart but the stomach…”
“But what comes out of the man, that is what defiles him.
From within the man, from his heart,”
I really like this part, because it helps me realize that our sin isn’t really the outside world’s fault, but is our fault in our hearts. We are in charge of our destinies, our beliefs, our actions. We cannot blame others for our own unholiness. It makes me want to strive to be a better person.
I think that God Is trying to tell me to not let outside stuff control who you are and what your personality is like, You are the only one who can control you. God gave us free will to worship him in our own way and will. We need to control ourselves and not let outside stuff tell us who we are and who we will be. HE IS GOOD!!
We live in a world with constant distractions and temptations. Each of them trying to lead us in one direction while Jesus is trying to lead us in the right direction. But the worldly temptation often look much more enjoyable and inviting than the path that God offers us. We’re often misguided but Jesus follows us and will gently nudge us back into the right direction But he gives us the choice to follow him because he wants our love for him to be purely our choice. He doesn’t want it to be forced. We just have to remember that at some point we need to realize that we need Jesus to live and we can’t keep chasing after our worldly desires because they will run out. But Jesus’ love doesn’t.
Jesus teaches us that heaven and hell begin within our heart and mind. God gave us spiritual powers greater than any of the superheroes. We have an intellect and a free will.
The saying “Are you even likewise without understanding? Do you not realize that everything that goes into a person from outside cannot defile, since it enters not the heart but the stomach and passes out into the latrine?” Makes me think about understanding peoples words or sayings. This saying also makes me think about what i should say or write.
I think that Jesus is trying to say that if we want to go to heaven it starts with us in our hearts and minds. And that if we don’t have faith in Jesus the Devil will control us.
“Hear me, all of you, and understand.
Nothing that enters one from outside can defile that person; but the things that come out from within are what defile.” What i think that is saying is that you can hear stuff from the internet or your friends that are defying God. That does affect you unless you agree with them to try to be cool or liked. You should always stand up for your belief no matter what because in the end Jesus is all that matters.
“Are even you likewise without understanding.” Jesus tells us that we need to understand to be likewise which means that we have to put questions into our own lives or how we should reflect our lives. Mass is a way to take in these life questions because of the homily, the homily is a way that Jesus can speak through the priest to tell us that this is what we need to understand. The problem that we have is that we are so caught up with distractions that we are not even paying attention to God, we either look at Our phone and they tell us how we live our lives falsely or you have God who is the way, the truth and the life. Jesus is our lord and savior and if we don’t pray to him what do we have, we won’t understand what God is planning for us in his kingdom in heaven that we are to get to. We just need Jesus.
From within the man, from his heart, come evil thoughts, unchastity, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, licentiousness, envy, blasphemy, arrogance, folly. All these evils come from within and they defile. Jesus says that in every man comes evil and they defile. If you pray daily that evil will leave the man’s soul. God is key to all problems and He is the one that will save us from sin. God sends out the Holy Spirit to guide us in the church. This shows me that if I keep praying I will get closer and closer to God everyday.
This is telling us that it doesn’t matter what is on the outside, like looks, height, ect. This is telling us that it is only what is on the inside that matters, like faith and stewardship.
“Hear me, all of you, and understand.
Nothing that enters one from outside can defile that person; but the things that come out from within are what defile.”
If it cant affect you it cant ruin you, you have to choose to not let it affect you, whatever that may be, we are all going through something. If it doesn’t harm your person than it wont affect you.
“Hear me, all of you, and understand. Nothing that enters one from outside can defile that person; but the things that come out from within are what defile.” This part stuck out to me because it’s telling us that we all make mistakes and what mistakes we make don’t define us. What defines us is what we have inside, our heart. You cannot judge a person on the sins that they have committed or the bad things that they have done. The only person who gets to judge us is God.
If someone says something bad to you or treats you badly you have the freewill to react to that, either nicely or badly.
If someone treats you badly don’t let your anger control you. forgive them.
What Jesus is saying in this passage is that anything that you see or consume will have an affect on you. “But what comes out of the man, that is what defiles him. From within the man, from his heart, come evil thoughts, unchastity, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, licentiousness, envy, blasphemy, arrogance, folly. All these evils come from within and they defile.” This phrase stuck to me because it shows how anything can define who you are
Its what you think on the inside not what you show on the outside. You can tell people you read the Bible every night but if you are not reading it spiritually and really listening to what the word of God is saying it means nothing to you. You have to really grow a connection.
“everything that goes into a person from outside cannot defile,” When we are attacked by peer pressure, we have 2 choices, we can decline what we know is wrong, or we can accept and potentially ruin our entire lives. In the modern times, it it far too easy to come in posession of drugs and pornography. We have allowed this to happen to us. I have seen people that have been addicted to drugs. My own aunt chose to run away from her family, we still do not know where she is. We are the biggest problem in the world. We consume withut limit, we destroy without cause, we murder without reason. Jesus is the pinnacle of human kindness, but we could not accept that he was fully human and fully divine.
All these evils come from within and they defile.
All evils come from inside your heart. and what does that mean, it means we can control them. we can control our desires, our temptations. if we pray to God we will win
What I think Jesus is trying to tell me is that the things I say and do have meaning to them, whether it’s good or bad. They don’t just have meaning in my life on earth but also when I get to Heaven they will have meaning. So, I think the message is that I should watch my words and actions.
We all have free will, but what we need to do with it is spread the Word and follow God’s rules and stay away from the devil.
We have control over our minds and thoughts and that can lead to sin and terrible actions. We have free will. We can choose to be holy. We have to pray to God to learn about our actions and thoughts. Our sins start in our mind and we should learn from God and the scriptures.
“We either cooperate with God’s will and grow in holiness with His grace or we fall away” That part really stuck out to me because it shows that we choose our own path and we can choose to grow as a person with God or forget him. If we choose to work with Him we will grow as a being and as a soul and we will have eternal happiness with him in heaven.
“All these evils come from within and they defile.” We can often think poorly about and be rude to ourselves. We can also find ourselves doing it to others. We should strive to stop thinking this way and to overtake the evil with the good. We need to start thinking more positively about ourselves and others. We are all human and all make mistakes. No one is perfect.
Today Jesus tells us basically the seven deadly sins. Which allows us to look at what they actually are, choices. You have a choice to think inappropriate thoughts or mean things about people. You have a choice to hit someone or say mean things to them but you also have a choice to not think loose things or say or do those things. So Jesus is telling us not to. He is telling us that if that is what we do then that’s what defines us.
i like the part about temptation, pretty cool to be reading that when i just watched a movie based on a man trying not to fall into the wrath of someone else by being tempted his whole life, really moving.
I think God is trying to tell us that just because we have free will doesn’t mean that we should do bad things. He is saying that free will is giving us a choice and we should make the right choice and follow Him.
“Are even you likewise without understanding? Do you not realize that everything that goes into a person from outside cannot defile, since it enters not the heart but the stomach and passes out into the latrine?” This tells me that we should be able to trust the way and the truth and the life of the Lord. We need to be the person He created us to be instead we try to act like something we aren’t just so people will like us. We are covering up what God gave us and what He created us to be since He made us in His image and we are hiding that image He created us to be.
The scripture today says “Nothing that enters one from outside can defile that person; but the things that come out from within are what defile.” This stuck out to me because it means that it doesn’t matter how we look or what we have that gets us to heaven, It’s how much we loved and cared for each other and whats comes from our hearts.
In the scripture it’s saying that we weren’t made to fight and have arguments with others but to love. God loves us all so much and he wants us to love people too and not fight with them.
God gave us spiritual power, a lot of it, why don’t all of us capitalize on that and ensure we go to Heaven? Material things, everyone knows that we love tv or texting or anything like that, but why do we do it. Mainly our fallen human nature, we all have it but that isn’t an excuse for all of the material things that we all want and put over Jesus. Just put them down and follow God.
Today Jesus is telling me that humans will sometimes have bad intentions, that may not be the cause for all humans but it is for some. Jesus says this line which really caught my attention, “But what comes out of the man, that is what defiles him.
From within the man, from his heart,
come evil thoughts, unchastity, theft, murder,
adultery, greed, malice, deceit,
licentiousness, envy, blasphemy, arrogance, folly.
All these evils come from within and they defile.”
He is telling us that these things are not good and we should stay away from these things. We should try to be like the Apostles and Mary, and pray to Mary every day because nothing bad comes from Mary.
today we learned that sin comes from are heart from are mind are soul and that God gave us a free will to be able to choose are decision which he hoped was love but we all at times use it to hate and for sin so we must use what God gave us to the best that we can possibly be which a example of Christ to create a strong relationship with him instead of floating away in a void of sin where well disconnected to him and where the devil wants us to be
today, Jesus asks his apostles whether they understand or not. they do not and Jesus has to explain it to them. they are like us, trying to understand God. We fail because his ways are godly, they are not our ways.
This reading made me think of something Mr. Goertz once said: “No one can live your faith for you.” Nobody can force you to believe in the Eucharist, no one can force you to kneel down and meaningfully pray. We have to make that decision to turn towards or away from God. As we get older we begin choosing our own paths unlike when we were younger and those paths were chosen for us and as we continue to get older one question will be tested the one that matters above all else will you follow Jesus or the other path?
“Hear me, all of you, and understand.
Nothing that enters one from outside can defile that person; but the things that come out from within are what defile.”
Something bad that enters into your home from the outside will never defile you, but what even you say inside your home and bring outside can defile many more by just maybe one or two words.
I think Jesus was trying to tell me in this scripture was that everyone is the same. You are made of the other person is made of. We were all created from ashes to ashes we shall return. Jesus loves us equally. Jesus does not judge so why do we? We judged because we are sinners but just because we are sinners does not mean it’s okay to sin. We all rationalize our sin. We are sinners but it doesn’t make it any less okay. We don’t have to agree with everybody we just have to respect them like Jesus would.
You have a choice to think inappropriate thoughts or mean things about people. You have a choice to hit someone or say mean things to them but you also have a choice to not think loose things or say or do those things.
We’re often mislead but Jesus follows us and will help us go back into the right direction, But he gives us the option to follow him because he wants our love for him to be our very own choice. God gave us to the best that we can possibly be an example of Christ to create a strong and pure relationship with him.
I think God is saying to not let the people around you distract or let them control who you want too be don’t let people tell you who you are and what you belive in.
He is talking about how sin comes from the heart, mind, and soul. Its also what we think on the inside not the outside.
Jesus tells today that we should not care about what others think about you, but what God thinks about you.
I think the scripture is telling us that we are all sinners, but we decide what we do. There’s a choice, heaven or hell, and it’s up to us which one we choose. We all sin and we have to learn from it and try our best to do what Jesus would do.
I feel the Lord is saying that we shouldn’t defile anyone who has done nothing wrong like the Lord said “Do you not realize that everything that goes into a person from outside cannot defile, since it enters not the heart” Like He said.
“Nothing that enters someone from outside can defile them.” to me this shows that once you die no big accomplishments will mean anything its not the earthly stuff that defiles us its the heavenly stuff.
I think what God is telling me in today’s scripture scripture is that we need to have more things come from the heart we are all so scared at the little things like not having the latest and greatest toy or electronic but we need to be happy for what we already have.Amen
I think the scripture is telling us that when we lie we are lying in the face of God the face of the Maker of the universe and when we do it does something bad to us. We can fix it by going to confession.
“Nothing that enters one from outside can defile that person; but the things that come out from within are what defile.” Heaven and hell begin with us. We can either make choices and decisions that will eat our soul out from the inside and separate us from God or we can decide to not defile ourselves with sin and meet The Father when our Judgement Day comes.
“Hear me, all of you, and understand.
Nothing that enters one from outside can defile that person; but the things that come out from within are what defile.” This part of the scripture reflection stuck out to me because I feel that it is saying that nothing from the outside that enters in you will harm you but the things that come out of us are the things that hurt us and others like are word and what we do to others.
I think that Jesus is trying to tell us that that nothing enters us from outside but from the inside which stands out to me by like how sin can enter from the inside but it cant enter from the outside but it will eventually get to us and then that is all we think about is that sin and then it shows because of the way we act when we think about it.We need to believe in God and trust in Him and confess our sins to Him when we need it the most.
I think God is saying that people have lots of choices in life but there is one that is the most important. The choice between God and the devil. We must always be ready and fight to do good even if it may cost our life, never give up on God just as he will never give up on us.
I think Jesus is telling me that we are all the same, made from dust and we will turn back into dust when we meet again. Jesus loves us so much and he does not have favorites, he loves everyone equally. Because therefore we all make the same mistakes, we all sin, no human being is perfect and God knows that.
“Hear me, all of you, and understand.
Nothing that enters one from outside can defile that person; but the things that come out from within are what defile.” This stood out to me because its saying that if someone says something about you it doesn’t define you but when you say something not good that will define you
“Hear me, all of you, and understand.
Nothing that enters one from outside can defile that person; but the things that come out from within are what defile.”
This stuck out to me because Jesus is telling us that we can’t judge someone by their looks but who they really are.
What stuck out to me was how evil comes from within. It not other fault for what we do its our own choice. God gave us free will for a reason and we need to use it right.
God is trying to tell me that when I meet a new person, I should not judge them based on their attitude, looks, or what they say or do. It’s about what they have inside. Their heart, and soul, who knows, they could be such a nice person if you get to know them and talk to them. Jesus wants us to be kind and willing to others and to never judge just like he never judged. God is good!
i think Jesus is telling us that heaven and hell started because of our hearts and minds. God gave us free will which gives us the ability to love, judge, and decide our path. “NOTHING THAT ENTERS ONE FROM OUTSIDE CAN DEFILE THAT PERSON; BUT THE THINGS THAT COME OUT FROM WITHIN ARE WHAT DEFILE.” This part struck me because our mind and heart decides were we go after we die.
“But what comes out of the man, that is what defiles him.” This stuck out to me because we always compare ourselves to others but we should really be comparing ourselves to ourselves. We need to judge ourselves because we are what is holding ourselves back. We need to watch what we say because that is how we get labeled. We don’t want to be labeled as the gossiper or someone who backstabs. We want to be labeled as someone that is kind.
If we dont have faith in Jesus then the devil is gonna be able to control us. We need Jesus to protect us from the devil so we must pray to him if we want to get into heaven.
Nothing that enters one from outside can defile that person; but the things that come out from within are what defile. this stuck out to me because it proves that no matter how beautiful you are on the outside its the inside that matters.
We are all sinners but we decide the choices we make. We all sin but we need to learn from our sins.
We go to heaven or to hell by indulgence. Be that ours or other people’s. We have to watch what we do so we don’t sin.
We must choose to do what’s right. God gave us free will so we can do anything good or bad. We must choose this we must choose to do good for the love of Him. When we choose what is right we become closer to God through this we can have a deep meaningful relationship with Him.
