“Woe also to you scholars of the law! You impose on people burdens hard to carry, but you yourselves do not lift one finger to touch them.” LK 11:46
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Prayer Prompt before reading LK 11:42-46: Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father and God the Son are so that I may know who I am.
Today, Jesus continues to be eating with the Pharisees and the Scholars of the Law. He is denouncing their actions because they have become corrupt. The question to consider so we do not become like the Pharisee or Scholar of the Law is this, as we lay the heavy burden of the Law on others, do we help them bear it? Jesus brings compassion to the 10 commandments and comes to show us that He is here to help us carry the burden. “My yoke is easy and burden is light” MT 11:30
Jesus is the Law of Moses and comes to show us that love likes to suffer. Suffering brings joy and “there is no greater love than to lay one’s life down for one’s friends”. JN 15:13
Finally, when were you touched by Christ through the Church? When were you healed? What was your conversion experience like? How did Jesus through the Church heal your infirmities and take your sin upon Himself? When you invited Jesus into your pain and suffering to bear it with you, what happened?
Be a servant, become a saint today!
