Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.

Jesus said to his Apostles:
“As you go, make this proclamation:
‘The Kingdom of heaven is at hand.’
Cure the sick, raise the dead,
cleanse the lepers, drive out demons.
Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give.
Do not take gold or silver or copper for your belts;
no sack for the journey, or a second tunic,
or sandals, or walking stick.
The laborer deserves his keep.
Whatever town or village you enter, look for a worthy person in it,
and stay there until you leave.
As you enter a house, wish it peace.
If the house is worthy,
let your peace come upon it;
if not, let your peace return to you.
Whoever will not receive you or listen to your words
go outside that house or town and shake the dust from your feet.
Amen, I say to you, it will be more tolerable
for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment
than for that town.” MT 10:7-15

Would you open your door to a complete stranger proclaiming, “The Kingdom of God is at hand”?  Me either! Just imagine the whining the Apostles did at this request.  Jesus’s message comes to us usually through a parent, grandparent, friend, priest, or religion teacher.  Do we open the door of our minds and souls to this important message?  Jesus does not have many kind words to those who do not receive His message of salvation.  Salvation continues to be at hand ever since Jesus died and rose from the dead.  The Apostles do receive the power to cure, raise from the dead, cleanse those with disease, and drive out demons.  This certainly raised some eyebrows.  These miracles often come with receiving Jesus into our hearts, but also have been given to specific people for their missionary purpose.  Jesus’s promise is peace upon us if we accept His message.  We are very good at accepting all kinds of information from the Internet, at school, from our parents and friends, but the most important information we need is the Word of God.  Jesus is the Word made Flesh.  It is welcoming news to anyone who accepts themselves as a sinner who needs God’s mercy.  Actually, we cannot become the person we were created to be and get to heaven without it.

Today’s challenge: Take “The Kingdom of God is at hand” seriously.  Allow God into your heart and allow Jesus to transform you.  Read and reread the information given to us by the most loving Person in the universe.  Then, enjoy the peace in your life now and in eternal life.

Be a servant, become a saint!
