Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.

Jesus said to his disciples:
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets.
I have come not to abolish but to fulfill.
Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away,
not the smallest letter or the smallest part of a letter
will pass from the law,
until all things have taken place.
Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments
and teaches others to do so
will be called least in the Kingdom of heaven.
But whoever obeys and teaches these commandments
will be called greatest in the Kingdom of heaven.”  MT 5:17-19

After Jesus teaches us the beatitudes, He compares those who obey or disobey them to least and greatest in the Kingdom of heaven.  He adds that whoever leads others to break these commandments will be least in the Kingdom.  Uh oh, I’m in trouble.  I have disobeyed some of the beatitudes several times.  Thank God for love and mercy.  Perseverance in the beatitudes or ways to holiness must be what we strive for each day.  By persistent prayer, graces through a faithful sacramental life, loving God and others in our words and deeds, we will grow closer to Him.  As we grow closer to Him we will desire Him even more until we desire nothing more reaching heaven.  Recognizing my need for God instead of depending on myself must grow, my pride must be replaced with humility, my impurity to purity, mercy for others the way God has mercy on me must improve, my desire for righteousness or a more resolute heart must increase, mourning, compassion, love.  Love encapsulates all of them.  God first, then others.  Jesus is telling us the beatitudes are very important in our journey to heaven.  They are the stepping stones to our heavenly home.  Trust Him and begin to fight or continue it!

Today’s challenge: Do something today that requires obedience.  Train yourself to obey.  Trust God when temptation grabs a hold of you and don’t give in.

Be a servant, become a saint!
