Humbly submit to the will of God today (thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven), consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.

Jesus said to his disciples:
“You are the salt of the earth.
But if salt loses its taste, with what can it be seasoned?
It is no longer good for anything
but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
You are the light of the world.
A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden.
Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket;
it is set on a lampstand,
where it gives light to all in the house.
Just so, your light must shine before others,
that they may see your good deeds
and glorify your heavenly Father.” Mt. 5:13-16

After Jesus shows us the way to sanctity (sainthood/heaven) and how to be happy by imitating Him in the beatitudes, he empowers us with a mission/purpose. We are to be the “salt of the earth” the “light of the world”. Jesus is the light, He left and gave us the Holy Spirit, so that we would be the light for others. Light overcomes darkness (sin/death). If a non-Christian sees you, would they want to be like you? The Catholic faith in the very beginning was spread in many ways, but what made it spread the most and stand firm against the test of time was the example of Jesus Christ. ”Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father.” Mt. 5:16
Good deeds and a life full of joy must be the center of our every day actions. It starts with a strong prayer life and it ends each day exhausted knowing you did everything you could to be in service to others and love.

Today’s challenge: Simply, do good deeds and avoid bad ones! Profound right! Then give all the glory to God who rightly deserves it and has given you the means to accomplish it.

Be a servant, become a saint!
