Humbly submit your will to God and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Jesus said to his disciples:
“Suppose one of you has a friend
to whom he goes at midnight and says,
‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,
for a friend of mine has arrived at my house from a journey
and I have nothing to offer him,’
and he says in reply from within,
‘Do not bother me; the door has already been locked
and my children and I are already in bed.
I cannot get up to give you anything.’
I tell you, if he does not get up to give him the loaves
because of their friendship,
he will get up to give him whatever he needs
because of his persistence.
“And I tell you, ask and you will receive;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks, receives;
and the one who seeks, finds;
and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
What father among you would hand his son a snake
when he asks for a fish?
Or hand him a scorpion when he asks for an egg?
If you then, who are wicked,
know how to give good gifts to your children,
how much more will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit
to those who ask him?”
Today, Jesus reminds us to ask God for whatever we need physically or spiritually. Yesterday, Jesus taught us how to approach the Father in prayer through the Our Father prayer which has the 7 petitions to ask God the Father for everything we need (7 is the number of perfection in the Bible). Today, I want you to reflect on what you’re asking for. What we want or what God has in store for us. Do we know what God wants for us or made us for. Jesus is letting us know today that the Father will take good care of us if we allow Him to. We must rest in His arms and allow Him to love us.
Jesus tells us if we seek the Truth (God) we will find Him. If we ask the Father for the Holy Spirit, He will give it to us. Even though God knows what you will be asking for, He wants you to ask, to make a friendship with Him, to allow Him to be your Father and help you. Jesus is with you in your prayer, He cries with you in your suffering, He rejoices with you when you feel sorrow for your sin and ask for forgiveness for this is why He died.
Remember, you may not receive what you are asking for if it is not God’s will. He may be asking you to carry a cross to purify your soul in preparation for heaven or He may be testing your faithfulness to Him. He knows you and loves you more than you know and love yourself. He knows how to help you gain salvation. He wants you to participate in your salvation. Accept it with open arms and be ready to ask for His grace for the battle.
“God knows you better than you know yourself, God loves you more than you love yourself, God wants you to know His Will.” -Fr. Mike Schmitz
Today’s challenge: Allow God to help you, pray, seek, ask!
Be a servant, become a saint!
#Christian YOLO
In today’s reading Jesus teaches us how to ask for spiritual and physical items or like wishes that we want help with or need to be given in order to stay in our faith. But the hard thing to remember is that God isn’t just going to give us what we want but we have to stay consistent with our prayers and doing the little deeds that will get us to heaven.
What reached out to me was when Jesus said, “seek and you will find”. What this means to me is that our faith is not easy, and it can’t be one sided. I think that what Jesus is telling us here is that if we want to grow closer to God we can’t just go through a normal daily routine, we have to pray and use the Sacraments to help us seek Jesus.
If we ask God for graces he will give us graces but we want to want it not just ask but really want it he telling us ask and you shall receive Jesus is wanting us to ask him for stuff like graces and he loves us so much that he would do that for us.
Jesus provides. He is always there when you need Him. In your sorrow and joy He stays with you. Sometimes we forget that Jesus is there. We let rage and depression build until we dissolve in a torrent of rage and sorrow. We forget that all we need to do is knock. He loves us so dearly and wants to be with us. We also need to listen. A conversation goes both ways. Tell Him your sorrow and pain and then sit with Him. You cannot hear someone if you are constantly talking over them. So sit in His love and peace and offer up your pain.
I think Jesus is saying you aren’t a good friend if he isn’t willing to help but if he is willing to help he is a good friend.
One phrase that stuck out to me is And I tell you, ask and you will receive seek and you will find knock and the door will be opened to you. This phrase really sticks out to me because I fell that it is the most powerful to me. Jesus say’s that we need to keep the friendship with that friend and God because they will always help when we need. That is why if you knock it shall be open to you.
What i am getting from this is that in this world their is good people but also bad people that are in a bad place. We don’t know what type of people we will meet through out or life and sometime we will go into the wrong path but later make our way to the right one.
Ask and you shall recieve. Seek and you shall find. Knock and the door will be opened to you. If we believe in Christ, whatever we need shall be given to us. If we ask God, He will give us what we need.
God will always be here for you when you ask for help. But, he can’t give everything you want. You can’t ask for a million dollars and get it. Ask him for peace, relaxation, and to make you feel loved. When you ask him for this he will give you an abundance of those graces. Sometimes, God asks you for help. He asks you to pray to him everyday, and come to him in your darkest hour. He gives you so much in life and life itself. Why won’t you help him when he helps you so much?
Jesus tells us that we need to come to God and open up to Him. We need to talk to God like our friend and create a relationship with Him. We can always talk to Him if we need something. Although God is not a machine, we can ask Him for things we need and He can help us. We just need to talk to God and spend time with Him.
In this Gospel, Jesus gives a parable about a person who needs food because an unexpected guest came to his house. The guy goes to his friend’s house and is persistent and then he gets the food. Jesus wants us to be persistent. If we really want something then we’ll be persistent. If we ask then we shall receive because we have a good loving father. Our father will always provide and take care of us.
“And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” Jesus is literally telling us that we have to at least try to find Him, try at a relationship with. As long as we try He will answer us but we have to be the ones trying.
“And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” God wants us to be in Heaven with Him. We need to believe in Him, and strive to be with Him, and we will be. Treat your neighbor as you would want to be treated: one of the many things God asks us to do. If we do as He says, we will have eternal life with Him.
to mosly geve evring to mine and nevre give up jesus is all was witha us
Open our hearts to God. If we want a relationship with God, we must be willing to ask him for it. Like the relationships we have with others, we have to be able to build a relationship with God. It doesn’t just happen. You have to work for it. All you really need to do to have a relationship with Him is pray. Prayer is just talking to God, it’s not much different from having a conversation with your dad after school. And just like our parents, we have to grow bonds with them.
Today’s scripture passage is very powerful. One of the main meanings I took from this is that we HAVE to seek God. He is so open to us, and we just ignore him. He wants us, he needs us. We need Him. We have to have Him, he is our only and true happiness. Jesus is our Savior and we have to acknowledge that. We need to get out of our tiny bubble, and find our true Lord. Snap chat, and tiktok is our true God. Seek something that can actually get you somewhere, Heaven.
“ask and you shall recieve.” he wants us to ask him continously for needs. i think that he wants us to ask him and you shall find what you are looking for. if you don’t ask you will never recieve. if you never seek out what you are looking for, you will never find it. he wants us to ask.
We have to find him he doesnt find us he already did now its our turn to find him. Even if theres smoke, fog, a fire, or anything you must still seek because the devil is trying to stop us we must still look no matter how hard it is. That will lead us to heaven true happiness is waiting but we must take our time to find God we must be patient.
today’s gospel was powerful and what struck me was this “And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. What father among you would hand his son a snake when he asks for a fish? Or hand him a scorpion when he asks for an egg? this struck me because we ask for so many things today that we lose sight of the only thing we really need: god.
Today reading is very important, its just like when we pray we ask God for more, In the reading it says: ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread. Seek and you will find is a very important phrase in this passage It helps us realize God is trying to tell us something.
Jesus is always there to provide for you. When you need him He’s there. We need Him and He wants us, most of the time we just ignore him. But if we do listen to him then we will be truly happy.
Jesus is a very wise man. (I mean obviously He’s Jesus.) When He is talking about the friend not going to get the bread because of their friendship, it makes me want to make sure that I am a good friend and I will help my friends when they need help. When Jesus is talking about, “Those who knock, it shall be opened unto them.” That stuff, I feel like he’s talking about Heaven. I mean what else could he be talking about, The White House! No. He’s talking about Heaven. Or at least I feel that way because look what Jesus says. “And I tell you, ask and you will receive;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks, receives;
and the one who seeks, finds;
and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
So what else could he be talking about. I mean he does bring up the Holy Spirit but I don’t think that he’s what He’s talking about.
We need to find God for him to come into our lives. We also need to accept him into our hears and sacrifice some of our time out of the day to talk to him and let his in. “Seek and you will find ” We can’t just expect God to come to us we also need to find God through our everyday lives. The door is always open we just need to go into the door.
“And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find;cknock and the door will be opened to you.cFor everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” Jesus tells us this because not many ask him for a miracle, but God wants us to ask more of him, God wants us to go to heaven so we can be with him eternity. God wants us to ask us for things, but God doesn’t always do that, I suppose he does that because he knows what we will need. He knows what will help us and what will hurt us.
Jesus said seek and you will find, to me it means that our faith is not easy. It won’t seem fun or exciting but the reward of eternal happiness is all anyone wants. The reward of Heaven is all we ever want so why are we afraid of dying? If we love God, then why are we afraid to show it?
The thing that stuck out to me was “Ask and you shall receive.” I think it means that if we don’t ask God for help he will not give it to us. That is why we have to talk to God because we need to ask for help because humans are nothing compared to God. We can’t add anything to God only God can add stuff to us. We have to talk more to God so we can ask for help we are sinners and we will always be sinners so you have to ask for forgiveness. We need God. Even if we don’t think of God, God is always thinking about us because he loves us so much even though we don’t derserve it. That is why we have to be grateful for God’s love and go to mass.
One thing that stuck out to me is when God said, “And I tell you, ask and you will receive;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks, receives;
and the one who seeks, finds;
and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
This stuck out to me because I feel like its trying to say if we just try to find Him in the little things we do or things we need and we ask him for help and aren’t afraid to come and ask and give ourselves to him He will give us anything. Just like he gave His life up for us the sinners that need him He doesn’t need us he was the one who crated us! imagine what it would be like if their was no one that we could just say his name and he will listen and wont die for us their would be no one their would be nothing.
“Ask and you shall receive.” If you want a relationship with God then we have to ask him for it. And he wants us to ask him and we will find what we are looking for.
”Ask and you shall receive.” ”seek and you will find.” ”knock and it will be open unto you.” ”Ask and you shall receive.”God doesn’t want us to go to him not believing,only going to him for wants,for bad things.He wants us to believe in him and only ask about the important stuff that he truly wants to answer,like for help to follow and belief in him,not”Oh,i want to take over the world i dont believe in you but help me!”God wants us to listen and follow.
“Remember, you may not receive what you are asking for if it is not God’s will. He may be asking you to carry a cross to purify your soul in preparation for heaven or He may be testing your faithfulness to Him. He knows you and loves you more than you know and love yourself. He knows how to help you gain salvation. He wants you to participate in your salvation. Accept it with open arms and be ready to ask for His grace for the battle.” Meaning you might not get the things you ask for if it is not God’s will. Be ready to ask for his grace.
When we love God and follow His ways and pray to Him, He will answer our prayers and give to us what is best. He loves us so much and just wants what is best for us. “Ask and you shall receive,” applies to God and His love for us, but we must follow His rules and love him in order for that
The Gospel today is about asking and receiving it tells us in the Gospel were not always going to receive what we want and not always get our way but that’s okay
What I think this scripture is telling me is that the door is never closed to Heavan and God, God is alwalys free he always has time for us and he gives us all of him and we dont let him do that sometimes.
If we ask God for graces he will give us graces but we want to want it not just ask but really want it he telling us ask and you shall receive Jesus is wanting us to ask him for stuff like graces and he loves us so much that he would do that for us.
If we ask the father for the Holy Spirit, he will give it to us. If we seek the Truth we will find Jesus. “Seek and you will find” means that if we ask God for something, and if he wants us to have it, he will give it to us.
I tell you, ask and you will receive;
seek and you will find;
“ask and you will receive” is a good way of telling us and reminding us that a good relationship with God is not simply given, but you must ask him for it, and you will get it
In this God teaches us that he will always provide for you in some way as long as you love him he will always provide for you. I tell you, if he does not get up to give him the loaves because of their friendship he will get up to give him whatever he needs because of his persistence.
This Part also stuck out to me becasue if your friend wont get what you ask because of your friendship keep asking and God will still provide.
What stuck out to me is that We must rest in God’s arms and allow Him to love us. This stuck out to me because sometimes we feel too tired to pray or even try to talk with God But in order to become closer to him we have to at least try. Another thing that stuck out to me is to Remember, you may not receive what you are asking for if it is not God’s will. This teaches me that not everything we want is actually good sometimes its better to not get what you want.
“And I tell you, ask and you will receive;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks, receives;
and the one who seeks, finds;
and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
What father among you would hand his son a snake
when he asks for a fish?
Or hand him a scorpion when he asks for an egg?
If you then, who are wicked,
know how to give good gifts to your children,
how much more will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit
to those who ask him?”
Today God is telling us to ask him for things we need not like shoes and that type of things but petitions like for someones healing. He tells us that “And I tell you, ask and you will receive;seek and you will find;knock and the door will be opened to you.For everyone who asks, receives;and the one who seeks, finds;and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” He tells us that we are not alone he is always their if we pray and ask him.
And I tell you, ask and you will receive;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks, receives; Jesus is telling us the door (gates of Heaven) will be opened to us only if we ask.
“And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. This part really stuck out to me because I feel like it’s telling us that if we want God we have to seek and we will find him but if we don’t seek him we will never find him.
“He may be asking you to carry a cross to purify your soul in preparation for heaven or He may be testing your faithfulness to Him.”
its okay to ask God for help and to let him take help you with your life and just talk to him when you need it.
if we ask for something he will give it to us like the holy spirit he will give us if we ask or if you allow him to love you he will.
When Jesus says ” knock and the door will be opened to you For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. ” He means that he wants you to come to him and try and he will always open his arms to you. he will never say no, never lock the door on you, never leave you out in the cold or rain. He will always let you in. He WANTS you in with him. He wants a relationship with you. He WANTS you. You can always ask him for something. He will always give to you, sometimes in a way you never expected. He says whoever seeks finds. We have to look for God. God will always let himself out of the shadows to greet us. He wants us to find him. Hes not like the devil, who hides and doesn’t want to be found, but heard. God wants to be found and heard and loved.
“seek and you will find” stuck out to me because Jesus is telling us that we have to pray and try to find God and not go through our day like normal, because our faith is not going to be exiting if you don’t try to understand it.
What stood out to me was that Jesus wants to have a friendship with us. He wants to be there for us, wants to be part of our family and in our lives. That is just so cool. He would even go as far as to cry with us and rejoice with us when we admit to doing something and trying our best to make up for it.
In this scripture reading today, I was reminded of something important. You can ´ t expect to receive from someone you refused to give to. In the prayer of St. Francis, it specifically says, ¨ It is in giving that we receive ¨. I think that we all are sometimes meant to sacrifice in life, especially when it ´ s hard. The more we do here on earth, the more we will RECEIVE in Heaven. So whatever we all choose to do with our life, we just need to make sure we take time to give to people. The more we give, the more we will receive.
“seek and you will find” stuck out to me because Jesus is telling us that we have to pray and try to find God and not go through our day like normal, because our faith is not going to be exciting if you don’t try to understand it.
ask and you will receive; seek and you will find I would ask for things from God
“You may not receive what you ask for if it is not God’s will.” God wants us to make it to heaven. Some things we ask for are not what we need and only God knows what is right for us.
Life isn´t fair and even if you want something you always have to work for it. Nothing in life is an easy get and no give. Itś I give and have to get what I want. Nothing, nothing ever in your life or time is i take, that is sin. You take without giving back is stealing.
what this means to me is god gives you options you choose to believe or you chose to not believe no matter what you choose god will still chase you he will ALWAYS leave the 99 to find the one lost sheep. nothing you do will ever make jesus stop loving you. knock and the door will be opend this means either show up pray, read the bible be holy but dont do this just because but do this because you want to or need to. no matter wich path you choose he WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU UNCONDITIONTLY.
you are enough.
Beautiful, Ava!
We ask God for things we need. He will listen sometimes and he gives us what we need in unexpected ways. God always has his door open to us anywhere anytime.
I feel like the Gospel today is telling us to ask. Ask of Him, and if it is good, He will give. We as humans never really like to admit we need help. We want to prove that we can do things on our own. And some things we can. But we will always need God’s help. Ask Him for help, ask him for the little things. He will give. He is ready to give. We just need to ask.
Great wisdom, Quin!
This scripture is about how we can receive all things we want but we have to ask God. Not just say you want it but actually pray and talk to him. as he says “all who ask will receive”
Jesus tells us today that we need to open up. When we open up people will accept us. He tells us to ask and you shall receive so we can’t be scared to say things to people. If we ask God for some help in something he will give that help for you because you asked and you will receive.
I think today’s scripture passage is trying to tell us that God is always there for us and is always open to helping us, but He can’t give us everything we want or ask for.
Jesus tells us that the father will give us all we need. if you ask you will receive what you ask for might not come in the way you would expect its not just going to suddenly fix every thing in your life and a million dollars isn’t just going to appear in front of you. what you ask for will come in smaller ways but when you look back on your life you will see.
Great wisdom, Ronan! Beyond your years!
The Scripture is saying that God will always love you no matter what. If you need something He would go out of his way to get it for you.
“And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” we look in all the wrong places. Sometimes we need to look right in front of us god is everywhere. we need to look for god and the good things in life.
What this is saying it that we need to go to God. We must know that we can open up to him about anything he will always be there to listen. We have a choice thought whether we choose to open up to him and talk with him or not. He will ALWAYS be there to help us and we must know that.
if you are bad you will not recieve what you are looking for but if you have the patience you wil get what you are seekinging. that why they say patience is a virtue if you knock at the door of Gods house you will be accepted but if you live a bad life full of sin you will be turned away and the door will not be opened to you.
“And I tell you, ask and you will receive;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks, receives;
and the one who seeks, finds;
and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” He wants YOU. He wants you to seek for Him. “Knock and the door will be opened to you.” He loves everyone and invites everyone in. “For everyone who seeks, finds” Everyone that seeks finds the the loves of God!
What stood out to me was, “seek and you will find.” It stood out to me because we need to find God in our own lives, in the Eucharist, and in the church. God is here for us. When it’s time we’ll find Him. We don’t need to rush things. In time He will be present to us. He loves us and He forgives us. Seek and you will find HIM!
It is telling us that Jesus is always there for us and we should always make time for him.
Jesus is basically telling us that if you follow his and listen to the Lord you life will change and all your questions will be answered. The Lord is waiting for you to make a commitment. He is with us always and we just have to remember that if we follow the Lord and listen to the Gospels our lives will change forever. Jesus Loves you!
I think this gospel is saying that we need to seek Jesus to find Him. We need to pray daily to find Him. Praying is talking and having a conversation with Jesus. Don’t we think that would be easy? Yes, it is easy, but this world is too focused on their phone or TV. If you have trouble praying just ask God for His grace and he will give it to you. All you have to do is talk to Him. It’s not complicated
Something that stuck out to me was. “God knows you more than yourself”’. That means that God knows what’s right for you and that’s being a child of God. He knows everything about everything that is going to happen to you. So trust in God and his plan for you.
“He will get up to give him whatever he needs because of his persistence” Jesus wants us to persist in prayer. We need to keep praying even if it feels like God isn’t answering our prayers. All will be fulfilled in His time.
You are spot on Jacob, great wisdom!
“And I tell you, ask and you will receive;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks, receives;
and the one who seeks, finds;
and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
I think we need to remember this part of the scripture because Jesus keeps trying and knocking at the door to be given loaves of bread. The man ends up opening the door to him with three loaves. This is how we need to be in prayer to God. Be that annoying buzz that Jesus wants and adores. It doesn’t just help Jesus it helps us get closer to Him and that’s what he wants us to do.
In today’s scripture Jesus talks to us about how to ask him for stuff. We can ask for physical or spiritual things but we have to remember that he is not a slot machine, so even if we ask for something does not mean that we will get it. That is why we have to keep on praying and keep on coming back to him. We can’t ask once and then get mad if he does not give it to us. Humanity is very greedy and we all have big egos, but Jesus teaches us how to overcome those things. He knows we aren’t perfect, but we have to realize that we have to put effort in to get anything out of it. It is not about us, it is about him.
I think the scripture is saying God will give us what we need when we ask, but if we ask for something wicked or impure He will not provide it. We should not use God like a slot machine, but we should always come to Him for both wisdom and to be helped. Many of us don’t ask for help when we need it, but when we ask we can receive the help we need from our teachers, God, our parent and even our older or younger siblings.
This scripture what i think it is talking about it how we are the friend that wont wake up in the middle of the night for your friend who has been traveling a lot and Jesus is the friend who want the food and i think this is teaching us how we should give more to our prayers and how we should try to get closer to Jesus and how we should not just pertending o pray to Jesus and how we should get to know him.
“And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” I think Jesus is trying to tell us that no matter how much we are struggling He will help and listen to us, we need to stop looking for answers because the answer is Him. We also need to stop being scared because even God said ” ask and you will receive.” He is telling us to just talk to Him but yet some still ignore Him.
I think the Gospel is saying you must open your heart and mind to be able to here God so you can grow closer to him.
Jesus desires to give you what you need. The key there is need. God will give anything you ask for if it is in accordance with His Will. Jesus desires to be part of your life and to give you all your needs. “Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened for you.” Jesus will help. He will give you what you truly need. So ask! Pray and listen. Jesus will be with you every step of the way.
In todays scripture it says “seek and you will find”. What I got out of that phrase was that in order to experience God and his works we need to be reaching out. You aren’t going to be able to see the works of God if you don’t open your eyes and heart to see or feel them. You have to get over yourself and accept him into your life. Once you accept God into your life, you truly start to see the good works of the world.
When we pray to God, what we ask for is not always granted. The title of the scripture is “ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE; SEEK AND YOU SHALL FIND,” but in the story, the man didn’t grant his friend loaves of bread immediately. “He will get up to give him whatever he needs because of his persistence,” this quote can be interpreted as God telling us that if we’re persistent then our pleas will be heard.
This means that if you ask the Lord forgiveness he shall give it to you
In today’s Gospel I learned that we should give to the needs of others. In the Gospel I recognized that we should be willing to get up and get people food, clothing, or anything someone may need. We never will know exactly what someone is going through and if a little act of generosity can help it can make a difference. “Seek and you will find.” This really stuck out to me because believing in God may be hard. If we seek then we will find Christ. Seeking does not mean actually running around your house or playground to find Jesus, but to pray and realize that God will answer you if you try to seek him. And at the end of the day you will find him because he has already found each and every one of us.
What stuck out to me was ” Ask and you shall receive; seek and you shall find.” If we ask Jesus for something He will always provide. Jesus will always provide. Even if we sin Jesus will still provide. Jesus will provide because He loves us. Even if we were the last person on Jesus would still die on a cross for us. We can fail Jesus time and time again but He will always love us.
“What father among you would hand his son a snake when he asks for a fish? Or hand him a scorpion when he asks for an egg?” That phrase in the Gospel stuck out. To me, it means that we should help others when they ask for it. God is trying to tell us that it is wrong to set someone up for failure by giving them wrong advice. Even then, as God says “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:40 He is telling us that if we help someone in need, then we are helping Him. He also says that “In everything, do to others what you would have them do to you” from Matthew 7:12. From this, we can think, when we help people, we’re helping God so from that, good will come to us.
“If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?” God the Father will give us what we ask for. He will give us love, grace, faith, happiness, anything in our time of need, for he is the greatest of all fathers.
We can’t just sit and wait for God to open the door for us. If we just sit on earth waiting and not trying to get closer to Him, we won’t get closer to Him. We have to keep knocking on the door of Heaven over, and over until it is open. You would think that the constant pestering would annoy the lord, but that is what He wants. God wants us to be constantly asking, loving and knocking. We can’t be afraid to ask or do things out of our comfort zone because God will call you to do things you don’t want to, but by doing those things one lock on the door will be unlocked. If you persevere and keep being persistent eventually all the locks will be unlocked, and the door to heaven will be wide open to you. Want. Love. Never Stop. God loves you, NEVER forget that
It is saying that if someone helps us, we need to repay them with kindness instead of ignoring them. Jesus is always here for us and He tries His best to give us everything we want and all He is asking us is just a simple prayer that we can pray every morning and night. If we can’t give Jesus a simple prayer then how are we supposed to help anyone.
This scripture is talking about how we need to open our hearts to Jesus and let him in and also to let God help us. Even if that help doesn’t come automatically and plentifully, we cannot lose faith. God loves us and we need to let him into our hearts so that he can give us the help and things that we need. At the same time we cannot just wait for him to do everything for us, we need to be the ones to open our hearts and we have to be the ones to actually accept him into our hearts. He loves us and we should love him back. We should not lose hope because something does not go our way.
Great wisdom, Rachel! So good to hear from you, I hope your year is going well, I miss you guys!
he will get up to give him whatever he needs
because of his persistence. This is like God he keeps knocking on our door asking for our love waiting for us to give him some.
Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,
for a friend of mine has arrived at my house from a journey
and I have nothing to offer him,’ This is what hit me today, this person isn’t even asking for himself he’s asking for his friend! Then the person he is asking shuts him down just because he was tired. Jesus laid down his life and we couldn’t spare bread for a friend. I think what this Gospel is telling us is that Jesus gave his life and we can give a little to the people who need it.
I think this means that when you ask for something in prayer its not going to be answered right away. It will be answered but not right then. We need to learn to be patient and just listen to God. He will always answer.
You may not receive what you ask for but that does not mean you should stop asking. If you pray hard enough and long enough you will get what you wish for. God will not just instantly give you what you want. You should always pray for people hurting there won’t be a 100% chance of healing just because you prayed but it will go up even if it is just a 0.00001% chance. God also hears all prayers so if you feel like you are being ignored you should try to meditate or pray and silence
Some people are afraid to ask God for forgiveness because they are afraid they are too far from Him. But some people who ask for forgiveness and don’t give forgiveness need to change before they truly ask for forgiveness.
I think God is telling me that he is always there to love us and we just need to open the door for him. If God will give us all we ask for as long as we love him and keep in mind that when we die we wont take anything with us. In the end we will have God and heaven will be the only thing we will ever need. In summary if we open the door to God and love him with all of our heart soul and mind we will be very happy.
I think that this passage is telling us to have faith. Jesus tells us ” Whoever has faith the size of a mustard seed will be able to move mountains.” We always tend to get caught up in the normal day to day activities that we forget the supernatural. When we ask continuously, and with faith, God listens, and responds. But he does not poof the solution into existence right before our eyes, he works in little, out of the ordinary ways. We ask and ask, but we need to remember that God is not a coin bank to put requests in. He is gosh darn GOD and he knows litterally everything. He knows what is good, and what is evil. If it is his will, and we have faith, we need to remember to keep our eyes open to signs.” You do not know the day nor hour which the bridegroom is coming.”
Jesus is letting us know today that the Father will take good care of us if we allow Him to. We must rest in His arms and allow Him to love us. We need to trust In God to take our lives into his hands and remember we are loved by him and he will forever forgive us. He loves us unconditionally and the love for us will never end.
This reminds me that we need to trust in god more often and to never give up on god even in your worst times .
“And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?”
When Jesus says this he says that we are God’s children and he will do anything for us much like our parents would for us.Whatever it is physical or spiritual God will do it you just have to pray, seek, and ask and listen for God.
He knows you and loves you more than you know and love yourself. He knows how to help you gain salvation. He wants you to participate in your salvation. Accept it with open arms and be ready to ask for His grace for the battle.
To me this means that he loves us more than we love him or anything else. No one can love him more.
Christ said “Ask and you shall receive.” God loves us and he will give us what we ask for. We asked for forgiveness and he gave us his only begotten son to die on the cross for us. This shows how loving God is. God will always provide for you even if it is a little different than what you expected.
You may not receive what you are asking for if it is not God’s will. Jesus taught us how to approach the Father in prayer through the Our Father prayer which has the 7 petitions to ask God the Father for everything we need.Jesus is letting us know today that the Father will take good care of us if we allow Him to. We must rest in His arms and allow Him to love us. He may be asking you to carry a cross to purify your soul in preparation for heaven or He may be testing your faithfulness to Him. He knows you and loves you more than you know and love yourself. We must rest in His arms and allow Him to love us.
Your response is very thoughtful and wise, good job!
It is never impossible. God wants us to ask, no matter if we think it is important or not. It reminds me of the song “Seek Ye First” because this is what the song is written about. If we think that God doesn’t care about the little things, we are wrong. He loves it when we ask for WHATEVER we need. Even if it seems unimportant, it is important to Him.
Great wisdom in your reflection, Beth! Good Job!
What I heard from this passage is that we can ask God for anything and if it is not his will we will not receive.I also heard that God will be with us through our sufferings and that he loves us no matter what he will always love us he would not give us something bad he will always give us something good.
“Ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” This stuck out to me because if we ask God for grace or relief from something he will give it to us. He will only give it to us if we really mean it and are not just trying to use God. Also if we seek God he will reveal himself to us, if we don’t seek God will hide from us in a way. If we knock on the door to Heaven the door will be open to us, if we don’t and try to avoid Heaven then the door will remain shut. If we love God he will provide for us if we don’t he will still be there for us but he will not reveal himself to us.
God wants us to ask Him for whatever we need physically and spiritually. HOWEVER we can’t think that he will answer in an instant or if its not God’s will. And God always knows what we mean.
Josef, this is great wisdom! Great job!
tis scripture tells us that we can always lean on Jesus for help. We can ask and will receive, seek and will fide, because he is always their for us. Jesus never says this will be easy we must be open to Gods will and follow his path, because if you ask God for you to get a better job or something he’s not going to do it unless its in his plan for you.
This scripture tells us to ask God for help, he’s not a stranger and will help you whenever you need Him. But no one said you could just simply ask God to grant your with for a pony, no God doesn’t listen to your wants He listens to our needs. God loves his creation more than anything, but He is love and love isn’t pleasure love is needing someone to lean on.
“I tell you, if he does not get up to give him the loaves because of their friendship, he will get up to give him whatever he needs because of his persistence.” It tells us that we should be givving people what they need. We should not keep our gives to ourselves, but share them to the world. We shold be like Christ and keep on giving untill we can give no more. When we live a holy life like this we will live a joyous life.
The scripture is telling us that God is asking for us. We should answer him. Answering him will give us what we need.
“And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” This means that we can trust Jesus with our hearts and our love. Jesus loves us even if we sin.
What stuck out to me is the saying, “seek and you shall find”. This did because you have to try and find God in Jesus to actually understand him. If we don’t try to find him we will never be with him in heaven. This little phrase means so much and we have to understand this. This is why it’s important to me.
Jesus is always there to help you he may not give you all you ask for but hes always there
We need to ask God for miracles and what we need. We cannot be afraid or too lazy to pray and ask God
Ask and you shall receive is a very important saying all you need to do is ask him do not be afraid ask that’s all you have to do.
And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks,finds.Why i liked this part of the scripture is because it says if we ask God he will give it to us.
Because he wants to grow a relationship with him like father and son
Since God is such a great father to us, I think he is telling us that if we need something from him we shall ask and he shall provide for us and not let us be lonely and weak
