WHOEVER IS NOT WITH ME IS AGAINST ME
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Prayer Prompt before reading LK 11:15-26: Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father and God the Son are so that I may know who I am.
Today, Jesus is questioned after casting out a demon and then the people asked for a sign from heaven. How frustrated He must have been. He was curing the sick and lame, making the blind see, the deaf hear, casting out demons all of which were prophesied about Him, the long awaited Messiah.
Once again much like today, people miss the signs when they don’t read and reflect on the Word of God. Author Vinny Flynn says we have the Emmaus problem (2 disciples on the read to Emmaus). Jesus is truly present with us right here and we miss Him.
If Jesus were doing all of these wonders on Youtube today, many would be amazed but many would be doubting that it was real much like the people in the Gospel today. Jesus goes on to prove to them their thinking was distorted and then He says one of the most powerful lines in the Gospel, “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.”
Jesus is not divided, He divides. Peter Kreeft writes about this in his book “Jesus Shock”. There is no name that divides more than the name Jesus. There is no religious leader like Him. Why? “But if it is by the finger of God that I drive out demons, then the Kingdom of God has come upon you.” Jesus is God. This belief separates us from every other faith, this claim by Jesus divides. It requires a decision to be made by you and me. Whose side will you be on? There is no middle.
Today’s challenge: Choose sides, believe and don’t look back!
Be a servant, be a saint today!
