“YOU ALSO MUST BE PREPARED, FOR AT AN HOUR YOU DO NOT EXPECT, THE SON OF MAN WILL COME.” LK 12:39-48
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Prayer Prompt before reading LK 12:39-48: Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father and God the Son are so that I may know who I am.
Jesus mentions something very interesting today about judgment day. ”That servant who knew his master’s will but did not make preparations nor act in accord with his will shall be beaten severely.” For those souls who are educated in the ways of God and know the Scriptures, but choose to live their life against it will be punished.
“The servant who was ignorant of his master’s will but acted in a way deserving of a severe beating shall be beaten only lightly.” If a person is not educated in God’s Will, then they will not receive as bad of a punishment.
Which one are you? Do you go to a Catholic school but just see your religion class as another subject? Is religion not for you because you think it makes you look weak? Christians are dying all over the world as martyrs for Christ. He died for all, they are dying for Him. I would say that is strong and tough. Is Mass on Sundays just going through the motions and another check off on the checklist, so you can get back to your life?
Our souls are searching for authentic relationships. Today, if you haven’t yet, start one with Jesus Christ by sitting in silence and talking to Him like you would text a friend. He died to have an encounter with you and be your best friend. St. Jerome says, “Ignorance of the Gospel is ignorance of Christ.”
When is the last time you read the Bible and reflected on what God is trying to tell you? If our identity is wrapped up in the death and resurrection of Christ in our baptism, then we are called to be holy. This call requires much; it is our identity.
It is hard work to get to heaven. We can’t earn it, it is a free gift of God’s love through His Son’s sacrifice that we cannot repay, but the hard work comes in us bringing our hearts to be transformed by His grace, love, and his Word in prayer and the sacraments. “Much will be required of the person entrusted with much, and still more will be demanded of the person entrusted with more.”
We have been called, today RESPOND by opening your mind and heart to God’s Will. You will never be disappointed. Effort through your will with God’s grace increases holiness. He wants you to participate in your salvation. Get to know Christ intimately and imitate Him.
Today’s challenge: Prepare your soul for heaven by getting to know Jesus personally. Allow yourself to be transformed, so that no matter the day or the hour the master returns you will be ready.
Be a servant, be a saint today!

Going of todays challenge where I fit in the world is I believe where Jesus put me. I know at some point in time I will have a purpose in serving God and I think I do now. I am called to serve and I think no man or women is able to serve God to there full potential. God created everything so the least we can do it pray. We are made to serve, help people, Spread the Gospal, and love everybody
