Prayer Prompt before reading MT 7:21,24-27 Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray well, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father and Son are so that I may know who I am.

“NOT EVERYONE WHO SAYS TO ME, ‘LORD, LORD,’WILL ENTER THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN,BUT ONLY THE ONE WHO DOES THE WILL OF MY FATHER IN HEAVEN.” MT 7:21, 24-27

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

What is the “will of my Father”? What has been left behind for us to learn who we are in Christ? A person must read the Scriptures and Catechism to seek out the Truths Christ revealed about the will of the Father. Here we find what the Apostles, Paul, the holy women and saints with the guidance of the Holy Spirit have passed down in Scripture and Tradition.

The Catholic Church has an unbroken link of bishops who have proclaimed the Truths Jesus revealed about the “will of my Father”. If the true intention of a person’s heart is to “enter the Kingdom of heaven”, they will seek Jesus and the Truth in the Scriptures and His life that enters them through a faithful sacramental life. Fr. Barron recommends a person look at St Paul’s reading in Galatians 5 if they want to know if they are doing God’s Will.

Freedom for Service.
[j] 13 For you were called for freedom, brothers. But do not use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh; rather, serve[k] one another through love. 14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one statement, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”[l] 15 But if you go on biting and devouring one another, beware that you are not consumed by one another.

16 I say, then: live by the Spirit and you will certainly not gratify the desire of the flesh.[m] 17 For the flesh has desires against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; these are opposed to each other, so that you may not do what you want. 18 But if you are guided by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

19 [n]Now the works of the flesh are obvious: immorality, impurity, licentiousness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, rivalry, jealousy, outbursts of fury, acts of selfishness, dissensions, factions,21 occasions of envy,[o] drinking bouts, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 In contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 Now those who belong to Christ [Jesus] have crucified their flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also follow the Spirit. 26 Let us not be conceited, provoking one another, envious of one another. Gal 5:13-26

A person can see if they are doing God’s will in their lives if they see the fruits of the Spirit in their lives.

Since Jesus Christ died and resurrected, we receive the Holy Spirit and the grace of God floods our heart and soul to wash away Original Sin and sanctifies us, makes us holy. We are branded with Christ.

Holiness is perfection in God’s eyes, not doing everything perfect, being nervous about everything, worrying about everything, planning everything perfectly, but emptying self, putting on/filling ourselves up with Christ and loving all those we encounter. Also, seeking out those who need our love outside our homes and jobs. We must be holy to enter heaven, where the holiest of holies dwells.

God is complete in Himself we cannot add anything to Him. Our lives are a complete gift, offer your life back to Him, doing His work and returning to Him sanctified like the day you were baptized. Live to give Him glory who gave us everything! When we don’t, we lose the power of the Cross, Jesus’ death and resurrection for us. When we fall away from Jesus, He does not leave us. He stays planted firmly with us, waiting for us to return ready to give us love and mercy.

We have every spiritual power in us (intellect and free will), we have God in us in the Holy Spirit, we must take time to listen in silence each day to prepare for the battle that starts in our mind to what God has to say in our heart, then put on the armor of God and be ready for the battle to stay holy.

Today’s Advent challenge: Learn to be still. Sit in silence and listen to God in your heart. If the fruits of the Spirit are not present in your life, ask God what you must do to change. Be a servant, fight for holiness, become a saint!

Be a servant, become a saint!
#Christian YODO (You Only Die Once; we will live again!)

“Those who listen to my words and act on them will be like a wise man, but those who listen to my words but do not act on them will be like a foolish man.” This reminds me of priests’ homilies. When we listen to them, we need to act on them. But when we listen but do nothing, we are like the foolish man.

“For you were called for freedom, brothers. But do not use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh; rather, serve one another through love.” This stood out to me because the more we serve other people the closer we become. The same thing happens when you serve God. You grow closer to Him.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus is telling us to set up a good foundation for our faith. We get the chance to be catholic while others don’t, so take advantage of this and be a loving faithful servant of God. We need to act on what we hear, not just listen because when we listen and don’t do anything about it, that wont help us nearly as much as actually doing something about it.

God is our firm foundation! He will always be even if we don’t think that He is trying, He really is. We have to accept that God is wanting a connection with us. If we close the door on Him, He will just be waiting for us. God will never leave and just keep waiting. If I were to build my house on sand then it would blow away but on concrete and ground it wouldn’t. God is the rock and knows how to be our firm foundation!

what i think this means is that people who just say they love the lord doesnt mean they actually you need to have a connection with him and love him fully and truly and not just fake you need to listen to him and love him or we wont get to his kingdom we must show that we love him truly and not just fake it to make it because thats not how it works you need to love him

In today’s gospel the Lord says that eve when you call is name out that does not mean that you will have eternal life but if you do the father in heavens will then you will have eternal life. In the parable today Jesus listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock. Or to build your house on rock is to build your mind and spirit on God’s own words.

What really stuck out to me in the scripture was how freedom should be used to serve others, rather than using it for worldly things and taking advantage of it. “For you were called for freedom, brothers. But do not use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh; rather, serve one another through love”. I think this is a good reminder for us to not have desires against the Spirit but instead be guided by the Holy Spirit. I love how it said “Our lives are a complete gift” Because that’s so true. We should be living for Him and offering our life for him because He is the one who gave us everything.

I think God is telling us that only rightful and just will get to enter the Kingdom of Heaven because those who are not rightful and just do not follow in his footsteps for the Lord is with you and you found a good God to guide you, yet you do not listen. Why is this? Because we feel that if we do we’re gonna be different and nobody’s gonna like us. But the only person that matters is God. So if everyone likes you but He don’t like you then you need to fix something. You’ll be alright though, he will NEVER not love you. God loves you but he would like you to follow what he says, he would like you to join him in heaven and that’s only possible when you don’t care about what anyone thinks but God.

Jesus says not everyone who says “Lord Lord will enter the kingdom of Heaven, but those who do the will of my father.” One day you will be faced in front of Jesus and there is no way to go back. When you say Lord Lord look what I did, I preached the gospel, I went to Church and I read my Bible. Yes, these are all good things the absolute only way into Heaven is to fully surrender yourself to Jesus Christ. Faith without works is nothing. So yes peach the gospel and read your Bible but do those with a relationship with God and you will be saved. With Jesus as your rock nothing will prevail against you.

I like how this is worded because it tells us that if we do the will of the father. We will enter heaven. It also tells us how important it is for us to do the will of God. If we don’t we are not granted a spot in heaven. God is waiting for us in heaven, so do the Fathers will and you will be granted a spot in heaven.

Today Jesus is telling us that we can easily just listen to the word of God but we need to act on it. He even said those who listen but do not act are like fools who built his house on sand and it fell down like a person that doesnt have a very good life in the church. God is telling us so many things in the Gospel but first we need to learn to listen and remeber then we need to act on it and show others the word of God then you will be like the person who buiilt his house on stone and it survived and in theory built a loving life that sent it to heaven.

Today’s Gospel tells us how we can’t just be a Catholic to be close to God. We have to be Catholic through our actions, thoughts, and attitude. It is not only our actions that define us. Caring about, paying attention at Mass are just a couple of the ways we choose God by simply participating in the liturgy he has set up for us. His example talks about how we need to receive God’s message instead of just hearing it. We need to act on it to save ourselves from the floods, meaning the devil. He will try very hard to knock our house down but if we act on God’s word it is preventable.

What Jesus meant by building his house on a rock is to build your faith and hope on something stable such as Jesus. When we trust God and His plan for us, we will see that everything he has planned for us falls into place. When we do not build our house (faith and hope) onto something solid and stable the rain and the floods and the wind will wash it away. What we build our house on is Jesus’s words. Our house is our faith and hope. If we do not listen to Jesus and we do not understand what He has planned, we cannot have a protected house. Our house becomes fragile and is easily swept away by the weather (tempted into sin). What this all means is that if we focus on materialistic things like followers and likes on different social media platforms, we forget that Jesus is what we need to focus on and He should have our undivided attention.

In the passage the house is us. We are the temples of which the Holy Spirit resides and the desire for God can grow the stronger you build your foundation and temple. As humans we have a spiritual hunger. That can leave us wanting more and more, but with God we can learn to be content and happy with our lives.

We, as young Daughters and Sons of the Father, also need to remember that true peace and happiness cannot be found in worldly objects, but only in the Kingdom of God. Life is the massive staircase to Heaven and we can either take big leaps to get up there faster, or we can choose to stay at the bottom of the stairs, just wondering what it would be like to be at the top in happiness and joy.

What I mean by that is in our school we should take the stuff we learn in religion class and go do it outside of school. I feel like most of us just do it in religion class then never bother to do it anywhere else so when Jesus said “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of heaven,

“But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock.” God is like our rock, whatever intentions we give him or when we are struggling with something, we give it to God and he is like our rock becuase when things get hard he doesn’t leave us. When we give him the struggles we have he takes them from us and does whatever is mean to happen. God wants to help everyone and take all the struggles but you have to turn to him first.

People always wonder why sometimes God wages bad things on us. But really, its just satan. If you don’t appreciate the fact that you have the ability to live, thrive, be sad, be happy, and think that God hates you, your wrong. God loves everyone, just like how a dad and son would. The bad things that happen are because if there’s no bad, there is no good. If God never existed, then how would there be bad in this world? God loves you, and wants to see you in his paradise. But, you have to earn it. Step by step, if you believe and obey, you will be with him.

We can’t earn it. It is a free gift from God. We can grow in understanding with the Truths He revealed to us (intellect). We can decide (free will) to bring ourselves to His grace, His life in us and the sacraments. But the gift is free and cannot be earned. He took care of it already for us! This is Good News!

Jesus says to his discipples today that if you do not do the will of the father you will not enter heaven. But if you act on the words he says you will be a wise man that built his house on rock not sand. The floods came in and tore apart the house on sand but the one on rock was smart. Listen to God because he wants you with him today and everyday.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells us to not only listen to his words, but also act on his words. Many people say they are Christian or say they went to a Catholic school, but only a small percentage of those people go to Mass. We listen to God talk every day and give him praise. But it is out of love? Are you doing it because you are forced to, or are you doing it because you want to build a relationship? Actions speak louder than words. To show that you are Catholic will reflect your person better than saying that you are Catholic. Pray daily and piously, and do good to others for the sake of giving God glory.

The message I got from today’s gospel was to always be prepared for the coming of Christ. We never know when Jesus will return so we should always live each day like it is our last, being a good person to others and doing what is needed to get to Heaven.

“Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them
will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.” Not everyone who believes in God will go to heaven. You need to carry out the will of the Father and act like Jesus. You have to have pure intentions and follow the commandments. Be wise and follow Gods will and you will live happily in heaven with God.

In today’s Gospel Jesus tells us that if we hear his words and act on them we may be strengthened. If we hear his words but do not act on them then we may collapse. We may only survive with God. If we choose not to follow him then we will collapse just like the houses.

I feel like you see this a lot in today’s society. People will call out Lord Lord like stated in today’s reading. People say this and act like they are strong will God but are they really. What is the point of saying you have a relationship with God if you don’t. I think everyone does have some sort of relation with God but, if it’s built on sand or rock, that is for us to decide. I wish that the world would be built on rock we can help people rebuild their foundation one by one by just doing what we do everyday.

What I took from the Gospel today was that if we just do things that we think are good, but not genuinely we will not be as able to go to Heaven. If we do what is good, genuinely, we will have a better chance to go to Heaven.

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven”. This shows that we can call ourselves Catholic but don’t go to Mass, pray, and listen to Our Lord. We need to do His will to go to Heaven. We need to take His words and share them. We need to preach and act on His words.

God gave you a pure soul that wants to do the will of the father, as the scriptures say “the flesh has desires against the soul, and the soul against the flesh”. that scripture tells us that we must fight against the temptations of the flesh to enter his kingdom. he created us to be kind, gentle, loving, soft, and caring not defensive, rude, or unkind. he wants the best for us. He says be “joyful, patient, kind, generous, and faithful”

In this Scripture, it really stuck out to me that we have God in us. We have God’s power in us that has the faith for God and to believe in us. That our lives are gifts God has given us and God is all he can be and we cannot add anything to him because he is already pure and divine.

Just because you believe in God doesn’t mean you will immediately get into heaven, you actually have to talk to God, listen to his wise words, just listen to him. We have power to believe and pray and listen, if you really want to get into heaven don’t just believe, you have to live in the faith.
