Prayer Prompt before reading JN 17:1-11 Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father is and God the Son so that I may know who I am.

“NOW THIS IS ETERNAL LIFE, THAT THEY SHOULD KNOW YOU, THE ONLY TRUE GOD, AND THE ONE WHOM YOU SENT, JESUS CHRIST.” JN 17:1-11

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

This is truly amazing, Jesus is praying to Himself/God the Father! God the Father and God the Son work perfectly together to reconcile the souls of all humanity back to the Creator. ”Now glorify me, Father, with you, with the glory that I had with you before the world began.” Jesus has always been present. He is the first and the last, the Alpha and Omega. Now we have the opportunity to be a light for the world, salt of the earth through Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection. We get to participate in God’s Divine life!

We are baptized and set apart for a special mission. ”I glorified you on earth by accomplishing the work that you gave me to do.” That work may require lots of prayer, suffering, fasting, resisting the Devil, self-gift, sacrifice, and a lot of love, but the rewards are joy, peace, and everlasting life. Are you tough enough? Me either, that is why this is such a great gift from God. We don’t have to be tough, we have to vulnerable and completely surrender ourselves to Him. With God’s grace anything is possible.

Are you willing to risk your life for Jesus? I’m not talking about being a martyr or defending the faith with the threat of death, I’m talking about dying to self for a relationship with Christ and allowing Christ to transform you. We need to get out of the way and let God in to do his work so others will not see you but Christ. Jesus gave everything up for you, but what He really wants is to be your best friend. Bring yourself to Him daily and talk to Him.

Today’s challenge: Glorify God by opening yourself up to His grace to be transformed into an other Christ. May others not see us but Christ. Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen.

Be a servant, become a saint!
