Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.

After Jesus left the synagogue, he entered the house of Simon. Simon’s mother-in-law was afflicted with a severe fever, and they interceded with him about her.
He stood over her, rebuked the fever, and it left her.
She got up immediately and waited on them.

At sunset, all who had people sick with various diseases
brought them to him. He laid his hands on each of them and cured them. And demons also came out from many, shouting, “You are the Son of God.”
But he rebuked them and did not allow them to speak
because they knew that he was the Christ.

At daybreak, Jesus left and went to a deserted place.
The crowds went looking for him, and when they came to him, they tried to prevent him from leaving them.
But he said to them, “To the other towns also
I must proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God,
because for this purpose I have been sent.”
And he was preaching in the synagogues of Judea. Lk 4:38-44

“You are the Son of God.” If the demons recognize who Jesus is, do we?  At the beginning of His missionary life Jesus performs many miracles. Miracles show the power of God and He begins His journey to fight Satan on earth. Many of the prophets prophesied that the Messiah would heal the sick and call out demons.  The Apostles interceded with Jesus to pray over Simon’s mother-in-law, this shows the power of intercessory prayer.  Peter Kreeft says, “Prayer changes things”.
“I must proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God, because for this purpose I have been sent.”  Pope Francis, Bishop Kemme, parish priests, religion teachers, teachers, coaches and parents are proclaiming the good news that Jesus proclaimed with the Holy Spirit working through them to keep this “Good News” alive.  Are you listening?  Be a sponge, soak it up, then pass it on!

Today’s challenge: Pray for the sick or spend time with a sick relative.  Take time to recognize Jesus as the Son of God in a quiet Church or Adoration chapel, or the silence of your home.  Listen to the Good News and take it to heart. Share it with others!

Be a servant, become a saint!
