Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.
Jesus said to his disciples:
“Ask and it will be given to you;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds;
and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
Which one of you would hand his son a stone
when he asked for a loaf of bread,
or a snake when he asked for a fish?
If you then, who are wicked,
know how to give good gifts to your children,
how much more will your heavenly Father give good things
to those who ask him.
“Do to others whatever you would have them do to you.
This is the law and the prophets.” MT 7:7-12
When is the last time you just sat in silence and talked to Jesus like you were talking to your best friend, your wife or husband, your co-workers, or your children? If so, what did He say? Today, Jesus teaches us a valuable lesson, if you truly seek Him with your whole heart (an undivided heart), He will come to you. First, we start with doubt. We doubt His existence, we doubt He answers our prayers, we doubt. If you seek Truth, you will find God for He is Truth. This Lent is about finding out who Jesus is. It is not about giving up chocolate, God doesn’t hate chocolate (Matthew Kelly). It is about finding God in your life, coming closer to Him.
You don’t know how to get closer to Him. Ask Him? God if you exist, show me who you are. Show me why You created me. If your earthly father, mother, family, friends, priests, teachers, coaches care for you and are there for you when you are confused or doubt, how much more will the heavenly Father, your Creator, give you the answers and care that you deserve. God knows what you need more than you know yourself. He is your Creator and He always creates with a purpose. You are a perfect miracle no matter what anyone says on earth. God doesn’t create mistakes or people without purpose.
We are called to love. He wants us to be happy and live with purpose, not just exist, but live! When you ask God the most important questions in your life or just advice on the little things, He will show you the Way. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Ask the One who made you anything and He will answer you more perfectly than anyone else. ”Ask and it will be given you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” MT 7:7-8 Our hearts are made for seeking and as St. Augustine says, “Our hearts will not rest until they rest in You.” He may not answer if it is not according to His Will and plan for you life. Sometimes He tests our faith and wants us to learn how to wait. He wants to test us and see how faithful we will be and how much we trust Him. He knows what is best, are you willing to accept His Will over yours? Are you ready to accept suffering and sacrifice? It is required training of a soul seeking holiness. “Pray without ceasing” 1 Thes 5:17
This Lent do whatever it takes (prayer even when you don’t feel like it, fasting when you don’t like to, being present to others when you would rather be doing something for yourself) to come to know who God is in YOUR life. He seeks relationship with you (“I thirst” on the cross). Stop holding back and give yourself to Him.
Today’s challenge: Seek until you find, then be at peace and live the life given to you as a gift from your Creator. God’s not a slot machine to give you whatever you want. Are you willing to give up yourself for the Will of God? This will make you happiest!
Be a servant, become a saint!
#Christian YOLO
I can apply this to my life by asking for forgiveness and praying that God will guide me through the rough and easy times.
We would be much, much easier to get to Heaven if we asked God to take over and lead us to Heaven. But 99% of the time, we think that we can get to Heaven all by ourselves, but we can’t. The only way to get to Heaven is to let Jesus into our boat and let him take over our lives so we can live to the will of the father.
I can apply this to my daily life by letting my siblings use my things if they need or want it,and by being more generous to toward others.
In the last sentence, God calls us all prophets by saying “Do to others whatever you would have them do to you.
This is the law and the prophets.” This speaks to me by telling me that i don’t have to be specially chosen to be a missionary for God. All i have to do is start out small and get bigger. Over time everyone will start realizing that it is not that hard to be a missionary and we can transform the world.
In today’s scripture Jesus is telling us that whatever we do to our neighbor God will do to us. So if we give to the less fortune God will give to us. But is we don’t give to them God won’t give to us.
If we pray God will answer if we pray to him, it may not always be the answer we want to hear. But we should pray, no matter what, because in these times there are so many distractions to distract us from praying silently and quietly, other wise, the only we really only pray is when we are forced to at school, or at mass. So when we start doing freely it will feel so much better than forced out loud prayer. So we need to try praying on our own.
God will always care about you and love you. Even if you commit the most deadliest sin there is, He still loves you. We need to learn to trust in him and pray to the Holy Spirit for guidance.
I can reflect on this by truly seeking out Jesus.
God loves us so much, he offers us grace to be with him. He died on the cross for us, to get to heaven and to be with him. He wants us to grow our relationship. God always wants to be on our boat and we have to let him be on our boat.
We have to ask God for grace and he will provide for us and he will help us through everything. He will open the door if we knock.
In today’s scripture, Jesus tells us that we need to treat others how you want to be treated. “He says ask and you shall receive.” I think of this as when you ask nicely for something you have a better chance of getting it. So when you ask for something from Jesus, if you ask for it in a meaningful manor then you will might receive it.
If we question something and we ask God he will give us the answer and he will always open the door for you.
In this scripture, Jesus teaches us the beatitudes. I can apply this to my life by using the beatitudes everyday.
What i got from today’s scripture reading is that you cannot just rely on God to give you everything, he knows what you need and when you ask you shall receive, its good because we have to show Faith and believe in God to ask him, otherwise you would get everything you need without knowing where it may be coming from
God will answer our prayers, even if it’s not in the way we want. God doesn’t make mistakes, he fills us with he grace so everyone has the chance to get close to him. He calls us to love so we have to love him with our whole heart, mind, and soul. Without him we would be nothing. We should pray and thank God every day for all that he does for us.
This reflects on me because when I ask for stuff of God, God knows if I would really need it or if it would help in some way. He is telling me that when I ask for mercy God gives us mercy for our sins.
We need to remember to pray God will help us through the toughest times. People often ask him for money or popularity but that is not what God is about. God will help us if we ask and if we ask correctly and for the right thing. God loves us and wants to help us get to Heaven.
I can apply this to my life by remembering that God may not always give me answers but I know that everything he does is for a reason.
If you ask Jesus he will answer. If you knock on his door he will open. All you have to do is ask.
No, your not going to get everything from God that you ask for. But, the one thing that he will give you is love. Love is sacrifice. Love is putting one before yourself. Love is right in front of you. Ask, and God will give you love. Seek love and you will find it. Knock on love’s door, and it will open the gates of Heaven, because God is love. It is his being, and it can’t change. God doesn’t change. He will always love us, no matter if we’re in hell, poverty, sin/vice, on earth, in purgatory, or on judgement day. Human love compared to God’s love is like a germ. God’s love is more than 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (etc) times the amount than we are. It is infinite. There is plenty to go around. So ask, and it shall be given, seek and you shall find it, and knock, and the gates to heaven will be open
It really is a problem with all this abuse and mistreating of people that, surprisingly to me, are still going on today. Like, how many centuries does it take for society to realize that beating your wife or severely punishing your children for circumstances that do not match the punishment is wrong. God himself talked to us about it, on Earth, thousands of years ago and we are STILL doing it. In 2020. This was before there was a difference in A.D and B.C and we have not repented for our wrongdoings.
I should ask before I just take things
This piece of scripture shows us that if we ask of God for guidance, you may get it. We may not get what we pray for 100% of the time. This means we need to be persistent in our prayer life. We may not get what we want because it may be something selfish that we think will make us happy, but in reality it is just a distraction from God. We must ask him for love and forgiveness of our sins, and that is what will make us utterly and truly happy for all eternity.
We need to be persistent in asking God for what we need/want because he isnt going to give us everything that we want when we want it.
This shows that God loves us and wants to give us everything but we just need to ask him and follow him.
I can apply this to my life by giving my will up for God, by asking him for need when I need it and by just spending time to talk with him
I can apply this to my life by not having a doubt in my mind that when i ask God for something he will always give it if its his will no matter the odds or if it seems impossible he will make it happen .
This tells me to treat others as I would want to be treated. And to care for and take in people who need it, because those people are made in Gods image. and we wouldn’t treat God like that so why would we treat others like that.
In the reading today it says “Do to others whatever you would have them do to you.” To me this says that we should treat others as we want to be treated. We want to experience true love and happiness bur we have the wrong idea of what true happiness and love really is. The stuff that we think brings happiness really just draws us farther from God and Eternal life in Heaven. If we follow the 10 Commandments and respect the Beatitudes, WE WILL HAVE ETERNAL LIFE IN HEAVEN!!!
In this scripture passage Jesus is telling us to come seek Him out. The thing He wants more than anything is to give us His love and to grow closer with us. We should ask Him for help when we need it and take advantage of this Lent season to grow closer to Christ.
When I read this scripture passage today I remember getting mad at God for not answering my prayers when we did not win a game or when I did not get a A on my test. I did not find out till later that God will test us in our life to see if we are just there to say we are Catholic or are we there to truly love him fully and spend the rest of our days off Earth with him in Heaven. Don’t just be a Catholic just because it sounds cool, be a Catholic who spreads the word of God to others that are less fortunate then you are in their daily life.
I can apply this to my life by trusting God, and truly seeking out Jesus.
In this Gospel passage Jesus is saying that if you, ask you will receive, and if you knock the door will be opened. He also states that when your child asks for a loaf of bred and you give them a stone you are wicked.I can relate this to my life by not being greedy with my stuff and helping others when in need and when they are not in need.
What I learned from this scripture is that if you ask God for help and he doesn’t answer it is better than not even trying to talk to God.
We need to learn to trust God without a doubt. If we ask He will provide for us. If we doubt then we won’t fully trust him and we will get no where with our lives.
God will answer anything you ask of him, if it is his will. God knows everything, he knows what’s good and bad for you, do not doubt the Lord.
In the reflection of the Holy Bible it is telling that don’t be afraid to ask God and anybody a question. We can not be afraid to God that we need things in our lives.
In today’s scripture, Jesus is reassuring us that He will be there for us. As humans we don’t like to ask for things. We think it is embarrassing or a sign of weakness. God is asking us to ask. We have to ask the Lord because He knows what to do. We have a hard time believing that God will help us when we ask. We need to stop being afraid and ask Him!
The Gospel tells us that in order to go to heaven we need to ask for help ,because no madder what God has never in a gazillion years let us his people down.
I learned that even when you fell like God isn’t there he is, when you fell unloved he loves you. You should give everything for him but he doesn’t want everything from you he just wants you to give at least one thing up to be closer to him. He wants to be close to you but he can’t if you aren’t close to him.
I can apply this scripture to my life by praying for guidance from the Lord and I can also do my best by trying to live out the beatitudes with love. If we don’t ask than we won’t receive. You can ask by praying to God.
God loves us no matter who we are, He has never turned His back to us. We are the ones who move away from God when we sin. We should ask Him what our purpose is, so that we may serve Him and others.
I can apply this to my daily life by praying to God and treating others how I want to be treated and that he will open the door for us all we have to do is knock and the door will be opened.
We should ask God for something to happen in our life because God will do it or do something in place of it, which will be even better. If someone faded from God, and they are having a hard time in life, and they turn back to God and knocked on His door. God would let you in every time.
Today Jesus is talking to his disciples. He’s saying that if we ask for something in prayer then we’ll get it. But if the man is evil and selfish he won’t get what he asked for. I can use this by doing what God ask and being selfless instead of selfish.
What I think God is trying to tell me in this scripture passage today is that I should always trust in the Lord. If I have someone who needs prayers God is always there to hear my prayer, but it shall be his will, not mine.
Today’s Scripture is telling us that God gives us what we want, He never says no, He is always there to give the attention that we seek and the love that we long for.
God teaches us great things today, he teaches us that we in fact are only to be given what we ask in him, but not in a literal sense. What we ask of him is truly what we give up. In order to be in union with God we must repent, and sacrifice. We are truly not united until we do as he did, mirror the acts of Jesus. That is how we are given things by God.
We need to pray for hat we need or want. Really pray for it. God isn’t just a machine that gives us everything we ask for. If we really need it and pray right, then God will grant it to us.
I can apply this to my life by being more generous to people and doing what they say. I can help anyone and use my time on them.
I can apply this to my life by being open to God’s call. I need to knock on his door, and ask for him to guide me and tell my my vocation . I need to listen to him, and pray to make sure i’m doing the right thing.
What i got from today’s scripture is that we have to have faith in God. If we pray to God and ask for something and it doesn’t happen, that doesn’t mean God didn’t hear us. Some time you just have to keep at it and pray every day.
Today in the scripture Jesus says that we will be given what we want, anything at all. But he also says that we have to give to get what we want. If we treat others with disrespect we will not receive the gift of happiness. We have to give before we can get. If we do so we will get the greatest gift of them all, the gift of going to heaven.
I can apply this to my life by asking God every day for help and guidance. He is always listening and if I ask I will receive.
If you want forgiveness from God, then you must give forgiveness first. You have to give to be given to. We can’t just live without giving and expect to get what we want from God.
God will give us any old thing just because we asked. Only if we ask and show faith in him and his powers will he give us this which we need.
God loves us and wants the best for us. When we ask God for something He will give it to us if He knows it’s good. We need to put all our trust God .
God knows you better than we know ourselves, he will give us things when we need it. Just because you don’t get want you prayed for right away doesn’t mean he doesn’t hear you or love you. His love is infinite and will be around forever.
This might be one of the most self explanatory gospel passages there is. Jesus is simply saying to always turn to Him and trust in Him. Whatever you ask of Him will be given. But there’s a catch. You can’t be selfish and expect God to fulfill your every wish and desire. Your prayer might not even be answered for years! You just have to be patient in trust in God. He knows whats right for you and He will give you what you truly need to be holy. The only thing he asks of us is to not be selfish or wicked to our neighbors. That’s a pretty nice deal if you ask me.
We are all called to love and called to become saints. The only way we can achieve these things is by talking to God in prayer, and asking for His grace, mercy, and forgiveness. Jesus told the apostles to ask and they will receive, so all we have to do is ask Jesus in genuine prayer for acceptance into the kingdom of God.
Today, Jesus preaches to us about people being given what they asked for, this may seem odd; what would that have to do with the kingdom of God? God wants to fulfill our hearts, but he will not give us a million dollars, because a million dollars isn’t going to buy us a ticket to heaven. If we ask each other for necessties and are given them in return, then that person who gave it must have a good heart. If instead we ask, and they give us a slap on the nose, naturally, that’s not very nice. God is like the nice person trying to fulfill our needs, but he is also like the nice person, becuase, he does what’s best for you, just like your nice mom would hopefully try and do her best of that.
I think what Jesus was trying to say is that if someone asks for something you wouldn’t give them something different than what they asked for. we can apply this to our daily life by praying more bold prayers and not just ask for a better day.
What I learned from this scripture is that God is always there for us, even if we don’t think that he is. He’s always going to be there for us. People leave from your life all the time but God will always stay no matter what.
I think that this is saying that we can do anything through Christ. If we love God and ask for help or forgiveness, He will always be there for us and lead us to the right path.
The Lord is willing to give us everything we need. He showed us this when he died for us, to save us. If he is willing to die for us, there are many other things he is willing to do. We just need to ask him. Ask the Lord for whatever you need, and you will receive it. It might not come immediately, or in the way you expect it to come, but it will come.
In this Scripture got that we should always be open and on the lookout for God’s call. We should meditate upon God’s teachings or just meditate and pray to God in general. We have to be careful of the decisions we make for it’ll be determined on judgement day.
Jesus is saying that we can ask for something and we will receive it. That doesn’t mean that we will get everything that we ask for \. That doesn’t necessarily mean that we will get what we asked for right away. This just means that if God wills it, in time, we will get what we asked for, whether that means that we will get it today, tomorrow, or years from now.
God has the ability to give us anything we need. He is willing to give it to us as long as we ask. Though, he will only give it to us if what we are asking for is in alignment with his will.
God will help us for what we want and give us what we want as long as we give our lives to him and open up to him and pray to him because no matter what he will be there for us. We need to ask him for help and guidance and for him to always strengthen us so that we may get closer to him and grow in holiness. We need to pray to God if we want something because he won’t just give it to us no matter what we have to want it so badly we pray to him.We need to always trust in him
If people here on Earth can help us, then our Heavenly Father will help us infinitely more because He is God and not a human. We don’t need to be afraid to ask Him for help with our needs. Seek Jesus and He will come to you.
*God is human and divine
Jesus teaches us today that we only receive what we ask and need of God nothing less nor nothing more. In order to be closer to God we must repent and sacrifice. We can never truly be with Jesus if we are not like Jesus.
This tells me that God does all no matter how little it might seem to you. This also tells me to swallow my pride and ask for help from others and for God.
I think this passage is saying that we just need to take the time to listen to God and listen to Him. He said in the passage “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” all we have to do is put in the effort to listen to Him, and be patient like He is with us.
If we ask for something, God will give us the answer. He knows His plan for us and we have to trust that and be patient. He has His plan and we need to trust that everything will happen when it needs to happen.
Our job as disciples of Christ is to help others grow closer to him. If people see us love someone or they are loved by us then they will grow to appreciate God in our hearts. Think about it, whenever someone is nice to us we want to do something nice for them back, right? This is how we can spread God’s love throughout the world, and help others to Heaven. If this is our goal, to expect nothing back, than we will be in favor with God.
Jesus not only wants us to want Him. He will always be there to welcome us back when we repent. He also wants us to give what we have and make others happy. That will make Him happy and ourselves happy.
Having faith in God is important. When we ask for something reasonable from God we get it. God loves us so much that He gave up his life for us. God wants our hearts to be happy, and so we should do the same for Him.
The Golden Rule we all know, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Today Jesus is implying it saying, “Do to others whatever you would have them do to you. … Who would give their son a rock when he asks for a loaf of bread.” What Jesus is saying is quite clear who would do the easy thing for someone rather than going out of their way to help. Like what father Jarrod said you don’t want a doctor who is going to help you only to get their money from you. Sometimes I am the doctor and the patient is God. Sometimes I ask God for something and I don’t really talk to Him, I just say “God, I would like this…” and not say anything more, so this lent am going to work on humility, and making more time to pray.
In order to truly be happy we have to learn how to treat those around us with the same respect that we expect to be treated ourselves. If we constantly treat each other with unfairness and disrespect then we will never be able to truly reach the life God wants us to have. In order to truly be able to see past everything a person has done we must fin it in our hearts to forgive them. If we have a grudge than we must find a way to forgive them for it and if we don’t and we forgive that person for minor things they’ve done than we can never truly forgive them therefore never truly be forgiven either. If all we see in a person is how they act and look like and decide by that id they’re a bad person than we are in the wrong . We have to sometimes look past someone’s looks, personality, nationality, weird interests/hobbies, sexuality, skin color and even stereotypes just because of where they’re from or look like. Like if someone is blonde that means they’re dumb. If someone is black than they may steal from you. If someone is gay that means they are not in a good mental state. All of these are not true where some cases they can be which apparently give people “proof” that stereotypes are mostly true. If we always look at someone for what we think they are and how we think they act than we can never see them for who they are deep down and we need to look past that. We need to be ready to accept people for who they are , who or what they identify as, and what they wanna be. We all need to change and we all need to see past all our differences and see each other in a different light and just understand who we are and who they are.
In this Scripture passage i think that it’s trying to say that we need to learn how to love. Jesus is love and he wants us to love others just as ourselves, Instead of being selfish, we should be caring towards others.
In the scripture God is telling me to be in the silence to pray so we are not distracted by other worldly things that will take are attention away from him. This mean to have a good talk with God you need to be in silence.
Jesus is saying that if we ask Him and really want to be closer to Him then He will help us with what we need. God doesn’t want us to fail he wants us to grow in our faith and go to Heaven to be with Him.
It takes God to get us to Heaven it is not possible for us to do it on our own. We need his forgiveness and his love to live a happy an a eternal life up in Heaven.
Jesus tells us today that whatever we ask of him he will give it to us. However, we must work for it. We can’t do nothing for our faith and out relationship with God and then expect him to give us what we want. Also in the same way, if someone asks us for something, we should give it to them weather it is our time or something we have we should give up ourselves to God by giving ourselves up to others. When we give ourselves up to others God sees that we are selfless and that we are living for him.
I can apply this to my daily living by always seeking out Jesus. He is and will always be here for us. All we need to do is knock on the door for help and He’ll open it with open arms. Let God take the wheel and let Him guide us in the right direction, then we just have to listen.
Praying to Jesus is one of the most important things to do. We can’t just go everyday without talking to him and expect to feel different or get what you need. We need to ask him to help us to get to heaven. Not only do we need to pray but we need to be nice to those around us too.
Jesus is telling me that whatever you ask that is the will of the Father will be granted to you. All you have to do is ask. You must treat others how you want to be treated. Jesus is telling me to always turn to him and trust him everyday.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells us that God can do more for you than anybody else, but you have to ask. Jesus also says that you should do for others what they ask from you. I think that God can work in our lives, if His work is fit for the situation.
We have to have faith in God everyday. If we give to others than God will give to us. We have to be kind to everyone. Also we need to pray everyday in order for God to reward us with Heaven.
God is telling us that we are called to love one another. In the scripture it says that we are made to talk and love God. In the scripture it asks us whens the last time we talked to God. They ask us to talk to God and listen to his teachings. The scripture tells us to pray when we fell like it and when we feel peaceful. It tells us that we need to talk to God and one another like God.
To achieve the ultimate goal, Heaven, we must work for it. We have to follow the commandments, constantly worship Him, and love one another. It’s hard to constantly worship God, but if we really tried it can be easy. We just have to pray everyday. And not just for 10 minutes.
Jesus is saying that we need to trust him he is saying give me your sin even when we divers it he sill takes it away he will always say give me your sin that is how much he loves us.
God is telling us to devote our lives to him. We need to give time to God and ask him what He wants of us. We need to ask God for help with our lives. Listen to Him and He will guide you.
Jesus is trying to teach us how to pray and how to love. If we take time to learn how to pray and just sit in silence with God, we will be much more happy then we will ever be. Doing prayer, the devil is trying to tempt us to think about something else and to distract us and keep us far away from God as possible. By sitting in silence and learning how to pray, we can listen to God and learn from God and hear what he has to say to us. All of us have a vocation, some of us don’t even know what we would like to do. Pray to God and he will help you find out what your mission in life is, beisdes serving him as his son or daughter. We decide how our life is by making the right descions, and by praying we are able to make the correct establishment.
I can apply this to my life by being more generous with others and nit saying rude comments to friends and others, I can also spend time each day praying or giving to the poor. And pray for the weak and those that are in the hospital. And follow God in hi footsteps.
This scripture shows us that if we ask of God for guidance you may get it. Another thing God is telling me is that God so loved the world x
that he made man^^^
ok
What God is saying in this scripture is that if we ask God for anything than we will get what we have asked for. God only asks one thing for us and that is to be more humble and be more generous.
I can apply this to my life by knowing that God can hear my prayers. If we ask him of something (and not just anything, like all of the money in the world, or every lego set I’ve always wanted), he will give it to us.
Sometimes we just need to ask God for his grace. Seek out what he’s telling us. He won’t give us any wisdom if we don’t ask for it.
In the Scripture today, Jesus says that if we whole-heartedly come to him and ask for something, he will give it to us. Not material things, obivously. But, if our intentions our good and it’s apart of his plan, he will give it to us.
In today gospel God is basically telling us that he can do more for you than he can anybody else. We just have to believe in him and be grateful towards him and everyone else
I can apply this to my life by recognizing that Jesus can take the place of everything in this passage. If we go to Jesus he will be there for us no matter what happens.
In today’s Gospel it is saying we need to share what we have with other’s. Jesus shared his whole life for us so that we could be on this earth. We need to follow his example and come to eternal rest with him in heaven. We can’t just say we pray so were going to heaven. We have to talk to God and welcome him into our boat like we are told. He truly loves us so we have to truly love him back.
I can apply this scripture passage to my life by seeking the truth. In this, Jesus is telling us that if we ask of him, he will give it to us. He might not answer our prayers in the way we want him to, but he will answer.
We need to talk and listen to God. We also need to ask for forgiveness even though God tells us to give us his sins. We have to turn away from the devil and always seek truth. The truth is always through scriptures and listening to God.
In this scripture, it is telling us that Jesus likes to work in the most humble and low in society people to do his work. He chooses the people that other people discard and work miracles through them. He is telling us that if we choose to help even the non popular people on earth than he will reward us in heaven.
I learned I need to talk to Jesus more and seek him in all ways and fight to follow him
What this Scripture is telling me is that if we ask of God for something he will answer you! It’s not like you will always get what you asked for, It just means he answered you!
in this scripture its saying that if we ask God for something he will give but when someone asks us for something and we dont give God will do the same and not give us what we want.
I can apply this to my life when I pray to God. I can ask for what i want and he will give it to my. But that will only happen it I work for it. We need to pray and talk and mainly listen to God.
Jesus loves us. If you ask, you shall receive. But we can’t just play Jesus and only start loving and praising Him when we want something. We have to always stay faithful to the Lord.
One way that I can apply this scripture passage to my life is to remember that I can always pray to God when things get hard or people are really in need of prayer. This doesn’t mean that God is just one big vending machine and all we have to do is put in our prayers and then we will get what ever we want, it is more like we respectfully put our intentions and petitions in his hands and God always hears them. God answers our prayers every time, but not always in the way we want him too. We need to remember that God’s will is better than ours regularly, and he will lead us to our eternal goal, heaven.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus talks about prayer. I think one of the reasons prayer is sometimes so difficult, is because we don’t feel anything when we pray, or God doesn’t respond, or give us what we want when we pray. I think that sometimes it’s difficult for us to understand why God doesn’t always heal us, or why God didn’t keep that person alive, or how we prayed for something to happen, and it didn’t. But God is our heavenly Father, and wants the best for us. If your kids asked you for a cookie every day, would you always give them a cookie? Of course not! You may give them a cookie every once in a while, but you know that it wouldn’t be good for them to have a cookie every day. This is how God is. Our prayer wouldn’t be as meaningful if God gave us exactly what we wanted every single time, and God has a plan that is way beyond our imagination, or comprehension. God wants to be close to you, and the only way he can do that is through prayer. You don’t demand your friends give you fifty bucks every time you see them, so why should God have to give you something every time you pray? God put us here to create a relationship with him, not to give us everything we want.
I can apply Today’s Gospel to my life by giving people things when they ask. Especially, siblings. Even though it can be hard, God stills gives when we ask, so if someone asks, they should receive.
We may ask God for many things and we won’t get the because they are for selfish reasons like a specific item but it is probably more likley to be granted if it is selfless and Jesus says “know how to give good gifts to your children” these “good gifts” are the selfless things we ask God for. One selfless thing that would be good to ask God for now is the 3 things we always pray for in Religion, Military, Abortion, and Souls In Purgatory. We need to learn that the more selfless we are the more reward there will be in our eternal home of Heven.
In the scriptures Jesus says “Ask and it will be given to you.” Jesus also parallels that by saying “Which one of you would hand his son a stone when he asked for a loaf of bread, or a snake when he asked for a fish?” I think that Jesus is telling us that when we ask for something we expect to receive what we ask for, but when we are asked for something we don’t always give. We should expect to receive things from God only if we are good and give away are belongings to follow him. Should we really expect to receive anything if we don’t give?
If we need something, the first person we should turn to is God. He wants to hear everything, the good and the bad. If we ask God He will give it to us. This doesn’t mean that He will give everything you want to you, but He will provide for what He has planned for you.
This has to be the scripture that i have related to or have understood the most in my eyes. this is a really amazing scripture i can tell in my soul that God is trying to tell me that he made me for a reason and not just to feel that i don’t fit in in or don’t belong. i don’t really like to tell people this but sometimes i feel really bad and unhappy but when i see my friends that helps so much no matter how bad i’m doing i can understand that God makes everything happen for a reason. can take home for me that God has put me here for a reason and he will take me for a reason at the right time he has a story planned out for me.
In the gospel today, we learn that for those who ask our heavenly father, receive. As individual disciples of Christ, we must strive to accomplish this through our prayers. Through our sacrifices and our joys; and if we do this, we will ascend into heaven, united with God, united with the saints and angels.
God is saying today that if you ask it shall be given to you. We should pray to Jesus daily and ask him for something you want to make better or something that you want for someone to live a better life or for there soul. God truly loves us so we need to love him back and pray to him every day.
Jesus is saying today that if we ask it will be given to us. We need to pray everyday to Jesus he is so important in the world I loves us so much. If we ask he will give it to us he says today seek and you will find knock and it will be open. We have to go out in this world and preach about Jesus and tell the world how great he is and if we do we will find love with the Heavenly Father.
