Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.
Jesus said:
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites.
You pay tithes of mint and dill and cummin,
and have neglected the weightier things of the law:
judgment and mercy and fidelity.
But these you should have done, without neglecting the others.
Blind guides, who strain out the gnat and swallow the camel!
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites.
You cleanse the outside of cup and dish,
but inside they are full of plunder and self-indulgence.
Blind Pharisee, cleanse first the inside of the cup,
so that the outside also may be clean.” MT 23:23-26
Jesus is upset with the leaders of His own faith. He is God and these are His chosen people. There are times we are like the Pharisees and scribes. We pay tithes to the Church for the wrong reasons or none at all. We forget the most important parts of the law: judgment (God sees everything, even in the privacy of your home, sin has serious consequences), mercy (When is the last time God did not forgive you when you were sorry from the heart, how many people are you holding grudges with right now and not forgiving, do you suffer with people or only worry about yourself?), fidelity (are you faithful to God praying every day, offering up your crosses, putting others first, worshiping Him and bringing souls to heaven, are you faithful to your spouse or girl friend, your friends, your family, your kids?)
Do we strive each day to cleanse the insides of our minds keeping them pure and holy focused on Christ and others, not self? What a difficult teaching to live! God has given us everything we need to be ready on judgment day, to be merciful as He has mercy on us, be faithful, and to live pure and holy lives. Today, we strive together as the mystical body of Christ to cleanse the inside first so that we may be other Christ’s on the outside for the world to see and imitate.
Today’s challenge: Strive for holiness starting with cleansing yourself in confession. Live a faithful sacramental life. Pray always. Keep your mind on heaven, goodness, holiness, and pure things. Say your rosary every day. Offer up your crosses. Be a servant and enter each room asking if you can help with anything.
Be a servant, become a saint!
