Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Jesus said to the Pharisees:
“There was a rich man who dressed in purple garments and fine linen
and dined sumptuously each day.
And lying at his door was a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores,
who would gladly have eaten his fill of the scraps
that fell from the rich man’s table.
Dogs even used to come and lick his sores.
When the poor man died,
he was carried away by angels to the bosom of Abraham.
The rich man also died and was buried,
and from the netherworld, where he was in torment,
he raised his eyes and saw Abraham far off
and Lazarus at his side.
And he cried out, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me.
Send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue,
for I am suffering torment in these flames.’
Abraham replied, ‘My child,
remember that you received what was good during your lifetime
while Lazarus likewise received what was bad;
but now he is comforted here, whereas you are tormented.
Moreover, between us and you a great chasm is established
to prevent anyone from crossing
who might wish to go from our side to yours
or from your side to ours.’
He said, ‘Then I beg you, father, send him
to my father’s house,
for I have five brothers, so that he may warn them,
lest they too come to this place of torment.’
But Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the prophets.
Let them listen to them.’
He said, ‘Oh no, father Abraham,
but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’
Then Abraham said,
‘If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets,
neither will they be persuaded
if someone should rise from the dead.’” Lk 16:19-31

Today, Jesus teaches us through a parable, The Rich Man and Lazarus.  We can be rich in many ways not just by money.  We can be poor in many ways not just by not having money.  Today’s parable is a foreshadowing of those who will continue NOT to believe after the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Is that you?  You must strive each day to get to know Him in the Scriptures, YouCat, watching Fr. Mike Schmitz on YouTube, reading this blog, reading a spiritual book, staying dedicated to prayer and by helping others.  If Jesus were to have died and rose today and we captured footage on video, then sent it out to the world on YouTube or via any type of media coverage there would be people that did not believe.  They would say it is video that was doctored up.  Nobody can rise from the dead.  It is not reasonable.  This is the point-trust in God, have faith. Believe in Him because He told you to, period.  Yes, this will create a lot of doubt and searching, but search for Truth and you will find God.  We must keep the end in mind each day, death, judgment, heaven and hell are coming our way.  We will all die, nobody has come up with a cure for that.  One person has conquered it though and given us new life through Baptism.  We need to make some serious decisions.  Eternal states cannot be changed after death.  You have been given this life to Know God by seeking Him daily, Love Him, Serve Him, do His Will and return to Him (Become a saint!).  Don’t waste any more time, you do not know when the Lord will call you to judgment.

Today’s challenge: Reflect on your life and how you want people to remember you after you died.  Live your life today and every day the way you want to be remembered.  Live with the end in mind-eternal states cannot be changed.  Seek Christ and you will find Him, He says so and He cannot lie.

Be a servant, become a saint!
