Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Jesus said to those Jews who believed in him,
“If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples,
and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
They answered him, “We are descendants of Abraham
and have never been enslaved to anyone.
How can you say, ‘You will become free’?”
Jesus answered them, “Amen, amen, I say to you,
everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin.
A slave does not remain in a household forever,
but a son always remains.
So if the Son frees you, then you will truly be free.
I know that you are descendants of Abraham.
But you are trying to kill me,
because my word has no room among you.
I tell you what I have seen in the Father’s presence;
then do what you have heard from the Father.”
They answered and said to him, “Our father is Abraham.”
Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children,
you would be doing the works of Abraham.
But now you are trying to kill me,
a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God;
Abraham did not do this.
You are doing the works of your father!”
So they said to him, “We were not born of fornication.
We have one Father, God.”
Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me,
for I came from God and am here;
I did not come on my own, but he sent me.” JN 8:31-42
Jesus reveals in plain language again that He is the Messiah. This is Good News. We are broken, we inherited a loss of holiness from Adam and Eve, we are sinners who need a Savior. God the Father sent Him to save us. We remind ourselves of this by looking in the mirror and recognizing our brokenness and sin during Advent to prepare for the day a Savior is born. Today, our culture is continually killing Jesus, the Truth.
The Devil wants us to have so much information that we cannot find the Truth. It is very difficult to find the Truth on the Internet, a vast highway of information. There is only one Truth, it is impossible for there to be multiple truths or there is no truth. Everyone just has their own opinion and we are going nowhere with no purpose. God is Truth. He created us to be rightly ordered with mission and purpose. If we are ever struggling in life, we can come to God and His Word to teach us the Truth and make the right decisions.
Are we like the Jews and want to kill Jesus, the Truth? Are we like today’s culture (and every culture since the beginning of time) who want to kill the Truth? Why? The truth divides. “He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters.” MT 12:30
It requires change. If there is no change there is no growth.
I just attended a conference that told a lot of truth. “Nobody wants to be average,” was a catch phrase of the speaker. We discussed that for growth to happen we had to change. When we are not growing or feel like we are accomplishing anything we get stuck or scared. What relationship in your life is stuck because you or the other person won’t change (I emphasize you because we cannot change others)? What fear do you have to overcome causing you to be stuck?
Jesus is Truth and He will not change, He is the rock (In this time of the pandemic, stress, anxiety, depression, relationship problems, struggle with sin, cancer, being accepted, have an uncertain future, etc. cling to the One who is unchanging). He is love, Truth, and the first good. We all want these, but get stuck or we are scared causing us not to change. If we want to be holy and be with Jesus forever, we have to change. How? Our yes, our fiat (accepting God who is trying to act on us), cooperating with God’s grace.
Today’s challenge: Get out of the way and allow God to transform you. It is hard, it requires that you look in the mirror and hold yourself accountable, and you have to change. Be not afraid, Jesus gave all to be with you each step of the way! He is not dead but fully alive, He has risen!
Be a servant, become a saint!

If we are in God’s planet and in His own image He is going to have a will for us.
the scripture said, “If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” I think this means that If you follow God and follow him he will show you the truth. When you do not lie and speak the truth you will be free. You will not be held down by sin or guilt.
“If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Jesus tells us that the truth will free us. By telling the truth, we will not build on our sin. If we don’t build on our sin, we will not be prisoners of sin; therefore, we will be free.
Jesus, in this Gospel, is telling us of our brokenness: “Everyone who commits a sin is a slave of sin.” Jesus is trying to help us become free, and today, he has told us what we need to do: “If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples,
and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” We need to believe in him (remain in my word), and then we will be his disciples, and will teach us all of what we need to know, and get us to heaven. The truth will set us free!
I think this is saying that when we sin, we’re hurting Jesus with our wrongdoings and our actions. We cause Jesus to suffer with our actions. When we’re engaged in the wrong cultures, we’re covering the Truth of Jesus ourselves. We need to put ourselves in the right place and with the right people to be able to have the reality and Truth revealed to us.
In our world, we get so caught up in things that aren’t God. God is the only way, and He is willing to help us on our path to Heaven. What we see and hear about influences our thoughts, what we think about influences our actions, and our actions shape the world around us.
In today’s gospel, Jesus tells us, “If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Jesus knows that soon the people will turn against Him and He is spreading the Word before they persecute Him.
our father is i jesus and i need to understand that like a father i can come to him
We only hear what we want to hear. Just like we only follow the things ,the Catholic church teaches, like we like to follow. We have to go all out and not be medium Catholics. So fully listen to God and fully follow Him and you will be happy and find true meaning.
What I took from this gospel is that Jesus is the light and the truth. He is the mean reason why we are here, he is the reason why we are still standing on the ground today. He is always here for us and if we follow his foot steps we will be guided into the light. He guides us to the light and we need to see that. Jesus is here with us right now and we need to acknowledge what he has done for us and what we will be doing for us.
The Good News wasn’t seen as Good at the time by some people. It was seen as blasphemy, it was seen at bad to the point of killing the man who proclaimed it. It takes an either greatly distorted opinion or horrible news to make the receivers kill the giver. In this case, it was the distorted opinion that caused the death of Christ. We need to recognize the truth for what it is and accept it.
Jesus tells us today that he is the Messiah. He keeps telling the people that he is the Messiah but they won’t believe Him. Even though Jesus tells the people that he is the Messiah many times. They never believed him, until he dies on the cross for everyone.
In todays gospel there is one line that means a lot, “Amen, amen, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin.” this basically means that we are a slave of the devil every time we sin because sin is the devil. When we do not sin though, we are free, free to go wherever we want. You don’t have to be at the hand of the devil and you can fight him. If you want to be free, then do not listen to the devil, do not sin. If you want to be free choose God.
By the Lord’s sacrifice, we are freed from sin. The Lord sets us free, but we must choose that freedom. You can bring an ox to water but you cannot make it drink from it. We are not forced to love God. Love is a chose that we must make.
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.” -1 Corinthians 13: 4-7
This scripture is talking about choosing God. If you trust him he will lead you to the right path and he is always listening to us. If we take time out of our day to talk to him he will always help us and lead us to heaven.
Jesus says “everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin.” Jesus gave us freewill but just because he gave us free will doesn’t mean we should do whatever. When we start giving into earthly things we become a slave to them.
We need to try out best not to hurt God. Its really hard not to sin but every time we are about to we have to remind ourselves that God is watching and that he sacrificed everything for us.
In this scripture, Jesus is defending His right to live, because they are trying to kill Him for preaching and saying He is the Son of God.
Jesus is telling him that he did not come on his own, but he was sent. He also teaches him that what they think is wrong, because Abraham is not the Father, but God is, and if they truly believed that, then they would believe him.
In this Gospel he is telling us that he is the Savior. Jesus says “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and am here; I did not come on my own, but he sent me.” Jesus is telling the sons of Abraham that he is the Savior, for God sent him down from heaven to save us from our sins, so that we could have eternal life!
Jesus is telling us that he really is God, and he has proved this many times. All who believe in him will have eternal life.
In the Gospel Jesus says he is God. He tells us that He will set us free if we listen to him. He tells us that He didn’t come by Himself but he was sent down. If we want eternal life with God we need to listen to Him and believe in Him.
This scripture was hard for me to understand, but I think it’s showing that Jesus is telling us that He is the Messiah. He did it in plain sight too. He straight up said,”I am the Messiah” just in a different way. My favorite line from the passage is, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and am here; I did not come on my own, but he sent me.” JN 8:31-42
What reached out to me was when Jesus said, “I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin”. What this means to me is that sinning will just lead to more sin and despair. It’s just a disgusting cycle until we give up and lose hope. So we have to do all that we can to avoid sin.
In today’s scripture Jesus is revealing Himself to us. He is showing us that He is here and that God sent Him to save everyone on earth. He is telling all the people that He is the Savior.
In today’s reading “a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God;” is a place where I feel Jesus reveals himself. By says I heard from God that shows that Jesus does pray often and communicates with His father. Saying that he heard the truth that is hard to turn down because how else will we know what is the truth or not.
This Gospel tells us that Jesus sets us free from our sins. We are slaves to our sins. Everyone sins, but Jesus sets us free from it. Another thing that happens in this Gospel is Jesus tells everyone that He is God. He says, “If God were your Father, you would love me,for I came from God and am here;I did not come on my own, but he sent me.”
Jesus revealed that he is the Messiah to us. He did this because we are broken. It’s good because we sin and we aren’t sorry. He came to us so we could change and grow in holiness. But, the only way to do that is to believe
Jesus is saying that the sins hurt him but we can go to confession and our sins will be forgiven. If we do not we stay a slave of sin and those sins will be with us until we go to confession so Jesus is telling us that we wont always have those sins unless if we do not go to confession.
Jesus tells them multiple times that he is the savior they had been waiting for. the people don’t believe him be cause they thought that the savior would be a figure of political power not a man like Jesus
This means that we are not to kill. That is one of the commandments
This Scripture is saying that Jesus reveals that he is the messiah and that he tells us that if we sinned we are a slave of sin and that we get it from Adam and eve when they both ate the apple and that we need someone to save us from our sins Jesus also tell us that ¨A slave does not remain in a household forever, but a son always remains. So if the Son frees you, then you will truly be free.¨ it saying that if we go to confession and we confess our sins we are then like truly free from our sins.
This scripture is telling us to listen to God. God has important things to say to us and we should listen to him.
It says if you make a sin you are a slave of sin but, if you go confess your sins you are forgiven by the Son. Jesus says that if you are the son of Abraham you must do his work.
He directly tells them that if they love and believe in God then they would love and believe him. Because he comes from the father God.
The people Jesus was talking to said that they have one God, which is God. The only problem with that is that if they truly loved God they would love Jesus. Jesus is God and that will never change. Jesus is equal to God. It sounds crazy but God sent the Lord to earth to carry on the love of God. Jesus=God God=Love
“If God was your Father, you would love me,for I came from God and am here;I did not come on my own, but he sent me.” In this scripture Jesus reveals himself to us by saying that if God were your father then you would love him because he is God’s son. The people had a hard time believing that Jesus was really God, but they thought that they had to see to believe. But instead they should have had faith in him. we should follow the example of having faith in Christ like the disciples
Whoever sins is a slave of sin. If we submit ourselves to God, we will be free from sin and be in God’s loving hands. Jesus wants to free us from sin and is calling us to be free in Heaven with Him. He is our rock and our reliance. We shall rely on him and put our troubles into his hands as long as we love and believe in him.
I think this is saying that when we sin, we’re hurting Jesus with our wrongdoings and our actions. We cause Jesus to suffer with our actions.
I think today’s scripture passage is trying to tell us that even when we hurt God by sinning, if we confess he will still forgive us. Jesus loves us no matter how much we have sinned. We need to understand that everybody sins, and we have the opportunity to be forgiven.
This scripture is telling us that we are so caught up in social media and our phones that we never talk to God. God is the way. He is in love. Why spend our time on wasteful things instead of spending our time with Jesus. If we build our relationship with him and go to confession we live a wonderful life, and go to Heaven and see Jesus face to face. How many times does Jesus have to tell us that he is God and he the way. He should not ever have to tell us, we look at the crucifix and we know.
Jesus is saying that He is truly the son of God and that soon He will die to save all of us from death. We shouldn’t kill physically like the soldiers did to Jesus or with our words like the soldiers also did to Jesus.
God the Father sent Him to save us. We remind ourselves of this by looking in the mirror and recognizing our brokenness and sin. if the Son frees you, then you will truly be free. God will always be with you be patient and pray with Him.
Since everybody is a sinner, we are all slaves of sin. It is how having free will is. God wants us to be able to make our own choices and we need to choose to follow him and to truly listen.
Jesus is the only one who can set us free. We are enslaved by sin. It surrounds us. Only we can stop being sinful, by going to Jesus.
“Jesus said to them, ‘If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and am here; I did not come on my own, but he sent me.’ ” Jesus is saying that He came from God, the Father. He is plainly saying it to the Jewish people. They thought that He was being blasphemous, saying that He is God. After they conversed among themselves, they determined that Jesus was being blasphemous, so they wanted to put Him to death for it.
What stood out to me was, “BUT NOW YOU ARE TRYING TO KILL ME, A MAN WHO HAS TOLD YOU THE TRUTH THAT I HEARD FROM GOD.” It stood out to me because God is with us. We shouldn’t kill Him. He tells us the truth. God is helping you to get back to the Father. God is good all the time; all the time God is good. We sin which hurts God but he forgives us just like how we need to forgive one another.
‘”everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin. A slave does not remain in a household forever, but a son always remains.” I think that this means when we sin we should go back to Jesus. We want to get as close to Him as we can so we can be better children in God. We need to find ourselves back to Him when we have done wrong . We are all children of God but only some of us stay close to Him.
what the sripture is telling me is that when we sin we become sinners and it hurts God when we do. its like spilling something on your shirt and its stained until you wash it off. when you wash it off its like when you go to confession.
in Scripture, it said that Jesus will free us from the slavery of sin. Sin is leading us to despair. We need hope. Many people are drowning in sin. They need to come to Jesus and He will take away your sins and be free with Him.
In this scripture is saying that Jesus wants us to follow him and be with him so that we might be with him forever.
The people saw a savior as someone who would burst through the door. Someone who would take charge and have power. So they could worship their God. Our God. But if they really looked at God, they would understand that God’s works are done in love. So why would they think a strong man would burst through the door, when they know that’s not the way God works. Even though Jesus did burst through the door, being a knight in shining armor. He still has power. His power of Love. That was his weapon against everything he went through. Love.
“If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” the truth no matter what will always set you free. The lies will torture you. Saying a lie is not worth anything, it just gets you in more trouble than you already are. You will keep thinking of the lie you just did and it stays in your contentiousness until you tell the truth. The only way to be free is by always saying the truth.
I know that Jesus is God. I’ve been told it my whole life. Even so, sometimes I feel like I just do things because I “have to,” and not because I want to grow in a relationship with Christ. I think that there are things holding everyone back (whether it’s something from others or our own mind). While this may be, Jesus is always there to help us, even if we are struggling to accept Jesus into our lives.
“BUT NOW YOU ARE TRYING TO KILL ME, A MAN WHO HAS TOLD YOU THE TRUTH THAT I HEARD FROM GOD.” i still can not believe that they would try to kill a man that has heard from god and is human and divine. they thought he was a fake but he was real he saved all of us.
I think that this is saying that Jesus proved that He was God many of times and the people still didn’t believe him. If we were to look back to Jesus’ miracles, we wouldn’t even have the thought of Him not being God.
God tells us that someday we might turn against Him. He said that one day most of us will fall away from the Catholic faith even if it is for one day. But he tells us to stay strong and continue to pray every single day.
April 6: “And the truth will set you free.” This is what sticks out to me in this gospel. We all know this means that if you believe in God, you will be forever happy, but it’s more complex. Yes, you will not regret it, but life is not just immediately going to be perfect. You will still have troubles, which is why every day you have to take up your cross. The Jews questioned Jesus about this wondering how this could be. The truth will set you free when you are all in and take up your cross each day.
This scripture is telling me to stop sinning. When we sin we become slaves to it. People like sinning and continue to do it. Sinning is like doing the devil’s works. When we stop sinning and become good we become free. We stop doing the devil’s works.
Jesus told us how sinning makes you a slave of sin. When you sin it holds you back and you become a slave to that sin. But when you go to confession, you are free from your sin. Jesus forgives you and He has the power to free you from sin through forgiveness.
We are created in God’s image. God has a plan for us and we need to live out the plan. We need to appreciate what God has given to us.
“If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” We already know that God is The Way, The Truth, and the Life, and in today’s gospel Jesus tells us that the truth will set us free, Jesus is the truth, and Jesus will set us free.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus is telling me that we should all trust in Him and believe that He is the truth. “The truth will set you free.” We shouldn’t doubt in Him. If we don’t want to stress about the future and the truth, we should believe in Him.
Jesus says that sin enslaves us. Jesus can set us free from slavery if we remain in him. We can free ourselves from the slavery of sin if we go to confession and the Eucharist.
I think that this Scripture passage is telling me that I need to believe God when He tells us He is the one and only Messiah. He even showed us by miracles, and coming down from Heaven to die on the cross for us.
When you believe in God he will always be there with you. God did so much for us and we need to appreciate him. God wants to lead us in the right path but we have to believe he’s there with us.
Jesus is once again claiming to be Messiah, and they are giving excuses and saying, “well Abraham is my father” and “God is my Father” I only listen to them. Jesus is one with the Father. He is Love, and Truth. Why would we try to kill God? We don’t. Yet we killed Jesus. Now it’s time to recognize that Jesus is God and He saved us.
Today, Jesus is throwing the people for a loop. They are telling him that they are the sons of Abraham. He then says that if they truly were, they wouldn’t be trying to kill him. That if they truly were the sons of God, then they wouldn’t be trying to kill the son of God. Why do we kill the son if we want to be with the Father
If you want to love God, you have to love Jesus too because Jesus, God the Father and the Holy Spirit are ALL in a Trinity of perfect love. If you love Jesus, you love God. If you love the Holy Spirit, you love God the Father and Jesus.
Jesus tells that He is the Messiah. Anyone that follows Him will, the Truth will set you free. That repenting, and praying to the Lord will lead you to heaven. Not just that alone but knowing that Jesus is our Lord and no other being is. He is the example that will lead us to heaven.
In this scripture, Jesus tells us that if we believe in him, you are his true disciples, and once you know the truth, the truth will set you free. Jesus tells us that we all have only one father, which is God the Father. Jesus is telling the people that he is their savior, and he is the one who will set us free.
We have one Father, God.” God is good, God is love, he is trying to save the people of sin and they will not listen! We have to choose God, believe and show him our faith. God is always there for us, but we are not there WITH him.
This scripture is saying that the Lord is our messiah and he loves us so much. We have to take time out of our day for the Lord and pray and give our whole selves to Him. Also, how the Holy Spirit can guide us so much and help us listen.
I think this Gospel is about choosing God. If WE the people choose God then good things will happen. WE the people need to focus on Jesus more and give our lives up to Him because He knows what He’s doing. Jesus is the Father WE the people need to recognize this and reflect on this.
“If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Read the Bible so you can hear his word listen to the word of the Lord.
In today’s gospel, Jesus tells us, “If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Jesus knows that soon the people will turn against Him and He is spreading the Word of God before He dies on the Cross.
What I think this is saying is that If you believe in God for only some of the things he did and not all of them then you are killing him. He just wants you to believe that everything he did was for us and was real. He died for us, He gave himself up for us. No one else on earth or in humanity could do the thing he did.
“If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” This part of the passage really stood out to me. It’s saying that if you believe Him and follow Him and stay loyal to Him you will receive eternal life.
This is telling us that we need to listen to God. He always tries to talk to us and warn us but our distractions are in the way. Put him first.
There will always be a person who will try and convince you that God is dead and he will never be alive. But you have to tell them my God’s not dead he is surely alive. Tell them he’s living on the inside roaring like a lion. Let your hope arise, and make the darkness hide.
This scripture reflection is talking about how everyone is not a slave of sin. And that we will always have a son that always will stay with us.
I think it is saying that when we sin we our not following Christ and doing His will. We can’t sin because then we get farther away form God and we don’t want to do that. It puts us off the path and hurts our wellbeing and us spiritually.
In todays Scripture Jesus is talking about sin. He says you can not say your free unless you have not sined, but you can get those sins forgiven by the Son of God. We all need to be gratful of Gods mercy and kindness
God sent us to this earth with a purpose. To teach others and share his will to get others to heaven.
Jesus is saying that he is the truth, the truth that will free us. We have to believe that he was sent down from God to free us. We have to believe that he is the true Son of God.
In today’s Scripture Jesus tells His disciples to ‘remain in His word’. He also says that when they remain in His word they will know the truth and the truth will set them free. This also applies to us because when we start believing what Jesus is saying then we can have truth and happiness.
Today the people say that God is their one true Father, but Jesus doesn’t believe them saying, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and am here.” Jesus is trying to hint that He is God.
In today’s Scripture Jesus tells His disciples to ‘remain in His word’. He also says that when they remain in His word they will know the truth and the truth will set them free. This also applies to us because when we start believing what Jesus is saying then we can have truth and happiness.
This reading is telling us the gap that sin puts between us and God. Whenever we sin, a huge chasm opens up in which we cannot cross it without repenting. The punishment for sin is death and Jesus made it so that we didn’t have to die for our sins. While we don’t have to give up our own life for our mistakes, we are still bound by the sins we have committed if we don’t go to confession for them. Jesus is teaching us how serious commiting a mortal sin really is. In the ancient times, you would be stoned if a sin that you commited was made known to the people. We need to be thankful that God is their to take the weight of our sin for us because we would not be able to do it by ourselves.
God never once sinned, but somehow we still have the audacity to call Him a liar. He saves us from our sins, but sometimes He gets called names that belong to a sinner. One line specifically stuck out to me from this Gospel.
“Jesus said to them, ‘If God were your Father, you would love me,
for I came from God and am here;
I did not come on my own, but he sent me.'” God makes it clear as can be to us that He is truly God. We need faith to believe in God. God loves us and longs for us to be with Him eternally. God is our loving and forgiving Father. We were created with Him and we are meant to return to Him after death. Live for God and we will live with God eternally.
What the gospel is telling me is that we never are thinking that we are actually sinning. We sin so often that we don’t even think about it. Sin is such a power thing on our soul that we should try not doing. If we pray more and ask the Lord to help us pray we will grow closer to him and not sin as much. Jesus say in the gospel “You will be set free” what this is telling me that when we say our sins we will have peace in our soul.
Today’s Scripture passage is saying that we need to believe in our Creator, Jesus Christ. We need to know that He’s always watching us and when we sin we hurt Him. When we sin we dang ourselves further and further away from God. When we believe in Him, we are able to know that we are being brought down the right path with Him.
To me this mean that we are trying to kill God which is never a good thing to think about. Every time we lie to Christ or even lie to another human being we are Hurting the living God which is sad.
jesua i alall was he don efre tyhinf for us
I think the scripture is saying that Jesus is setting us free of our sins because they make us slaves of sin. Jesus sets us free from sin by dying on the cross for us, the people who betrayed him.
Even if you’re not enslaved you’re still not fully free from temptation and God tells the men and women that believed in Him that they are not free yet because they are sinning against Him and they aren’t fully listening to Him and that needs to change.
This gospel tells us about how Jesus is the true God. There are many things that show that he is God. For example miracles like healing the sick turning water to wine. He is the true Father of everyone.
This scripture today is very powerful to me. This scripture today is telling us that he is the Savior and is the only One who can be the Savior. Jesus will be the only one who can judge us on our final day. He is the only one who knows EVERYTHING we have ever done. He forgives but we have to be willing to be truly sorry. He saved us by dying on a cross and sacrificing his whole self. I think a Jesus is the true definition of a Savior.
This passage clearly obliterates the saying : “Seeing is believing” You don’t have to see to believe, and a lot of the time, when you don’t see something, that creates more belief. For example, Unicorns. Many people don’t think that they’re real, because no ones ever seen one. If that’s true, could it not be that they are just really good at hiding, or live in some other magical dimension? I’m telling you, unicorns are REAL. In the same way that some people believe in Unicorns, we believe in God. We might not see him, but that doesn’t mean that he’s not there. God is always with us, in our hearts, our minds, and our souls. God is everywhere.
“I did not come on my own, but he sent me.” Jesus isn’t doing this for fun, He was send down by His Father. He is doing His Father’s will.
This scripture is telling us that if you sin you are a slave to the devil but if we fight sin and the devils evil works then we will be set free.
I think the Scripture is saying Jesus reveals to us that he is the savior. The Jews didn’t believe that Jesus had come to save us. They mocked and made fun of Jesus. Jesus is the savior. We have to believe that. Jesus died to save us. He died so we can get to Heaven to be with him. We have to always remember that Jesus is the messiah.
“If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” what i think this is saying is that if we continue to believe in God’s word then we will be true disciples. we will know the truth about Jesus and we will be set free. we will join Jesus Christ in Heaven as long as we continue to believe and be true disciples of God.
In today’s scripture we see that the Jews want to kill Jesus because he says that he is God. We hear the Jews saying Abraham is there father and that God is not. They also mentioned that Abraham tells them every action to take. God is confused by this because Abraham believed in God and never would tell them to kill him. Another thing that stuck out to me was this statement,“If God were your Father, you would love me,
for I came from God and am here;
I did not come on my own, but he sent me.”
This is what I got out of the Gospel today.
In today’s scripture Jesus said to the Jews. “If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples,
and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” So if we are loyal to God then we are true disciples to Him. Which means doing what we did for Lent. Going to Mass every Sunday. Saying are before meals prayer. This is some of the stuff we need to do to get to Heaven.
What God is saying is that he is God. The Jews didn’t like that one bit. But what he is saying here is that if God is their Father they shouldn’t be trying to kill him because they are trying to kill his sin. But they think it’s all blaspheme. We just need to not be like the Jews and trust in what Jesus is telling us.
The was telling the people that He was the Son of God, and that He was sent by God, but the Jews weren’t believing Him. They thought that He was lying and that they only had one father, Abraham, and one God, God. They didn’t believe that Jesus was sent by God and are trying to kill Him because they thought that He was lying.
Jesus is the Messiah. The Bible is referring to us as the Jews. We started off following Jesus and slowly we don’t believe in the truth that Jesus is telling us. Jesus said that if God was your father you would love Him, if God were your son then you would love Him, if the Messiah just showed up you would love Him. So why don’t you love Jesus?
The Gospel today said that however believes in him will be his true disciple. He also says however that remains in me shall have eternal life. Jesus says that everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin. Finally the Jews thought Jesus was lying about him being the lord our God they through he was doing blasphemy
We are nearing the end of Lent, and coincinedentally, my sister ´ s birthday is on Palm Sunday. But anyway, the Devil wants us to be on screens to get us off the path. This Easter, give up something other than what you’re fasting. I gave up video games for 2 or 3 years (not counting this one) straight. Hard but doable.
Jesus once again shows us that he is one with God. For how could you love God but not love the one God has sent.
This tells me we need to believe God is the one and only he is there for us forever and ever and he will always have our backs no matter what.
Jesus is the one true ruler of the universe, but how many times do we just tell him no? He is the reason for our existence, yet we refuse to give him the love and respect he needs to be given. While we don’t try to kill him, there are certainly times when we flat out tell him no. Lets start saying yes to Jesus.
