Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Jesus said to the Pharisees:
“I am going away and you will look for me,
but you will die in your sin.Where I am going you cannot come.”
So the Jews said,
“He is not going to kill himself, is he,
because he said, ‘Where I am going you cannot come’?”
He said to them, “You belong to what is below,
I belong to what is above.
You belong to this world,
but I do not belong to this world.
That is why I told you that you will die in your sins.
For if you do not believe that I AM,
you will die in your sins.”
So they said to him, “Who are you?”
Jesus said to them, “What I told you from the beginning.
I have much to say about you in condemnation.
But the one who sent me is true,
and what I heard from him I tell the world.”
They did not realize that he was speaking to them of the Father.
So Jesus said to them,
“When you lift up the Son of Man,
then you will realize that I AM,
and that I do nothing on my own,
but I say only what the Father taught me.
The one who sent me is with me.
He has not left me alone,
because I always do what is pleasing to him.”
Because he spoke this way, many came to believe in him.
Does this sound familiar? God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” EX 3:14
Our God does not hide Himself. He revealed Himself to us through Moses, then came down in the flesh and redeemed us through dying on a cross. John’s Gospel does such a good job of connecting the Old Testament to Jesus in the New Testament and showing His divinity. He continues to write about Jesus being one with the Father and Jesus claiming to the 1st century Jews that he is the one they have been waiting for, the Messiah.
Today, Jesus is asking us if we believe he is the Messiah. If Jesus walked the earth today and claimed to be God and the Messiah, would you believe? I would want a lot of proof and I would ask a lot of questions, but at first I would probably judge or criticize harshly. How well would you know the Scriptures that prophesied about Jesus so if a man walked into your school or church you would recognize Him as the Son of God? If Jesus claimed to be God to you right now, what would you think? This guy is absolutely crazy. Claiming to be God is the most radical claim anyone can make. But, I would look into His claim and start searching, seeking, looking for Truth.
The fact of the matter is if Jesus stood right next to us today and said He is God there is still one thing missing, WE MUST BELIEVE. This requires a lot of wrestling with God. Asking a lot of questions (prayer; reading the Bible and Catechism of the Catholic Church; gaining knowledge but ultimately it comes down to FAITH). Anyone can claim anything, but we have to make a conscious decision to believe in something. Fr. Mike Schmitz says, “What we believe is what we belong to and what we belong to is how we live and what we are willing to die for”. Many people make great promises, but God made a covenant people. He gave His very life, His blood, in that covenant. God makes miracles happen all over the world still today through His people. But the fact remains there can only be one Truth, one God who is Truth.
Can that Truth rise among all of the information that bombards us in our technological world? There can only be one God. The world would be completely different if there were multiple gods. They would be competing against each other like Percy Jackson and the Greek and Roman myths. The Jewish Scriptures claim there can only be one Messiah. Jesus quotes from these Jewish Scriptures many times while on earth. Jesus claims there is only one Savior, “I am the narrow gate” MT 7:13, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life” JN 14:6 (We’re getting to this one on Holy Thursday). He says, “I am the light of the world”. At the illegal trials before the Jewish Sanhedrin the night He was betrayed Jesus is asked if He is the Son of God and He responds, “I am” MK 14:62.
According to Bishop Barron, Jesus is the only religious leader who claimed to be God. It took 4 great councils in the early Catholic Church to look into this claim. The result, Jesus is human and divine, one Divine person with two natures-Hypostatic union. This teaching has not changed since the 4th century and we proclaim it every Sunday in the Nicene Creed. Our search for the Truth must be in the Scriptures, the Church, and in our hearts by spending time in silence talking and asking Jesus questions; most importantly learning how to listen to Him.
Why would God not answer these questions for you? He did not create us and then leave us alone (Deism). He created us out of love to love which leads us back to Him. His one desire as Father is our friendship. He wants us to know His Will. He loves us more than we love ourselves; He created us. He wants us to be with Him in our heavenly home; He saved us a place. Jesus reminds us, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Finally, we must make a decision and live it every day, the consequences are eternal, “For if you do not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins.”
Today’s challenge: As Matthew Kelly puts in his Lenten book “Rediscover Jesus”, we must ask ourselves the Jesus Question at some point in our life. Is Jesus who He says He is? Today, I think would be a good day to do it. Are you ready to be transformed? It is scary. Take a spiritual risk, your life will change forever. You will know where you are going and you will be at peace, full of joy, and live for others.
Be a servant, become a saint!

This shows us that Jesus is talking about Heaven and he is telling the pharisees that the will go to hell.
Being with God is very important, having a relationship is very important, He is Yahweh. He is the true King and Ruler, He is the most loving and forgiving man ever.
Jesus is talking about Heaven and he’s telling the pharisees that they will go to hell.
Jesus now tells us that he is I AM. He is the living God. We can look at the cross and be healed, just as the Israelites looked at the bronze serpent and were healed.
“You belong to this world, but I do not belong to this world.” Can you imagine someone saying this to you? Would you believe them? Would you leave them? It is easy to pretend that we will be all faithful and never waver in our decisions, but would we really do that? Every day we should pray to become strong enough to defend and preach our faith.
Jesus is the one way of life. We have to fully commit to Him or we will never be happy. We can’t be half Catholics and follow the rules we want to follow we have to follow everything. We also have to make others aware of this so everyone can unite in the kingdom of heaven.
“I am going away and you will look for me, but you will die in your sin.Where I am going you cannot come.” The scripture is saying that if you do not repent you will go to heaven but if you repent to Jesus you will go to heaven. Jesus died on the cross so that we may follow him to heaven. When Jesus died he did not care about his life but our life.
i need to learn that like the snake that healed jesus on the cross is this snake
In todays gospel God is telling me in this gospel Jesus is telling the people that where He is going they cannot go with them because He is going to die for everyones sins. No one else can do that except Jesus.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son so that all who believe in Him will not die but have Eternal life.” -John 3:16
As God gave the Jews a bronze serpent to look at so that they would not die from the bite of a serpent, so to He gives His own son on a cross as a sign to all that we are saved from death and sin by his blood.
Jesus tells the people that if you do not believe that I Am you will die in your sins. We need to follow a path where we belong to the heavenly father and not earthly things.
Jesus said to the Pharisees “I AM”. Jesus said that he is God to the Pharisees. Like father said today, Jesus quoted scripture. When Moses went to the mountain he had asked God who should he tell the people who sent him. God told him to tell the people that I AM sent him.
This scripture is saying that we need to realize who God really is and inside of us. He created us, he wants us to pray with him and trust in him. He will not leave us.
Jesus died for each one of us individually. Throughout these two weeks before Easter, we need to remember that Jesus is God, and God is Love. Everyone’s greatest need is to be loved. Jesus does that for us.
I think this is saying that sometimes, believing is hard. It’s always hard, but we need to help ourselves by reading the bible, going to church, and confessing our sins. It’s important to make sure that we’re embraced in God’s will and our good.
Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice, He died so that we can live. We have to not let ourselves go into the devils temptation. God doesn’t need an explanation on who He is we just should trust in Him always and know He is there.
“You will realize that I AM.” in today’s homily, Fr. Jarrod told us that Jesus suffered on the cross for us. Jesus tells us that He is God, and the people try to prove that Jesus is human by showing that He can suffer. When Jesus died and resurrected, He opened up heaven for us and saved us, and we are reminded by the crucifix.
What I took from this gospel is that Jesus is God. I might be hard to believe but its true. Sometimes we can think that being 2 people in 1 person is unbelievable, but its not. With what we have seen was Jesus can do, like all of the miracles he has made, he can do anything. He can do anything, and we believe that. With our faith and hope, Jesus can do anything, even if it is that unbelievable.
This scripture means that every Catholic should believe in Jesus Christ his only son our Lord.
Even if you don’t understand at first, you should always have faith in Jesus.
In the Gospel Jesus says that he is I AM. The Jews don’t like this because he is saying that He is equal to God. We need to understand that Jesus is the living God. We need to follow Him in His ways so we don’t sin.
The scripture is trying to say that we have to believe. The Jews didn’t believe that Jesus was God. So they killed Him. We have to believe He is the One True God or we will fall to the devil.
In this scripture passage it’s saying that Jesus is the One. He is saying that He Is. “When you lift up the Son of Man,
then you will realize that I AM, and that I do nothing on my own, but I say only what the Father taught me.
The one who sent me is with me.” Jesus Is “I AM”.
In today’s scripture we read on how we need to understand how amazing the crucifix is. Jesus Christ is nailed on it for our sins yet some people just see it as a symbol of the church and not a symbol of how much God loves us.
In today’s reading “For if you do not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins” stuck out to me because in the mass Fr Jarrod showed us how throughout out the bible Jesus is always called I AM and that just shows that Jesus knew who he was and we there to help the people just as God is here to help us.
I find the way Jesus reveals Himself as the son of God to be interesting. “I am going away and you will look for me, but you will die in your sin. Where I am going you cannot come.” He says this, and then people immediately assume He might kill Himself. “You belong to what is below, I belong to what is above. You belong to this world, but I do not belong to this world.” He’s saying it in a way that makes Him seem alien-like almost.
What reached out to me was, “Where I am going you cannot come”. What this means to me is that we can’t just sit around and do nothing and expect to get into heaven. We have to take action if we want to make it there. We don’t need to do big things either, just go out of your way to help others and that’s all it takes.
This scripture is saying that every single day we sin and we like sin and sin that we practically drowning in our sin Jesus said “I am going away and you will look for me, but you will die in your sin.Where I am going you cannot come.” it saying if we keep sinning and turn away from god and you fall away from the church that you might not be able to go to heaven since all you have done is sin and sin and not got to confession and that why Jesus died for us on that cross so that we would be able to go to heaven with him.
They did not want to believe that Jesus was God’s Son. They wanted to show that he was human like the rest of us and that he could feel pain. They want to hang him on a Cross to let him die because God can’t die. The difference between a cross and a crucifix is that Jesus is on a crucifix but not on the cross. A crucifix is supposed to show the devil that we are not afraid of the devil.
This scipture is reminding us that Jesus saved us from sin. Jesus is our savior.
In today’s Gospel Jesus tells us that He is “I Am”. I Am is the name God went by when Moses asked God what his name was. Jesus is telling us that He is God. In today’s reading it tells us the story of how Moses makes a bronze snake and mounts it on a pole. This relates to Jesus dying on the cross because when we look at the crucifix, it heals us.
I think this scripture is telling us realize that Jesus is truly Jesus the son of God. We don’t always have to see to believe in him.
Today Jesus is clamming He Is Who Is. It is hard to believe that a person just like us could be God. The thing is that Jesus in not like us. Jesus is the living Savior. Jesus is human but He is a human who LOVES God. We need to LOVE God just like Jesus does.
A crucifix is a cross with Jesus on it, and it is more important because it shows fully that he died for our sins. He suffered so we may have eternal life. It shows how much he cares for us by showing the thorns, nails in his feet and hands, and the blood and skin ripped. It shows we have power against satan to choose what we do because of him.
today the gospel is telling me that Our God does not hide Himself. He revealed Himself to us through Moses, then came down in the flesh and redeemed us through dying on a cross.
I think today’s scripture passage is trying to tell us that Jesus does not hide from us, but reveals himself to us. It is telling us that we need to have a strong belief in God because he gave up his life for us.
This scripture is telling us that we look at the Crucifix to remember that God died for us so that we could have eternal happiness with him. It sounds weird that we look at someone dying and them dying brings us eternal life, but that is why God is God and he is pure love.
I think that this is reminding us to not forget to believe in Jesus. He is the Son of God and some people didn’t believe that. He proved them wrong when he died and rose from the dead.
In Scripture, Jesus tells us that heaven and hell are real. God is in heaven. “That is why I told you that you will die in your sins.” Sin is death. It leads us to hell. We need to repent for our sins if we want to go to heaven with God. Jesus takes away our sins.
what the scripture is telling me is that we need to be an example of God through others around us. when Jesus says “I AM” that sounds like God talking through Jesus because God said “I AM WHO I AM” to Moses.
“because he said, ‘Where I am going you cannot come’?” He said to them, “You belong to what is below, I belong to what is above. You belong to this world, but I do not belong to this world.” Jesus is saying how He will not dwell on the earth any longer, that He will go up to heaven. He said that the people belong in this world, and that He does not. He is foreshadowing the Resurrection and Ascension.
God is our only savior in this world there is no one like him. You can be saved if you are with God that is the only way that you can be saved. No one in this world can save you besides God.
“He is not going to kill himself, is he,” whoever said this is wrong because if Jesus would have killed himself they would not be able to go still. He would go to God and they can not for they are sinners and do not repent.
What stood out to me was, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will realize that I AM, and that I do nothing on my own, but I say only what the Father taught me.” It stood out to me because we learned this today at mass. It just spoke to me in a way. I feel that God will always be with no matter how old we are. We will realize that is God. God the Father will teach us the way He wants to teach us.
We cannot go with Jesus because He is truly divine and sinless and we humans are sinful. He is going to Heaven while we stay on Earth. We cannot go to Heaven because of the sin on our souls. However, if we believe in Jesus and that He will save us, we can go to Heaven with Him and be happy with Him.
Jesus said I am, who am, Jesus is telling us that he is the one. But people didn’t believe him. So then Jesus said “Go you can not come with me” the people thought that Jesus was going to do something bad but he just meant you can’t follow because you don’t believe. we have to believe in God to get to heaven.
Jesus is telling the people that he is God. That is he is here on earth to complete the fathers will. He is really showing us that he is God, that he is both human and divine, that he is the one that is going to save us! To let us have eternal life, to live with him in heaven forever.
He is foreshadowing the Resurrection and Ascension in what He said.
Jesus says he does not belong to this world. This reminds me of how I can get attached to the things of this world. However, I should be detaching from the things of the world. Because we are to go to the Father in the next life.
God sent His only Son to prove that we beat death and Satan. People tried to get Jesus to break to “try to prove that he is not God,” but in reality, he broke to save them and everyone else including us.
What this scripture reflection says to me is that we all need to make sure that we truly believe in God. Because if we don’t, then we will go to hell.
“For if you do not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins.” God says that if you don’t believe that God is true one and only God then you will die of your sins. But if you believe that He is the one and true God then He will save us from our sins.
If you don’t believe God is the true God you will die in your sins. For God to forgive us of our sins we have to believe in Him. We can go to confession but if we don’t believe in God it’s not doing us any good.
Where I am going, you cannot come. If you do not follow me, you will die in your sins. We belong in Hell, until we are saved by Jesus’ grace and mercy. His death is what saves us from death. He gave us life by dying with our sins and sufferings. Follow Him and we will go where Jesus went. With the Father.
WHat I got from this Gospel is that Jesus is the I AM in everyone’s life. Jesus is our trophy or the buzzer beater of the game. WE the people are not the I AM. WE the people need to give our life up for Jesus because he is the “I AM.”
When God says, I AM he is talking to us that he is the one for us to follow, the one that died for us. The crucifix is our trophy of God saving us for death and for our sins. I AM WHO AM, Yahweh. God is love, God is truth, therefore, Lord help us in our faith.
“For if you do not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins.” Today Jesus tells us “I AM,” he is God. The pharisees wanted proof of Him. They wouldn’t just believe Him. The question that I have to ask myself is: Do I know Jesus well enough that I would know it is Him when I saw Him? Have I tried to read the scriptures and see what Jesus is trying to tell me? Do we believe that if we try, Jesus will help us? These are the questions that I find asking myself when I read this gospel. Asking myself these questions will help me strive here on earth for heaven.
I think that this scripture passage is telling me that if I don’t believe in God, He’s not going to stop loving us, but He can’t protect us from our sins if we don’t at least try to build up a relationship with Him.
When Jesus says ” I am Who am”, he is saying that he is ONE with the Father and the Holy Spirit. They are united in perfect love to form the Trinity. Basically, Jesus IS God and God IS Jesus
In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells us straight out, that he is God. this is what separates us from other religions, we believe Jesus IS God, He IS, he’s not a symbol or a prophet, he is God, I Am Who Am. The Pharisees said that no one can be God, but yet, Christ is, because he loved us, and because we are not an alone people.
“I AM WHO I AM” -God. Jesus walks strait up to the pharisees and basically tells them that he is God. This is brave. The pharisees want to kill the Jesus and they eventually do. But, that does not stop Jesus from telling us the truth and proving that he is God through the Resurrection.
This scripture is telling me to believe. Jesus came down to Earth and said he was God. If some random person said that I would not believe. But Jesus is different. Jesus did miracles and helped people. He defeated death. Why do we not believe still? People still don’t believe and are confused. This is why we need to believe.
Today, Jesus is saying I AM. It is said in exodus that God is I AM WHO AM. Jesus is saying not only that he himself is the son of God, but that he IS GOD. THAT’S BLASPHEMY. How can a human man who was born in Israel be not only the son of God, but God himself.
In today’s Gospel, I believe that Jesus is telling us that there is no other God and that He was the true Son of God. I also think that He’s telling us that we cannot replace Him for what He did for us such as taking away the sins of the world and opening the gates of Heaven, but to spread His love and keep His name known.
This gospel reflects on how we are reminded that Jesus died for us. One of these reminders in the Crucifix. The Crucifix shows the suffering and pain He went through to save us. That if they don’t believe that He is I AM, they will die in their sins.
Today Jesus said “I do nothing on my own, but I say only what the Father taught me.” This is similar to what happens in the Agony in the Garden. Jesus is suffering so much that He asks God to let it stop, but only if it happens according to His will. Jesus went through all of this because it was what God wanted for Him, and we should do the same.
The scripture is telling me that if you want a relationship with God you have to find him and do what God would want you to do. We all have times where we act up and just forget about God but if we remember that he is there with us then He can help us do what is right. We have to always be listening to God because he knows what is best for us.
When God made us, he gave us free will. An option. God doesn’t want us to leave him but it was our choice. Whether you live your afterlife with God or in hell. In this scripture, Jesus tells the Pharisees that where he will go they cannot come. Jesus tells them that he will die for their sins, and it is their choice if they want to go to heaven with Jesus or not. This also shows that Jesus knew that he would die. God sent his only Son to die for our sins, and sometimes we take advantage of that.
I think this is saying that the Lord has done so much for us and how we have to carry our own crosses. He is always the answer and a safe place to go at anytime. He loves us so much and is waiting for us at the gates of Heaven.
I think God is telling us to love him becais e he made us excactly for that and that he is the majer of the universe
The scripture today says that “FOR IF YOU DO NOT BELIEVE THAT I AM, YOU WILL DIE IN YOUR SINS.” This significe that If you live in constant sin your whole life God will not accept you into heaven as his son.
What I got from today’s gospel is that we need to believe that He is our Savior and He can save us from our sins. We have to be better and not sin as much or keep committing the same sins over and over again. When we do, He still loves us, but it just puts us even more off the path. Which is not good cause we are trying to be on the path.
“You belong to this world but I do not belong to this world” Jesus said. Because he is the son of God he belongs in Heaven at the right hand of the Father.
In the scripture passage today Jesus is saying that we need confession. That is why I told you that you will die in your sins. For if you do not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins.” He is saying that if we don’t go to confession then we will die in our sins and go to hell.
The gospel is telling me that if when leave the Lord he will still always be with us. And when we fall out of love with the Lord He will always be there to make sure we are still praying.
Jesus is never wrong. He physically can not be wrong. As humans we are the ones who are wrong. When I tell myself I am not enough I have to listen to Jesus. Because sometimes I am fighting these voices in my mind that say I am not enough. Every single lie I tell myself that says I will never measure up. sometimes I wonder if I am more than just the sum of every high and low, sometimes I need someone to remind me once again because I just need to know. But he says I am loved when I don’t feel a thing, He says i am strong when I think I am weak, and when i I feel I don’t belong he says I am his.
Jesus is telling the Pharisees that he is God’s Son, and that God sent him to this world. Jesus said that he didn’t belong in that world but he belonged in heaven. They didn’t believe that he was the true Son of God, because they expected a king who was more controlling. We need to not let our expectations overcome us If what we expect does not come true we have to accept it.
What I think this is saying is that if you don’t love God and give your sins up to him you soul will just rot and you will die. You could live for eternity just by love and believing in God and giving yourself up to him just how he gave his life up for us.
In this scripture its talking about how Jesus is the beginning and that they are speaking to the father almighty
In this passage, Jesus says that He is going somewhere that no one else can. At first everyone thinks that He is going to kill Himself, but of course He isn’t. This is a powerful moment in history, and it is a moment that helps us believe. It’s a moment of foreshadowing.
In today’s Scripture the Pharisees did not realize that Jesus was talking about the Father. They didn’t like that He was calling Himself I AM. They were not able to realize what he was actually talking about. We sometimes also need to open our minds to be able to realize how much Jesus sacrificed for us.
In todays Scripture, Jesus is saying that he is going somewhere that the Pharisees can not follow him were he his going. He is going to heaven and the Pharisees can not follow because they have’d sined
In today’s Scripture the Pharisees did not realize that Jesus was talking about the Father. They didn’t like that He was calling Himself I AM. They were not able to realize what he was actually talking about. We sometimes also need to open our minds to be able to realize how much Jesus sacrificed for us.
I think that this reading is kind of like the final message that Jesus gives to us before he gives us the ultimate sign of his divinity. He tells everyone that HE IS which is him saying that he is Yahweh. That is the name that the Jews had for God and it was so sacred that you could be stoned just for saying it. Jesus saying this would have been a huge thing and an obvious sign that He is truly God. Jesus would’ve known not to say the he is Yahweh if he wasn’t actually God. We need to take these signs and live our life in Communion with God.
Jesus spent His whole life trying to let us see that He is I AM. He’s given us sign after sign. He tells us He is I AM, and He proves it by dying on the cross for our sins and resurrecting to save us. We need God in order to have eternal life. We need God in order to love in life. God is the way and Jesus is I AM.
This is saying that Jesus loves everybody no matter what. If you don’t love him, he sure loves you. If you do love him then your graces will be filled.
Jesus is sent from God. He is the son of God and He is I AM. God loved us so much that he had His own son, He had Him die on the cross to save us. Jesus also loved us so much that He died for each and everyone of us.
jesua is all was with as dring the hard timens
The whole “I am who am” meaning “Yahweh” is really interesting to me. Jesus could just say “I am who I am” could have some major effect.
I think this scripture talks about how God is Jesus and that Jesus will die for our sins.
Just because the people that are in power are denying something, doesn’t mean that we have to listen to them. The Pharrisees were admant about Jesus being a faker. Just because they feel that way doesn’t mean that we have to listen to them. We are our own person, and we don’t have to share the thoughts and opinions of someone else. Be yourself, be true to yourself and others, and be your own person.
This scripture has taught me that we need to know that God has been sen to us. I learned that “I am who I am.” Is very important. This is a very good scripture to reflect on and I think that Mass today really helped me understand this scripture passage.
I think the Scripture is saying we have to truly believe in Jesus. We have to pray with meaning. We can’t pray without meaning because that will just show Jesus how much we love Him. When we pray everyday and do it with meaning we will know Jesus better.
The Scripture is telling us to remember that Jesus was sent from Heaven and that He was meant to die so we should not go looking for Him, He shall come and find us.
The scripture today has a lot of different and great meanings. Some of the main meanings in this scripture is that God is both human and divine. There is none like him. He is the almighty savior. He has never sinned. He is divine and pure, and will always be, you can’t be better than him, you never will. We need to get out of our own self and realize everything he has done. He sacrificed his whole self for us sinners. He went through bad things for us sinners to just ignore him and call him fake. During lent, we should be realizing all the sacrifices he went through for us to be here today.
I think the scripture is saying that we need to believe in God and Jesus for they are the, “I AM”. Moses told the Israelites “I AM sent me”, meaning the most high sent him.
I think that Jesus is trying to warn all of the Pharisees and warning them to not sin as much as they do in their day to day life because they will not make it to Heaven. Since they have been condemning men to death for doing barely anything. They let a mass murderer out and crucified a man that was not even telling any lies and they would lie about him doing bad things.
The Gospel today said that Jesus is going somewhere where you cannot find him or look for him. It also says that he will die for our sins.
This is trying to tell us that Jesus is God but he is fully man too. Cause when God appeared to Moses he said, “Who shall I say who sent me.” God said, “I am who am.”
“I am going away and you will look for me,but you will die in your sin.Where I am going you cannot come.” what i think that this is saying is that Jesus is going to heaven and we must try our best to get there and be with him. But those of us who have really bad sins and who do not go to confession will not see Jesus in heaven. But that is all of our goals in life is to get to heaven to be with Jesus Christ.
Jesus in today’s scripture says he is I AM, the Lord. He says “You belong to what is below,
I belong to what is above.” He is saying He belongs on the right hand of the Father. While we belong to Earth and will someday go to Heaven.
I think God is telling us to believe him because he is the creator and maker of all of us. HE is the only one who can forgive the bad things we do.
Transforming and becoming Catholic is scary. God is putting our loyalty and faith to the test. Believing in Him means giving ourselves up to him. We must put our worries into God’s hands and let him do the rest. Just trust Him.
I think God is telling us to trust him. He is telling us who he is but people still don’t believe him. I think we only believe what society says is true. The reason people killed Jesus is because he said, “I am.” In saying that he said he was God which he is but is God and they didn’t trust him. So that’s why they crucified him and we need to not be like them and trust God in all he does.
“FOR IF YOU DO NOT BELIEVE THAT I AM, YOU WILL DIE IN YOUR SINS.” Jesus died for our sins and we keep sinning. if we don´t believe in him he won believe in us and we will parish in our sin and we will wither like dead roses.
Yahweh. I am. God said to Moses,” I am who I am” He meant that their is no one greater than him. He is the Alpha and the Omega.
Jesus is saying we Believe and that is what the scripture is about is about us Believing that He is the Messiah.
God is always with us. He will never leave us. You also have to believe in God. He is our savior and our father.
Jesus says that we should believe and trust in Him. If He must go somewhere without us we must have faith that He will come back to us.
