Today, Jesus teaches us the value of service and not allowing rules to be bigger than love. An ill man of 38 years could not make it to the waters before everyone else. Jesus has compassion for him and heals him. This day happens to be the Sabbath when no work is permitted. The Pharisees are so blind that they do not even rejoice that the ill man was healed. They have blinded themselves with rules instead of compassion and they want Jesus gone.
Today, put down your electronics to serve someone. Pray for someone else besides yourself and spend time with someone that nobody else hangs out with.
Follow God’s laws and rejoice in Jesus who has compassion on His people. Don’t get caught up in yourself so much that you forget others.
