“He called God his own father, making himself equal to God.”

In John’s Gospel, Jesus speaks fighting words.  Imagine someone coming into your school or home and claiming to be equal to God.  You would think they were crazy.  Well, the Jews had the authority to kill those who blaspheme.  So, rightfully so they wanted to kill Him.  This brings us to the foundation of our Faith-who Jesus Christ is and why do we follow Him.  If Jesus claims to be one with the Father and equal to Him, He is the biggest liar and the Devil.  Or Jesus is who He says He is, the Messiah, the Second Person of the Trinity.  Jesus has either convinced billions of people through His Words and His Works during His life and after His life through the Holy Spirit and Eucharist that He is a phony or He is the Savior of the world.  I think anyone can figure this out and this has strengthened my faith more than anything.  Jesus is God and the Savior of the world or He is not.  If He is not then He is what other religions claim Him to be, another prophet, or a holy teacher.  I have complete trust and faith in Jesus Christ as the Savior of the world.  I want to share this with as many people as possible, so they too can share in eternal life.  Seek the Truth and you will find it-Jesus Christ.  
        I have to steal part of Fr.Orr’s homily this morning on doing God’s will.  He made an awesome point about knowing whether you are doing God’s will or not.  Today, Jesus said He is one with the Father and does what the Father Wills.  So, if you don’t know what God wills in your life, look at the life of Jesus and that is the Father’s Will.  What does Jesus preach as the center of all of His teachings, to love.  Stop worrying and being analytic about your every choice.  Jesus makes it simple, just love.  If you are loving, your are doing God’s Will, if you are not, you are not doing God’s Will.
