Prayer Prompt before reading LK 5:1-11 Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray well, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father is and God the Son so that I may know who I am.
“CAN YOU MAKE THE WEDDING GUESTS FAST WHILE THE BRIDEGROOM IS WITH THEM?” LK 5:33-39
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
“Jesus is the wedding of heaven and earth, the marriage of divinity and humanity; he is the bridegroom and the Church is the bride. In him, the most intimate union is achieved between God and the world.” -Bishop Barron daily meditations
The divine became human so the human could become divine. Today, take time to reflect on the Passion of Christ at Mass, in the stations of the cross, in silence at adoration or in a quiet church. Without Christ, nothing is possible or has purpose. Give Him His due by spending time with Him in His suffering.
Invite him into your suffering and talk to him about it. He knows what it means to suffer. Our sins caused this suffering, the least we can do is pause today and take time to be with Christ in a very intimate intentional way.
So what is the answer to a fulfilling spiritual life or experience? Total submission, complete vulnerability, total confidence in God and not self, and an open heart and mind to the grace that Christ wants to give you so you can be transformed and be holy. Enjoy the ride!
Today’s challenge: Allow the Divine to make you holy through the Mass, Stations of the Cross, silent prayer, Works of Mercy, reading the Bible, and evangelizing your children then go spread the Good News to all you meet!
Be a servant, be a saint today!
#Christian YODO (You Only Die Once; we will live again!)
He knows what it means to suffer. Our sins caused this suffering, the least we can do is pause today and take time to be with Christ in a very intimate intentional way.
I think Jesus is telling me is that will I have the will to stay strong in my faith while surrounded with people from other faiths.
One thing that stod out to me was
Rather, new wine must be poured into fresh wineskins.
And no one who has been drinking old wine desires new,
for he says, ‘The old is good.
I think those works are very strong and powerful
” Can you make the wedding guest fast while the bridegroom is with them”
We should follow God and have grace love your neighboors and believe. God is real and you should become a saint!
A verse that stuck out to me was “CAN YOU MAKE THE WEDDING GUESTS FAST WHILE THE BRIDEGROOM IS WITH THEM?” LK 5:33-39
This stuck out to me because you can’t always fast at very important things.
This is the part that stuck out to me in the gospel today.
I do not even pass judgment on myself.
“The disciples of John the Baptist fast often and offer prayers,
and the disciples of the Pharisees do the same;
but yours eat and drink.”
This part says that John the Baptist’ s disciples fast and offer up prayers, the disciples of the Pharisees do the same, but Jesus’ followers eat and drink. What I think about that is if you follow false gods, or don’t fast, or be unchristian here on earth, we cannot get the plus of “eating and drinking” in Heaven.
the thing that stuck out to me was ” total confidence in God and not self and an open heart and mind to the grace that Christ wants to give you so you can be transformed and be Holy. Enjoy the ride.
No one tears a piece from a new cloak to patch an old one.
It shows that when we fast we share the pain of Jesus Christ.
A phrase that stuck out to me was ” for he brings light in what’s hidden in the darkness” this stuck out to me because I can not be the happiest sometimes or I can be anxious and God can bring me light and comfort in those dark times.
What stuck out to me is when it said our sins cause the suffering we can at least pause and take time to talk and to be with Christ.
I am giving up meat and I have two rocks in my shoe. I feel like the gospel is hard to think about today because it is a parable. But I feel like God is saying that it is not good to fix good with bad but good to fix bad with good.
The verse that stuck out to me is ”The old is good”. It stuck out because it means to me that anything in the past can still be good.
the one stuck with me is I have to be strong in faith when people have other faith that they believe in
