Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
As Jesus drew near Jerusalem,
he saw the city and wept over it, saying,
“If this day you only knew what makes for peace–
but now it is hidden from your eyes.
For the days are coming upon you
when your enemies will raise a palisade against you;
they will encircle you and hem you in on all sides.
They will smash you to the ground and your children within you,
and they will not leave one stone upon another within you
because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.” Lk 19:41-44
Jesus wept? We all know how we feel when we see someone weeping. We instantly show compassion and reach out to them. Sometimes we forget that Jesus is human. He is weeping over Jerusalem failing to see God in their midst at this moment. The One to save them. The most important lesson though is, “If this day you only knew what makes for peace.” If you do not make Jesus the center of your life (eat, sleep, and breathe Him), then you will not have peace. God rightly orders us to Himself through the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Imitating Jesus rightly orders our lives. This brings us to our hearts greatest desire, peace, holiness, heaven.
The opposite? Destruction. The beautiful thing is that God gives us a free will to choose. We get to choose our destiny, Christ already paid the bill for our sins. I am sure you have tried a lot of other things to bring you peace, I know I have. Give Jesus a try. You will not be let down. God has only one job, to love you. Take a healthy risk and seek Him in silence, love Him back. Give your whole self to Him.
Today’s challenge: When you weep, remember Jesus wept too. Jesus died to be with you in your weeping. Allow Him in. Give Jesus a chance to bring what your heart desires, peace.
Be a servant, become a saint!

Jesus is with us and we need to remember that
Jesus is with us and we need to remember that.
In today’s gospel I am hearing that most peaceful things in our world are hiden from plain sight and we have to look for it.
This gospel taught me that I should feel empathy to people who are suffering. I should pity them and treat them as a human and not as a lower being. This also told me that it’s okay to cry and I shouldn’t be scared to cry. Crying is normal, and we should accept that. We are all human and if Jesus can cry than we all can cry without feeling embarrassed or not “tough.”
This tell you that God loves every one but If you disobey him he will show no mercy. God will show you the greatest love and will show you eminence grace. No matter If you believe in him he still wants you to go to heaven.
In this gospel, Jesus said that he wept over it as referring to the city. This shows that Jesus truly cares for us and doesn’t treat us unfairly. This gospel tells us to keep our eyes open, we will never know when the devil is trying to tempt us and we need for us to not give into that.
“He saw the city and wept over it.” Jesus weeping shows us his human nature and his mercy. Jesus gives a warning to the city saying, “For the days are coming upon you when your enemies will raise a palisade against you; they will encircle you and hem you in on all sides.”
I think the scripture is saying that everyone has enemies and no matter how much people are rude to you its always good to be nice to everyone around you. You may wanna be rude but they could be having other stuff going on. I think the scripture is also saying to forgive.
It is saying that even though Jesus was true God and true Man, he still was human. He still had feeling and he when it said “Jesus wept” it put it in perspective for me that even God is a person. The things you do effect the people around you. God created everyone with feelings, and no one can be judged because everyone has a piece of God in them.
We need to recognize the times, and follow Jesus.
Jesus is human and He has feelings. He went through all the physical pain for us.
Jesus cries for the city, saying that peace is hidden from their eyes. This makes me realize that when we sin, it’s damaging and sad to watch. Jesus had to carry all that weight, died for us, and yet we’re still sinning. Its not like we can stop, we’re human after all, but I want to try harder.
Jesus wept because he saw the blindness in their eyes. The people of Jerusalem weren’t seeing his peace within themselves. They weren’t recognizing the time of the visitation.
Jesus wept because that some people don’t care about Jesus anymore or won’t go to Mass on Sundays. Won’t pray the rosary and talk with him.
i feel like this scripture is saying is that he crying because us humans are like betraying him and are doing bad stuff and and kinda let people kids do the same without them doing it like bad thing will circle around you and keep you in the circle with your children and you family because the enemies/sin will like temp you into do bad stuff
he saw the city and wept over it, saying, “If this day you only knew what makes for peace, but now it is hidden from your eyes. We are human. We make mistakes, but we have to fix them.
Jesus is divine but he is also human. He is human because we need a model of holiness. We have to imitate Him to order our life. If we act as Jesus we will find peace. Jesus wept because he is human. The shows us that the we can still be with God even though we are human.
This scripture tells us we need to love everyone. When we see someone in sorrow we need to comfort them. Jesus is sorrowful but no one comforts him. He his human and deserves love juts like everyone else.
The word that stuck out to me was palisade. palisade means a fence of iron or wood stakes. Then you would be trapped with you enemies, The reason I think this stuck out is because Jesus wepted for us. But he didn’t save us because he new we could make the right choices by our selves.
He DID save us because He knew it was going to be hard to make choices for ourselves. With His grace, we can make the choices we need to to be holy and live eternally in heaven.
What grasped me was when it said that Jesus wept. We don’t often see Jesus weep, and it’s weird knowing that the one who saved us wept; it makes sense though. Jesus only feels mercy, compassion and love for us. So it just makes sense that he weeps for us.
In the scripture today it says that Jesus wept and is think this help us to relate to the scripture because crying is a very human thing to do. If Jesus was just fully god he would he would not have cried or had any real suffering during his time on earth and he couldn’t have saved us.
Today Jesus is saying that the devil is trying to temp u in to bad things but u have to keep on praying and you will beat the devils temptation because nothing is stronger than God’s words
This scripture means that there is a city were ever you go
This scripture is saying God is human and divine and we should worship him.
I think that this scripture can be brought into our lives. I think when it says”when your enemies will raise a palisade against you; they will encircle you and hem you in on all sides. They will smash you to the ground and your children within you, and they will not leave one stone upon another within you.” it means that bad things will happen in our lives but Jesus will always be there watching over us like He did at Jerusalem. He weeps over us, like he did at Jerusalem, that shows that He cares for us. I don’t know if that was what the scripture was about, but that’s what I got out of it.
We are all human, besides the holy ones, everyone makes mistakes. Everyone cries all the time, and we all make mistakes. We also make beautiful choices, and some not so good choices. We all are human, and that’s okay, only God can save you.
we need to recongnize our city more and pay more attention to it if we dont one day we will look upon it and weep just as Jesus did.
Jesus is hallways with us wherever we go!
We should try to make choices the we know for sure will get us into heaven, because that should be our ultimate goal in life.
The scripture today talks about Jesus weeping for us. It makes sense that He wept for us because we have hurt him. We were the ones that have commited the sins not Him. We should suffer for our sins not Him but He did.
He wept over Jerusalem because we are blinded as sinners. What we may think is right could be wrong. We would think it is right because we are blinded by sin. If we don’t relize what we are doing to ourselves and other around us we will suffer because we will not have a strong conection with our savier and will most likely go to hell for not repenting and being holy.
In the scripture Jesus wept so that means he is human like everyone of us.
Except without sin and He is God
I think the scripture is telling us that we all have enemies or people don’t like as much, and that we want to be rude to them, but we should learn to forgive and to do the right thing. It is telling us that if we wanted to be treated poorly by others than we can treat others bad, but we want to be treated with respect and so does every body else.
This scripture really shows us how much Jesus cares for us. He saw the city and he wept. He wept for us. Because we were so blind to not see the true love of God. He wept because he wants us to know that he loves us. That he is going to die for our sins and will ascend into heaven and be seated at the right hand of God the Father. He just wants us to know the truth.
“wept” It isn’t often that we see Jesus weep in the gospels. Almost always we focus on his divine side, but I think we fail to notice or even remember that Jesus was human as well. In times like this, where we see that Jesus is also human. He isn’t some deity in another universe, or some spirit that is far away, or that he doesn’t understand our pains and suffering, he does! Maybe even more than we do. So remember, Jesus is human as well.
This gospel said to me that we need to know that Jesus is HERE. We cannot forget this. If Jesus is here all the time don’t we want to be holy and know where our destination is if we are holy? If we forget this we will be off the track to Heaven.
In today’s scripture, it shows that Jesus wept because He saw their blindness. Jesus is always with us, even if we can’t see Him. People are betraying Him by not doing as he asks. We all make mistakes, but we need to be aware of our mistakes and fix them. The phrase “hidden from your eyes” stuck out to me because it really shows that we don’t pay enough attention to some things that we should.
This piece of scripture is telling me that a lot of the times, people go to materialistic goods for peace and happiness. But the real place of happiness and peace is God. The trinity. The father is nonstop loving us, wanting the best for us, happiness and love from Him. The Son, is made human so He could show us how to love, and show us how to seek the everlasting love, happiness, and peace that God offers. The Holy Spirit is there to guide us on the path to heaven, guiding us to love. Heaven is our goal if we want to be happy, at peace, and loved infinitely. We must not look for materialistic things, but the One who guides us.
Jesus is trying to teach me that if this day you only knew what makes for peace. I think this is trying to say that if you only know one day you will have gratitude and peace for that. Everyone is blessed to even be alive. Everyone has there own faith. What I mean by this is that you can believe in Jesus like I do or you don’t believe in Jesus. God is the one who created us and He made everything for a reason. The nature, forms of man, animals, etc. He wants us to tell ourselves that we are good enough and that we have the courage but we hide our courage cause of fear. He is also saying that everyday is peaceful and hopeful and happy. If you sin He will always forgive you no matter what happens in life.
When I think of Jesus weeping I think of, how much sadness he feels when we sin and when we do mean things. Jesus is a human and he has feelings, just because we can’t always see him doesn’t mean that He doesn’t have emotions. So when I think of Jesus weeping I thinks its because we are still sinning and disobeying him.
Jesus is weeping. We as humans cry. Jesus is fully human and divine. He is God’s son, and He is here to save us. God sent His only son to us. God became a human.
We are a society which is so very blessed in many ways, but we often forget in our comfort, that God is always with us. Even in the suffering, even in the sorrowful times, He’s there. That’s what makes His love unrivaled. The one true love that is constant for all eternity. But when we are so caught up in the newest video games, our popularity, what people think about us, how are we ever going to find God? How are we ever going to know – truly know – God’s love for us? How are we going to understand the importance of God, and He being the center of our lives? How?
The answer is prayer. Through prayer, scripture, and sacrifice do we understand God’s love for us. It’s these things that God reveals Himself to us. Jesus is what will fill the gaping hole in our hearts. Jesus. We understand the Father through Jesus. So, talk to Jesus! Pray! Read and complete scripture reflections! I know from personal experience it’s not easy, there are so many distractions. But, isn’t God more important than all of that? Shouldn’t God be the center of our life? Just remember, Jesus will lead us to the Father, the Holy Spirit will guide us, and the Father in Heaven will always love us. Choose God.
I think the scripture is saying that we should forgive our enemies and forgive them and try to be compassionate.
Jesus is always with us and sometimes it seems like He isn’t when you’re going through a hard time just remember that He is there for you.
Jesus wept because of the sin and blindness in the city. People all over were betraying and offending him.
This scripture is telling me that most people don’t see God or Jesus. They continue to do the wrong thing. Jesus wept over the city because he felt how much sin there was and that there were many unbelievers.
People are always trying to be distractions and block Jesus out of your life, we have to find him and find the peace. He is always there for us and we always let outside stuff from the devil distract us and lead us away from him. We need to find peace, find him and then we will be happy.
Jesus did not often weep. I imagine Jesus to be a tough guy. He died on a cross without complaining so if he cried over something it must be important. He was weeping that Jerusalem did not notice the son of man. Sometimes we forget to see Jesus in our every day life. We need to try and notice Jesus today.
In today’s gospel I think Jesus is telling us that we don’t know how good we have it, until that good thing is taken away, peace is fragile, and we don’t always have it, Jesus weeps over the city who does not know what true peace is, just as he weeps over us when we are not at peace in him, he wants us to love and accept him into our hearts, he wants us to be at peace.
In today’s gospel we need to know that Jesus is Here. Jesus died for us because of our sins. Jesus took all the pain for US humans on earth. We need to recognize this and be more thankful and worship him more for what he has done for us.
The part that stood out to me today is when it said, “because you did not recognize the time of your visitation”. Jesus is telling the people that they would be destroyed by an enemy because they didn’t know they were coming. Through this He is telling us to be prepared. The devil is our enemy and we never know exactly when he is going to give us an oppurtunity to sin. We also never know when we die or when the Second Coming will happen so we can’t be unprepared.
I feel its saying that the Lord strives for us to be good good and Holy but we always turn him away and never put him first. Also, we should be ready for when the Lord comes back and judging by today’s society we really need him.
What I believe the Gospel is telling all of us is that this world was not the way God wanted it to be. He doesn’t see much peace in the world as much as He wanted to see when he created the world. There’s so much hatred and no forgiveness. There’s not much peace. There’s many things that God didn’t want to see in His creation. What if we all loved one another? Forgave each other? What if we all made peace together? What would God see in His creation now? Even if it were for at least a week, would God be satisfied? Maybe He would because He is finally seeing what He wanted to see in His creation.
Today’s Gospel is saying to be nice to everyone even if they are not nice to you. God is nice to everyone and if we want to be like him then we should also do the same. We should all work on forgiving people and being nice to them as much as we can.
To me the scripture is telling me to forgive. Forgive those who have fallen into the trap of the devil and to forgive those who have never been forgiven before. Just like what God did for us we need to forgive those who need it the most.
One thing that stuck out to me was, “If this day you only knew what makes for peace – but now it is hidden from your eyes.” Many times we forget what the world could be like because we get caught up in our own world, but if we think of others and try to make the world a better place then our world could be more peaceful. If you look at any news page, you will see headlines that bring people down and encourage negativity. When Jesus talks about enemies rising against you, I think this is what He means. We have to be that change.
The Holy Spirit in this scripture is telling me that we need God in our lives, and that we can’t be relaxed and happy without God because without him there is always an enemy in our lives trying to destroy you, and that God gives the greatest happiness that’s better than anyone could ever imagine.
This scripture reflection is telling me that when times get tough, we need to be ready to fight back. We need to be ready to stick with Jesus, even if it means life or death. If we do this, then we will get to heaven and live an amazing eternal life.
I think that Jesus is trying to tell me that there are going to bad things that happen to us, but we have to remember what’s truly important. We need to remember that the only thing we need is God and the Eucharist. We need to talk to God every day and strengthen our relationship with Him, so that we may be able to enter an eternal life with Him in Heaven.
This gospel speaks of Jesus weeping for the city. It show that He was human too. He also had empathy too. In our sorrows He is always with us to comfort us. That is how empathetic and understanding He is. Jesus not being in your life is an empty feeling, but if we learn to trust in Him more we won’t forget Jesus will always be there for us.
The Holy Spirit in this scripture is telling me that we need God in our lives, and that we can’t be relaxed and happy without God because without him there is always an enemy in our lives trying to destroy you, and that God gives the greatest happiness that’s better than anyone could ever imagine. We always need God.
Today, Jesus is telling us about how oblivious Jerusalem is. He is weeping for the city because they cannot see who he truly is. He is weeping for all the sinners and the saints who will not understand who he truly is and what his purpose is. How many times have we been in Mass and we haven’t truly recognized what we are worshiping. I know I have a lot. How many times have we been told that Jesus is alive, in the tabernacle, and chosen to ignore it because if we were to truly accept it then we would need to confront our sins head on. That is a scary thing to do. Most of us just want to sweep them under the rug, make them seem like it’s not that big of a deal, explain away our sins. But if we recognize that Jesus is right there, in the tabernacle, then we have to come face to face with them. When we were little, we were told about the armor of God, which if we do certain things like read scripture and pray, we will be given the armor of God to help us fight Satan and all his evil doings. Well we need to start to take this kid’s idea of the armor of God a little more seriously, because if we do, then we can fight the temptations and truly recognize who God is. And if we do that, then we are better than most of Jerusalem, because Jesus won’t need to weep for us
It is saying that even though Jesus was true God and true Man, he still was human. He still had feeling and he when it said “Jesus wept” it put it in perspective for me that even God is a person. The things you do effect the people around you. God created everyone with feelings, and no one can be judged because everyone has a piece of God in them.
I think Jesus is trying to tell us that we need to be nice to everyone and that we need to forgive anyone and everything because we don’t know what is going on in there lives outside of school and work.
Jesus weeps over the city, but in His heart he is weeping for us and all the harships we will have to endure. He doesn’t want us to suffer, yet it is apart of life. We need to turn to God for peace.
“Jesus wept.” When I think of Jesus I sometimes think that sinse he was perfect he did not have emotion. Sometimes I think he did not cry or he was never sad or he never got angry. But Jesus became human just like us. And that means that he had emotion, he had visions of how he was going to die the worst death. So of course he was stressed and emotional. This shows that it does not matter who you are you can and should show emotion.
When Jesus was weeping over the city I feel like it should be a reminder to take a second and appreciate what has been given to you and what resources you have. We need to recognize that we are very blessed to have what we have and to be able to go to a catholic church. It’s a privilege and I think we take advantage of that sometimes.
He is saying that when he approached the town he was filled with sorrow for how much sins and sinners were in the town. He felt the evil presence of the devil and wished that if only the people knew what this would do for them.
I feel like this is telling us for when times get tough, don’t give up and strive for the Lord. God will always be here for us no matter what and we really need to understand that fact more.
Todays Scripture is about Jesus weeping for the city this proves that he is just like us and It tells us that we need to fix the mistakes that we made and to try better next time.
I think this scripture is saying that God is feeling like we let down him or betrayed him as he says he wept because of our sin.
In today’s Gospel we need to realize that God came and saw us sinning and so he came to worship us and help us not to sin and glorify God. He wasn’t trying to be selfish he was trying to get us to know we are here because of him and not because someone else. We are here because he died for us and for our sins and we need to start noticing that he did it for us. Not for him.
I think that this Gospel means that there is so much hate in this world and God wants it to be more peaceful. This is not the world he created it to be. Society convinces us that if we are different we are too weird and people make fun of us.
Today Jesus is telling us how Jerusalem is. Jesus is weeping for them because they don’t see who he truly is. When times get tough we should give our lives over to Jesus and let him take control of every action thought and word we do think or say. Because when we let Jesus take the wheel we will be happy and joyful.
To me this means that Jesus and God saw our world and was upset on how we were and still are treating each other. God has always wanted us to live peacefully and to love each other, but he must have saw a lot of hate and anger towards other people. Then it was too much for him to take in so he wept.
What sticks out to me is “Jesus wept.” This stands out to me because sometimes when I think of Jesus I think of someone who is perfect so they do not need to show emotion. But he became human just like us so that means that he had emotions just like we do. He saw visions of how he was going to die a horrible and brutal death. So of course he showed emotion. And this shows that it does not matter who you are you can and should show emotion.
The scripture today is telling me that we can’t someone one or something by it cover. We all just need to be nice to one an other. When the gospel said “We all know how it feels when someone is weeping.” it’s true and. An other thing the gospel is teaching us to love one an other we don’t have best friends but we should all treat each other with respect.
“If this day you only knew what makes for peace–but now it is hidden from your eyes.” Today Jesus wept over us. He sees the sin that happens everyday to many people including all of us. Especially in this Generation our eyes are covered with other things and we try to fill the hole in our heart with what we think will be happiness but it only lasts so long. It could be electronics, sin, depression, anxiety but God is the only one who can fill the hole of happiness inside our heart. Jesus sees what we think will fill this hole and he cries over it because we just can’t seem to see the answer that is right in front of us every minute of every day.
This Scripture reminds me that God has high expectations of us and we are letting Him down. When it says, “because you did not recognize the time of your visitation,” that stuck out to me. Jesus is always with us, around us, and all through us. How often do we notice His presence? Have we ever truly even thanked Him before for all that He’s done for us? He is the Son of the living God. He is in us at all times. He will always be there and He allows us to not worry that He will ever leave, because Jesus doesn’t do things like that. God can not sin. God is love. God is the light in each of us and we need to realize that to be able to see the goodness of the world, and to thank Him for all the goodness He’s given us.
I think that this Gospel is trying to tell us why we need to respect human life. I know that it may seem like this reading has nothing to do with respecting human life but if you dive in and realize why Jesus wept, then it will become apparent. Jesus is weeping because he knows that the people of Jerusalem are going to betray him and have him killed. While you may think that this is only the human part of him showing it is also showing how the problem of death is still a huge issue to God. Jesus knows that even though he is going to suffer it will end up good in the end but he is doing it so that we can be saved. While none of us can save the whole human population by dying on a cross, we can help save people in other ways. One of the easiest ways is to support pro-life movements and to always make sure people know that they don’t have to get an abortion. Another really easy way to make sure people know how valuable human life is, is to be really nice to people and show others that you need to never “kill” someone with your words.
Something that stood out to me was “God rightly orders us to Himself through the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Imitating Jesus rightly orders our lives. This brings us to our hearts greatest desire, peace, holiness, heaven. ” I think that it’s saying that by going to Mass we are able to come closing to him spiritually and mentally. We should want to become closer to, so that we know we can rely on him. I think the Gospel is telling us that even through bad times, He is their to comfort us and be their for us always so that we can turn to him with our problems. We have to pray and talk to him, so that we know that He can do miraculous things and so that we don’t forget about him.
When ever I think of Jesus crying I allways think of the agony in the garden and how he went through all of that pain to try to live longer and bring more followers. But in this gospel it seems like he is sad that people are leaving Him and not following Him and following false gods.
jesus save us
The scripture passage is saying, Jesus has weakness and is not only Divine but also human. We as full humans barely ever see more than one side of the story in what we believe and see for ourselves. But it is important to know and understand before any action is done or made.
Today Jesus is weeping over Jerusalem because of all the horrid things going on in that place if your a blasphemer then you will be killed
Jesus wept. That is the words that spoke out to me went Jesus wept you know these thing had to be very bad. I think he is trying to say that we have enemies and that we need to treat them with kindness they might come to help us one day.
This Gospel is saying that Jesus is with us no matter where we go. We have to want him to be with us also.
Jesus is saying that we are so focused on everything else that we don’t pay enough attention to God. Jesus is praying that we will pay more attention. Every time that we do something Christ related we don’t get the full picture we need to get. We just think that we are doing it because we have to.
Today, I think the scripture is telling me that we all have people that we don’t get along with or don’t like as much as others or maybe even enemies. We always want to be rude to them, but we should learn how to forgive because we sin everyone day and God never turns us down. It is also the right thing to do. We want to be treated with respect and loveliness and so does everyone else.
The scripture is saying Jesus wept for us, the sinners.Jesus wept because of all the sin we commit over and over again.Even when we all make mistakes God will always forgive us and love us.
I think it means that even if we get pushed down we should still get back and pursue our mission. But I do not really understand why he cries when sees Jerusalem.
The gospel is taking about wept when Jesus saw the city. Jesus did not just do this out of know where He was sad. Jesus wept over Jerusalem because of all the sinners. And thinks about this makes me learn that we all need God. Because The people of Jerusalem
did not have God and did whatever they wanted. But with God we are more holy and nice and act more like the lord.
The Gospel is telling me today about are judgement day just a little bit. When Jesus said “because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.” We do not know when our visitation is and we need to stay as Holy as we can so we can see Jesus and go straight to heaven.
The Gospel is telling me today about when we die.The scripture says “because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.” We do not know when we are going to die,so we need to say holy so we can go straight to Heaven.
“But now it is hidden from your eyes.” This is the quote from this scripture that I thought was very sadly true into days world. “But NOW it is hidden from your eyes.” This shows that when we were just little babies we loved Jesus even if we didn’t recognize it. Once we get older though we have more temptations like, social media, cussing, and sinning. We have to open up our hearts to Jesus and let him flow through our body’s like light. So, love him because he loves you so much he died on the cross for your sins.
I think the scripture is telling us that we need to believe that Jesus is human. Okay I know what you´re thinking. Oh we all know Jesus is human. Well sometimes we forget Jesus is human and sometimes the Messiah. If we believe Jesus is both human and the Messiah, we´ll get to heaven for sure!
I think the scripture is saying we need to put all of our faith in God. We all worry about the problems in our life and that’s normal but we need to trust God. If we put our full faith in God His plan will be done and His plan is the best plan.
I think this is saying that we should make sure to have empathy for others. We see Jesus weeping because he’s weeping over us. He’s weeping over our sin and our mistakes. Jesus saw our fallen human nature and wept, this is why he saved us from our sin and mistake.
This is one of those pretty rare occasions in the bible in which Jesus weeps. He weeps for the city and how unbelieving the people are. This is yet another example of God’s Boundless mercy for us.
This is showing us that Jesus is human and that we are not the only ones suffering.
I think the scripture is telling us that we all have enemies, or people we don’t like but we shouldn’t be rude to them or hurt them no matter how much they do to us. We have to be the bigger person and forgive. That’s how God wants us to live.
Sin has a consequence. I think the Scripture is trying to tell us that we should get our act together now, not later. The only thing that sin accomplishes is make ourselves and others miserable.
We follow things that are not of Christ, and will not receive satisfaction from doing so. A pencil was made for writing, a book made for read. Are we not made for love? If we do not love one another, how can we receive satisfaction? We can take everything from the world, but none of it is for Jesus, we will be as empty as before. If you we’re to fill a well with air, it will be as empty as before. But if you fill it with water, that it will be full.
I think that it is saying that Jesus is also human and even He can have emotions and “mess up”. We can’t all be perfect, and God showed that to us in this Gospel. I think it also means that we have to able to forgive everyone even if it takes time.
I think this scripture is saying to open your eyes to see God. Our sin is covering the truth to see Him
