Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Jesus withdrew toward the sea with his disciples.
A large number of people followed from Galilee and from Judea.
Hearing what he was doing,
a large number of people came to him also from Jerusalem,
from Idumea, from beyond the Jordan,
and from the neighborhood of Tyre and Sidon.
He told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd,
so that they would not crush him.
He had cured many and, as a result, those who had diseases
were pressing upon him to touch him.
And whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him
and shout, “You are the Son of God.”
He warned them sternly not to make him known. MK 3:7-12
Why do people desire Jesus? On the surface, because he heals them. Spiritually, he has mercy on them as a sinner and frees them from sin. More deeply though, He has what we want, POWER! Lucifer, the fallen angel, the most powerful angel wanted that power more than anything and could not have it. Today, Lucifer continues to seek and destroy love wherever he can, especially marriage and the family is under attack. We want to control everything in our lives and we are so upset when our plans don’t work out. We are upset when we can’t control people in our relationships and make them do what we want. Power when used incorrectly is about popularity or status, wealth, strength, high positions, awards, and achievement.
It is not bad to achieve when we use the gifts God has blessed us with to the best of our ability to share with others. St. Teresa of Calcutta said, “It does not matter how much we accomplish, but how much we love.” The problem is when we obsess over it, work too many hours and leave our families behind, miss Mass for weekend sports tournaments, and have to go into extreme debt to keep up a fake life of wealth to keep up our status. Mother Teresa said, “In the end, it is always between you and God.”
Jesus has done an amazing job of revealing Himself to us in the last 3 weeks. He comes to us as a baby, completely innocent and poor. He is revealed at the Epiphany and worshiped by earthly kings recognizing Him as the one who has all of the POWER and is the one True King. God, with this power, does not hold it over our heads and use it against us, He gave it to us and gave Himself to us, so we may share in this power which is love. He is adored by the shepherds who were told by angels that God is on earth to bring peace to His people. Zechariah and Anna reveal at the Presentation in the temple, “This child will be responsible for the rise and fall of many in Israel”. Mary’s heart is pierced which begins a sorrowful and suffering heart that recognizes the most POWERFUL will have to suffer and die to REDEEM all sinners.
Then, John the Baptist speaks prophetic words, “Behold, the Lamb of God”. God speaks from the heavens and says, “This is my beloved Son of whom I am well pleased”. Now, we enter into Jesus’s healing ministry in the Gospel of Mark. This is to fulfill prophecies from the Old Testament about a Messiah who will come to save His people. It is to draw people to Him. But, most importantly it is to teach us how to use POWER correctly, by SERVING and HUMILITY. Jesus uses the greatest power to serve. He uses it to love. He uses it to have compassion on others.
Most importantly, we struggle with POWER every day of our lives. If we truly desire God in our hearts, we must let go of all of our power and submit to the ONE POWER that can make us the most joyful in this life and the next. Our identity is in the GREATEST POWER through His death and resurrection, we are made in His image and likeness, we are baptized into His family and become His child, through the blood of Christ we become His brother or sister, the GREATEST POWER lives in us in the Holy Spirit and is given to us in the SACRAMENTS. God’s grace is His life in us. This is why the saints went to Mass daily sometimes more and to confession sometimes daily or weekly. They recognized how POWERLESS they were and how much POWER God had to help them be holy and fight Satan. God desires nothing more than to give you His love and grace. Our greatest POWER is living to be the person God made us to be and sharing that with others.
God’s love is the most POWERFUL thing in the world. It conquered sin and death. It overcomes evil and darkness in our world. It forgives and is for giving. It heals. It changes lives and creates lives. Most importantly, God’s POWER is LOVE. There is no greater POWER than God’s LOVE in all the world. NOTHING has ever beat God’s LOVE!!! Our POWER is pale in comparison to God’s POWER. We will be held accountable by this POWER on judgment day. At some point we are going to have to submit to the POWER that created us, it would be smart not to let that be our death bed.
It would also be wise to humbly submit to Him, give Him everything, visit Him daily in prayer, invite Him into our daily activities and especially our temptations, visit His mother daily and ask for her help since He told us to from the Cross, receive Him at Mass, and share Him with others by modeling Him in our lives being who we were created to be. Why do people desire Jesus and want to get so close to Him and crush Him? Holiness is attractive. He is the Way to our heavenly home, our hearts greatest desire. He gives us the POWER to get there and the joy is overwhelming.
Today’s challenge: Make a habit of getting up early in the morning to spend time with Jesus to make Him the center of your life, not just a part of your life. Give up yourself totally and completely to Him through Mary and everything you own. Allow Him to have power over you, so that you have power over the Devil and your desires.
In today’s gospel I hear that Jesus will do anything to be able to help and teach us. In the story He gets a boat so he is not crushed. He still preaches even when there are so many people around Him, No matter what the condition is. God is always there to preach to us and be with us.
In today’s gospel people are rushing to see Jesus and hear him speak the word of God. They didn’t have the option to open the Bible and read it they had to follow Jesus and listen to him preach. But since we have the option to read the Bible every day and hear the word of God we need to take advantage of it and do it.
Today the scripture is telling me that we should desire God so much that we will come to Him no matter where He is and no matter when He calls us and we should desire Him to the point of forcing Him to go on a boat because He could be crushed by all of the people wanting to touch Him.
People sought Jesus for healing and guidance. When he told the demands not to expose him he did not want people to follow him because of a demand but because of what the believe and what they saw from God.
I think this is trying to say that we’re worshipping Jesus and God, but for our own will. We want power and glory and some of us will take that to God, when that’s really what we shouldn’t be worshipping for. We need to be thinking of the right things. We need to worship him because we love him, not for our own personal gains and pleasures.
Jesus is always on our side and I need to understand that he knows what he is doing and I just need to follow and believe
“He had cured many and, as a result, those who had diseases were pressing upon him to touch him.” These people knew that all they needed was to touch Jesus and they would be healed. Hundreds of people were pushing past each other to get to Jesus. It must take great faith to believe that you can be healed just by touching Jesus. Jesus has said many times “Go and be healed, your faith has saved you”
In today’s gospel, a large number of people are coming to see Jesus. Jesus cast away unclean spirits and cured diseases. I can apply this to my life by seeking God and praying each day.
This is an interesting passage. “He told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd,
so that they would not crush him.” Wow. The people wanted to see Jesus so badly, and so many people, that Jesus was like, Hey, I don’t wanna be crushed under all these people. If only we could desire Christ like this. That’s what we need. God. We should desire to be in God’s Grace. All. The. Time.
Everyone wants to have the most power in life we think it makes us feel important and dominant. But in order to be at peace with God and happy with him we have to let that all go and remember that HE’S the one if is all powerful. Basically we have to learn to humble ourselves.
I think this scripture is talking about the power of God and his power upon us. God can do anything. That’s what everyone wants, to be able to have the power. When we turn against God or do something knowing its wrong, he will always give us the power to do whats right the next time. We always have to believe and trust that God has a plan everyone of us.
People will “follow” or will try and make you more successful if you are learning to fail or gain more knowledge of what you can learn from people and you will be smarter and a much more deep person in God.
Jesus was so popular that the crowd had overwhelmed him and he was trying to get away from them. (“He told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd,so that they would not crush him”) People wanted Jesus to either heal/cure themselves or others. Now we come to him wanting him to heal us with our sin.
We should be as excited to see God as the people in the gospel today.
In todays gospel, a lot of people are trying to see Jesus. They wanted to see what he was doing and what he is preaching. Jesus wanted his deciples to get a boat ready because he was overwelmed by the crowd. He didn’t want them to crush him or hurt him because they were so excited.
This scripture is telling us that everybody wants like Jesus power they just want his power because they think it can make them happy if they all of the power of Jesus but Jesus i saying like that not what leads into happiness and like going into heaven and he says it like you have to be humble to like lead us to heaven.
He is talking about to go out and help those who need it and pray for those who need healing
In this scripture passage there are so many people who come to see Jesus that they have to go on a boat so he isn’t crushed he had proved to so many that he was God and he healed everyone who came to him.
We all want to have power because it keeps us in control and we feel good, but what we dont relize is we dont need power to be happy, all we need is God.
We are the fallen angles that want power. We want to have the most control, we need to just ask help from the Holy Spirit.
We are NOT angels though, we are body and souls.
I think that Jesus is saying that we’re using us for our own glory. We are thinking that God only watches us and that we think we deserve everything in the world. We aren’t thinking of other people and God isn’t happy about that.
What reached out to me is when it said, “And whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him
and shout, “You are the Son of God.” What this means to me is that Jesus is the most important thing in life, and nothing is more important. We can’t let anything get between us and our relationship with Jesus, only through Jesus can we achieve heaven.
In today’s Gospel Jesus has healed and preached to many who need him. Jesus is becoming known to everyone, we want him to heal us we want to be near God but then why do we sin. We know God would heal us.
This scripture is telling me to trust in God and love him.
So many people wanted to be around Jesus so much that he needed to get on a boat. He has helped many people and the people are trying to get close to him. He has so much power that the people want it.
In today’s scripture we see that God can heal us no matter how broken we are. We need to trust God more and give Him our heart and all of our trust because He knows best.
In today’s scripture we see that God can heal us no matter how broken we are. We need to trust God more and give Him our heart and all of our trust because He knows best.
The thing that Jesus is trying to tell us here is that he wants us to be nice
This Gospel shows us how powerful Jesus is. He heals our sins and He can heal our bodies and souls. The demons in the gospel tells us that Jesus is really God. Jesus can do miracles for us. We just need to ask Him for it. During this time of sickness we can ask God to help us to stay healthy.
It amazes me to see how many people wanted Jesus so badly, people from across the Jordan, and many other places. You would have thought Jesus would have been overwhelmed, but He wasn’t, He still wanted to help and heal.
Jesus is always on our side and I need to understand that he knows what he is doing and I just need to follow and believe
In order to become a servant of God, we must remain humble. We must fall before him and trust him completely. We must serve him and make great effort to be in the Kingdom of Heaven with him in the afterlife.
what its telling me is that Jesus works miracles but He does not want to be known or acknowledged for what he does for you.
People came to see Jesus. They knew who he was. Even if they didn’t believe that he was God, something about him attracted people to him. There was some faith in anyone who went to meet him, or even see him. Why shouldn’t there be more faith in us, who know for a fact that he is God?
We used to come to Jesus wanting physical healing. some of us still do, but i know that we all go to Him wanting healing from our sin. He wants to heal us so we can be more faithful and that is why we have confessions.
To me, it means that popularity shouldn’t be our desire. Jesus should be our desire so we can go to heaven and live with Him for the rest of eternity. It talks about how everyone “followed” Jesus after they heard about His preaching, but He didn’t want thousands of followers just for them to not believe what He was saying.
In today’s scripture “He told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, so that they would not crush him.” stood out to me because it shows that God will stop at nothing to teach us. There was a huge crowd and Jesus still wanted to preach. So He went out of His way to get a boat.
In this Scripture reflection it shows how much of a crowd Jesus had. Jesus himself got overwhelmed about it. But no matter what he still healed them.
“Jesus withdrew toward the sea with his disciples.” we are disciples of Jesus. disciples are people who spread and teach the word of Christ. we need to be better disciples of Christ and follow him in his ways.
what its telling me is that Jesus works miracles but He does not want to be known or acknowledged for what he does for you and that you shouldnt overwhelm Him.
I think this scripture is saying that Jesus is always on our side, and that we need to trust and follow him. We need to pray and worship him to build a better relationship with him.
I think this scripture passage is trying to tell us about Jesus’ power. Sometimes we feel like we need to have more power than others, but Jesus is the one who has power. He has the power to cure diseases and guide us. God’s power overcomes all of the evil and darkness in our world.
In this Scripture, Jesus is healing and cleaning unclean spirits. This shows that Jesus is so powerful. God has the power to change our lives when we love and follow Him. God can do anything.
This gospel is saying that Jesus is her for us. We can go to him if we need help or if we are hurt or if we are just simply praying for others. He will listen to us. Now we just need to go to him.
This scripture passage tells me that people wanted to be healed by Jesus, but they might be pretending that they understand and believe His works. They only wanted the benefits of His healing.Jesus tells the people not to go around and proclaim that He can do these things because other people might not believe that He is the Son of God.
A quote that means something to me is “It does not matter how much we accomplish, but how much we love” by St. Teresa of Calcutta. This has meaning to me because if you accomplish nothing it’s okay(if it’s school work then accomplish it), if you love strong enough then you can accomplish anything your heart desires. Take time to love one another like God has loved all.
I think this scripture passage is saying we need to strive for Jesus like those people did. We need to believe that He will guide us on our journey and heal us through our battles. Our path may not be the easiest but He will always be at our side.
I think the scripture is saying God is so wonderful and powerful that he even had the neighboring cities coming to his speeches. He did not want the demons to tell the people of the world that he was the son of God .
Jesus was so desired by the peoples that he needed a boat to prevent Himself from being crushed by them. We desire Jesus for many reasons, often changing depending on our situation in life. If we’re struggling with a loss of a loved one or just going through a difficult time, we may yearn for Jesus for His healing, peace, and strength. Maybe instead we’re experiencing something different, and want Jesus for His love and kindness. No matter what our circumstances may be, God is always there. No matter the situation, no matter where we are spiritually, He is always there. So why are we waiting? Jesus is there to comfort and help. His Spirit is there to guide us to Him. His Father in Heaven there to embrace as we arrive. So take His gift. Take His love. Take whatever you need of Him. Ask, and you shall receive. If it is in harmony with your purpose, He will grant it to you. Just ask Him for it. Let Jesus be your Savior.
This scripture is telling me that God will forgive us and we need to appreciate what he has done for us. We can just pray to God and say well i prayed, we have to actually pray from the heart and to understand what we are praying about and what we are praying for. Just know God has a plan for you you just have to trust him.
This is telling me that we all think that we all need to have the most power to be the best. But were wrong only God is the person that should have the most power.
I think it is saying that we can’t just rush to see Jesus, we need to wait for when the time is right. We need to learn how to be patient because if we are we will be granted with the best gift possible.
In this reading you can see how many people knew about Jesus and wanted to see Him. There was such a large crowd that Jesus had to get on a boat to not get crushed by everyone there. And since this was in a time way way before technology like social media everyone there heard about Jesus through word of mouth and they could believe in Him so much we should too.
Today Jesus shows us that he does have human wishes. He has the wish to not want to be crushed. Now he is God, he wouldn’t be crushed if he said he wouldn’t be. Now why wouldn’t he do this. He didn’t because he is human too. He is fully human and divine sure, but that means he’s fully human
This gospel is telling me that we all need to remember that Jesus is just like us. He is human, and that we can do whatever he does.
Everyone desired to be with Jesus to touch him, there were so many people they had to get a boat so the people would not crush him. Everyone knew about Jesus’ healings so they wanted to be healed and sometimes we use Jesus like that, we ask him for stuff our wants in prayer and that is it we do not thank him or just talk to him.
All these people desired to be with Jesus so they could cure their unclean spirits. They wanted to touch him and shouted “you are the Son of God!” to get his attention. He showed mercy to the sinners and healed them. He frees them and lets them be. But, they desired him also because He has something we do not. Power. Jesus had the POWER to heal and cure and free them of our sins. That’s what we want, so we desire Jesus, because He can give it to us. But we should only desire him because He is Lord and can show us mercy and save us from our sins.
This gospel is telling me that Jesus is human like us and that we all need to be ready. And we can do whatever he does.
This Gospel is talking about the power of God. God has so much power over US humans we don’t even know. Jesus walked away everyone followed him because HE has so much power over US. We should as humans try to follow Jesus and walk in his footsteps because he is a GREAT leader.
What I am getting from the Gospel is that Jesus will always be there for us no matter what he’s going through. If we just ask for Him to be with us and to guide us through hard times, He will because of the amount of love he has for all of us, even for the non-believers of Jesus.
This scripture reminded me that Jesus is King and he is the one and only ruler of the world. It is only him that can do everything impossible to man, and he is always grateful for you and wants to love you. He wants to sit by you and talk to you. Jesus is probably calling you in some way but you don’t hear it, and Jesus will hold you through spiritually tough times because we are weak, we are weak humans compared to him, so we should want to sit next to the strongest, coolest guy ever.
You have great wisdom
When Jesus went into the boat because he was going to be crushed by the people. It made me realize that we need to be more like the people. They wanted to be near Jesus so badly, they wanted to touch him, be with him. We need to be like the people desiring Jesus.
In today’s gospel I think that it is so interesting that Jesus tells the demons and unclean spirits not to reveal him. His entire mission on this Earth, was to reveal himself as the Son of God and become the salvation for our souls, but when easy proof is kneeling before him, he tells it not to reveal itself. I think this is because Jesus knows that the people must decide for themselves what is real and what is not, he wants to let them choose to believe in him, not force them into a position where they must decide because they saw demons, God is gentle, God is kind, and he does not want to expose his children to the rhelm or darkness where these spirits reside.
Something else in today’s gospel was that the demon kneels before him. it shows Jesus’s power, demons must kneel before him, and follow his commands, to stay silent, to leave or stay, and it shows that demons have no power, not in the shadow of Gods love and grace.
So many people wanted to see Jesus when he was preacher. He got overwhelmed by the crowd and asked to have a boat ready for Him. He did want the people to hurt themselves when the purpose was to be healed or absolved of their sins. He does everything for us, He just needed to have space for the people and Himself.
I think this Gospel is saying that the Lord unites us together and in these times its necessary to go to church and pray. Also how they traveled miles to see the Lord and touch him as should we do anything for the Lord.
I think that this Gospel passage is telling me that we have to truly understand the Bible and not just read through it and pretend like we know what’s going on. The people back then didn’t get the Bible as an option, but they knew that following Jesus Christ was the right thing to do. So since we can’t physically bring back Jesus and follow His ways, we can follow His ways in another way. Reading the Bible. Believe in the Bible and do as God has told us that will be the key to true happiness.
People desire Jesus because Jesus can heal us. He can save us, he did save us from our sins. We desire Jesus because of the things we depend on him, that he could save us from this cruel world. If people are in a dark time in their lives, or in need of Jesus’s help, they desire him and believe he would do as such. But many times people pray and pray and don’t see any change in their life and begins to drift away from going to church everyday, praying etc. We have to trust Jesus and his process.
What stands out to me in this gospel is that everyone is coming to Jesus. Those who come to Jesus are being healed. Today Jesus can heal you. He can heal your brokenness, your sin. For Jesus to heal you, you must first come to him. If you come to Jesus in prayer he can heal your spiritual wounds and sickness.
Everyone came to see Jesus to get cleansed from their disease. This scripture is describing the power of God and we need go and spread the good news
To me this means that God is asking for a boat to not me crushed by the people. But I feel like this is trying to tell us to stop hurting him when it comes to throwing very important things such as rosaries and the Bible.
I think we are scared to follow Jesus because we want to be able to do what we want to. We don’t want to live a holy life because we think we will not be able to have fun, we don’t want to have any responsibility. We think that it is more fun to live life doing everything that we think is “fun”. But in reality we are just separating ourselves more and more from Jesus by doing these things. And that is the last thing that we want, what we truly want is to live with God for the rest of eternity.
This scripture I think is saying that if you say your a “christian” you have to pray and do Gods works to be considered a Christian. And that we all need to be prepared for his second coming.
In the Gospel today I think God is telling us and reminding us to go out and heal people. To bring others up who may be having a hard time or a sickness or whatever it may be.
This is saying to me that the Lord brings us together as one and as a family. In times like these it is needed to go to church and pray.
I think that the scripture is telling me to let Him in and let Him heal me. He can’t heal me unless I do so. So I need to do so.
In this passage, Jesus suprises me with the part about him warning others to not let others known about him. He wanted to be in secrecy, and was very humble about it, for it was not yet His time. We should strive to be humble like Him even when given the option of greatness.
People are so attracted towards Jesus because he has healed others, forgives our sins, allows us to receive him during the Mass, makes miracles happen, and he died for all of us. He is saving us from what this world has come to.
In today’s Scripture passage Jesus says that he needs a boat so he doesn’t get crushed by the crowd. I depict this as he is trying to say that we should do good and sometime good things will come and I get this from how he says the he has healed people and done much more than that and as a result his fame is up which can result to them being crushed from the people and good things did come. This also reminds me of that saying “Goodness has consequences less than of evil.” This means that if you do good some consequences will come but much less than the amount when you do bad things.
Why is Jesus desired so much? What does he do with his power? In this gospel it tells us both. People desired Jesus so much because they Believed he would cure them. He was the way to get out of there sin and disease. Jesus literally was almost crushed. It also says many with unclean spirits were near. When the unclean spirits saw him they fell to their knees and said, ” you are the son of God.”
This demonstrates his power and love for us. All we have to do is believe.
In today’s gospel lots of people heard what Jesus was doing and rushed to him. When I think of mass I think people should rush to mass to be healed and to receive communion just like they did in the story.
In today’s Gospel a lot of people come to Jesus so that he can heal them. He get in a boat so that the people do not crush him. After He heal all of them he tells them not to tell anybody else. Of course as we know they all go off and tell more people. I get why they would go do that because they want their loved ones to be healed, too. Jesus wants to heal all of us. He wants us to come back to him and be with him forever in Heaven.
What I think this is saying is that God is so great and has so much power that people want to be with him but not worship him they just want him for his power not for his love. They dont want to do the sacrafice they just want everything given to them. I can apply this to my life by not skipping mass and instead wanting to go, and praying and giving myself up more and wanting to be with him more not just for his power but for his love.
In today’s gospel I learned that God has power over us all. People always think that they have the best or think they have the power to take people for advantage, which is really sad. But I think that if they knew how He loves and cares for everyone of this world even the nonbelievers. He will do anything for us and we should know that. He wouldn’t do anything to hurt us.
I think that this portion of Mark’s Gospel is trying to portray to us how famous Jesus was at this time. He was so famous that people from all over would go to hear him preach and hopefully get healing. This also shows you the extent of the people that Jesus hears. Just for context, back then it was very hard to travel places. You had to walk it and you would often have to be traveling for many days to go just a short distance. For people to come from other cities to get healing means that Jesus’s healings weren’t just one in a million. People knew that he could heal anyone and that he would heal anyone so they had faith in him. To answer the question of why Jesus is so attractive is because he is the perfect friend. Most people would say that a perfect friend would be super nice, caring, and great to talk to. Jesus is the kindest you can possibly be. He is the most merciful and caring of anything and once you learn how to talk to him, you can have the greatest of conversations. The real question should be why aren’t you friends with Jesus and the answer to that is because you haven’t given him a shot. Jesus is not easy to follow but in the end choosing him will be the greatest choice you ever make.
In todays Scripture Jesus is healing the sick and like he healed us. So we need to pray to him so he can help us
A phrase that stuck out to me in this Gospel passage was, “He had cured many,” because it reminds me that God can cure. Why haven’t I been asking God for His help and guidance every day? Are we scared that He won’t give us His help, or are we just unaware? God will always be willing to help us. He loves us, and even though we aren’t worthy of His love, we have to learn to accept it. If we want to get to Heaven, we have to have His guidance.
In today’s Scripture Jesus is being crowded by a lot of people because they heard of how great he was. They came to get healed because they believed that Jesus could help them and heal them.
I think the Gospel is saying our goal of life is to get to Jesus. He had to get a boat so people would not crush him. That is how bad we should want to be able to see and touch Jesus. When we get to Heaven we get to see Jesus, so we make it our goal to get to Heaven.
This Gospel shows that when Jesus makes himself known in the world, people seek him out, simply for the knowledge that you are no longer sick, or disabled. But when Jesus doesn’t make himself known, people don’t want him, they don’t bellieve in him, they don’t care. We should always be seeking Jesus out, and wanting Him, even when he doesn’t make himself known to us. He is still our Savior, and we should always be wanting Him, not just when we are sick or disabled, but ALL the time.
In today’s gospel people go and wanna see Christ speak the word of God even the unclean spirits go to him they drop to there knee’s and shout you are the son of God. Even the bad wanna go and see God so they me cleansed of there sins.
In this scripture, I think it means that it is great to heal people but don’t make a big deal about it or make it about yourself. It say that Jesus said not to make himself known.
Jesus is so powerful and sacred that everyone is coming to Jesus. Everyone wants Jesus to heal them. Unclean spirits fall to the ground and praise God upon seeing Jesus. Jesus is able to heal us.
Thanks to Jesus’s massive outspurt of miracle givings, now EVERYBODY wants one. This man is being bombarded with leppars and other gross things like that, and He needs a boat so he doesn’t get stampeded by the sick people.
The scripture today means to me that no matter how amazing Jesus’ works are never expect him to always go out of his way and heal the ungrateful rather than heal the grateful no matter his power. Always listen to him and what he has to say and follow in his directions and good things will come from that.
Jesus has control over all even unclean spirits that despise Him. The spirits would be scared of Him and call Him the son or God. Jesus did not want the spirits to make Him known because people that had diseases would come and try to touch Him to be made clean. Even when He wanted to preach He just couldn’t because people would interrupt just to try to touch Him. So Jesus got a boat so people would not trample on Him, and He could talk freely.
What I think this scripture is telling us is that we need to listen to God. And we need to go and tell the good news for all to hear. That will make us better disciples of God. And we need to continue all throughout our lives to tell the good news.
The Gospel is saying today that we need to not over use Gods power he has an unlimited power but if we use it to much we would use up all of it. You still need to know he loves us even if we use his power to much like the gospel said he need a boat so he would not be crushed by the crowed a lot of people with sicknesses.
This scripture today I can relate to, which is not good and I finally realize it. Everyone wants to have the most power in life, we think it makes us feel important and ¨the best¨, or maybe even dominant. But in order to be at peace with God and be truly happy with him we have to let that all go and remember who really has all the power. He deserves all the power. He sacrificed his body my selfish body. We need to learn how to humble ourselves so we can realize this. We always get caught up in thinking that its always about me or trying to make it all about me. But, we do not even realize who it should be all about.
In today’s scripture Jesus says that his disciples need to get a boat ready for him so that he is not crushed. God can heal us, change us, and inspire us if we let him do it. If you are someone who needs healing praying once a month will not do anything. You need to pray everyday so you are not crushed by the devil like Jesus needed a boat to not get crushed by the people.
What I think Jesus is trying to teach us today is to help others. I can’t imagine having hundreds and even thousands of people trying to touch me. Jesus he just let them and he healed them. I think we just have to be more like Jesus today.
Today’s Scripture is talking about people coming to Jesus to be healed and getting on top of people just to touch him. The unclean spirits are even falling down before him. Gods power is love and we need Gods love to be healed.
jesus hellps us and the sintern of are live
The scripture today is telling us about power. He teaches us to control the wanting of power because we feel good and feel strong when we have power. But he tells us power isn’t always bad. Its bad when people put power in front of God. But when you believe in God and go to mass still and say he is your creator and savoir. Thats the way to control the wanting of power.
I think the scripture is telling us that we should not use power in the wrong ways. Power for achievements is okay as long at it is used correctly. We need to let go of our power. If we do, we´ll be one step closer to going to heaven
I think that Jesus is not only showing us his love for us by healing people, but is also showing us the act humility by telling the people to not make it known. I can apply this to my life by striving to following the virtue of humility, which tags along so many other virtues. Humility can be very hard for some people, but not for others, like any strength and weakness. We have to balance them out.
I think it’s amazing how willing people are to follow Jesus. Leave everything behind like there house, food, family.
The Gospel today is telling me that God can do anything and will do anything for us. We need to appreciate what God has gave us and we need to be thankful that he died on the cross for our sins.
God wants to bring us together as a family. He also wants us to leave everything behind and follow him. God wants us all to go to heaven as we all do. We have to pick up our cross and follow him
We often forget that Jesus loves everyone, including those who aren’t loved by anyone else. Jesus loves us so much that he died for us, that should definetly tell us something. It’s one of the hardest things to do, but we have to remember that Jesus is always with us and He’s on our side.
I find it ironic how people had come from all over to see Jesus, so many that he needs a boat to not get crushed, yet he is still asks to be not known. It reminds me that although he is fully divine, he is also fully human. Of course, his glory is well deserved; he is our Lord and Savior, but he should not been seen as just someone with power that be used so simply.
Great point, Tien!
People in today’s world are so caught up in so many small matters, that they cannot see that what they need is right in front of them. He is not something that is just there for you to enjoy. Rather He is the Rabbi, the great teacher. He is the Alpha and the Omega. He is, above all things, love. He is the truth and the life. He gave us everything, and we willingly take. But one thing remains; Do we give it all back to Him, or do we horde it.
And I put a period instead of a question mark… great.
The Scripture passage tells us about how many people knew about Jesus and believed in Him. So many people came to where He was because they believe what He could could do they chased Him until they found Him. We need to do the same. The journey to God is going to be rough but if we really strive to find God, we will.
Jesus wants us to come to him for help when we need it the most. Remember that no matter what it is he will help you.
I think that this scripture is trying to tell us that we should begin making it a point to find ways to spend time with Jesus on a daily basis. This could be morning prayer, 20 minutes of adoration, reflecting on scripture, or just praying daily rosaries. Jesus wants you to form a relationship with him so that we can learn to avoid sin and get to heaven to live an eternal life with the Father.
