Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.
A leper came to him and kneeling down begged him and said,
“If you wish, you can make me clean.”
Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand,
touched the leper, and said to him,
“I do will it. Be made clean.”
The leprosy left him immediately, and he was made clean.
Then, warning him sternly, he dismissed him at once.
Then he said to him, “See that you tell no one anything,
but go, show yourself to the priest
and offer for your cleansing what Moses prescribed;
that will be proof for them.”
The man went away and began to publicize the whole matter.
He spread the report abroad
so that it was impossible for Jesus to enter a town openly.
He remained outside in deserted places,
and people kept coming to him from everywhere. MK 1:40-45
Imagine being banned from your family, friends, school, workplace, community, everybody. There are other lepers living with you in misery outside the towns. You may have lost all hope. Then, you hear that there is a Man that can cure you and set you free of your illness. Just as the leper did, we would fall to our knees and beg Jesus to heal us. Now, stop imagining and instead of a leper insert you and me as a sinner. Jesus wills to heal us and He willed to die on the cross to fulfill His Father’s will to save us. He wills Baptism, reconciliation, and gives Himself to us totally and completely in the Eucharist, so that we have an opportunity for His grace and to be forgiven when we fall so that we can come back to Him healed of our infirmities, holy, and enter heaven.
Jesus told the leper to show himself to the priest to be cleansed by what Moses prescribed, so that the priests would allow him back into their religious community. We too must forgive and allow people back into our lives. Forgiveness sets free the chains that bind us filled with hatred, anger, frustration, worry, anxiety, and bitterness towards another. Forgive and experience peace.
“Say please, thank you, and I’m sorry every day.” –Pope Francis
Today’s challenge: Allow Christ to heal your wounds, come before Him begging on your knees.
I should trust in God to heal me like how Jesus healed the lepers.
We need to keep our souls clean by sinning less and striving to follow God closer and be in a close relationship with Jesus.
I can apply this to my life by, asking God to forgive me and pray for the homeless.
I can imply this to my by being happy with everything i have and not throwing away because God is what makes us happy and we can’t throw away God.
Jesus will heal us, we have to trust in Him and he will forgive us. Jesus loves us so we have to love him back.
When you clean yourself you use water, this brings us back to your baptism when the priest baptized you with water, just like Jesus cleaned the leaper and the leprosy left him
It means we should come back to Jesus when we need him and he will lead us to the right way and way to be in our life.It means we should come back to Jesus when we need him and he will lead us to the right way and way to be in our life.
This scripture made me think that if you believe like the leaper did anything can happen. It also reminded me of my baptism when Jesus cleansed the leaper because he also cleansed him.
I can add this into my life by asking God for his forgiveness. Jesus has undying love and He will always help us. We just need to realize this.
In today’s scripture passage Jesus cures a man with leprosy and then the man foes to town and tells everybody about what happened. I can use this in my life by always trusting in got and knowing that he is always with me.
when Jesus cleans the leaper, it’s like when we are baptized Jesus cleans us
Jesus can heal any diseases or sin off of your soul.
I can apply this to my daily life by trusting in God and all the decisions he makes for me. And I can let him into my boat by praying more.
Jesus doesn’t tell us something just because he knows it isn’t fun, he tells us to do something because he knows it will either be good for us, good for people around us, or good for both. Jesus always tries helping us, just sometimes we don’t like it.
I can apply this to my life by. Remembering to call on God in need. We have a leprosy of sin we must ask Jesus in the confessional to cure us and help us get to heaven. We must pray and call Jesus to help us if he wills it and he will will it there is nothing to bad for him to not will it.
In today’s scripture Jesus is telling us to not doubt him and all of his works.
This teaches us that we must not be ashamed of what we look like to come to Jesus. Even if we are on the brink of death, or maybe just struggling with some burden in our life, we must not be ashamed to come to Jesus.
I can take away from this that i can ask God of anything, no matter how big the sin or how small the sickness, I can turn to God.
Always treat people with respect.
in this gospel Jesus healed the leper like he want’s to spend the rest of eternity with us and take us away from sin.
I can put this in my life is that I can go to confession and, not worry about being scared and knowing that Jesus will forgive me.
I can apply this to my life by always knowing that there is more and that I should always trust in God to let me expereince it. I know God forgives all my sins so I should go and spread that news to those that are scared or worries about going to connfession.
I can apply this to my life because we are all sinners and Jesus has the power to forgive us and cleanse us of our sins so we go to him when we need him.
I can apply this to my life by asking and begging Christ for forgiveness. When I go to confession, I can confess my sins to the priest (in Persona Christi) and he forgives all my sins. This tells me that Christ also forgives my sins because he wants to forget all the bad that has happened and focus on the Everlasting Life with Him.
Just like the leper fell on his knees in front of Jesus, we should all try to fall on our knees in front of Jesus as sinners. We should ask for forgiveness and forgive others. We should not hold grudges but allow others back into our lives.
The scripture really hits on being forgiving and having mercy for others. Sometimes we forget that we can forgive others no matter how serious or minor there acts were. Jesus works through the priest in confession and he can work through us to give others mercy also .
In today’s scripture reading, it says that when Jesus cleansed the Leper clean he was forgiven and most likely welcomed back into the community. We need to remember that even if someone hurts us, we always need to forgives and forget. Even if someone doesn’t apologize. God wants this for us. To be forgiving and to love everyone no matter what.
We must fully believe that he can heal us and help us in life, otherwise we might not make it to eternal life with him.
This meant that when jesus help tell people but not that he did it but always be humble for what you get and give.
I can reflect on this scripture by trusting what Jesus says and to follow and do what he says to do.
the leper was an outcast and had lost everything but when he heard someone could heal him he asked nicely for grace without begging.
I think that I should be like the leper and just ask god quietly for healing.
We must realize that God has the power to forgive all of our sins. All we have to do is go to confession, say our sins, and do penance. He is always ready to forgive us. We should allow him to do so.
We need to allow Jesus to come into our lives and heal us. We need to beg to Jesus for healing and forgiveness.
I can forgive other people so they don’t have to.
we can apply this to our lives by allowing people into our boat and knowing that other people need a chance, no matter what they look like.
Jesus died on the cross to save us from sin. i think we should forgive people in our everyday life to set free the chains of hatred, anger, and bitterness towards others.
I can apply this to my life by praying to Jesus to heal me and by saying please thank you and I’m sorry every day
What I think God is trying to tell me today is that we can’t just ask God for something and expect to get something in return. We should be patient and if it is in His will he will give it to us and it might not be in the way we want it either.
I believe what God tries to convey to us in today’s message is a very, very important lesson. It is to show acceptance, and to show love to all people. This is one of those you know essential things in Christianity. We love and accept all people, no matter the latter. Whether it is schools, work, or any other sort of community. This especially comes to us in school time with having special cliques and groups of people whom we interact with. It’s very selective and God’s subtle voice tells us to let be open-minded and to be ready for suggestions, and other people.
I can apply this to my letting people that have hurt me back into my life. Even if they have hurt me. We need to listen to God and forgive others.
Jesus is human. He still has pity for people, and yet he still has the power to heal him because he is also still God.
I can apply this to my life by forgiving others and to allowing people back in my lives. I can also listen to God and pray.
In today’s scripture Jesus is trying to tell us we must forgive and allow people back into our lives. Everyone deserves a second chance and we should all be willing to try and let go whatever it is the person did. I can apply this by forgiving others.
This is saying that you can ask God for forgiveness and he will forgive you no matter how far away you’ve fallen.
Ask God for what you need and pray a lot. This taught me to believe in God just like the leper.
This is telling me that we need to ask for forgiveness. We need to not be afraid to ask God for absolution.
Jesus is human even though he is the most powerful being in the universe. But He still has feelings like a human.
I can apply this to my life by listening to God, and forgiving others. We need to pay close attention and make sure we are doing his will.
The passage is saying that God has a plan for you and He does everything through his will. You should always ask Him what is His will is for you just like the leper did. But you should not do what the leper did and disobey God. The leper was instructed to tell no one but he told many people. You should always listen to God because he has a plan for you.
What I got out of the scripture today was to not treat others differently. Everyone is a child of God and we should forgive everyone as God does. We should also allow everyone who is willing to join the church into the church.
We cannot live without God. We need others in our lives, because our point in life is to help others. Jesus helped others by healing them, and then eventually giving his life up. We have to help others in our lives in order to be like Christ.
Jesus is trying to tell us to follow His will.
We are sick. Not sick like with the flu but spiritually sick. We need to be like this leaper and and come to God asking for forgiveness. He does not need us to be with him, we do not deserve him but he wants us with him. Have you ever heard anyone say ” that is what you want not what you need” or some other form. I have and if Gog only had in heaven what he needed, he would have nothing. He does not need us. We are lucky he wants us, so when he heals us we must go out and proclaim to others about him in return.
Jesus healed the leper, and let him in his heart. We need to do the same. Let the sick or poor enter into our hearts, and while we might not be able to heal the sick, we can help. Just let them into our hearts and home the way Jesus does.
We have to trust in God. When we have trust in God we have the ability to confess and be forgiven. He will make it so we are not looked down upon. He loves us enough to forgive us of our sins and purify us.
We are all sinners, so thus we are like the lepers in the passage. We are bearing the weight of our sins that separate us and want it gone, like the lepers who wanted to be rid of their sickness. We can go to God and have him forgive our sins just like how He cleansed the leper in the passage.
I think that this is telling me that we need to forgive. If we forgive, we will get to heaven.
God’s will is always best for us, so why don’t we always agree to it? We ask for things that we don’t need. We try to do things we shouldn’t. In the process of going against His will we hurt others and ourselves. We should all try to go with God’s will, even though it will be hard at times.
In this scripture, Jesus is telling me to never belittle people and to always trust him.
We need to ask God for help more than we do. Maybe you don’ think God helps, he always has a plan for us.
Jesus can heal. We know because people like to spread good news. It would be hard not to because good news is something to be excited about. If you got a really nice new phone or something and someone told you not to tell any one, you would tell people, right?rac
I can apply to my life by doing the will of God. I can spread the word of God and do His will.
Whatever Jesus says is God’s Plan. We need to listen to him and act according to what he says.
Jesus wants us to do His will and forgive others as He forgives us. We can be forgiven at Confession.
We need to listen to God and follow in his footsteps. We should trust more in Jesus, and need to get closer to him. We can’t live without him, so we need to trust in Him.
I can apply this to my life and others can too by praying to God for forgiveness and ask him to help me find my way back onto the right path. That way I can learn from my mistakes.
You should always forgive others and ask for forgiveness. We should not treat one person rudely and another nicely. God’s will is always the best for us. He loves us so much, that He shows us Himself in humiliation. We should always appreciate what God does for us.
Jesus is always here for us. If we are completely honest, if one of our friends or someone around us started to be incredibly rude, started to gossip behind your back, and betrayed you and what you have asked or told them to do, we would not want to be friends with this person anymore. We would not want to be around this person even. Every time we sin or go against what God has said and told us to do we are doing this to him, but on a much larger scale. BUT God NEVER EVER will unfriend us. He will always be here for us in our times of need, joy, sadness, anger, nervousness, and everything else. He is here.
Today’s Scripture is saying to me that Jesus listens to our prayers in one way or another, and all we have to do is ask. Jesus is still alive and He still can perform the miracles we read about in Scripture like today’s. We just need to ask it from Him and he will give it to us in one way or another, He might not give it to you exactly the way you want but he listens to every prayer you pray to Him.
“ Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and the one who knocks,
the door will be opened.”
-Mathew 7:7-8
Jesus is so great that if he just wills us to be healed we will be healed of all physical wounds and sins. He is so amazing that if he just thinks about healing us it may be done.
In this Scripture passage I think they’re trying to tell us that, we need to keep our soul clean for the Lord. If our soul isn’t clean, God will still love us and cleanse us (confession).
We have to trust that God will health us. If we believe he will do.
This has taught me that we should always obey God and that we should pray for the homeless.
We are all sinners. Whenever we commit a mortal sin we MUST go to confession immediately. Our sins are completely forgiven once we pray our penance.
If we were to live our lives like the lepers in this scripture and believe in everything our lives will be 10x better.
This gospel makes me think that if people saw or heard of this happening in our time, they would challenge Him more than He was then. I don’t think that it would be best for Jesus to be on Earth still, because those who love and believe, don’t have to see to believe.
How would it feel to be a leper. Left out and stuck in a deserted place. How would you feel.We need to help the people in our society today that our like lepers. People that don’t fit in we need to help them and be nice to them.
We are like the leaper in the passage. We come to Jesus asking for him to forgive us. Once he forgives us we go sin again like when the leaper told everyone after Jesus told him not too. We need to try our hardest not to sin.
I should trust in God and go to confession. I should forgive others for what they have done to me. We need to trust Him, He has a plan for us and we need to trust Him.
If we ask Jesus and pray to Him then He will help us. All we have to do is follow Him and listen to what He tells us to do.
Today Jesus is showing us that he is caring fro the lepers. The lepers are the people that no one wants to be around. Jesus is always around us
We just need to acknowledge Jesus’s present,
I think that in this paper that the Lord is trying to convince us that he loves all of us. The Lords love for us is unconditional. God will tell us he loves us but not many people believe him when he says that.
We should always forgive those that hurt us. That is why God put us down on this planet, to be nice to one another and to care for one another.
I think what God is saying is that he has the power of anything, but he will give us anything we want. We should respect want he chooses in our lives and call us what to be.
God is saying that I need to forgive everyone. Also I need to be friends to everyone even if they have hurt me or someone I know.
Jesus is telling us to forgive people and follow God closer
I should be like the leper and go to Jesus to be healed instead of waiting for him to come to me.
I can apply this to my life by accepting people more, and praying more. I will also forgive others more than i do and as for forgiveness more.
I can apply this to my life by asking God for things.
This Scripture passage tells me that if I trust in God and ask him, I shall be healed. I must also ask others for forgiveness.
We have to trust in God’s will even when it seems impossible, it’s what God wanted for us. Doing this will let us grow in faith and get us closer to Heaven.
We can trust that Jesus will help heal us in times of need but we need to seek him out for him to do so.
What I took away from the scripture is that Jesus has the power to heal. The leper had faith in Jesus and it was Jesus’ will that he was healed. I can use this in my daily life by keeping in mind that if we put faith in Jesus, he can “heal” us (Physically and Spiritually) if it is his will, just like he healed the leper.
I can apply this to my life by, asking God to forgive me and pray for the homeless.
This passage tells me to forgive as God forgives me. Even if you don’t WANT to.. it’s probably best if you just trust God.
i think this is saying that like the leper if we try and get help stuff can happen and if we trust in God we will be saved
In today’s Gospel, I find it interesting that the leper had to ask to be healed by Jesus. Just knowing who Jesus is, and learning about what he does, it’s surprising that Jesus doesn’t just heal the lepers without being asked. But Jesus waits until they ask him, and once they do, he’s more than glad to cleanse them of their leprosy, and I think that this is how it is for us as sinners. We have to physically ask Jesus to forgive us before he does. Once we ask him to forgive our sins, he’s more than happy to do so, but he makes us come to him first. And looking back to the journal question from two days ago, it asks us why we have to go to a priest for confession, instead of just asking Jesus in our hearts, and I think that this Gospel answers that. The priest is in persona Christi, so when we go to confession, we are physically asking Jesus for forgiveness, just like how the leper in the Gospel had to physically ask for Jesus’ healing before he received it.
What stuck out to me in today’s Gospel is that the leper went out and told everyone that Jesus had cured him. I get that he was very grateful for what Jesus had done for him, but Jesus told him not to. Now, Jesus couldn’t go anywhere without getting recognized. We just need to think about how much we can change others lives with our words.
God will give us everything we long for we just have to trust in him.
Being human we sin. Sin makes us farther away from God and Heaven. Jesus loves us very much and wants to forgive the mistakes that we have made. But we have to allow him to by going to confession and proving that we a truly sorry.
In today’s Gospel it is saying if you ask you will receive you don’t have to beg and beg God is always there and will answer your prayer at some point might not be right away but all ways have him in your heart he loves you so much.
Today Jesus did a great thing in healing a man of Leprosy. By using this scripture I can take into count that Jesus and my Guardian Angel are always with me.
I can apply this to my life by following God’s plan and trusting in him.
we need to follow God as he can heal us just like the lepers God will lead us and we should trust him
In this scripture I saw it as we are the lepers and Jesus is the Holy Spirit. Jesus clean the lepers from their disease and so the the Holy Spirit cleans our soul at baptism.
Today’s scripture tells us that we need to ask god for forgiveness.
Perhaps most, Jesus desires us, his beloved companions, to directly strive to become fully united with God. Through faithful prayer, and holy doings, we are enabled to successfully achieve this, in addition to harnessing His grace. Today’s gospel connotes this and implies that Jesus obtains within his heart the desire to ultimately help us, and vastly spread the warm teachings of God.
We need to follow God and always trust in him and believe in him and pray to him about our vocation because he is always there for us especially when we follow in his footsteps , he can heal us if we ask for it
I can apply this to my life by being grateful for everything God’s given me. I will not throw away what God gives me but instead be happy and forever grateful for all God has done for me.
If we pray to Jesus then he will help us. We just have to follow Jesus and pray everyday for the Holy Spirit to guide us.
Today the Scripture is telling me to include people. The leper was the outcast and everybody hated him, didn’t want him around, and they didn’t want to get sick. But Jesus came into town, said “No. This ain’t okay.” and healed him. He included him. Since He is/was a perfect example and I am NOTHING BUT imperfection, I will at least attempt to follow him and believe.
We need to have a soul that is cleansed. We can clean our souls by prayer, confession, etc. Having a clean soul can help us have a good and clean life as well. Not only should our actions be good, our thoughts and soul should be as well.
This means to trust in Jesus . This also means to thank Jesus for the things he gives me.
We need to have a soul that is clean. We can clean our souls by going to reconciliation and believing in God. If we don’t believe in God, we a farther away from him.
I can apply this to my life by realizing that God works through us just as the leper is cured we are cleansed every time that we make the sign of the cross when we enter the church.
Today’s Scripture is telling us that we need to forgive and allow people into our lives. Forgiveness can show a start to a friendship.
I can apply this scripture to my life right now by approaching the confessional just like the leper approached Jesus. I think we take it for granted that we can go to confession regularly. Since we have the opportunity to go to confession every week, we just think that it is no big deal that God is literally taking the wounds of sin off of our souls, the sins that we have sinned against him and his people. We just walk out of there just like we walked in there. Ready to make the same sin again and forget that we even received the sacrament of reconciliation. We should be rejoicing as just like the leper did, because our lord has just lifted a heavy weight off our heart and has given us another chance to live our lives like he did.
