“I HAVE TOLD YOU THIS SO THAT MY JOY MIGHT BE IN YOU AND YOUR JOY MIGHT BE COMPLETE.” JN 15:9-11
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
St. Thomas Aquinas says, “Joy comes from hope and proceeds from love”. He further adds, “Joy is full, when there is nothing more to desire”. He continues in the Summa Theologica, “Hence desire will be at rest, not only our desire for God, but all our desires: so that the joy of the blessed is full to perfection–indeed over-full, since they will obtain more than they were capable of desiring: for “neither hath it entered into the heart of man, what things God hath prepared for them that love Him” (1 Corinthians 2:9).”
Joy is an interesting thing. There is no opposite to joy. Everything I can think of in this world has an opposite, but not joy. Unless we think of spiritual garbage or hell as it’s opposite-Peter Kreeft
The only way joy can be taken away from you is if you stop believing or give up hope and do not love. I can be running on the coldest day in the middle of winter with no leaves and dead grass around me, but still have joy (I still believe Jesus Christ resurrected and saved me). I can be sick on the couch for a week, but still have joy. I can be fasting and still have joy. I can be going through depression and still have joy.
Love likes to suffer and requires sacrifice. Jesus suffered the most excruciating crucifixion, but the paradox is that Jesus died the most joyful Man that has ever lived by doing the Father’s will and saving every one of our souls. God’s love is the most powerful thing in the universe and He wants an intimate friendship with each one of us so we can experience His joy forever!
Joy leaps forth from love and hope, a firm belief that we are saved. It can be snatched by the Devil only if you let Him by giving up hope and not loving. Our joy will be complete when we no longer desire God, we will be with Him forever in heaven and our joy will be over-filled because we understand who God made us to be perfectly and rest in His love. We will be complete and desire nothing else.
Today’s challenge: Follow the commandments, pray, believe, hope, love, and never let anyone or anything steal your joy especially during the greatest suffering of your life!
Suffering brings joy! St. Francis and his brothers would look for suffering in the most radical ways and deny themselves every comfort in radical ways. They were full of joy!

Today’s gospel reminds me about how empty we feel without God. God makes us feel complete and we must trust that he is there for us. He has to be because he is always with us that is why when we sin we feel empty because we turn away from him when we should be loving him and showing him our love.
“Why, then, are you now putting God to the test” This stuck out to me because it shows that when we sin, God will still love us but it hurts Him. He has already done so much for us. He gave us our lives and we are putting our sins on Him. We need to remember all that God did for us.
A part that stuck out to me was “If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments.”
I think in this part Jesus is trying to tell us if we follow him and obey the commandments we will be happy and get to heaven, and if we don’t we will end up lonely and away from God.
There is no opposite to joy. The only way we can get full and complete joy is through God. Love and joy require sacrafice, but it is well worth it in the end.
Well stated, Isaac! I always enjoy reading your reflections!
“you will remain in my love” no matter what you do, God will always love you, this is something a ton of people struggle with and why some people leave the church, they feel like what they’ve done is unloveable, therefore, God can’t love them. This isn’t true though, you should go to confession to cleanse your sins, God will always love you!
God tells us today that to remain in his love we must keep the 10 commandments and doesn’t that seem like such a simple task to just keep his 10 simple rules and you can remain in his love. Although it says to remain in his love keep his comandments it doesn’t mean that if you break a comandment that he no longer loves you he always loves you no matter what you’ve done. But also by keeping his comandments you keep your Joy that you have received from God because you won’t have the stain of sin to worry about.
Today in scripture we learn, Joy can’t be taken away from unless you stop believing in Christ. Love likes to suffer and and not permanent but we still try to love one another the best we can. My favorite part of scripture is definitely “Joy comes from hope and proceeds from love”, it shows the connection between the 2 of joy and love but so very different.
“As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love.” This stuck out to me because Jesus is saying that his Father loves Him just as He loves us. He wants us to remain in Him and in His love. To do that we need to pray everyday and act as if we love Him. We shouldn’t be two faced in prayer and love Him and acknowledge Him at home then at school or when we are not alone we totally ignore Him.
There is no opposite of joy. Whether something in your life may be happening, you can still have joy knowing that Jesus died and rose for us. Love requires a sacrifice and that’s why Jesus came, to sacrifice Himself and show us love.
Lucy, you are spot on that Jesus is a model of love for us. Good job!
Joy can’t be ripped away from you by anyone but yourself if you believe or have hope in God you will have joy when you catch yourself losing Joy you need to bring yourself back to God the purpose for life and that’s where you will find yourself and joy.
There is joy in everything, you just have to find what it is. Joy comes in all shapes and sizes it matters on how much people believed that Jesus really came down and saved us from our sin.
“my joy might be in you, and your joy will be complete.” This is such a powerful gospel, because it tells us that joy is not the same as happiness! Happiness is a human emotion, meaning that it is fleeting, and pretty much uncontrollable. Joy, however, is a gift given from God that is the inner peace and happiness that will increase exponentially when we get to heaven. This is the joy that we experience when we sit in God’s love, when we go to mass, or we are serving others from our heart with no expected return. We have to remember that pleasure and happiness are fleeting, and they will not satisfy, but the joy that God gives is eternal, if we choose to stay in God’s grace and keep his word.
Teagan, I always enjoy reading your reflections. You take what the Gospel says or something from my reflection and make it even better. Your understanding of God’s Word is a gift. Embrace it and share it with others.
Nothing can take away our joy except for hell. Even in our hardest moments, we can still have joy as Christians because we know that we have something greater than ourselves to believe in. We always have the faith in Jesus and sometimes we might not want to believe. We have to get through those tough times because those are the times that make us stronger.
Thomas it has been a great joy and honor to see you grow in your faith these last 2 years. You inspire me to continue to teach the faith.
Today’s reading talked about joy. Joy is a great blessing, joy can be anywhere at any time, you just have to find it. Joy is not something you have or own, it’s something you obtain and can control. You should always be able to find joy in something, it can be very hard to find it at times though. Like if someone you were close to has died it may be hard to find your joy, but it’s still in you.
Jesus, today, is reassuring us in His everlasting love. He speaks more about the Father and His eternal love for us, and how He loves His Father and His Father loves Him. Love brings joy, it endures suffering and holds out for the joy and happiness afterwards.
“As the Father loves me, so I also love you.
Remain in my love.
we need to stay in his love so we can spread his love and give out our own love to anyone and everyone. you can pick if you want to stay in Gods love or you have the choice to leave because we have free will to do anything even if it isn’t the correct thing and so chose whatever you want be you will be able to tell that you are not in his love because he sheld you from all the bad stuff with his love
“I have told you this so that my joy might be in you and your joy might be complete.” This part stood out to me, because we need Jesus to have joy. True joy can’t come from anything except Jesus. When wen find joy in him, our lives won’t be the same.
Jesus said to his disciples:
“As the Father loves me, so I also love you.
Remain in my love.
If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love,
just as I have kept my Father’s commandments
and remain in his love. These words stuck out to me because
it says that we need to love God because he Loves us.
We need to try to not sin so that we may get to heaven
and see God in person someday.
Today what Jesus is telling us is that in order to stay with God and have a close relationship with him other wise it would be impossible if Jesus hadn’t died for our sins and God didn’t have mercy. Jesus always says remain in me for I have remained in the father but today it is especially special because it is about the ten commandments which have been preserved for thousands of years.
Laetyn, I always enjoy reading your reflections. I see in you someone who is seeking Truth. You are very intelligent, unceasingly continue to seek the Truth about God in your life.
I think the gospel is trying to say is that there is no such thing as joy unless it is from God. God is are light and no money no other person could make us happy like him.
I agree, Edgar! Only God can give us what we truly desire, to be with Him forever.
I think that God is saying that when we let God into us we will be happy.” “I HAVE TOLD YOU THIS SO THAT MY JOY MIGHT BE IN YOU AND YOUR JOY MIGHT BE COMPLETE.” If we give our life and heart to God, we will be happy and holy. He will help us through hard stuff and he will always be with you.
Good job, Ian! I agree, happy, holy, full of joy are worth the sacrifice.
Joy is in everything you just have to figure out how joy is used in it. Joy is having happiness and believing that God is with us and will always be with us.
“I have told you this so that my joy might be in you and your joy might be complete.” This really stuck out to me because God always wants us to be happy. He may make all these rules and all but they are really for us to grow in faith and to make us feel joy. In our time many people are depressed and aren’t happy if we follow God he will sustain us and give us all the joy in the world.
What I got from this reflection, is that even though we think there is an opposite to joy, like pain or disappointment, there really isn’t. Jesus is a perfect representation of Joy at its finest works. Joy is just an unimaginable experience. It may be hard sometimes to try to live out a life where you block out the things that are “fun” (which is really just Satan tempting you), but when you reach the eternal kingdom of Heaven, and you’re with God, you will be extremely thankful for what you did on Earth.
Jesus loves us more than anyone can imagine. The Lord wants us to be joyful but to be joyful we must stay with Jesus Christ our savior. There is no opposite of joy. When you are with God there is nothing you should fear. Stay with the Lord and you will have everlasting joy.
Joy is great. As Jesus was dying, He was the most joyful man. He was doing the Father’s will. We have to do the Father’s will. We have to take up our crosses and learn how to suffer. God’s presence is so great that it brings joy. Joy is a great amount of happiness. There isn’t an opposite of happiness or joy. We experience joy everyday, but the greatest amount of joy is being saved by Jesus and getting to meet our God.
Something that I got out of this is that we need to love each other. If Jesus was able to do it the people that literally killed him, we should be able to do it to people that just did the slightest things, we have to realize that we are all humans, it does not matter if you are a murder, or a saint, we are all still humans, and we have to forgive those people that did hurt us, its hard to forgive people, it takes awhile to do it, but once we are able to forgive than we will live happier lives, and get closer to going to heaven
“I have told you this so that
my joy might be in you and
your joy might be complete.”
Jesus is the only way our joy will be complete. Once we turn ourselves to him and ask him for joy our joy will be complete. He is the only thing that can make our joy complete.
In today’s Gospel Jesus tells us how to remain in his love. We remain in His love by following the commandments but Jesus says, “As the Father loves me, so I also love you.” Jesus will always love us like the Father loves him and the Father will never stop loving and Jesus will never stop loving. If we remain in Jesus’s love, we will receive complete joy.
Joy cannot be taken away from you unless you separate yourself from God. “I have told you this so that my joy might be in you and your joy might be complete.” If we have a relationship with God and He is our friend, there is always joy. Joy can never be ripped away from us if we love God and strive to get to heaven.
Jesus says “If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love” Once again Jesus is telling us how to be with him. Jesus always reminds us how to spend eternity with him. We get so much Joy because of God, think of our family, friends, everyone who has said something nice to you, all that is because of God. We will meet God fully in Heaven. Joy is a powerful emotion, it is very hard to be taken away. We should embrace the joy and take it in.
I think what Jesus meant here was that he has so much joy that when he spreads it is impossible to be sad.
Jesus always wants the best for us. He tells us that he loves us, not to guilt us into being better, but so that we know that there is someone there for us. He tells us so we can be at peace in knowing this. He knows what’s best for us too. Sometimes- oftentimes we think that only we know our true purpose, and we know where we belong and who we will be. But this is not always the case. Sometimes Jesus’ plans for our lives are similar to the ones we already had, but this is not always true. In times of doubt we should strive to remember that Jesus knows best, and He created us for a specific purpose.
Today God tells us to remain in his love, and to keep the 10 commandments. The 10 commandments bring us joy, and joy is an incredible thing, there is no opposite. Most of the stuff to ever be conceived had an opposite, but not joy. It is a powerful thing. Joy can only be lost if you stop believing that Jesus died and resurrected from the dead, that we are saved from sin.”I can be sick on the couch for a week, but still have joy. I can be fasting and still have joy. I can be going through depression and still have joy.” Mr.Goertz gives a great example for this, he tells us that if we don’t stop believing, then we will always have eternal joy.
Jesus is explaining the Love of The Father. How we will always be loved by Him, but we need to love Him not for His sake but our own. He does not need our love or prayer, we need His love and the power that holds. If we do not love others, as Jesus says “whatever you do to the least of my people, that you do unto me”, so to truly love God we also need to love others, and something that can help with that are the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy.
“Joy comes from hope and proceeds from love”.Joy can be hard to find sometimes but in the end you will find it. It just takes time and once you find it, joy will help you out. If we look at God and stay with Him then that’s where our joy is. So as long as you follow in His footsteps everything will be okay and once we die we will be where our true home is and we won’t have to worry about life hurting us.
What I am getting from this scripture today is that joy requires love and hope. We have joy when we put our trust in God. It was hard for me to write about this because I feel like it does not get much simpler than that. When we love God we find our Joy.
They will obtain more than they were capable of desiring. They are us we obtain more than we need. We should only have our needs while we still get our wants. We shouldn’t want from others we should only need and buy things we need.
Jesus is telling us that he will always love us and he is showing us that he has everlasting joy and he loves to give that joy to us and everyone on Earth it shows that he will have eternal joy and happiness for everyone and that he wants us to have a wonderful life and then after we die we can live in peace with God and him.
You can find Joy in everything. You just have to be looking for that joy. Joy is an amazing thing that we all strive for. Jesus has so much joy that he wants to give to all of us. Jesus loves us so much that he died on the cross. Jesus is overflowing with joy that he wants to give us.
Today Jesus says that we must keep the commandments to be happy. He does not just want to be worshiped he wants to love us that we will love him. He just wants a relationship with us.
I like how Jesus said in today’s Gospel “Remain in my love.” Because we really cannot fully live life to the fullest if we don’t remain in touch with Jesus. We have to build a solid relationship with him so we can live for him completely.
For the longest time I always thought that “living life to the fullest” meant traveling the world and fulfilling all of my dreams but I’ve come to realize that’s not it. To live life to the fullest you have to come to know Jesus and live a life of sacrifice for him. It may not be the easiest life but it will be a joyful and overall, a fulfilling life.
“If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love” This stuck out to me because whenever we find ourselves sinning or being tempted to sin, we just have to remember the ten commandments and that will make us think of our actions. I have discovered that in the gospels, Jesus talks about them a lot and almost anything in the faith leads back to these commandments. if we remember the ten commandments, we will remain in Gods love.
I think that Jesus is trying to tell me that there is no opposite to joy. Joy is the feeling inside you when you do something in God’s image and it helps someone else as well as doing the right thing. Doing the right brings me joy as it should to everyone else in the world.
Today’s gospel is about how we are incomplete without God and how if we love God “his joy will be in us and our joy will be complete”
“As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love.” This part of the scripture sticks out to me, because Jesus literally tells us he loves us. He loves us the same way that He loves His Father, God himself! He wants us to know that we are loved, even though we don’t deserve it. He is here for us in the same way that our parents are meant to be there for us, and He wants us to be joyful through everything that happens, because He’s got our backs!
God’s joy is the greatest gift to have because it fills us to become happy for others. God doesn’t want us to have no joy. If we have joy when we are in trouble, that’s God because he is there with you fighting your battles. so be still and let him fight. The whole point of Joy is to fill others by gift and by spiritual works. Joy can’t be torn down by someone else. That means they don’t have joy so fill it in with them so they don’t have to feel sad, angry, or stressed in parts of the day. Be Christ- like for others. Act like what God has done to you so that when he fills you, you can fill that person.
“Joy is full, when there is nothing more to desire.” This is what stuck out to me the most. It stuck out because it is something that you don’t usually think of. If you want more you don’t have pure happiness but if you don’t then that means you are all in. You are believing in God with all of your heart. You are giving others things and that fills you up. You can still get stuff for yourself but you have to give if you want your joy to be full.
Zoey, you have great awareness in your Spirit. You understand some difficult spiritual things at such a young age. I am excited to see you continue to grow in your faith!
Jesus loves us so very much as he says in the scripture. That was never the problem. We are the ones who need to recognize that love and not ruin what is does for us. For if we fall out of love with God then we will have no purpose, we will be consumed with longing for things we no longer have. That is why depression exists. People don’t recognize that there is something more and they try to fill the void they feel with earthly pleasures. And they never fill it. We need God’s love in our love.
I think today Jesus is trying to tell us that when ever we listen to God and listen to his commandments we will be happy. He gave us the commandment for a reason and he wants us to be filled with joy but we are the ones that don’t listen to him. Just as Jesus listened to the father and his commandments because he knew it was right and in the end it will make him happy.
“Joy comes from hope and proceeds from love” I think the Gospel is trying to tell us that if we have hope and love we will find joy without them we have very little joy>
“Joy comes from hope and proceeds from love” This means love and hope both support joy, You need love and hope to have
joy and joy is what God wants us to have, eternal joy with him in heaven and love, hope is what is going to get us their.
Love+Hope=Joy
“Suffering bring joy.” This stuck out to me because when you suffer for someone else it brings you more joy if you didn’t do anything for the other person. When you do something for someone else you will fill yourself up with joy. When you help someone it makes you feel good and then you feel happy and grateful that you helped them.
Jesus is trying to tell me to humbly submit me fully to him. Jesus gave us joy and love. The only way joy can be taken away from you is if you stop believing. Never stop believing in God even when times are hard. He suffered on the cross just so that we can live and so that we have Joy.
Jesus longs for us to have joy. It’s true! he died for us so that we may be saved and go to heaven to live in eternal joy and peace. He longs for us to have joy here on earth, and says that the only way to have true joy here on earth that will satisfy all of our longings, we must find joy in him. Jesus loves us, so let us follow him in order to have joy!
We are supposed to have joy and give joy to others. Having joy is coming from love and giving people joy and love is a good thing. God gives us so much joy and love and always wants us to be happy.
“Joy comes from hope and proceeds from love”. i felt like this was inpartant because God love and care for us so much and Joy cannot be taken away from you unless you separate yourself from God.
In today’s gospel it says “As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love.” this stuck out to me because it saying that Jesus wants the best for us and that he will always be there for us. Only God can gives us what we truly desire . And that we need to pray everyday and not be afraid to pray and show our love for God in front of other people. We need to try not to sin and, you should go to confession to cleanse your sins
“If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments.” This really stuck out to me because I think its saying if we obey him and follow the path he has made for us we will have eternal life with him.
God is everything to us and he was everything to his mother and his father. His disciples pretty much would kiss his feet if he asked them to. He was the person who gave miracles, blessings, and joy to people. He came down, had to go through stages of life and disrespect from people because he wasn’t one of them. He preached and said the word, deserted himself in the desert and rose from the dead. He is everything we need and he is in us all!!
This is saying that our life is not complete without Jesus. Our joy is not fulfilled without Jesus.
Jesus wants us to be joyful. There is no reason not to be joyful when the Father loves you except for sin. When we sin we lose our joy. Our joy disappears because of sin and the devil. Wouldn’t you want to have you in your life all the time? Yes, so having joy in your life means you have to stop sinning. Now you can’t physically be sinless but you can still try and Jesus helps us by giving the 10 commandments. When we follow the 10 Commandments we are truly dwelling in the Fathers love for us and we are truly joyful.
I feel like being happy and being joyful are two very different things. Being happy is a temporary thing. Like when im with friends im happy. I feel like joy is more permanent. Like I know God will bring me permanent joy. Like if youre joyful you are at your truest happiness. God can bring us joy.
In todays Gospel Jesus says to keep his commandments and we will remain in his love. While it is difficult to do at times and we may fail, we can still go to Confession and have our sins be forgiven. Even if you stop believing for a little bit, if you come back to Jesus he will welcome you with open arms.
What Jesus is trying to say in this passage is that, if you follow the Commandments you will be with love. If you’re not following the Commandments you will be without love. It is important to keep the Commandments in mind so that when we follow them, we shall know that we are being loved for and cared for.
The word joy to me is a very cool word cause at least for me I don’t tend to hear it a lot. Whenever I hear the word joy it makes me think that someone isn’t just happy but what they kept trying to work on or having a lot of faith in something that came true they were then filled with joy, almost like an overwhelming happiness. I think joy is meant for those times when you kept trying or having faith in something that doesn’t happen very often.
Joy has made its appearance many times throughout the bible. All of the times it has appeared in the bible, joy has come from God. The joy of the Lord is something that fills us up and gives us life. The Lord’s joy is always present in His grace, and it is something we can receive when we are with Him. As Catholics, we can spread the joy of the Lord through our acts of kindness and love.
God loves us and will always. We should follow the path that He has set for us and trust and love Him back.
Todays Gospel reminds us that there is no Joy without the father, no joy if you just look for earthly Joy, Earth Isnt all there is and its not where we want to stay, can you imagine if you lived forever? you’d have to go through pain and heartbreak for eternity, but Earth isn’t forever, because we have a loving father to come back home to.
We are only complete when we are with the Lord because he is our Joy, our light. God wills only our Joy and love. We should strive for a relationship with him so we can rest in his love and forever be joyful.
“I have told you this so that my joy might be in you and your joy might be complete.” Jesus has great joy because he knows that the Father loves him. God loves all of us and that should bring us all joy. There are many times when we are happy but we only have complete joy when we realize and are thankful for all God has done for us and how he loves us no matter what we do.
We always need to follow Jesus in order to love Him deeply. We have to know someone to love them. That’s how we are supposed to love God we need to really know Him and in order to do that we have to read the Bible and pray everyday. He loves us and cares for us always. We need to show Him that we love Him by talking to Him by praying or reading the Bible.
today Jesus tells us that we need to love. it is easy when we love someone that loves us, but he has also said to love everyone. loving the people that hate you or persecute you is what we are called to do. We may find that to be somewhat paradoxical because we will just give and give and keep on giving, while they take and take and keep on taking. If you think about it that is what happens to us every day of our life, God gives and gives and gives and we take and take and take. Sometimes we feel like we are a burden to him and think we are unforgivable, but God doesn’t feel the same. God will always and forever give and he doesn’t care if we don’t reciprocate. He wants us to take and take, so we can give and give. and in the end we will find we have more for ourselves.
Happiness is a human felt emotion like how we feel after we get something we want or we get to go somewhere we’ve been wanting to go for a while, but joy is a God given feeling. We can always have joy, the only way for joy to be taken from us is when we decide to make choices in our life that WE made ourselves and live by them. Hell is the only thing that could take joy out of you and that cannot happen unless you allow it to do so. We can still have joy when something sad happens, yes we might be sad about it but we can still have joy knowing that Jesus died and rose from the dead for us.
In today’s Gospel Jesus is telling His disciples that the reason He is so close with The Father is because He knows God had a plan all along He put His full trust into God and knew that if He completely trusted God, God would grant Him eternal life in Heaven. Jesus told His disciples that as long as they trust Him and have faith in Him, they would also have eternal life with The Father.
We have to love God and follow His Commandments so in return we go to heaven… because God always loves us.
I think that Jesus is trying to tell me that there is no opposite to joy. Joy is the feeling inside you when you do something in God’s image. It helps someone else as well as doing the right thing. Doing the right brings me joy as it should to everyone else in the world.
“Joy comes from hope and proceeds from love”
Joy and Hope are the key center of Love, if you don’t have Joy in others and Hope in yourself, you can’t love, or it would be pretty hard to love.
Where do we get true joy from? we get it from God. and if it comes from God, nothing can overcome that joy because God is the most powerful. If God’s joy is within us, it can never be taken away and nothing can stop it or overcome it.
In the scripture it is saying that we aren’t complete without God. So we need him in our lives because he helps us so much and we are complete with him. And that’s why we are empty without him because we aren’t complete.
In this scripture reflection I learned that joy is different from love because love is when their is not more to love ,you can still feel joyous
Jesus is telling his disciples that if they love Him, He will love you back. He loves all of us even if we don’t love him. He will always love us, He will never stop loving us. If He can do that for us then we can love Him in return. If He can be crucified by the ones He saved and rose from the dead with love and forgiveness then we can love Him back.
I think God is trying to tell us that true joy cannot be obtained from physical things. I think He is trying to tell us that He is our only option to get true joy.
What stuck out to me in today’s gospel was ” “I have told you this so that my joy might be in you and your joy might be complete.” This stuck out to me because it reminds me that we are not whole without Jesus’s love. We need God in our lives we will never be truly joyous without him and his love.
A lot of good things in this world requires sacrifice. But sometimes sacrifice can be good, like giving up video games to get better at basketball, video games aren’t going to help you, but basketball will. Just like Jesus, spinning isn’t going to lead us up to the Father and eternal life in Heaven. So we need to make sacrifices to stop sinning constantly and make it to confession as often as possible.
joy comes from are faith in God that he saved us its from his grace that fills us with joy and makes us whole how it is different from happiness is that happiness can stop no matter if you choose it to joy will never stop unless you yourself stops believing in God and his death and Resurrection that saved us
When we feel down, or feel left out, we can thin that Jesus always loves us and that can provide some comfort and joy. Jesus is full of joy because he saved all of us and he knows that he is loves by God the father. Jesus could have felt sad when the Jews wanted him dead and the Romans crucified him, but he knew that it was his father’s will and he was willing the good for us, so he willingly was taken by the soldiers even though he knew he would die.
What makes us joyful? No, not happy things that make you happy don’t make you joyful. Shopping makes me happy, pizza makes me happy, theater, singing, track and all sorts of things make me happy, but what makes a person joyful? First joy is all the time, not just a little spark for a second, no joy is forever, it’s always a blaze and true joy can never be extinguished. We can only find the true joy in one person and He is on a cross for our sins, and He still loves us.
God wants us to fully trust him. He is patient and caring and He will help us through hard times.
Joy is what is supposed to fill our hearts but we fill our hearts with what we don’t need. We try to add fillers in our hearts instead of the joy of our life that we have. We need to focus on the good and get away from the bad. We need to surround ourselves with people who will bring that joy to us instead of people who take away that joy. We need to bring that joy inside of others and make them feel full of love and joy. Be the person to bring out the best in someone else today and every day. We need to trust God that He will also fill our hearts.
Today’s Scripture told me that God will love us no matter what and the reason why we are moving away from God is not because He stopped loving us, its because we stopped trying to be close to Him and stopped trying to build a relationship with Him.
The only way joy can be taken away from you is if you stop believing or give up hope and do not love.
satan is the root of all evil its easier said then done but follow god and put your faith 100% in him you will find true joy and happenis
god says that we must keep his commandments. we find this hard to do because it is normalized in our society.
Everything has Joy and nothing that you can’t think of has joy
Joy has no opposite it come from love and hope
Joy has no opposite it come from love and hope. It fulfills
“Love likes to suffer and requires sacrifice.” this part from the scripture is very true and we need to wake up to realize that.
The devil is where all the temptation comes from in the world, which is why we should always go to god for help because he is true happiness
If God didn’t die for our sins the entire earth would be Hell. The only way to stay with God is to have a close relationship. The only way to do that is to be in prayer as much as possible.
In this scripture reflection shows us how much Jesus loves us and how much he cares for us we should take it from him and spread it around until it comes back to you and Jesus wants you to love him as much as he loves you.
“I HAVE TOLD YOU THIS SO THAT MY JOY MIGHT BE IN YOU AND YOUR JOY MIGHT BE COMPLETE.”
I think that this is saying that we need to have joy for everything. And not just for ourselves, share it to other and let them have joy to everyone and everything! God is calling us to do his good and if we give and receive joy to and from other people then we will be living out what he has called us to do.
“Joy leaps forth from love and hope, a firm belief that we are saved.” This stuck out to me. I think joy is not happiness but I think it is true happiness like what happiness is supposed to be, but that’s not what happiness really is right now. Joy is finding God. Choosing right from wrong, that is joy. Joy is getting to know God and being with him for eternity
“I have told you this so that my joy might be in you and your joy might be complete.” When Jesus is telling us this he is telling us that when we go to Mass and eat the Eucharist His Joy should be coming into us because we are actually eating the Body of Christ. After Mass we should share His Joy that we received to others and convince them to come to the church.
I think that God is saying that when we let God into us we will be happy If we give our life and heart to God, we will be happy and holy.
“As the Father loves me, so I also love you.” God love us so much and nothing can match it. The only living thing that can and could love us as much is Jesus. We know this because he died a horrible and painful death knowing that because of it we would be saved.
In today’s scripture reflection was about joy. We are supposed to have joy with everyone around us and near us. “Joy comes from hope and proceeds from love” our joys brings us closer to God and what God have given us.
Joy is in everything you just have to figure out how joy is used in it. Joy is having happiness and believing that God is with us and will always be with us.We should be able to do it to people that just did the slightest things, we have to realize that we are all humans, it does not matter if you are a murder, or a saint, we are all still humans, and we have to forgive those people that did hurt us, its hard to forgive people, it takes awhile to do it, but once we are able to forgive than we will live happier lives, and get closer to going to heaven.
the gospel told me that Jesus is our joy and that no one can take that away from us. He loves us and is always there for us and will always fill us with joy and love.
“Joy is full, when there is nothing more to desire”. Our joy is full. God is our joy! We don’t realize it, but he is. There is no such thing as joy other than the joy in the Bible, the Gospel tells us.
In today’s scripture, We should be joyful because we got everything we want, we got Jesus, love, grace, and a life on Earth. There is no opposite to joy. The only way we can lose joy is when we don;t believe in something or lose faith in it. Even though it was painful, Jesus was the happiest man even though he was dying on the cross. We should all be joyful like Jesus.
Some thing stuck out to me was “you will remain in my love.” The reason that this stuck out to me was because its saying that no matter what you do God will always forgive you.
I think today’s scripture reflection is about joy. God gives us the most Joy and happiness. God will always be with us.
“As the Father loves me, so I also love you.” Jesus love us so much. The same love like a child loves there parent. He also just wants us happy he says: “I have told you this so that my joy might be in you and your joy might be complete.” He just wants to love us and for us to be happy.
God wants us to be joyful, we should always be joyful because we have God and that means we have heaven. The only time we are not joyful is when we sin, Sin takes away our joy and when God sees us sin it takes away his joy. That’s why we have confession so we can earn our joy back and be happy. We have to follow the sets of rules God gave us because that is our path to heaven! If we follow them we will have eternal life with God and we will be in eternal happiness.
“The only way joy can be taken away from you is if you stop believing or give up hope and do not love.” That stuck out to me today. Joy is something that we must protect, like a fire. Certain things like stuff on the internet can hurt the flame of joy. If we follow the path of God, it may not be totally joyful along the way, we will be eternally happy in Christ.
“I HAVE TOLD YOU THIS SO THAT MY JOY MIGHT BE IN YOU AND YOUR JOY MIGHT BE COMPLETE.” To me this means that when we receive the Eucharist we receive joy in Jesus and He is then inside of us and that joy will lead us to heaven. That joy will forgive or venial sins so then we can get closer to God.
“Joy is full, when there is nothing more to desire”. Our joy is full. God is our joy! We don’t realize it, but he is. There is no such thing as joy other than the joy in the Bible, the Gospel tells us. We need to look up and realize this!
Love requires a sacrifice and that’s why Jesus came, to sacrifice Himself and show us love.“The only way joy can be taken away from you is if you stop believing or give up hope and do not love.” That stuck out to me today. Joy is something that we must protect, like a fire.
We have joy and we already have in a way an inteminticy with Jesus we must just except it and love him and you will have joy.
Joy is an interesting thing. There is no opposite to joy. Everything I can think of in this world has an opposite, but not joy. Joy leaps forth from love and hope, a firm belief that we are saved. It can be snatched by the Devil only if you let Him by giving up hope and not loving.
We have joy with the father, he gives us joy when we worship him. Jesus is joy he gave us everything so we could live on earth..
We often tell ourselves that we are undeserving of any love. We often lower ourselves below all others and wish harm to ourselves. This is the most painful thing we can do for God. He sacrificed more than we could ever know so that we could have the gift of heaven. He wants to suffer for us, he wants to give himself up so that we will prosper.
no matter what we do God will always love us. God cant stop loving us its not in his nature. God will always be there for us and will always have his arms open when we sin ready to embrace us. We just have to turn to him and give him our sin and forgiveness.
